Loss
I really enjoyed the super sharp good-evil contrast in this match. Morality play wrestling at its finest. I've seen Casas in many matches like this through the years, but he has typically been on the other side of the fence, so seeing him like this is still fresh and awesome. He's the star of this with his fired up heroics act which I absolutely love, but everyone was excellent.
Tim Evans
This was alright. Lots of stalling from Wagner working the crowd. Santo does some dives and gets bloodied up. Didn't like this as much as Loss but it was a good tag title match.
Zenjo
I think this would've been better if they'd worked it straight up and made things less complicated. They had Santo blading and Casas being laid out on the floor for long periods so it was 1 vs 2. It wasn't necessary to have the manufactured drama of the tecnicos overcoming all odds because both men were already really over. The quality of the wrestling was down on what I might expect thru 2 falls. I think the workers were a bit thrown by the weird match flow. Business did pick up in the tercera to make it decent overall by the finish.
tim
I really loved this match. Casas and Santo as a technico team continues to be really cool. Lots of high end offense for a lucha match and it's all really good, especially the great looking Doomsday crossbody Casas and Santo hit in the second fall. One thing especially impressive in this match is the twists and turns in momentum, they really manage some pretty involved back-and-forth spots to establish who's in control. Commentary on this match is a lot of fun too from what I picked up -- they argue over whether or not Wagner's Michinoku Driver was a Martinete -- and then when Casas wins the final fall with the brainbuster they fight over whether THAT was a Martinete too! One commentator maintains it is while the other defends it being a suplex.
soup23
Such a great defined contrast of tecnico vs rudo throughout this match. The double team moves Wagner and Panther execute in the first fall were awesome. They really melded together great as a team. Second fall continues the dominance of the rudos as they are just running shit. Wagner hits the martinete on Casas behind the refs back and pins him. The deck is stacked against Santo now When Worlds Collide style. I love rudo Panther around this time and his contrast to the quintessential babyface in Santo. Panther celebrates another great move but little does he know Santo hit a flash rana and pinned Wagner. He does it to Panther too and we are all tied up. The rudos are incensed and open the final fall on a tirade that busts Santo open good. He has a great visual of blood all over his silver pants. Meanwhile, Casas is trying to regain himself by pouring drinks from the crowd on top of his head to shake the cobwebs off. The visuals of this match are through the roof. Casas and Santo bond together and Casas gets a measure of revenge by pinning Wagner. Panther is now on the outside trying to compose himself. Casas puts a sign over Wagner and gives him a leg drop. A beautiful wrestling match chalk full of great story. ****1/
PeteF3
Okay enough but disappointing considering the caliber of talent. Far be it for me to complain about re-using a proven winning formula but I couldn't help but notice the second fall was a naked blatant recreation of the When Worlds Collide match. Same story and even the same comeback finish, with Santo in the Octagon role. I did like how Casas came back to drop Wagner on his head just like Wagner did with a potentially illegal martinete in the second fall.
