  1. Great ovation for Rocky King! The match is a squash. It’s all Arn, but for some reason Ole Anderson, Barry Windham and Sid Vicious interfere and jump on King for the DQ. Sid with a powerbomb in the beat down until Sting, Junkyard Dog and Paul Orndorff make the save with Jim Ross saying that ‘the superheroes are here!’ This is a match I had watched fairly recently so knew the outcome, but another crazy booking decision. Just have Arn beat him clean, the Horsemen can attack King post-match and then the Dudes with Attitude can make the save. Why on earth are you protecting King and not having him do a clean job? This is a man whose NWA career has been all about jobbing!
  2. Rocky King getting more promo time! Ole Anderson interrupts a King interview, is tired of having to see his face every week and wants to know what this surprise is that he’s got in store for him? King introduces his ‘brother’ and it’s Thunderbolt Patterson. Ole thinks that this is another stitch up by World Championship Wrestling and goes off to consult with his lawyers. Patterson says how he’s been sat at home watching everything and Ole Anderson has been running rough shot over everyone. The Horsemen’s time has come and he’s going to be keeping an eye on them from now on. Wherever they go, he’s going to be there. He’s been denied by Ole Anderson and Ric Flair and it’s time to put his foot where the sun don’t shine! It’s 1985 all over again and this seems like such a backwards step in bringing in Patterson. Thunderbolt is hardly the most threatening of looking individuals either.
  3. Dave Brown introduces Robert Fuller and Brian Lee, former holders of the World tag team titles. Fuller says how Dave likes that ‘former’ part, but he heard the Southern Rockers out there earlier, stuttering about the Tennessee Stud and Brian Lee. All they do when they talk about the Stud and his partner is stutter because they put a little trembling in their voice. They won the tag team titles in Dallas, TX, went all around the country defending them until he decided the belts were garbage and had some new ones made. He spent his hard earned money on those belts and now they’re around the waist of the Southern Rockers! Lee lets Fuller rant for a bit, but says that while he is the spokesman for the Stud Stable he’s a little out of line as the Southern Rockers are one of the best teams they’ve ever faced. Lee says that he is pointing the finger in the wrong direction and Fuller isn’t happy with that. He says that he’s the one who takes care of business, he might do the talking, but he also does the wrestling too and wonders if he is looking at the problem? Lee says that the problem is Sylvia. He’s tired of hearing him go on about how heartbroken he is over her, how he’s standing on the apron thinking about her while he does all the work. Fuller shoves him and Lee shoves him back with Fuller taking a great fall. Lee goes to leave but Fuller tells him to comeback, he’s right, the problem is Sylvia. Fuller tells him to shake his hand ‘it’s over’. With his guard down Fuller clocks Lee and DDTs him on the floor (which Lawler sells nicely from the desk) busting him open. He puts the boots to him, rams his head into the ring post and beats on him until Eddie Marlin is out to put a stop to the attack. Fuller decks him as well and continues to attack Lee. Marlin finally tells Fuller that if he lays another hand on either himself or Brian Lee he’ll be out of here, and that is enough to put a halt to proceedings. I’d never noticed that Robert Fuller is practically the same size as Brian Lee. Great stuff from Fuller, although from the moment Lee started sticking up for the Southern Rockers you knew where this was heading. Having seen Lee as a face in SMW I’m not expecting much, but the boy can bleed and he does another fine job on that front here.
  4. Almost as funny as seeing all the people lose their shit on Twitter over Dave's opinion. I unfollowed nearly all the wrestling based accounts I had been following on Twitter just after Christmas bar Meltzer and a couple of people who are involved in the business and automatically feel better for having done so. Wrestling twitter is such a weird place and I'm so glad I don't have to read the majority of that nonsense any more.
  5. Seeing Orndorff as a face is a tricky one to get your head around as I automatically associate him with being a heel. Even when watching this I was thinking Arn face, and Orndorff heel. Only the last minute is shown and chalk up another loss for the Horsemen as Orndorff reverses a small package to get the win.
