Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Vince has something to say to Austin after what happened last week and they are teasing hard that Austin is about to get fired. Vince's acting is really good here, as he's trying to stand up to Austin but you can tell he's a little nervous. Vince has three options for Austin: (1) Bring a certificate from his doctor next week that says he's capable of wrestling (which won't happen) (2) Sign a document to completely absolve the WWF from any liability over any injuries he might face if he returns to active competition (3) Termination Austin's response is that no doctor knows his neck better than he does or he may sign Vince's little paper or may shove it up his ass. He also says if Vince fires him in front of the world, he will beat Vince's ass in front of the world. Again, how is Vince not in the right here? Kevin Ridge
I thought Vince should a lot of restraint after getting stunned previous week. He gives Austin three options about his future in the WWF. Could have just fired him. Even after being given options, Austin gives McMahon the double bird. Vince’s facial expression showed signs he was going to have lots of trouble with Austin.
soup23
Damn I had forgotten how much magic these two had in Fall 1997 as this is a great segment to allow Austin to do his thing without wrestling in any matches. Vince lays out three options for Austin and the crowd is wanting Austin to get physical again.
PeteF3
Vince probably *is* in the right, as many of the great heels are--his eventual mistake will be in continuing to try to keep Austin in line, he'll take things too far. Again, as what happens with many heel turns. The chemistry between these two is already there and this is a fine, tension-filled segment. Exposer
Great segment. Austin comes out first & calls Vince into the ring in a nice touch. Both are really great here. Vince gives Austin three options for next week. The first is to bring a doctor's signature clearing him to wrestle. The second is signing a waiver that allows him to wrestle but says the WWF has no responsibility if he gets hurt. The third is termination. Austin responds to each option the Austin way. He says if Vince fires him he'll beat him like he's never been beaten before. The antics after the interview are hilarious with Austin basically building up to giving Vince the middle finger at the announce booth which gets a big pop. Vince is very reasonable, but I think Austin is in the right too at least in the way that he wants to be able to make his own decisions including wrestling. Fans sympathized with that part of his character.
