Loss Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 Kind of a weak promo, as it seemed clear at this point they were out to make Shawn a completely different guy than he was when he got over. Sugary sweet and too deferential to Bret, which I guess they were doing because they were worried about Bret fans turning on him. Still, it didn't work. Quote
PeteF3 Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 "The Leader of the NEW WWF Generation," take 3. No way *this* one can fail. Very Great American Bash '90 celebratory interview where the former champ gets put over the most, though Shawn cutting Vince off--"I'm the champ, I ain't done talking! I've been waiting 11 years for this!"--was amusing. Quote
Dooley Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Kind of a weak promo, as it seemed clear at this point they were out to make Shawn a completely different guy than he was when he got over. Common thread with every post-Hogan babyface champ until Austin. Quote
Dooley Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 Fair play. I'll lean on "exception that proves the rule" Quote
PeteF3 Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 Looking back on it now I'm amazed that Razor Ramon was able to keep his edge (heh heh) upon turning babyface. It *could* be done. Quote
soup23 Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Yeah, this wasn't good as the first promo after the title win. I was pumped too as Shawn came out and the girls were going crazy in the ring. Then he starts talking and sounds so phony and all of that goodwill leaves. Quote
dawho5 Posted November 30, 2024 Report Posted November 30, 2024 I thought when he got fired up about Diesel at the end it worked. Up until then I wasn't buying anything he was selling. Quote
