Loss Posted October 22, 2014 Author Report Posted October 22, 2014 Last few minutes of a match that I think had run its course after their 1997 feud played out. Taz wins handily after choking Sabu out with the Tazmission. Quote
Tim Evans Posted February 4, 2015 Report Posted February 4, 2015 They even play the respect card. That was anticlimatic finish though. Quote
soup23 Posted March 16, 2015 Report Posted March 16, 2015 COmplete lack of heat to the finish of this. Taz wins to solidify himself as the ace of the promotion once and for all. Again, the handshake at the finish was played like a big moment but the crowd didn't really care all that much about it. Quote
PeteF3 Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Another Taz-Sabu match that fails to live up to the hype. Hopefully this is done with, but if it is Taz is rather disturbingly out of fresh challengers already. And come on--on the same show in 1999 ECW we're teasing a "referee's decision" finish *and* a towel throw-in finish? No Heyman worshipper should ever complain about ether again with these false finishes out of 1965. I'm not opposed to the idea of any of those finishes, but they only work in a promotion and an environment where they're put over as actually having a chance of happening. Quote
Makai Club #1 Posted May 30, 2019 Report Posted May 30, 2019 Considering this is the blow off to a long built feud that began in 1996, this was very, very heatless. Zero hatred or intensity behind the match. Very shallow brawling in that sense. There was a few neat suplexes by Taz and Sabu added his certain ways of doing things but without that depth, it doesn't amount to much. **1/2 Quote
