The losing team can no longer be called the Stud Stable! They cut to the back where Coach John Heath is with the other Stud Stable (Eddie Gilbert/Tommy Rich/Big John Studd). Eddie says that taking their name isn't good enough, they want those UWF World Six Man Tag Team titles back as well. Ron Fuller says that's just fine, they beat them last week and they will beat them again…Stud Stable on the line…belts on the line…it's time to end this! He says he's also working on one more big surprise for David Sammartino in that bout as well. He says next week he will return with an announcement regarding the titles in CCW but he doesn't want to hit the fans with too much at once. Fritz thanks the fans and says he looks forward to many years of entertaining them and bringing them the best wrestling action in world. The 2nd match saw The Bullet/Brad Armstrong defeat Carl Fergie/The Intern when Bullet put the Intern out with a sleeper hold Bullet gets on the mic and says since Kevin Sullivan wanted to attack him and bust his head open recently, then he's going to return the favor to some of the 'House of Humperdork' this Monday night in Birmingham when he and Brad take on Purple Haze and Killer Brooks in a 'First Blood match'…..those two are going bleed even if they have to stoop to their level and then Sullivan's day is coming real soon We cut to Marc Lowrance in the Sportatorium in Dallas to run down a few of the matches there tomorrow afternoon CCW Summer Heatwave Tour '85 The Sportatorium Dallas, Texas Sunday July 14, 1985 Bell Time- 4pm MAIN EVENTUWF Unified World Championship "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie & Teddy Muscles Vs. kevinmcfl
CCW is firing on all cylinders now. Fritz is in and you got the two Sportatoriums hoisting shows. along with my favorite Monday night card at the Boutwell. CCW has quickly advanced from a left over roster to a major player. You have pulled off some great deals and your simple and easy to read writing writing style has your shows being something I look forward to reading each week. So many great feuds and I love how you the location determines which is fought where. Kevin vs Idol in Texas, Amrstrongs in the Boutwell and the Dream vs Sammartino in Florida. gordi
I'm glad that footage of Bam Bam Bigelow in Japan arrived in time for you to use it on your program. I'm really looking forward to reading about Bam Bam in CCW. It should be great for his development.
SirEdger
Most definitely the most significant TV to date for Continental as far as I'm concerned. The dynamic is now switching over to Continental for Fritz and Austin Idol better look out because he won't no longer be able to run roughshod in the territory. If Kevin pulls it off at the Sportatorium, it will be epic. And it's only fitting that the battle of the Stud Stables ends up with a winner takes all stipulation! Jesse Ewiak
In a way, CCW almost has the strongest top to bottom lineup for it's region. Any of the matches for the next Birmingham could've main evented it. I only hope that the 'Southeastern' feel stays, even as Fritz takes control of the product. Great TV as usual. kevinmcfl
Great return to Dallas for the UWF! Love how each match seems to have something on the line. I suspect the people of Dallas would not be that into Graham and the Tongo Kid (even though for an opening match it is awesome) but put a title on the line and it becomes a very important match. Makes me think I need another title or two! Kevin Von Erich gets the win and I am sure we get the fans going wild for a second before Marc Lowrence says that the title doesn't change hands on a count out. dexstar
I don't know all that much about some of the southern guys (love the style but big blind spot footage wise for a dude who grew up in Michigan and missed seeing all of it live) but I can tell that all of you folks running promotions in the area have a real understanding and feel for what 80s territory graps were like in the area, and all of you help me learn with your shows. Ron Fuller is a low down lying cheating snake, too.

