Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
DiBiase announced that he has signed Lex Luger. After some hesitation, Luger comes out, but Tatanka cuts him off before he can say anything, and says he can't believe Luger sold out. Tatanka and DiBiase have words. Luger tells DiBiase no deal and tells Tatanka he didn't sell out. Tatanka doesn't believe it. This was a unique angle that for whatever reason has been forgotten. Kevin Ridge
Everyone has a price for the Million Dollar Man as Ted says he can buy anything like when he bought the WWF title (nice history reference). He has now bought Luger as new member of corporation. Lex comes out to cheers and Tatanka comes out right away to confront Luger. Tatanka has his back to the camera for most of the interview. Luger was pretty straight up about not selling out to the corporation.
Exposer
Dibiase claims he's bought Luger. Luger hesitantly comes out and Tatanka interrupt the little gathering. Tatanka is ashamed of Luger and calls him a sellout. Luger says no deal and says he isn't a sellout. Tatanka isn't sure what to believe. This was definitely a unique angle. I didn't mind this but it's not something I care about.
soup23
For how stupid the Undertaker angle is, this is actually pretty clever and its kind of weird how Luger was involved in this and the 1996 Sting angle which to me are both pretty high concept angles for wrestling. BackToBionic
Luger is so good at the "will he turn/won't he turn" angles he's done about a million of them over the years. The Tatanka stuff is a good added bonus though. I didn't see it coming as a kid. Not sure if that says more about my naivety or what though lol
PeteF3
Shawn has eschewed hotel puns for Tom Brokaw/news references. Luger takes his time making his entrance, and when he does he...points to the crowd. Not exactly going out of your way to deny Ted's proclamation, Lex. Luger is SO whiny here. After stringing Tatanka and us along, he wants to browbeat Tatanka for not trusting him. I always liked this angle, but this did nothing to dispel my belief they should have just turned Lex outright.