  6. Before the match we get a taped Vicious promo in front of some black and white footage of horses running across the plains. Sid says that Lex Luger maybe the ‘Total Package’, but he’s a fuel injected, suicidal machine and Lex Luger is going to feel the wrath of Sid Vicious. Sid is finally out of that tuxedo and is accompanied to the ring by Ole Anderson. The Horsemen try to jump Lex at the bell but he gets the better of them. He starts beating on Ole and Sid comes to his rescue getting Luger off him. He goes over to speak to Ole, but when he turns around Lex nails him with a clothesline and scores the pin after just 23 seconds. This was mind blowing! I thought it was a waster the way that Sid’s debut with the Horsemen was spent cutting a promo on Robocop, but then having him job to Luger here in double quick time? My original guess (and the posts here confirm it) was that Lex was still recovering from his leg injury, but why did they have to beat Sid clean? If Luger couldn’t go long, just do a cheap DQ finish with Ole interfering. Yeah not great, but surely a whole lot better than what they actually did?
  7. Lee Marshall tells Kerry that Jerry Lawler has said he will give him one more shot at the Unified World title, the belt that he treasures more than anything (I thought that was the Texas title?). Kerry says that Lawler calls himself ‘The King’, but he doesn’t call him ‘The King’ and most people in fact call him ‘The Queen’. If he wants to shoot with him, if he wants to face him, ‘come on!’, but he’s got something that belongs to him. He says how he stood over him at Superclash III with Lawler beaten and lay on his back and he was the loser? Well he’s coming for him again, he’s more ready than he’s ever been and he’s going to be the new champion. One of the better Kerry interviews for the year.
  8. Lee Marshall says that it is going to be Jerry Lawler vs Kerry Von Erich one more time. Marshall is ecstatic about that but ‘The King’ is not. He’s sick of seeing Kerry Von Erich; he sees him in his sleep, every time he looks over his shoulder he’s dogging him wanting another shot at the World Heavyweight title and now he’s even following him to the IWA. He then cuts the same promo on him that he did on Mike Awesome earlier in the Yearbook where he compares him to a dinosaur, even down to the mind reader only charging him half price line. He is the undisputed Heavyweight champion and he will remain that! It’s interesting seeing the interviews for different markets and how Lawler cuts the same one in different places for different people.
  9. Lawler is in serious mode and says that the Snowman accomplished something that so many people weren’t able to accomplish. He should rephrase that, because everyone knows he didn’t get the job done by himself, in fact he wasn’t instrumental in him losing the Unified World title at all! How can he sleep at night? How can he look at himself in the mirror and call himself a champion when Leon Spinks was the man who cost him the title? This week he’s got a rematch but the Snowman won’t have a handpicked referee this time, because there won’t be a referee in the ring. It’s just the two of them, a fight to the finish. The referee will be on the outside and will only come in the ring for one thing, and that’s to count someone’s shoulders out and he promises those shoulders will be the Snowman’s. I know it’s tough to keep track of what goes down as Memphis and Texas are run separately, but unless Evansville now is, this date is surely wrong? We haven’t even had the Lawler/Snowman match with Kerry Von Erich as the referee yet, but this promo is talking about Spinks as the referee and costing Lawler the belt.
  10. There are a lot people coming into the ICW and it seems like they have to holler and scream to get attention. They seem to think that have to come out here, flex their muscles and boast about how much food they ate to get overweight! He was sat thinking the other day that he’s the man with the guns, the man with the bod, the man with the looks and the man with the gold. He’s the man everybody is shooting for and everybody is talking about. When he walks down the street people look at him and say ‘there goes the champion’, and he likes that. Today he’s got to take care of an Italian champion and he’s just one of the contenders making the fatal mistake of getting in the ring with ‘the man’. He hasn’t forgot about ‘Chief’ and is going to take care of him too. I’m afraid I’m bored of these now, same old, same old. Interesting idea of him getting the spot against Flair at the Clash instead of the JYD. After seeing these promos, and giving him a defined focus on Flair as opposed to just being generic, I certainly think he would have been better than the Dog was.
