Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
There are more exciting and probably better matches on the show, but I thought this one had the most substance. I dug all the matwork and the slower pace, because it put the final over as a bigger deal. It's not a great match, but it's nice solid work befitting of its place on the card. Tim Evans
FAT GEDO!!! My favorite match I've seen from this tourney so far.. Gedo had a good performance and moved around real good for a guy his size. Crazy to think he looked like this compared to how he looks now
PeteF3
WHICH GUY IS STRONGEST IN JUNIOR HEAVY CLASS? Oh, I don't think there was much doubt about this going in. Liger does an awesome job of tearing Gedo's arm apart, in accordance with Loss' wishes. They go for a bit of the old Liger-Honaga magic here, but Gedo doesn't have Honaga's sleazy panache and doesn't execute a lot of his high-end offense, so this isn't as strong as those matches. It's a worthy enough finale, thanks to a long and fast-paced closing stretch, but this is another carrying performance by the night's clear MVP, Jushin Liger. El-P
Well, actually, it is a great match. And Liger made my buy Gedo could get the absolute upset again. This man was brillant. And Gedo had the performance of his life, after three other matches. Nice, crisp matwork leading to one of the best nutshot I've seen. Build and timing goes a long way. Then : finishings stretch, the third amazing one for Liger in the same night, with callbacks to how Gedo won the other two big matches against Caras & Pegasus. Hence, it was believable even on Liger. Love the participants around the ring cheering for both guys, especially Fuyuki & Jericho cheering on Gedo. The finish looked brutal. Liger, yes. I had forgotten. Zenjo
Okay so Gedo was out of shape, wore hideous attire and looked like a complete Jabroni. So probably not the best choice of finalist. He would get a whole lot better in future years as a tag specialist. This was your Liger vs broom 101. A functional showpiece final.
