I'm used to these two having pretty long matches, so it was nice to see what they could do with less than 10 minutes match. Hase tries to wrestle Hashimoto, and Hashimoto responds just by kicking the hell out of him for a few minutes. Hase catches him off guard with a massive upset. Not much of a match, but a nice moment.

Hase does not one but two giant swings on Hash. Shinya has enough of that and knees and kicks him to pieces. Becomes totally one sided and then out of nowhere Hase rolls him up. That was kind of cool. Not much else other than the random shock victory though.

Hase wrestles Hash on the mat then Hash kicks Hase really hard. Hase gets a flash pin for the big upset and the crowd is thrilled. The match was decent but the moment was great.

Enjoyed the opening mat work but I expected it to be setting the table for a long match, Hase getting the flash pin felt like a big moment and worked well in that he really caught the crowd, Hash, and myself by surprise. Really nice thing to do to add intrique to the G-1

Hash seems to be well on his way to avenging last year's G1 upset, only for Hase to bust out a crucifix to upset him again! This was more cute than good, but the sudden flash pin was appreciated.

Some fun early on with the giant swing. Hash was laying in the kicks as hard as usual. Everything was going along nicely before it ended out of the blue. Came across as a total fluke victory. Whilst shorter matches are a vital part of the G1, I'd rather they didn't do it in what was potentially one of the best bouts of the tournament.