  11. Kerry says that a lot of the time he doesn’t have time to stop and talk to people at the Sportatorium, but with the ‘Kerry Von Erich hotline’ you can ask him anything, and he means anything! Call 1-900-446-3434 to ask him a question or just hear his voice! This one is definitely marketed towards the young females who might have a crush on Mr Von Erich!
  12. This is the same match as the one from 6/1, although the on screen graphics say ‘last night’ so something is wrong somewhere. Bill Dundee and Tessa are out for an interview with Craig Johnson and Dundee says that he doesn’t know if these people believe in love at first sight, but it happened with him and the lovely Tessa. He tells John Tatum that if he’d treated Tessa right in the first place she would still be with him. He’s not sure if he knows how to treat a lady, but ‘The Superstar’ does and they’re thinking about getting married. He then promises Tatum that if he ever puts his hands on Tessa again he’ll kill him! This relationship is moving fast if they’re already thinking about getting wed!
  13. Borne is bleeding from the forehead here, so not sure if this was taped the same night as the cage match or what? He tells Kerry that this is the way that it should’ve been in the first place, none of these silly stipulations with Percy Pringle suspended above the cage, and he’s going to get him next Friday night. Percy then says that he knows Fritz is sat at home on the couch next to Doris watching this. Chris is the only son he’s got left (not quite!) and he tells him that he better come down here and drag him away, because if he doesn’t he’s going to have another one that’ll end up six feet under!!! Percy says that he can’t take it anymore and these people have turned against him. He managed Eric Embry and there wouldn’t be a USWA if it wasn’t for him! He’s losing his mind and these people know what happens when he loses his mind. There have been some crass comments and remarks made this year, but Pringle has just made the crassest of them all. It takes a fair bit to shock me after seeing those Lawler promos accusing other wrestlers of being on steroids, or the Horseman’s race baiting stuff, but I was shocked on hearing this.
  14. Chris looks as though he’s been crying. Despite all the racism and homophobia in this set, it’s these Chris interviews that are the most uncomfortable to watch. He says he was humiliated after what happened the other night with Matt Borne and he didn’t want to leave his parents ranch. He felt like he had let everybody down, but then remembered something his father and his brothers always taught him, when you fall off a horse, get straight back on. He’s here to see Kerry give Matt Borne just what he deserves, when out comes Percy Pringle laughing at Chris. Craig Johnson tries to tell Percy that this is Chris’ interview time, but Pringle says isn’t the ‘little man’ ashamed of himself? Doesn’t he know that his mother and father are at home right now watching him out here? Chris calls him ‘Mr Pringle’ and says that he’s not here to cause any trouble. Percy says that ‘Mr Pringle’ is right and he’s glad Fritz taught him some manners, but he knows Fritz is upset and ashamed of him because he’s no man! He still buys his clothes at the boys department in K-Mart and he ought to slap him right now! Percy goes to slap him but Chris blocks it and gets a knee up flooring Percy. Matt Borne is out and grabs Chris, but Kerry is immediately out to help his brother. Kerry and Matt have a hot looking brawl while a bunch of jobbers try to keep them apart. At the same time Percy and Chris square up to one another with plenty of posturing but not much else. Chris’ promo was decent and I enjoyed Percy on the mic here. I think he’s the one person I’ve gone back and forth on the most in the Yearbook. One segment I like him, the next I can’t stand him and that irritating voice of his. From the way that they were squaring up to one another I’m not holding out much hope for the Percy/Chris matches when we get there. Good segment over all.
  15. We join the match with both men outside the ring. Austin press slams West and drops him on the arena floor. He follows by giving him a gut wrench, a suplex and finally a bodyslam all on the hard wooden floor of the Sportatorium. He then puts a full nelson on West and Jeannie starts clocking him full force in the face with punches. Tony Falk has seen enough and disqualifies Austin. Chris Adams and Toni run down to save West, but Austin and Jeannie see them coming and take off before they can get to them. They check on West before Toni takes the mic. She wonders what Jeannie’s problem is? A long time ago they used to be friends and then all of a sudden she showed up out of nowhere. What does she want? She then tells her that she’s going to stop interfering in their matches and she’s going to stop trying to ruin Chris’ career. She’s got a lock of Jeannie’s hair which I’m guessing was ‘pulled out’ in their previous brawl, and she vows that if Jeannie ever interferes again, that is only a small part of what is going to happen to her. It’s over next time she gets a hold of her! Adams then challenges Austin and Jeannie (on Toni’s behalf) anywhere, any place, any time! I don’t know what was more brutal, those bumps that West took on the arena floor or those shots he took from Jeannie! Adams cuts a promo after Toni, but it’s definitely starting to feel like he’s playing second fiddle to his wife now.
