Loss Posted January 29, 2013 Author Report Posted January 29, 2013 One of those segments that shows how head and shoulders the WWF was above every other wrestling promotion in the world when it came to marketing their product. Vince McMahon is a genius - the greatest promoter who ever lived.
Ditch Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Vince McMahon is a genius - the greatest promoter who ever lived. We can argue about GOAT for wrestler or music act, but promoter... no contest.
shoe Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 This was awesome way to push toys, and where the toys are located .
PeteF3 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 All that--and while Okerlund's flaws as an interviewer are usually apparent, there's never been a greater barker in the business' history.
Kevin Ridge Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 Gene shows off WWF toys at Toys R’ Us. Lots of toys actually. How would you like to bonk Hulk Hogan? Okerlund and LOD do some shtick.
BackToBionic Posted March 25, 2013 Report Posted March 25, 2013 I still have that ring and the Hulk Hogan sleeping bag and God knows how many of those action figures I've had over the years.
soup23 Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Memories abound here. I definitely still have the Hogan wrestling buddy and my ring and a good bit of those figures.
garretta Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 I don't have any of the figures (I was an LJN child of the eighties), but this was a nice little tie-in commercial. Not too obnoxious, and with a clever cameo by Hawk and Animal. Stuff like this is why the WWF became synonymous with wrestling long before they were the only real game in town.
