Grimmas Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Any love for Perro Jr.? I was huge into him in 2005 time zone, but he seemed to fall off due to drugs. If he had many years at that 2005 level he might sneak in. I thought he was the future of wrestling back then.
Tim Evans Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 He might make the bottom of my list. I mean he was probably Mexico's biggest heel since Art Barr/Eddie Guerrero and had one of the true alternatives to AAA/CMLL even though it didn't last long. Had some real good feud with Park, Hector Garza, Mistico, Wagner and others. I like him better than his dad although his dad had better brawls. To prove how important Perro Jr was even in 2014, look what AAA is going through just to replace him as top heel.
Jimmy Redman Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Perrito is someone I'm thinking about, but at the end of the day I might want to rank him more than I actually will rank him. When he's on he's so on, just a great heel with that touch of transcendence about him. But on the other hand I don't know if there's enough of a body of work there. He's on the bubble.
Quentin Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Perrito is so so so fun, man. I’m not sure how high I could realistically see someone having him if he was to make a list but man the dude was such a ball of energy. Maybe a little inconsistent but one of the most charming guys of his generation. The footage we have him as a baby in 1995 and I think already his potential in his interactions with Juvie. Way more talented than maybe the totality of his career maybe shows, but one of the kinds of people who pop off the screen every single time.
cad Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 I've watched two Perro Aguayo Jr. matches for this project. Perro vs Atlantis (Jan. 2006) had an outstanding rudo performance from Atlantis and some nice moments of brawling from Aguayo, but most of the time he seemed more interested in making faces than in selling. I actually feel comfortable in saying that Perro alone stopped this from being a great match, and I hate saying stuff like that. Perro vs Negro Casas (Sep. 2004) saw Perro dominate Casas in the first fall but then pick him up one a two count to administer more punishment. His very next move was a side headlock takeover. But you just... Moving on, Casas got him in a scorpion deathlock, Perro screamed in agony, and then as soon as the ref broke the hold Perro popped up like nothing had happened and beat the shit out of everyone. I don't know if I'm going to watch any more Perro Aguayo Jr. matches for this project.
HeadCheese Posted Tuesday at 11:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:18 PM I've really enjoyed what I've seen from him so far, he matches have such aura and big match feeling surrounding them (it's not the closest I can think of is Dump Matsumoto) especially vs. Mistico. He walks the line of being the playing to his his fans but, also selling and bumping so the technicos get over too. Interested to see where he goes on my list. 5/6/05 Dr. Wagner Jr., LA Par-K & Mistico vs. La Furia del Norte (Hector Garza, Perro Aguayo Jr. & Tarzan Boy) 5/13/05 Mistico vs. Perro Aguayo Jr. 8/25/06 Perro Aguayo Jr. vs. El Hijo del Santo (Might be my favorite El Hijo de Santo singles ever) 8/3/07 Blue Panther, Mistico & Negro Casas vs. Los Perros del Mal (Hector Garza, Lizmark Jr. & Perro Aguayo Jr.) 3/21/08 Perro Aguayo Jr. vs. Hector Garza - Homenaje A Dos Leyendas (Hair vs. Hair) Part 2 - https://youtu.be/eh9H6rNqJt4?si=NuLYSuxC_iSmalPr Part 3 - https://youtu.be/kRp8tJwj_D4?si=ykYqLYfcAf421dRy 2/18/15 Myzteziz (Mistico) vs. Perro Aguayo Jr.
