Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Austin Idol claims that he is getting more headlines than Saddam Hussein and that he's in all the tabloids. I understand heels who lie and exaggerate, but come on. He talks about his bedroom eyes and sultry lips. He talks about his prospects for 1991, and he's much more optimistic about his chances than I am. Idol messed up the dates in his promo, so Gilbert corrects him before going on a tangent about New Years celebrations, Jerry Lawler, Bam Bam Bigelow and Memphis being his town now. He is on fire! PeteF3
Idol's delivery is great but is all about himself instead of the actual match. Einstein had a plan! Hussein had a plan! Hitler had a plan! IDOL HAS THE MASTER PLAN. Wow. Idol did get the date right at the end--the day after New Year's. Gilbert with more hype for the tag match Wednesday night. Kevin Ridge
Flash flood warning! It’s not Saddam Hussein getting the headlines it’s Austin Idol. Hussein the biggest heel of 1990. Idol has a Hitler reference too. Gilbert with the hard sell for the tag match. It’s his town. He's giving Lawler a good run for that title right now. soup23
Idol is someone that i have always liked the look better than promo ability and he stumbles his way through. Gilbert recovers for him and wraps up a great year of TV for the USWA with too much memorable stuff to list. When Lawler getting run over by a car may not make my top 5 segments of the year, the promotion was doing some great stuff.
garretta
This wasn't one of Idol's better promos. Bragging on yourself is one thing, but claiming to be bigger than a man who dragged the United States to the brink of war? Can't anybody in wrestling use the Iraq situation sensibly, for God's sake? This business is full of some of the most clueless people I've ever run across. Between the actual wrestlers, the announcers, and the promoters who employ them all, it's a wonder anyone with any intelligence can watch some of this stuff at all. When wrestling's good, it's very, very good. When it's bad, horrid isn't the word for it. Anyway, Eddie makes up for Idol's ramblings with a short and sweet warning to Lawler and Bam Bam and daring Bam Bam to come after the bounty on his head. Is Eddie the promo of the year for 1990? I would say that it's wither him or his idol, with Arn Anderson a rock-solid third.
