SirEdger
Big fan of that 8-men Elimination Tag Match. Great finish. And if I were Austin Idol & Freddie Blassie, I would be careful not to get on Bruiser Brody's bad side! 'Cause he could go after Idol's UWF World Title! GeneJackson95
(It's been a crazy week this week, I've had some health issues that put me out of commission for a few days but I'm slowly getting it back together but in an effort to not get behind…this week's TV will be brief highlights) UWF/CCW Television Recorded on June 26, 1985 at the Sportatorium in Tampa, FL. In front of a live studio audience Airing on Florida Superstation WTOG and various television outlets throughout Alabama and Mississippi on June 29, 1985 Hosted by Gordon Solie & Joe Pedicino Interviewer: Coach John Heath Ring Announcer: Rhubarb Jones UWF Continental Heavyweight Champion: Bam Bam Bigelow UWF Continental Tag Team Champions: The Nightmares (Danny Davis/Ken Wayne) UWF Southern Champion: Vacant/To Be Determined UWF Southern Tag Team Champions: Stud Stable ("Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert/Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich) UWF Alabama Heavyweight Champion: "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony UWF Florida Heavyweight Champion: Kendall Windham UWF Southern Jr Heavyweight Champion: Mike Graham Show opens with highlights of the Eight Man Tag Team Elimination match pitting the Bullet & The Armstrongs vs. The House of Humperdink in which a "hooded figure" ran in to help get the win for Purple Haze and Death Wish. Solie and Pedicino speculate that the hooded person was perhaps Kevin Sullivan, Fallen Angel comes out and says it was the "Prince of Darkness" and that's all they need to refer to him as and that he's far from finished with the Bullet. Buddy Wayne says he doesn't condone the Night mares walking out of the title match…HOWEVER, due to Killer Khan spitting the green mist in the eyes of the referee Khan/Kabuki will not be getting a rematch for the tag team titles and will be forced to wrestle singles bouts for the entire month of July. LowBlowPodcast
I don't know exactly why, but I am growing quite fond of the Rich/Gilbert team. I love how Ron Bass comes right in to the main event and we even get a WrestleMania rematch with Mulligan getting his revenge. I like that Brody has also had some issues here. Not too many will remember the Bruiser Brody/Bill Watts/ Vince McMahon debacle back in 1984 when I had Mid South. Keep doing work!
SirEdger
Not fully aware of this myself, given how late I came in the game but it's always fun indeed to have some continuity in the project, even so subtle.
kevinmcfl
Great card for the Tampa fans. I enjoy how well each card has these minor one or two week angels mixed in with your longer feuds. I wonder if we are seeing a set up of Mr. Wrestling II's last big dance. The Stud Stable feud is building up nicely and can't wait to see the winner. Rich and Hot Stuff might be my favorite team of all time as they were so good at both heel and babyface and both excelled on the mic.
