Rocco Rock stresses that PE aren't here for fun, they're here for the NWA Tag Titles. Quite the jarring contrast to the more familiar image of Public Enemy. Grunge seems awfully apprehensive and blows his partner's name.

Dangerously has the cap on, slowly morphing into the more familiar ECW Paul E. He talks of blood and guts but still sells pain when he slams the phone against his hand.

Public Enemy definitely seem serious here. I don't remember a whole lot about them, but as some others have said, what I do remember is a lot goofier than this.

Are we sure that Rocco's name wasn't originally supposed to be Rocco Rumble, only to be changed before they debuted? It's hard to imagine Johnny making that big of a slip of the tongue about the name of his own partner.

What is there to hate about Matty at this point, AJ? The man barely opened his mouth in the segment.

Interesting to hear Heyman downplaying bloodshed and violence in favor of "real" wrestling, considering how ECW was about to make its reputation.

Was the part where Paul hit his hand so hard on the phone an accident, or was it planned that way? Regardless, I like how he didn't let the pain stop him.

As a Pittsburgher, I enjoyed hearing the city put over, even if it was by a heel manager.

I guess no video exists of these two cards, which is too bad because it sounds like some pretty big stars came in.

I have been watching the early days of ECW lately, and Matty....oooh. This guy just burns my ass up. One of the most absolutely obnoxious people I have ever seen in wrestling. His constant screaming and mugging, oh god. I wanted to throw something at my screen and have it, somehow, go through the sands of time and nail him in his smug, ugly, Howard Stern-knock-off-morning-DJ/low-level coke dealer face. He had to be investing money or something.
I dont hate him as much as, say, Vince Russo or the Young Bucks but he's up there in the Todd Pettingill level of hate.
