The pink 80s backdrop for this promo cracks me up. Anyway, they announce that Chris Benoit is the newest Horseman, and Flair can't be bothered to show up, which deflates the announcement.

This was probably the laziest way to introduce a Horseman ever.

You mean worst that Paul Roma showing up ?

In a strictly introduction sense, yes. At least Roma got a live debut with all the tuxedos, pomp and circumstance. Benoit gets a fricking pre-tape that Flair doesn't even show up for.

Well, you're right then. Never saw the actual Roma introduction.

Yeah this was pretty lazy and for some reason, Pillman does most of the talking.

Oh fuck, yes indeed it's pretty lame. Pink setup. No Flair. Pre-tape. Arn talked about "Nakanishi", which probably no one understood since he was simply named Kurosawa at the time (Dusty even made fun of it afterward).

Holy shit, it's the Pink Room of Death from the dying AWA. Or a motel room with rates by the hour. Benoit as a "whiskey-drinking skirt chaser" is not a characterization that I think fits. And boy is he not a smooth talker--not that that's news to anyone. Pillman and Arn are good but this is a horribly produced segment.
