GeneJackson95
Great tag matches on the last show! Martel is elevating Samu big time!
SirEdger
Yeah, Samu has been that one obstacle that Rick Martel hasn't been able to really solve yet. He definitely has his number and he needs to overcome this once and for all if he wants to beat Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! kevinmcfl
Tag team division is rolling. Martel going down to Samu hurts his chances at holding on to the #1 contenders status. Wonder if the NWA has other plans for Martel and Flair. We will just have to wait and see.

Postmatch, Bob Backlund says that if the Sheik wants a shot at his title, all he had to do was ask. Backlund says he's gonna put his Quebec Heavyweight Championship on the line in 48 hours in Jackson, MS against the Sheik and the Sheik accepts! However, if Armand Rougeau regains the title in his rematch tomorrow night in Jupiter, FL, this will be a non-title match. -Gino Brito beat Masked Confusion #2 in 7:24 -NWA World Tag Team Champion Botswana Beast (w/Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman) beat Dino Bravo in 16:47 -Matt Borne (subbing for Shawn Michaels) & Marty Jannetty beat The Sensationals ("Ace" Bob Orton & "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers, w/Sherri Martel) in 25:06 Street Fight: Gilles "The Fish" Poisson beat Raymond Rougeau in 34:08 after the interference of a masked man wearing a cowboy hat & leather vest, very reminiscent to the Masked Cowboys who attacked the Rougeaus last year....Déjà vu all over again? SirEdger
NWA Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted September 28th, 1985 -Opening up this week's show, "Pretty Boy" Floyd Creatchman and his Samoan SWAT Team of Prince Alofa Fatu & The Great Samu are invited to the broadcast booth. Floyd says that it's no secret that a certain someone wants Rick Martel out of his sights and that's what he's here for. Floyd reminds the viewers at home that The Great Samu has Rick Martel's number and he's the one that will get the job done. Floyd says he's looking forward to this week's main event as the Creatchman Family will take on Armand Rougeau & Rick Martel. Floyd concludes that it's very telling that Rick Martel picked the "lesser talented Rougeau" to team with him as a metaphore of his state of mind when he crosses paths with The Great Samu... -In the opening match, Strong Machine #2 easily defeated Laverne Arterbury with a DDT. Postmatch, a note from Super Strong Machine is handed to the broadcast booth in which he states that he officially is returning to Japan as the NWA Canadian International TV Champion and this is the last they'll ever see of it because even if he loses it, it's gonna be against a fellow Japanese and as they're superior wrestlers to North Americans, there's no chance in hell that Lutte Internationale will ever see this title back ever again. Promoter Frank Valois appears for a rare time in front of the camera to tell Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier that he's working closely with his team of attorneys to make sure that Super Strong Machine gets to defend his title in Canada again, even though he has fulfilled his commitments with Lutte Internationale. -Up next, in 6-men tag team action, Frenchy's Legion - Frenchy included square off against the unusual trio of Sensational member "Ace" Bob Orton & the Bolshevik Revolution of Alexis Smirnoff & Boris Zhukov. Sherri Martel & Baron Von Raschke are allowed at ringside for this match. The broadcast team hypes this match as a possible way to determine the next contenders to either NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champions the Vachons or NWA World Tag Team Champions Botswana Beast & Lord Humongous. To no surprise to everyone, Frenchy Martin is the first one eliminated following a piledriver from "Ace" Bob Orton. Orton is the next one eliminated after a backbreaker from Mad Dog Lefebvre. The next elimination comes as Boris Zhukov accidentally strikes Alexis Smirnoff in their corner and Richard Charland rolls up Zhukov with a handful of tights. Alexis Smirnoff is left alone to fend for himself against Charland & Mad Dog and while he gives it a valiant effort, a superplex from Charland allows them to take the win. The broadcast team hypes this as a huge win for Frenchy's Legion and definitely puts them in title contention against either the Vachons or the Creatchman Family. -Time for the feature bout of the week as Creatchman Family members Prince Alofa Fatu & The Great Samu take on the team of Armand Rougeau & Rick Martel. Despite the bravado shown by Floyd Creatchman in the opening promo, it seems like Samu is doing everything to avoid Rick Martel and it's on Armand Rougeau that they're working on instead. The broadcast team hypes how much Rick Martel has changed since Heatwave and how much he's hellbent on destroying Ric Flair and whoever crossed him. It will finally take a missed double headbutt by Samu & Fatu for Armand Rougeau to tag in Rick Martel! Martel is a house of fire and goes straight for The Great Samu! Major comeback from the former champion and he's finally about to take the monkey off his back after a crossbody block on Samu when all of a sudden, Floyd Creatchman starts yelling Ric Flair's name towards the entrance area. Rick Martel immediately jumps outside the ring and makes a beehive for the locker room. In the meantime, Floyd has tossed a chair to Fatu and they're about to make a number on Armand when Rick Martel bolts out of the locker room with a chair himself! Martel shoves referee Adrien Desbois out of his way and goes after everyone in sight associated with The Creatchmans! The match officially ends in a no-contest and the show ends with Martel standing over his fallen partner, still waving the chair, daring Fatu & Samu to come back. Is Ric Flair getting inside Rick Martel's head? À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!
SirEdger
September 28th, 1985 Jupiter, FL 2nd leg of the 3-day US Loop -Mad Dog Lefebvre comes out, dressed in his tuxedo bought to him by Ric Flair after the Heatwave incidents with Rick Martel and he starts disparaging fans on hand. After a few minutes, NWA Enforcer Bruno Sammartino comes out and asks Mad Dog to leave because the show has to start. Mad Dog rants on and on that he's not gonna do nothing because he's a friend of Ric Flair and Flair has more power in the NWA as its champion than Bruno is as the Board of Directors' special enforcer. Bruno has enough and locks Mad Dog in a bearhug! Bruno ends up totally ripping off Mad Dog's tux of his back and Lefebvre is heading distraught to the locker room as Frenchy Martin comes out with a bathrobe to cover Mad Dog's who's now in his underwear! -Chris Benoit & Black Bart score a huge win over The Rougeau Brothers in 17:46 after his Texas Trash Compactor on Jacques! Before the match, Black Bart openly revealed himself as the Masked Cowboy who attacked Raymond after his match in Southfield, MI last night. And after the victory, Black Bart tells the world that now that he has pinned the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion, he's gonna take the title away from him. Black Bart officially challenges Jacques Rougeau to come defend his title in World Class Championship Wrestling and it doesn't matter when and where because he will take the title away from him! -Chavo Guerrero beat "Ace" Bob Orton (w/Sherri Martel) in 9:22 -Billy Robinson (w/Sherri Martel) beat "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal in 12:59 Quebec Heavyweight Championship: Bob Backlund beat Armand Rougeau in 3:43 to retain -Prince Alofa Fatu (w/ "Pretty Boy" Floyd Creatchman) beat Mando Guerrero in 10:04 -Terry Funk beat Shawn Michaels in 9:

dawho5
I like Martel's story so far. I am pulling for him getting that win over Samu and going into the Flair bout with some steam. Also, I like building up Samu this way as well. Programs that benefit both guys are always a plus.
