Piper is officially useless. Age In The Cage just killed him. Hogan and Disciple jump him while Gene is interviewing him in the back.

Piper at this point being any sense of a main player is sad. He looks as dated as Gene in this interview and before the Hogan attacks, it feels like a backstage skit done at WrestleMania for nostalgia purposes. Hogan and Disciple attack and Hogan is really feeling unfocused and spread out at this point with issues with Sting, Nash, Piper, and Savage.

So is Piper an authority figure again? He gives a boilerplate promo about running Hogan out of wrestling which is so far away from being even a kayfabe possibility that it really undermines Piper to even make such a claim.

I had no use for Piper post 1986. He always played this rebel character that was just too cheesy. He still believed he was the Piper of the early 80's.