  16. Sting, Junkyard Dog and Paul Orndorff are with Jim Ross, and Ross says that here is unity here in the NWA and there are people who are prepared to stand up against the Four Horsemen. Orndorff is hyped, JYD says that the best man will win on Wednesday night and Sting refers to their group as the ‘Dudes With Attitudes’. He tells the Horsemen to continue trying to jump and sneak attack all they want because it isn’t going to get them anywhere as they will always be there.
  17. Arn Anderson, Barry Windham and Sid Vicious are with Jim Ross and Ross runs down the Horsemen’s matches at Clash of the Champions XI. Windham says that the Junkyard Dog is going to need all the help he can get because the World champion is not going to bow down to a man that is lesser than him. He’s got Lex Luger, he’s got Sting and he’s got Paul Orndorff, but it won’t make any difference. As for his match with Doug Furnas, he’s a little short of smarts and the Horsemen will take care of him easily. Arn is sick and tired of this collusion against the Horsemen and doesn’t know who died and made the JYD, Sting, Luger and Orndorff the guardian angels of the NWA! If they want to play stack the deck, if they want to jump on the Horsemen, at the Clash their theory is divide and conquer. You don’t become an elite athlete unless you’re an elite individual, and you don’t become a Horsemen unless you earn it. He doesn’t know who they think they are, but vengeance will be theirs, so if they want to jump them at the Clash, they’ll be waiting. As for Rocky King, this human liquorice stick that came out here walking, talking and mentioning his name on TV? He’s his better, and where he comes from, they don’t associate with your kind and they certainly don’t talk to you. If you mention his name you’ll get squashed and that’s the bottom line Back on TBS and Ole is now with the rest of the Horsemen. He can’t believe that they let a guy like Rocky King come down and interfere in the match. Jim Ross talks about ‘interfering’, but what about his so called ‘superheroes’? Ross says that Ole came down first, but his response is that they had a man in the match and he just came down to watch and advise. Arn doesn’t know what project he came from or who he thinks he is, but Rocky King has signed his death warrant. He knows that Ross has the authority and he wants King on national TV today as it’s time for his attitude adjustment. Ross says that they have got the Midnight Express allocated for that time slot, but Ole says that he’ll talk to Cornette and get it sorted. Windham isn’t happy with Sting, JYD and Orndorff interfering in his match and they’re all now on the list, and they’re all going to have to pay some dues. Arn then says if Sting is the man he says he is, he wants him out here right now as it is time to put up or shut up! Arn, generally, was really great here, but could have done without him cutting a racist promo on King. Sid continues to just stand in the background wearing his tuxedo.
  18. Herd says that since Capital Combat there has been a steady stream of cards, letters and phone calls asking for an explanation as to why the Four Horsemen, Ole Anderson and Woman can seemingly dictate what happens at various venues across the country. They’ve had a meeting and have fined the Horsemen, suspended Woman indefinitely and there is an ongoing investigation into what part Ole Anderson played in the fiasco at the end of Capital Combat. Jim Ross has said that Ole had commandeered the winches that controls the raising and lowering of the cage, but at the moment they haven’t found any proof that was the case. Herd says that if they find that Ole did play a part in that, he will be suspended indefinitely from any wrestling or announcing duties that he may have with World Championship Wrestling. The Horsemen respond and Ole is adamant that he had nothing to do with that cage. He says that he knows a few lawyers himself and before he kicks him out of any job, Jim Herd better listen to what his lawyers have to say. Arn says that it is the same old story, Lex Luger crying foul because he couldn’t beat the champion. They tried stacking the deck with a machine and an eight foot giant, because as always, it’s The Horsemen vs The World. He tells Luger, Sting, the Junkyard Dog and Paul Orndorff not to go singing the blues to the front office, if you want to be a man, stand up, be a man, and get it done on your own. Windham claims it was one of those idiots that Herd hired to work at his PPV events who raised the cage, and they just took advantage of the situation. If Jim Herd wants to check into their backgrounds he better look into his own, as he might end up being the one taking the hike! I liked the idea of having Herd in front of the camera to stress how important this announcement was, but he comes off like a poor man’s Jack Tunney. I knew she was gone simply by the fact that she wasn’t with them on recent interviews, but after all the build, her ‘manhunt’, this was a pretty weak way to write Woman out. Not sure what was up with Windham here, but he looks like he was on something.
