Eddie Gilbert attacks Terry Funk with a chair, then they go to commercial break.

 

Later in the show, Funk comes back after Gilbert and they brawl everywhere. Funk does a great fired up promo.

Just a good set up for a feud.

Funk is about to interview who I think is Hunter Q. Robbins III when he's clobbered by Eddie Gilbert with a chair. Funk returns the favor during a Gilbert interview later. Things would get crazier than this, but the hardcore element to ECW was pretty much pushed from the start.

Gilbert blindsides Funk with a chair shot. Gilbert's then in a match where he was bloody and Funk comes and lays him out with a chair. Funk then with a promo wanting to go at Gilbert. Solid set up for that feud.

Old school set up but effective stuff. Funk vs. Gilbert feels like a program that would help jump start a promotion.

Actually, the Funk-Gilbert feud had been going on for a while in Philly; we have examples of their matches on the '92 set.

 

There wasn't much here except the chair shots and Terry's promo, which is an excellent example of the crazy old man character that he'd play throughout the nineties.

 

I liked the chaotic feel to this brought about by the less-than-perfect production values, suh as the audio acting up and the announcers screaming about getting control.

 

I can't wait to see where this goes next; I have a feeling that it'll be straight to hell (in a good way).
