They mention the date and city again! Twice in a row. It seems a little dated to be using the "every promoter in the country wanted this match" line in 1991. They are hyping a Flair/Windham vs Sting/Gigante match in Chicago.

It might come across dated, but it does add a little to the match in my eyes.

Sting and El Ji-gon-tee against Flair and Windham in a cage. I think even Gigante could be covered well in such a match.

Flair is wearing Gorilla Monsoon’s glasses. This match is getting hyped more than any PPV bout.

I like these one minute Flair hype promos. I don't like htat El Gigante was still getting main events

I liked the promo, especially the nod to Chicago's history of blood and extra-violent matches, but I agree that the "every promoter in the country" bit doesn't work anymore; even PWI, which was still a bastion of kayfabe in '91, ran their "Arena Reports" section, where the fans could see for themselves that the same matches, indeed the same finishes, were being run in towns across the country by both the WWF and WCW.

 

That nitpick aside, Flair's still at or close to the top of his game here, and you can see why WCW floundered without him when he left a couple of months later. I'm just glad Vince got hold of him while he still had some vintage performances left in the tank.
