Loss Posted November 17, 2012 Author Report Posted November 17, 2012 The Boss Man feud is heating up. Wish we could have gotten a Summerslam payoff to this feud. DiBiase does a fired up interview. Quote
PeteF3 Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 Clips from SNME of DiBiase again jumping the Boss Man during a match with Akeem and handcuffing him to the ropes and beating him down. DiBiase promises that BBM will get the money he refused--stuffed right down his throat. If Boss Man truly did turn down "enough money to retire on" he kind of comes across as the bumpkin that DiBiase and Heenan claimed that he was. Quote
soup23 Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Good promo by Dibiase and 1990 may be his best year feud wise as the stuff we have seen with Jake and now Bossman fit his character well. Quote
Kevin Ridge Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 Okerlund introduces Virgil before DiBiase. Ted is not happy with Bossman for turning him down previously. Everybody has a price for the Million Dollar Man including Bossman. Quote
Cox Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Why didn't we get a SummerSlam payoff for this feud anyway? As it was, they gave Boss Man a lot to do on that card without actually wrestling a match, refereeing Jake vs Bad News for some reason and replacing Tugboat as Hogan's second against Earthquake. I guess they didn't want to beat either guy since DiBiase was moving on to Dusty and Boss Man was moving onto Rude, but it is a shame we didn't get a blowoff match on either SNME or SummerSlam between these two, as I imagine it would have been quite good. garretta Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 This is about as serious a promo as the Million Dollar Man character ever delivered, but the gimmick still hamstrings Teddy here a little. Even if he beats Bossman, that doesn't guarantee him the privilege of stuffing his money down Bossman's throat; look at what just happened with Jake. But as usual with Vince's gimmicks, having money is literally the only thing the Million Dollar Man is about, so Teddy just can't kick Bossman's butt and be happy with that. Of course, this would also allow either Teddy or Bossman to win without winning had Vince wanted it; as I just said, even if Teddy gets the three count on Bossman, as long as Bossman doesn't choke on Teddy's money, he can still claim victory. Also, I know that we're all dumb little Warriors who need constant reminders about what's going on in the WWF, but hasn't Bossman said loudly and repeatedly for weeks that he can't be bought? Did we really need Gene to have a "private conversation" with him to make the point again? Lastly, to answer Cox's question, I have no idea. Both Teddy and Bossman were busy with lots of other stuff at SummerSlam, but they could certainly have blown this off on the 7/28 SNME. As a matter of fact, they had a match at that taping which never aired, with Bossman pinning Teddy cleanly. Why Vince chose to air Kerry Von Erich squashing Buddy Rose instead is a mystery for screwier minds than ours to ponder. Quote
drew wardlaw Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Ted sounds like Dwid Hellion from Integrity here. Quote
GSR Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 Ted Dibiase and Virgil join Mean Gene and Dibiase has a face like thunder. Monsoon comments that he doesn’t look happy, but ‘The Brain’ assures us with all that money, he’s happy! Clips of Dibiase and Virgil jumping the Big Bossman on Saturday Night’s Main Event after he’d defeated Akeem air, and Ted says how he offered the Bossman the greatest opportunity of his life. He offered him enough money to retire on and all he had to do was retrieve his Million Dollar belt for him. Gene says how he’s spoken privately with the Bossman and he’s told him that he can’t be bought and doesn’t have a price. Dibiase says that everyone has a price for the Million Dollar Man including Gene Okerlund, including all these nickel and dime pinching peons here in the building and including the Big Bossman. He says that the Bossman will be on his knees grovelling for his money, but he’s going to put a whipping on him like he’s never seen and then shove that money down his throat. Quote
