Loss
Flair gets the crowd against him right away with a local sports reference. He hates being in Canada. It's only the country in the world where he can bring a $100 bill and spend a week with Gene at the Marriott. Flair has a surprise but gets an "asshole" chant - he brings out Diamond Dallas Page at DDP's request, who has some things to discuss with Flair. Flair says he has the book and can do with DDP what he wants. They talk around their problems in the past, where Flair apparently wasn't a fan of him when he was booking. DDP wants a match with Scott Steiner and is getting heel heat, so he calls all the Canadian fans jackoffs. They are really setting the tone for Hogan to get a big pop when he comes out. Flair puts DDP in a match with Hogan instead of Steiner. Hogan comes out to a huge ovation and has words for both guys. Flair tells DDP he's going to be his manager, which DDP doesn't want at all. Meanwhile, Sting shows up in the rafters. Flair is hilarious. "Sting, get down here, damnit! I'm the President! Don't be flyin' around without tellin' me!" Tim Evans
Flair is still a good promo here but not as good as earlier in the year. Was Sting gone for a while before this? Why were they going crazy over him.
(BP)
I believe this is when Sting came back after a pretty long absence where he got clean and became born-again. It was also a return to Crow-Sting after the Wolfpack phase.
soup23
Yeah, this is Sting's return since the Fall when he left to get his house in order. Flair did a great job getting the crowd to turn against him as he was getting some cheers at the onset. DDP's promo was odd and him all of a sudden calling the fans jackoffs makes no sense being the people's champ for the past two years. Hogan comes in a gets some huge accolades and Sting shows up to look onto the proceedings. The star power is there still even if dated, the focus is lost. PeteF3
Canada's a pretty easy place to turn Flair, and evidently it's an easy place to turn DDP as well. The dynamics of this are still all kinds of messed up, as Page and Flair are cutting promos on each other even though both are supposed to be turning and even though Page still wants Scott Steiner. Hogan comes out and babyfaces himself to at least try to add some contrast to this mess. Oh, hey, it's Sting, is he still with the promotion?
