[1990-03-24-WWF-Superstars] Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior promos

I can't wait until Wrestlemania is over so I can stop suffering through these acid trips disguised as wrestling promos. Hogan has had it with Warrior's "Frankenstein talk", but Hogan isn't exactly doing good promos either.

This time Warrior goes first and Hogan gets a chance to respond. Hogan raises a good point with people getting sick of the Warrior's "Frankenstein talk" and blithering about injecting with poison. We get a callback to the infamous THIS IS WHERE THE POWER LIES promo. Both men basically promise to assimilate each other's fanbases.

I actually thought this was the best pair of promos in the buildup and they stayed on point more here especially the Warrior.

We switch things up with Warrior going on first. I really wonder how Warrior’s bizarre promos would get over with the younger audiences. Hogan is tired of hearing about Warrior injecting the Hulkamaniacs. He wants them to take the vitamins instead. I have been entertained by their promos but they are quite a bit out there as far as building your WrestleMania main event match.

"You know something, Ultimate Warrior? Me and all my Hulkamaniacs have had it right about up to here with all your Frankenstein talk, man!" There's the pot calling the kettle black.

 

Probably the least annoying out of all these promos, as they seemed to actually have more of a point and was not a bunch of paranoid psychopaths yelling in tongues at one another.

A little more sense is made here; Warrior is basically saying that he isn't scared of Hulkamania, but Hogan's scared to death of the power of the Warrior. Hogan doesn't need a translator; he says that he's the greatest WWF champion of all time, and he'll prove it to the Warrior at Mania VI.

 

Interesting that Warrior drops his experiment with that Brooklyn/Jersey accent he's been sporting the last few weeks; maybe this was done around the time that Vince decided that this really would be a face/face match. (I don't care if it's ever been reported or ever will be reported; I'm 100% convinced in my own mind that Warrior was going heel at some point until Vince changed plans midstream,)

The Warrior says he must take Hulk Hogan into his world, his darkness, somewhere Hulk Hogan can never return from. Those that stood with film over their eyes will now see clearly that Hulk Hogan had no choice, and had to surrender to the power of the Ultimate Warrior.

 

Hogan and all his Hulkamaniacs have had enough of all the Warrior’s Frankenstein talk (they’re not the only ones!). More talk about injecting poison, darkness and light, before saying that after Wrestlemania VI the Warrior is going to be a ghost. He says that Hulk Hogan is the greatest WWF Champion there was and ever will be, and after Wrestlemania he’s going to prove that to all the Warriors that still believe in him.

 

Boy do I hate these interviews! Thank God there is only one week left before Mania as I’ve had a gutful of this nonsense from these two.
