Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Nothing really memorable about this segment to me, but people do remember it, so it's on here. Vince's fake laughing is farther over the top than in any segment I can ever recall him in.
Phil Austin
I'd actually never seen this, so I did pop for the Shatner spot!
Tim Evans
This is one of my first Raw memories. Also pop for Shatner's monkey flip.
Zenjo
Yeah I marked out for the legend that is William Shatner appearing on Raw. Plus he stood up to the King and showed some moves. If he'd have started singing after grabbing the mic then it would've been an all time favourite moment I think.
PeteF3
I observed this in the previous match, but it is refreshing to see Raw coming from a big arena with a sizable-looking crowd for once. Lawler's a pro, and this is decent enough for what it is, but it sure isn't as entertaining as the braying laugh track portrayed by Vince McMahon thinks it is. And so the idea of Lawler as any kind of threat comes to a permanent end. Interesting that Bret gets the star rub here and not Diesel. Is that because of the mutual Canadian-ness? Was the original Star Trek a little too fresh and recent to be on Big Daddy Cool's radar?
Robert S
This was surprisingly entertaining for what it was. I find it also quite remarkable that Shatner got as physical as doing the monkey flip (well, looked more like a tomoe nage to me) considering he was in his mid 60ies here. Superstar Sleeze
Watched this while I was writing my Owen/Razor review, Vince’s personal laugh track stood out to me as well. Lawler did a great job and Shatner held his own. I am not sure how this became legendary also me being a Millennial I know who Capt Kirk is and have seen some of the Original Star Trek but maybe that’s why it is not as big of a deal. This seems to kick off the Bret/Lawler feud that would last until about October. WOW!
