soup23
This was probably my favorite AAA thing so far actually. It certainly had too much referee bullshit for my optimal liking including the ref scoring the pinfall in the second caida, but it at least stayed based in the ring and had some semblance of a story that I could grasp. I really enjoyed the heel team here as it is filled with gruffy, grumpy men that don't give a fuck. Hopefully we can see more of this in the future. ***1/
Loss
Something genuinely good from AAA! I'm shocked. It doesn't hurt that at least three of the wrestlers involved in the match are bonafide legends, and pretty much everyone is either very good or can be good in the right setting, and this is the right setting. Every style requires some concessions, and the AAA concession is that the referees are overly involved in matches. If you are able to get past that (which I realize everyone can't, and that is understandable), this is an excellent match, building nicely from comedy and highspots to brawling to pure violence at the end when Texano isolates Perro and just stabs him in the forehead repeatedly with whatever sharp object he has to draw blood just out of sight of the referee. I'm guessing these are the best guys in the company, and this is the least booked match I've seen in a long time for AAA, making it easily the best match this company has had in 2000. ***3/
Tim Evans
I love the cosagrados so much. Just a bunch of old dudes beating up the younger guys and being rudo as hell. My favorite was Sangre Chicana who was old in 1990 and looks like what you would expect a rudo to look like. This match was fun with the tecnicos doing some flying, la parka doing comedy and Texano blooding up Perro Jr. Yeah the ref stuff is annoying but it's what it is in AAA. Best AAA match I've seen so far this year which isn't saying much.
cramerjason87
Fun stuff. The rudo team was great all around. The brawling in the first fall was very good and intense. I liked how they mixed in some more traditional sequences in the second fall before going back to the brawling for the finish. Texano busting open Perro Jr. looked great. Best thing from AAA so far. Mattsdmf
This was a lot of fun. The very worst worker in this was at least good and the very best are bonafide legends. I loved the grumpy old rudos having to pull every trick on the young tecnicos. The brawling was good, the comedy and ref bs was kept to a minimum and the action was constant. I dug this quite a bit.
