I have to add that this is unbelievably huge at the time. Mark Maguire was a mega-star before the steroids scandal dropped him to scum status. This would be like LeBron James hanging out with John Cena and I don't even think that is a fit comparison.

Reading the title, I thought this was some parody in the vein of Gillberg. Then i remembered this did happen and I had the WCW magazine cover with it on. This was a big deal and a cool tie into mainstream for WCW.

Good photo-op but I remember Bobby Heenan absolutely eviscerating WCW for how little they really milked this compared to what they could have done...and what the WWF no doubt would have done. McGwire was the biggest American sports story in 1998...figuratively and literally.
