Fantastic Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Remember the crowd reaction? Also, remember the fact that WWE loves to try and duplicate stuff with the intention of exceeding the original success. Cena's pretty much guaranteed to equal Flair's 16 world title reigns at some point in the not-to-distant future, Reigns broke Kane's Rumble elimination record, etc. My question is, is there anything WWE could possibly do, be it at a Wrestlemania or any even that could possibly come close (or even exceed?) to shocking the audience that Taker going down for the 1-2-3 at XXX did? Fantastic Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 They recreate the WM9 main event with Bryan as Bret Hart, Brock as Yoko and... Hogan as Hogan! That would be pathetic, yet hilarious. Imagine Cole and JBL trying to sell that shit on commentary, complete with Heyman throwing ceremonial salt meant for Bryan in Brock's eyes?! Quote
Sidebottom Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Even a Cena heel turn wouldn't shock as much as Undertaker losing and that's the closest thing I can think of in terms of today's television product. Quote
anarchistxx Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 A violent, blood filled massacre with John Cena turning heel. Other than that, no. It is like trying to recreate Brazil 1 Germany 7. In terms of context and uniqueness it may never be surpassed, although the England cricket team did a fine job of replicating it last night. Quote
thebrainfollower Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 Vince closes the show with the announcement he's sold the company to Dixie Carter and they recreate the final Nitro with Dixie as Vince. And we find out next morning it was not an angle. Quote
Smack2k Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 Cena goes heel is closest thing, but that wouldnt be nearly as shocking... Bryan winning the title - shocking because WWE might get something right!! Quote

Imagine Cole and JBL trying to sell that shit on commentary, complete with Heyman throwing ceremonial salt meant for Bryan in Brock's eyes?! That's arguably the greatest thing ever. Anyway, I don't know if I'd be so quick to say Cena turning heel wouldn't be as shocking as Brock beating Taker. I'm not saying it would be, but I wouldn't rule it out either. Quote

Completes depends on how it is done. If Cena turns heel forming a stable with Orton & Batista & Big Show type of guys being some kind of old guard trying to stop the new young guys from taking their place with a vicious beat down on the hot upcoming face. I think that would do it. Quote

jcmmnx Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 Have Dean Ambrose win a ppv match. Quote
DMJ Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 It won't compare to Taker losing, but... If Rusev beats Cena again at Mania, that might be the second biggest shocker in WrestleMania history. Quote
