Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Last few minutes. Luger and Liz are at ringside with Nash. Goldberg avenges his Starrcade loss and pins Nash clean with Luger taking a few bumps along the way. That Kevin Nash, so thoughtful.
Tim Evans
Goldberg takes out the ref with a spear to the groin and then puts the testicular claw on Nash. Nash even does a leapfrog. Big pop from the crowd when Goldberg wins tho.
soup23
This action looked really hot and Goldberg still feels like the biggest guy in the promotion here. He avenges his lost and Nash's booking is really interesting to analyze as you can see him using this job as leverage that he is giving. Superstar Sleeze
Don't watch the full match. Kevin Nash vs Goldberg - WCW Spring Stampede 1999 What a weirdly laid out match. Nash takes command immediately with his standard, rote corner offense (you know knee lifts and boot choke). Goldberg literally gets zero offense and the crowd is dead. This goes on for half the match and just nothing is happening. Goldberg mounts his comeback and business picks up. I liked Nash going for the big boot and Goldberg ducking and hitting a thrust kick. It was a crazy athletic sequence especially for Nash. Then Nash does a leapfrog. It was not Cena leapfrog, but on the Big Sexy Sliding Scale it was pretty good. Goldberg takes out Luger and Nash to win the match clean as a whistle. Who was booking this shit? Goldberg beats the two of your top three heels clean in the ring. Yet, he does not get a title shot at Slamboree. Instead, Nash turns face and gets the title shot at Slamboree. Oh yeah, Kevin Nash was booking. Ugh. PeteF3
We get a pre-match video before cutting to the finish, that's filled with all kinds of computer imagery and effects but doesn't actually tell us anything about why this match is happening or why it's important. Say what you will about the overwroughtness of WWE's videos, they do tell you the story. A good finishing stretch if nothing else, for sure, as we start with Goldberg doing a terrific bob-and-weave avoidance of Nash's blows and leveling him with a superkick. Nash leapfrogging the spear was a really cool spot, and they believably work the invincible Goldberg into an overcome-the-odds story with the presence of Luger. It's easy to be cynical about Nash and his booking, but on this night at least, he did business the right way. After all this, WCW still had something with this guy.
