Rick Rude is met by "You Sold Out" chants. ECW fans sure are original. A "Fuck Him Up Joey, Fuck Him Up" chant breaks out, which Joey begs them to stop doing in a funny moment. Joey eventually bails and turns the mic and ring over to Rude. Rude compares going from the WWF to ECW to going from the penthouse to the shithouse, then introduces Shane Douglas. Everyone involved gets in a few digs at Shawn Michaels. ECW fans are a classy bunch, starting a "She's got herpes!" chant at Francine because she refuses to show her tits.

 

The story is that Douglas wants Rude to push him to be the best ECW champ of all time by finding top opponents. So Rude brings out Al Snow.

Rude gets a hearty ECW crowd welcome. Joey’s reaction to the “Fuck Him Up” chant was fun. Styles wants nothing to do with Rude and bails. Shane’s genitals are holding up 16 pounds of gold. Rude has found Douglas an opponent in Al Snow but we don’t see the match.

Francine had some great heat around this time and has been raised overall in my eyes as a valet. Rude implying he was paid from services from her was a nice touch. Decent segment overall to introduce Douglas as champ.

A "Fuck Him Up Joey, Fuck Him Up" chant breaks out, which Joey begs them to stop doing in a funny moment.

This chant is pretty funny in hindsight considering that Joey laid out JBL.

I like Rude still getting a classic heel response with his old tricks and once again proving that the ECW fanbase was about 1/5 as clever as they thought they were, but I tuned out once Shane was intro'd.