I think you are doing a good job of that. I mean, I'm a Canadian who lives in Japan, so it's not like I'm an expert in Southern US culture... but to me the cards in Texas feel different from the cards in Alabama which feel different from thee Florida cards... I think you do a great job of tailoring the upper card and main event matches for the local crowds. I think that is a quality that helps give this project a real 80s territory feel, overall. GeneJackson95
UWF/CCW Television Recorded on July 10, 1985 at the Sportatorium in Tampa, FL. In front of a live studio audience Airing on Florida Superstation WTOG, Texas Superstation WTVT, and various television outlets throughout Alabama and Mississippi on July 20, 1985 Hosted by Gordon Solie & Joe Pedicino Interviewer: Coach John Heath Ring Announcer: Rhubarb Jones (Show begins with the footage of the "Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller turning on his brother Robert and his cousin Jimmy Golden last Monday night in Birmingham, costing them the UWF World Six Man Tag Team Championship and making Big John Studd, Eddie Gilbert, Tommy Rich, and himself the one and only Stud Stable, we then go to the opening montage and we go to the desk with Gordon Solie and Joe Pedicino) Gordon and Joe welcome everyone to the show and discuss how shocked they both are about what Ron Fuller did to his own family this past week in Birmingham. They said they will hear not only from the now one and only Stud Stable here today but we'll also hear from Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden after having some time to process what took place this past Monday night. Joe mentions that we also have new Continental Tag Team Champions as The Exotic Superstars (Adrian Street/Bill Dundee) w/Ms. Linda managed to defeat "Nightmare" Danny Davis in a handicap match after injuring Kenny Wayne earlier in the night……It's unclear the extent of Wayne's injury at this point but he will be out of action for at least a few weeks. We'll also hear from Danny Davis later in this show. Gordon says it's time for the opening bout this week. In the opener The Grappler defeated Johnny Jarrett with a swinging neckbreaker Gordon welcomes UWF CCW Owner Fritz Von Erich out to the desk. Fritz says he has some big news today. He said first off he wants to show a film that was sent in that has HUGE ramifications for UWF Beach Brawl coming to Orlando, Florida on Sunday August 4th! He says let's roll that footage now. VTR: Bruno Sammartino is standing in front of the Lutte Wrestling banner. Bruno says that he's been getting dozens of calls from wrestlers, promoters, magazine writers, and fans asking him if he's aware of his son's actions 'down south'. He said that he wasn't but he some footage sent to him by Dusty Rhodes showing him exactly what kind things David has pulled since his arrival in the UWF and CCW. Bruno said this is not how David was raised and it's not how he was trained for this sport and he will no longer stand idly by while David Sammartino embarrasses the Sammartino name with his actions. He says he's tried numerous times to call and contact David to set him straight but David is avoiding him and will not return his calls since joining up with Blassie and Idol. So, that being said….Bruno says that he is going to personally come to Orlando on August 4th and be the 'Special Referee' for the Cage match between his son and the 'American Dream' Dusty Rhodes. Bruno says that win, lose, or draw, he will make sure that David stays in that cage and fights like a man to finish what he started with Dusty Rhodes. As we return from the video, UWF Alabama Champion David Sammartino storms the set with Freddie Blassie and Teddy Muscles in tow and berates Fritz for "dragging his father into this". He says Fritz will regret this and that Dusty Rhodes will pay for this in that cage, he says if Dusty wants a fight then it's a fight he will get. Fritz tells him to calm down because he has another announcement that David needs to hear. Fritz says that he feels there are too many titles in CCW, he says that not only is NOT adding a Texas Heavyweight Title, he's taking away three belts and replacing them with two. As mentioned before, the Southeastern title was done away with and there will be a tournament in Jacksonville, Florida this Sunday to crown the first ever UWF Southern Heavyweight Champion. He is also deactivating the Florida Championship, the Alabama Championship, and the Southern Jr. Championship since there's only a small handful of Jr heavyweights in the territory. (David and Blassie are pitching a fit) These three titles will be replaced by the UWF Southern Television Championship. To be far to the current champions, they will compete for this new championship