Shawn and HHH come out in robes and the announcers tease that they are naked. For all the talk about the WWF just sticking to their guns and pushing new stars to turn business around, they sure tried some desperation tactics along the way that have been forgotten.

 

HHH messes up so many words in the English language that I don't even know where to begin. DX warn the NAO to stay out of their business because they are the ones that deserve credit for ending the Legion of Doom as a tag team, and the NAO have no right to be the ones bragging about it. HHH wants Owen and I am immediately reminded of how much I hated this one-sided feud.

 

Shawn starts in on the Undertaker and the crowd is very responsive to that since they are reigniting what was a hot feud. Then DX strips to their holiday boxers and then take them off completely. They seem to want people at home to think they are naked on TV as they have big CENSORED signs over their midsections.

 

This brings Sgt. Slaughter out and DX put their robes on. Shawn and Hunter do their normal Slaughter mocking. Slaughter points out that Shawn hasn't defended the European title in months and requires him to defend the title tonight on RAW or he will be stripped of the belt. The match is then made - Shawn vs Hunter. No one cares enough about Hunter for this to mean anything, as DX was a total Shawn vehicle. They tease Shawn/Hunter dissension to close out the segment.

Oh this. Michaels and Triple H wearing bath robes. Triple H urges Outlaws to stay out of DX’s business. They are already pushing Owen towards feuding with Triple H instead. Shawn brings up Undertaker. They then strip off the ropes and boxers as we get DX censor graphics on the screen. Shawn has a message for all the WWF superstars which is to kiss his ass. There is this brief cut to the crowd off this old couple and you have to see the guy’s facial expression. Slaughter makes a match between Triple H and Michaels for European title. Cornette thinks Michaels will probably hand over the title.

HHH was showing some signs of improvement but he has been fairly dreadful the past week. It is cliche to rag on the guy but this is bad. The robes thing didn't really resonate with me and I didn't see the purpose at all. I also hate how HHH is now getting heat on Owen as the crowd chants him up. A European title match between these two is made by Slaughter.

I do love the Lowell Auditorium--a nice intimate and different-looking venue. Another boring DX segment as these promos are becoming as formulaic as a Popeye cartoon. Slaughter actually ends up saving the segment if only because DX playing off of him is generally pretty reliably amusing. Triple H makes sure to try to kill off any heat the NAO got last week, because reasons or something. God knows we'll see plenty more of *that* for the next two decades. Then he shifts gears to Owen Hart and goes to the old late-'90s "You're gay, so perform oral sex on me" tack of idiot dudebros everywhere. The dissension at the end is the first fresh thing out of these two guys in two months.

DX come out in robes as fake snow falls on the screen. DX tell New Age Outlaws to not take credit for taking out LOD. HHH cuts a boring promo then Michaels cuts a slightly better one. They talk about how they are going to take care of Owen Hart & The Undertaker respectively. They remove their robes & boxers & are wearing thongs. It's poorly censored to make you believe they're naked. This is dumb. Slaugther comes out & makes a Euro Title match between Shawn & Hunter. The two of them don't like that & start to tease dissension. Boring segment.