  19. A taped Lawler promo where he is in front of a green screen that makes it look like he is walking though fire. He says that The Snowman, or ‘home boy’, has been stood out here for weeks with his hand out like he always does, but lately that hand has been getting filled. First of all he came in here wanting a World title match, that he didn’t deserve because he’s not a contender, but he had his hand out and somehow got that title match. He couldn’t get the job done, so he stuck his hand out again and said that he’s got to have his own special referee. He got his hand filled again and he still couldn’t win the title. Now he’s got that hand out one more time and he’s got Kerry Von Erich coming in to referee this match, and everyone knows that Kerry hates his guts because he’s the man who beat him for the World Class championship and took his title away. He thinks that he’s got it all stacked in his favour now, but Lawler tells him what happens in winter time when you build yourself a nice, big Snowman and the sun comes out and the heat starts shining down on that Snowman? That Snowman starts melting, dwindling and getting smaller until there is absolutely nothing left of it. He’s going to turn up the heat Monday night at the Coliseum and make things so hot that he’ll have second thoughts about ever asking for another title match with the ‘King of Wrestling’. Strange having Lawler cut this in front of that green screen. Was it all just for the punch line about Snowmen melting? There is a definite dynamic change here, as although he has officially been a heel all year, he was behaving and acting like a face in the first few weeks of this feud. There is a clear attempt to portray and make it clear that he is a heel here. Another good interview from Lawler in the build for the next match between these two.
  20. Dave Brown announces that Kerry Von Erich will be the special guest referee for this week’s match between Jerry Lawler and The Snowman, although he’s not comfortable with Kerry being the official due to his history with ‘The King’. He asks The Snowman for his comments and The Snowman is almost apologetic for his behaviour these past few weeks, but believes that the only way you can achieve something in life is by going out and taking it (he doesn’t mean robbing something though!). He claims that he has Jerry Lawler beaten both times, and while he lets Jerry Calhoun off, he implies that Lou Winston was paid to make sure that he didn’t win that match. He thinks, that as an official, Lou shouldn’t have hit him and wonders why he was even refereeing a World title match in the first place as he’s never beaten anyone. Snowman then asks Eddie Marlin to come out (presumably to save this segment which is going down the pan fast). The Snowman says how he doesn’t want these people refereeing his match, but Marlin tells him that in Kerry Von Erich he’s got a man who hates Jerry Lawler just as much as he does, and he should be jumping up and down to have that man in the ring. Marlin says that the only way to win this match is by pinfall, no technical losses, and if The Snowman wins, he’ll get up in that ring and strap the belt around his waist himself. Snowman says that he felt Marlin was bias, but he’s set the record straight just now and the two of them shake hands. Marlin just about saves this segment as Snowman was bad here. He waffles and doesn’t explain himself clearly at all. After the last few weeks and seeing the presentation of Snowman as this strong heel, it’s weird to see the dynamic change as he’s practically a face here, apologizing for his actions and shaking Eddie Marlin’s hand. Interested to see what happens next as I can’t help but feel this has happened too quickly.
