Loss Posted June 21, 2011 Author Report Posted June 21, 2011 Mr. Monopoly, who wants to eliminate all competition, is actually a pretty good gimmick idea. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Mr. Monopoly. Vince missed out on using that gimmick name for himself. Quote
PeteF3 Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 This patronizing announcer continues to make the bile rise in my throat, though I suppose with videos like this it'd be hard to blame him. Quote
garretta Posted January 22, 2017 Report Posted January 22, 2017 I've heard the narrator before, Pete. He's done most of the WCW voiceovers since Turner bought the company, and I think I've also heard him on some non-wrestling stuff for TBS too. I agree with everyone about Mr. Monopoly; that might have been a good name for DiBiase if he'd come to WCW about this time. They're batting around .500 with these, if you can believe it. There's at least the germ of good ideas or pieces of talent in quite a few of these videos so far. We know Matt Hardy made it, and WCW used the High Voltage name later, so that's two segments that actually turned into something out of nine so far, plus at least one other gimmick that could have worked with Mr. Monopoly and at least one other guy who might have made a decent wrestler with training. That's not a bad percentage any way you slice it, especially when there were probably quite a few submissions that were total crapola. Quote
soup23 Posted May 21, 2017 Report Posted May 21, 2017 Mr. Monopoly is a gimmick that is calling for a CHIKARA run. This was worse than the offering from the week before. Quote