right here tonight on this show. Those champions being Alabama Champion David Sammartino, Florida Champion Kendall Windham, and Jr. Champion Mike Graham. Fritz will have Gordon draw out two of the three names right now, those two will face off after the commercial and the winner will face the odd man out in today's television main event to crown the new champion. Gordon reaches in and draws out Kendall Windham…..followed by….Mike Graham. This match will take place next. COMMERICIAL: UWF Beach Brawl: Sunday August 4th at the Orange Bowl in Orlando, Florida! Featuring: UWF World Tag Team Champions The Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering, UWF World Six Man Tag Champions The Stud Stable, The Rock & Roll Express, Dusty Rhodes, David Sammartino, Austin Idol, Jerry 'the King' Lawler, and many, many more! Matches to be announced soon! 2nd bout of the show is Southern Television Title semi-final Mike Graham defeated Kendall Windham with a roll up after Windham seemed to tweak his knee on a leap frog Coach John Heath is joined by Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden. Robert says that he and Jimmy were in complete shock and disbelief that his brother Ron did what he did to them…..but after a few days of thinking…they are no longer shocked or upset…no they're just pissed off. Jimmy says he doesn't care if they have to face them in a handicap match they want them in the ring this Monday night for some revenge….."Nightmare" Danny Davis comes out and says that he says what Ron Fuller did and it was nothing short of disgusting, Robert interjected that he what Street and Dundee did to Kenny Wayne was uncalled for as well. Davis agreed but said that it would be a little bit before Kenny could return to get revenge on Street and Dundee…BUT….in the meantime, he would be more than happy to team with Fuller and Golden and take on the Stud Stable this Monday night…..Robert replied, 'Son, it would be much appreciated!' The three leave together to go find Fritz or Buddy Wayne to make this happen. Gordon says he was just handed the line up for the UWF Southern Heavyweight Championship tournament tomorrow night in Jacksonville, Florida: CCW Summer Heatwave Tour 1985 Jacksonville Coliseum Jacksonville, FL. Olympia says he feels terrible that 'Nightmare' Ken Wayne was injured while coming to his aid last week and that if Danny Davis ever needs him as a partner he'll wrestle twice in the same night if need be, but right now his focus is on taking the mask off Super Olympia and running him out of town…he says this week Buddy Wayne has signed a 'Southern Street Fight' between himself and Super Olympia and he's going to rip that mask right off his head…..but first he's headed to Jacksonville to go after that Southern Heavyweight title because it will bring him another step closer towards regaining his Continental Heavyweight title. Coach then brings in the Bullet. Bullet says that this week he's teaming with the Armstrongs Brad and Scott and not only are they going to get to knock around the Humperdink boys but if they win they get a shot at the UWF World Six Man Tag Team titles and that young Brad is itching to put some more gold around their waist! In the fourth match of the night Rocky Johnson pinned Ted Allen with a sunset flip UWF Rep Buddy Wayne said that he and Fritz have signed a Four Corners #1 Contenders match for this Monday to crown a #1 Contender to whomever wins the Television Championship here today and will receive a championship match right here next week as that title will be defended every week on television. He says Gordon will let us know who will be involved in that match in a moment. The new UWF World Six Man Tag Team Champions the Stud Stable (Big John Studd/Eddie Gilbert/Tommy Rich) w/"The Tn. Stud" Ron Fuller come out to the desk and are met by Joe Pedicino. Joe asks Ron Fuller how he could turn his back on his own family. Fuller says look at all this gold right here…Southern Tag Team titles, World Six Man Tag Team Titles…these guys are winners….these guys are Studs…unlike those two losers Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden…they've become a joke and no longer claim them as part of my family….now they've went out and recruited a midget like 'Nightmare' Danny Davis to be their partner?? Do they not remember that the NEW AND IMPROVED Stud Stable has the one and only GIANT in professional wrestling Big John Studd on our team! It's laughable really. Eddie Gilbert welcomes Ron Fuller to the stable and says they are proud to have him and he can't blame him for dropping those two LOSERS! Big John Studd looks in the camera and holds up his fist and says, "if you think you're heart broken now….it gets worse!" They all laugh as they leave the desk.
