Zoo Enthusiast
I want to see full shows and a Roku/AppleTV app.
Matt D
My deal with this is that this is footage that we mostly thought would never see the light of day.....some of it we had already but a large majority we didn't have so I'll be damned if I'm going to bitch about some type of ratio and shit. This is exactly how I feel. I feel that way and also feel the need to bring up watching seventh generation dubs of tapes or watching matches that you spent all night DLing in RM format in a tiny tiny box in 1999 or dailymotion (DAILYMOTION!!!) and what not. I mean, I feel bad if people get headaches due to problems with their eyesight or something, but this is stuff that we might have never seen period. goc
If I had never watched any wrestling that wasn't in pristine perfect quality I'd.....probably have more money and storage space. But really, I have Southeastern DVDs that you can barely even see what the fuck is going on the video is either so dark or just blurry as shit. I'm still watching them. Sheepherders vs. The Fabs in a Cage is a handheld that has pretty awful video quality but it's still one of the wildest, craziest, most awesome brawls I've ever seen. BlueGuy
Matt D, I agree. It's great that this type of footage is finally being made available, even with its flaws as others have also mentioned. I'm happy for those that can enjoy it and there's certainly a lot of outstanding matches being made available for the first time ever and I'm sure there's even more to follow. Everyone who can enjoy it as is, apparently the majority of internet viewers, should subscribe. I can't and I'm not going to pretend and say I can. I didn't make the original post with complaints and wasn't going to make any NWA Classics post until someone else made the first complaint post. My vision is perfectly fine. If anything, I'm seeing it better than others are. I suspect many of you are watching on computers or small screens. I only watch video on a 40inchTV. Obviously because the screen is bigger it's showcasing the flaws greater than on the smaller screens. I hope this service succeeds in a big way. If they succeed hopefully they'll decide to offer the same footage the way it was originally intended to be seen, in 4:3 with 60 frames per second. Whether that's through streaming or a DVD release, it doesn't matter. If it succeeds, the chances I'll eventually get to enjoy it are greatly enhanced. Consider me an NWA Classics supporter. Once it looks the way it was originally intended to be seen, as it does on the Monsters of the Mat tapes, I'll become an NWA Classics supporter and DVD owner or subscriber for as long as they continue offering fresh footage the way it should be seen. Matt D
Yeah, I don't think I've seen wrestling on a TV screen since 2009, so I'm not sure what it's like on that. Sometimes too much of a good thing can hurt though.
Tim Evans
Does Bruce Tharpe have any plans to show anything besides the old Houston footage? I'd like to see some old NWA title defenses from guys like Dan Severn, Mike Rapada and Sabu.
BlueGuy
Check out Tharpe's Twitter. I seem to recall reading somewhere (maybe Tharpe's Twitter) that the company does intend on offering more footage in the coming weeks and months. I'm actually very pleasantly surprised that this much classic Houston footage has already been made available. WWE has so many classic hours of pre-Monday Night War era footage in their vaults. But, I'd venture to guess if you take out the pay-per-views, NWA Classics is offering more minutes of house show footage than WWE has in its entire first year. There's no doubt NWA Classics has already offered the better house show matches.
JerryvonKramer
Not a single thing bothers me because this is the best fucking thing to happen in a long time and I can only be grateful to Tharpe and co for their efforts.
BruceTharpe
Thank you guys for all the comments. We read all of them. We will do our best to address all of these concerns and continue to improve NWAClassics.com on a regular basis.
