Loss
Jericho starts a tradition of ripping up signs of fans that are supporting him. They show an old interview of Dean talking about his relationship with his father, and how his dad must be rolling in his grave. This is a scathing heel promo from Jericho - really great! Jericho then brings out his opponent, Bore Us Malenko, a guy parodying Dean Malenko by constantly making circular motions on his wrists. Jericho works a faux competitive match, even rolling this guy on top of him so he can have miracle kickouts. Hilarious! It takes some time to get the crowd into this, but we finally get a "Jericho Sucks" chant, although admittedly it's weak. I am guessing this was a little too high concept for this crowd, or they were just there to see the stars.
soup23
Screw these people, this was brillant and subtely puts over Malenko's strengths as a worker. I thought it was really smart of the announcers to keep referring to the legacy of Boris Malenko. The heat for Dean's return keeps being built up and Jericho kickingg out of his own pinfall attempt against him was hilarious. (*)
PeteF3
Better than any match at Wrestlepalooza '98. I love how Jericho adds some real bite and venom to his usual pre-match promo, making him a little more than just a comedic smartass. Bore Us Malenko is a stone-faced jobber who's slightly better built than a Mulkey brother, with a big "1" on his tights to signify how many holds he knows. He does in fact do his one hold here (a wristlock) before Jericho makes a Misawa-esque comeback to destroy him.
TravJ1979
Better than any match at Wrestlepalooza '98. Agreed. Also funnier than any DX skit so far this year with the possible exception of them invading WCW.
