Pete, Johnny and Steven are back to talk another huge week in wrestling.

The first fall (01:08) dives into Johnny’s pick for the NWA Classics match of the week featuring Hector & Chavo Guerrero vs The Fabulous Ones in a Steel Cage! We then tour the indies starting with ROH TV. How does ROH handle promo segments? We then look at NXT TV. How is Eva Marie? Can NXT pull off a three hour show, plus our quick thoughts on the Take Over Brooklyn show. We end the first fall with Pete talking ROH Field of Honor.

In the second fall (1:24:02) we go international starting with Revolution Pro TV as shown on youtube. It features Rocky Romero vs Josh Bodom. Pete then talks Progress Wrestling and we end the fall with our lucha match of the week from IWRG featuring Canis Lupus, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Pagano vs Los Traumas & LA Park!

The third fall (1:48:08) goes into the highlights of Raw. We talk Sting and Jon Stewart. We end the show talking about SummerSlam 2015. We then have a heated debate on the quality of the show, WWE’s freshness, WWE vs NXT, WWE’s booking and all things going on with the WWE.

As always go to the PWO-PTBN Podcast Network facebook page, twitter or pro wrestling only and gives us suggestions on what we should be watching. Is there a puro match we should discuss? Is there something going on in New Zealand? Let us know and we will talk about it on This Week in Wrestling.

Steven, the weekend was won by Vince on two different levels. First, remember that he owns NXT, which is clearly designed to win over hardcores. And look at you drinking the koolaid. They sold out the arena in Brooklyn. It's money for Vince. He's getting your 10 bucks a month no matter what. Do you think he cares which show you like? Understand when you're being worked.

Then he won on a second sense, because the mainstream media take away from the weekend was Stewart and the mainstream internet takeaway was the gif of Taker and Brock laughing.

Job done. Promoter is gonna promote. Every audience covered and catered for.

The key thing you don't get is that NXT is explicitly "for you", the hardcore wrestling fan who might also watch ROH, while the main show isn't.

Do you think Vince doesn't know how to book a show like 1986 Crockett? He would if he wanted to. He's not going for that demo. Hunter clearly has a remit to make an older-school type show.

But Johnny is right: you should give up wanting WWE to be "like NXT", it's never going to be and it never was. If you can't see that NXT has been DELIBERATELY produced to define itself against the main show, then you can't see that you are being worked.

You have exactly the views that they expect you to have.

I don't want the WWE to be exactly like the WWE, just to be good.

It's not like it hasn't been good at points over the last few years. The build to Mania 30 was a great 3 months of television. A lot of the run of The Shield stuff was great too.

By the way, going for whatever demo he is going for the ratings are low, so it's not like it's doing well.

Couple of YouTube links for Johnny and Pete (and anybody else who might be interested) for the PROGRESS promotion that Pete reviewed. They put a full show from back in May of 2014 online (they had some hard camera problems so they gave it away rather than charge fans for it). It's a little ragged due to the ringiside only camera work but hot damn do you ever get a sense of the atmosphere. I've been watching a lot of Revolution Pro over the last few weeks and even though they use a lot of the same workers the two promotions have SUCH a different feel. Progress is definitely the ECW to Rev Pro's ROH. This is also the show where the Havoc-Ospreay feud is essentially begun, as Jimmy goes after the young golden boy midway through the show and goes all Reservoir Dogs on him (complete with "Stuck In The Middle With You" playing over the house PA). It's pretty intense.

The show can be found here:

There's also a fantastic 5 minute video highlight package of the Havoc-Ospreay feud that was used for their title match this past July. Totally makes me want to go out and get that match and might help give you a little contextual background for their recent re-match.

You can find that here:
