Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
The show the contract signing from the UIC Pavillion in Chicago. The contract signing itself was surprisingly peaceful, but later in the night, Sting was facing a fake Black Scorpion and was attacked from behind by Sid, who hit him with a chair. This is capped off with a really strong Sid promo hyping Havoc.
PeteF3
Contract signing footage from Chicago. Sting's spectacular outfit is the product of what would happen if Bret Hart were a member of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. No attack at the contract signing, but there is one later on as Sid lays out Sting with a chair and then gives him a piledriver on it. Sid reminds us that he rules the world. soup23
Pretty standard stuff here with a contract signing and then a beatdown. It was not bad but not real inspiring to and Sting's first big defense is a mess with the Scorpion stuff hanging over everything.
Kevin Ridge
Sting wearing one of Michael Jackson’s jacket during a contract signing with Sid. Nobody gets attacked though. Very civil. Well, Sid came down later in the show to attack Sting. Sid with a piledriver on the chair! They had Ole talking over Flair earlier in the year and they are leaving Sid to do promos on his own. garretta
I liked both Sid promo segments, the one during the signing as well as the one after it; he's grown up on the mic without Ole to hold his hand. An attack at some point was expected after the signing went so smoothly, and we got that too. The only ominous thing about this segment was the reference to the Scorpion feud at the end. That's a clue that this match is going to end up being a mess; the only question is how big the mess is going to be. What a shame, as I don't think we ever got Sting/Sid again on any sort of big stage. Arn coming out to back up Sid was a nice touch, but I think Flair would have had a bigger impact on Sting. Should anyone deeply care, it was Al Perez under the Scorpion's mask in the clip we saw, according to Graham.
drew wardlaw
I forget, did Sid always wear a singlet during this time? Man, with a proper build (no black scorpion) this could have really felt like a big match. Sid has done a great job with these promos.
