Absolutely fantastic. Most of the match is ZSJ just torturing Yano, but Yano keeps on escaping, and gets a few absolutely TREMENDOUS, best of the year -level, nearfalls in. Couldn't have asked for a better match between the 2. ****1/4

I'm loving this serious Yano. He's always been able to deliver, but he chooses not to and we're seeing what he can actually do when he wants to. This match is mostly him trying to survive Sabre's submission. The 2nd countout tease spot with Sabre tangling Yano in the barricade and barely making it before the 20 got me big time and thought it was over. Hope Yano tries to adapt to whoever his opponent is because it's a blast to watch right now. ***1/2

This was MOTN on what was probably the best night of the G1 so far. Those countout teases, which have come to feel very formulaic in NJPW, really worked, and ZSJ's growing frustration made for a very engaging story. Yano, as ever, has the best nearfalls in the business, and the whole thing peaked at the right time. A top five match of the tournament, as of night four.

This was fun. Yano rules and Sabre was a little more...uh, believable here? Maybe? I don't know -- at least he stuck to one body part.

Best Yano match I've ever seen, and one of the top performances through the first four shows of the G1. So many great, unconventional false finishes and they had the crowd so engaged.