  21. This is a rematch from last week’s must see match at the Mid-South Coliseum. Lou Winston is the special referee and unfortunately this one is only shown in clip form. It’s a similar in vane match with lots of swinging punches and takedowns, although you can clearly see that they are working as opposed to last week, which had a more realistic vibe. Winston twice has to pull Snowman off Lawler and the finish is another DQ as Snowman ends up hitting him (although I couldn’t tell whether this was accidental or on purpose). Lawler and Snowman go at it again after the match and Snowman again hits Winston, although this time it was definitely on purpose. That results in him getting involved in the fight and Snowman and Winston end up brawling at ringside, with Eddie Marlin and a couple of officials coming out to tray and separate them. Back in the studio and Lou Winston joins Dave Brown. Lou says how he said he would referee the match and he wouldn’t put his hands on either Jerry Lawler or The Snowman, but he didn’t want them putting their hands on him either. He tells The Snowman that if there is anything left after Jerry Lawler gets through with him then he’ll be looking for him. I’m not a fan of clipped matches, unless it is obvious that what airs in clipped form would be better than the full thing (like that Lawler vs Valiant bout from the Coliseum), and after last week I’m not sure that would be the case with this one. Whilst this was still good and again completely different from anything else going on at the time, I think last week was the better ‘fight’ of the two so far.
  22. Ted says that what’s been communicated to him so far about the Big Bossman is what a fair and honest man he was, and what a just Prison Guard he was at the Cobb County Correctional Institute. He’s here in Cobb County to prove that wasn’t the case, as he has a man with him who tells a different story. The gentleman is shovelling dirt and says how he spent time in the Cobb County Correctional Institute. He says that the Bossman wasn’t fair or honest, and that he used to come in his cell at night, handcuff and beat him. When Dibiase suggests that it sounds like the Big Bossman treated him like a dog, the gentleman says that nobody treats a dog like that. Dibiase then says that this is an example of the Big Bossman’s justice, a man reduced to shovelling dirt, and that is just what the Big Bossman is, a great big pile of dirt! We return to the arena and Vince McMahon says that although their cameras followed Ted Dibiase to Cobb County earlier in the week, later that week they sent Gene Okerlund on assignment to talk to some people. Okerlund is at the same location, and says that there were so many contradictions in the testimony of that gentleman that he would like to speak to him himself. He finds the foreman and says that the Million Dollar Man was out here recently talking to a man who was shovelling sand in that pile. The foreman says how he hasn’t had anybody doing any shovelling for him. Gene states that this man was a former prison inmate at the Cobb County Correctional Institute and he tells him that no former prison inmates work here. Okerlund wonders if by chance the foreman knows the Big Bossman and he says that he does. He’s a very fine man and if it wasn’t for him he wouldn’t have this job. Hmmmm, Gene smells a rat!
  23. Steve Austin has got a new robe and Jeannie looks seriously fucking hot! They see Chris Adams stood on his own in the ring and wonder ‘where his bimbo wife is now?’ as they don’t see her. Austin and Jeannie enter the ring, but from the back comes Toni and she makes a beeline straight for Jeannie. The women have another ECW-style catfight while the men also go at it. When Austin finally gets an advantage, he pulls Toni off Jeannie and throws her to the canvas. Adams and Austin go at it again, then so do Jeannie and Toni. The women don’t hold back one bit with each other! Austin once more drags Toni off Jeannie and matchmaker John Brozell is out and into the ring. Brozell is not the most charismatic of men, telling them in his monotone voice to ‘cut it out’ and ‘hold them back’. He says that the matches were signed between Chris Adams and Steve Austin, not the women, and if there is any more outside interference he will bar them all from the Sportatorium. The crowd are going wild for Toni at this point, chanting her name as Chris prevents her from going after Jeannie. Brozell is finally able to get some sort of control out there and they ring the bell to start the match. The match has only gone just over a minute when Austin goes to hit Adams, who ducks, and he accidentally hits Bronco Lubich instead. Adams with a clothesline off the middle turnbuckle, when in comes Jeannie to make the save. Adams sees her coming though, grabs her, puts her over his knee and starts spanking her. Needless to say Jeannie’s involvement bring Toni back in, but while spanking Jeannie, Adams misses seeing Austin tie his wife up in the ropes. Jeannie slaps Toni but this seems to accidentally free her and the four of them are back fighting in the ring. Austin manhandles Toni again, puts Chris in a full nelson and Jeannie starts slapping him, good and proper this week! Toni comes to Chris’ aid and when the woman go at it yet again, Austin appears to have had enough. He pulls Toni off Jeannie and they head to the back with Toni running after them. I’ve mentioned previously that I thought Austin was coming out on top too often in this feud, even if he loses he would leave Adams beaten and layed out post-match. Now after watching this (and reading garretta’s post), I’m of the opinion that Adams is being super generous and booking this so everyone looks strong but himself. You only have to hear the crowd response to Toni, who is more over here in just her second appearance, than Chris is. Even in the small things like having her being the one who chases after Austin and Jeannie, while Chris walks back. Kudos to him for trying to make three new stars at his own expense. Jeannie continues to shine in this segment, and I liked the way she was running her mouth and goading Toni whilst stood behind Austin when Brozell was in the ring.
