Ricky Jackson
We also watched Jimmy Snuka/Buddy Rogers vs Lou Albano/Ray Stevens from 11/25/82 Philly for this show, and this is a match to definitely check out. Not only because it displays how crazy OVER Snuka was at this poiint, but for super rare footage of the original Nature Boy in the ring nearly twenty years after his full time career ended in 1963 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0nCT_1T97E&index=14&list=WL
High Flyer
Super curious/terrified to see Graham's skin condition based on the descriptions.
SteveJRogers
1983 should be all kinds of interesting. Backlund-Shieky Baby to wrap up the year and Backlund's reign, speaking of which, was this the debut of the weights and "challenge?" That "very interesting" shoot-ish promo Vince gives early in the year on Victory Corner that is almost a scripted promo version of "Stand Back." An entire year of Don Muraco IC Champ! Speaking of which, THE SPLASH from Snuka in October. One more go-round for the Samoans, Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas becoming tag champs, and hopefully the END of the Strongbows! BTW, when does Moolah and the women's division return to the territory? Looking up quickly, its not until July of '84 that Richter wins the title, so I wonder how long in advance the division made its return. SteveJRogers
Amazing that arguably the most influential and charismatic heel of the 1970s could be out staged by the most influential and charismatic heels of nearly two generations earlier...in 198 FREAKING 2! Ricky Jackson
The women have always been part of cards at MSG and Philly but that hateful misogynist Crazy James didn't put a single one of their matches on the set. He was similarly discriminatory with the midgets. I've long meant to rectify the situation, because Titans leaves no stone unturned. Look out for women and midgets to turn up in 1983, that is my pledge!
JerryvonKramer
Let's support the divas revolution by doing a women's special.
SteveJRogers
Hmmmm, I figured since Moolah controlled the belt and division, it was kind of an Andre sort of deal, or maybe more like Bruiser Brody/Terry Funk, where they weren't beholden to a specfic territory, and the division would be stalled until needed again. Akin to early 1990s until Alundra Blaze shows up and then again when Madusa trashes the belt to when Sable debuts the new belt around late 1998-early 1999. Ricky Jackson
Yes, they weren't exclusive to WWF until Vince made a deal with Moolah sometime in 84, perhaps even
bradhindsight
That Baron titan tron is the best thing ever. You should really comment on the YT video and give him the link to the Titans series. This is quite literally his wheelhouse. Kelly - we're all onboard for a Titans Errata set! Mr. Lacelle
Better get a ouija board if you're gonna do that.
bradhindsight
Better get a ouija board if you're gonna do that. I'm referring to the guy who made the Titantron, not the actual Baron.
Ricky Jackson
He means the guy who made the video not the late great Baron himself As far as Titans Errata goes, for now the WWF MSG and WWF Spectrum playlists on the Titans TV youtube channel provide a ton of extra content, including of course the ladies and little fellas
thebrainfollower
What a great episode! The Titans never rise more to the occasion then when they have to review terrible terrible stuff! And it doesn't get much worse than these cards, I tried sitting through them myself and pretty much gave up, using them as background filler and listening to Gorilla and Vince bicker. Glad to hear we are finally nearing the monster year of 1982, feels like it's been a long time. Have the Titans discussed any plans to continue beyond 1983 or will Bob dropping the title to the Iron Sheik be (admittedly a rather fitting) the last episode for Titans? Ricky Jackson
I do like the symmetry of Bob vs Hussein Arab being a match we reviewed on the first Titans with all four of us together (#2) and Bob vs Iron Sheik being on possibly the last... JerryvonKramer
After that last card it feels like we've been through a war together. Changed men.
Ricky Jackson
For me, after surviving Ali vs Inoki I fear no match That was my Battle of the Somme
