Loss
WCW Action Figures! This is a very WWF-like commercial, which means it's well produced.
shoe
They do a good job marketing these towards the kiddies.
PeteF3
I suspect that this is where Jim Herd's strengths--such as they were--lay. It's a little sad how relatively ahead of the curve the AWA was in terms of action figure merchandising. Crockett and a bunch of other territories should have been all over that shit much earlier. Kevin Ridge
Commercial is almost exactly like they way WWF did their toy figure ads. WCW late to the party on merchandise.
soup23
these were really good action figures and actually complimented the Hasbro ones well in their positions. Sting especially was really good at giving The Undertaker powerslams in my dream cards.
garretta
This commercial was almost straight out of the LJN/WWF playbook of 1986, the only difference being that a wrestler (Sting) did the voiceover instead of an announcer (Vince). Surprisingly, Sting was very good here; watching this, I wish that he could do his promos as consistently well. Regarding the AWA and action figures, who would have thought that Verne would be ahead of the curve when it came to any aspect of wrestling merchandising? Too bad it didn't do him any more good than it did, which was very little.