  24. It’s Lee Marshall! A very similar interview to one he’s done in the USWA talking about the Unified World title. All the other champions are just company champions and will only wrestle people in their own organization. He on the other hand is the Unified World champion, and that means that any wrestler from anywhere in the world can come in and take a shot at it. He’s open to all comers, will take on anyone and invites Marshall to name someone. Marshall reels off Kerry Von Erich, Steve ‘Gator’ Keirn and finally Brickhouse Brown, but ‘The King’ doesn’t seem overly keen on any of them and just says that they know his door is wide open and all they have to do is put their name on the dotted line and he’ll beat them 1-2-3.
  25. Steve Austin and Jeannie are out for an interview with Craig Johnson and he says about how the barbed wire match took quite a toll on both of them, but Austin doesn’t want to talk about that, he wants to talk about his favourite subject in the world, himself! He’s on his way to the top, he’s proven that over and over again, and with Jeannie by his side he can’t be beaten. He’s beaten Chris Adams in a cage match, in a barbed wire match, scientifically, every which way he can! He was supposed to face him again last night but he’s a coward and chickened out claiming he’s got a neck injury. He ended up adding Billy Joe Travis to his list instead, and he’ll walk on everyone he has to walk on on his way to the top, because that’s where he is heading. Jeannie says how she told everyone that Chris Adams was a coward and it was proven last night. She has another picture for her book and then cuts the same promo about all the overweight husbands at home with their wives drooling over her. Adams makes his way to the ring and he’s wearing a neck brace. He tells Jeannie that if she thinks she’s got rid of him she’s got another thing coming, but while he goes off at her she continually is poking him in the chest. He attacks Austin and the two of them fight around ringside and eventually into the ring, with Jeannie cheerleading her man on. Adams is getting the better of things, he whips Austin into the ropes ready to give him a backdrop, but Austin comes back with a clubbing blow to the back of the neck instead. He rips the neck brace off and ties Adams neck up in the ropes. Jeannie steps into the ring, Austin puts a full nelson on Adams and she starts slapping him across his face. As she continues to paintbrush him, the crowd start going wild and its TONI ADAMS running down the aisle. She goes straight for Jeannie, slugs her and then slaps Austin too. Austin goes after her but Adams takes him down and it’s an ECW-style catfight between the women. Austin pulls Toni off Jeannie and throws her to the canvas and the two of them make their escape with Jeannie in hot pursuit. We then get an interview from Toni and she says that she’s back and tells Jeannie to listen and to listen carefully. She insulted her family, she’s hit Chris, she’s tried to ruin his career and now she thinks she’s going to try and ruin their marriage? She’s had enough and next time Jeannie ever tries to interfere, she’ll be there! I always talk about seeing the improvement in Austin week on week, but you can see it in Jeannie here. For the first time she comes across comfortable in front of the camera, and she really is that bitch that they want her to be. She’s great at ringside, plays her role perfectly, it’s just those damn slaps that need some work on. Great to have Toni finally join the feud and she certainly doesn’t need any help with her slaps! Decent fired up little promo from her at the end also.
