Loss
Talk about it here.
soup23
Luna vs. Sable being hyped as the main event was a ballsy move. I love intertwining storylines and this had them in droves. You had Sable wanting a piece of Luna with the hot crowd. Sable hurts her leg and Kane's music fires up. Mero bails and abandons his wife furthering that storyline. Then just as kane is going to attack Sable, we get the return of Undertaker and the Mania match is on. WWF feels so much hotter than WCW right now and peaking towards Mania. Loss
Sable and Luna in a pull-apart brawl. Luna was a good choice to help Sable get over. Awesome that Goldust took a bump for Luna. Sable has hurt her knee and Mero has to help her up when the lights go out and Kane's music starts. Mero ends up getting scared away and bailing, leaving Sable all alone to deal with Kane. Just when it appears all hope is lost, Undertaker's music starts up. Nice of Undertaker to show up and cut a promo, but dude, Sable needs help. The segment ends with Undertaker burning an effigy of Kane. This was a really hot segment, and is just about as 1998 WWF as it gets.
PeteF3
Yeah--hyping a future segment as a confrontation, as opposed to a match, is pure '98-'99 WWF. We get kind of a dopey pull-apart as the ring fills with suits whose appearance is about as nonsensical as their attempts to restrain Elizabeth at WrestleMania 8. Like, DX and the Outlaws have been running roughshod over everybody for 5 months, and Kane tombstoned a mascot on this same show, but they're out there to prevent a fight between these two? Anyway, Sable runs Luna off but gets her knee twisted in the process, and that draws out Kane. Marc Mero gallantly flees the scene to "go get help," but Undertaker makes threats from the TitanTron before Kane can do anything to Sable. Paul Bearer is having too much fun in this role. At least five major matches for WM all got lots of focus, time, and hype on this show.
TravJ1979
Even though Sable is terrible in every way, this was entertaining and just shows even the low level WM match stuff is hot as fire.
