Wow, what’s here is GREAT and we get over half the match. They do a lot of ankle lock teases that are better than the usual Angle stuff. A keeper for sure. This looks like it has potential to be the best in-ring feud of the year if we could just get some complete matches.

Really good clip here. Really liked Kanemoto ducking the shotei to get into an ankle lock. The very opening stuff was great too and I liked the ending. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing this in full.

Crowd was really hot for this and Kanemoto seems to be Liger's best opponent. That top rope German suplex was nuts.

NJ World needs to be a dear and release these matches in full. This felt great with Liger having more desperation to him since Kanemoto has a victory now. Kanemoto is great as always standing on Ligers head and being a prick while going for the ankle lock in multiple opportunities. That palm strike leading into the ankle lock by Liger was nasty and rewards with him winning. We get about half of this and it looked amazing. I think Liger, Kanemoto and Otani all had a good claim to being top 5 worldwide based on what we have seen in 1999 so far.

Still not really sold on Koji as any kind of superworker but he looked far, far better here than in his other recent matches that were pimped heavily. Maybe it's because he concentrated on submissions instead of unleashing his mostly mediocre High-End Offense (except for the moonsault). And of course Liger is a master.
