kevinmcfl
The USWA card of the Year was AWESOME! Enjoyed how it showcased all three promotions. You three working together is great for the game. Enjoy the new venture and I like how you explained that it was a true world title. Way to end some angles and get others going right away! Billy Jack Strong is here and seems to be ready to go. Money Man Morrow continues to be one of my favorites. Wonder what brought Kelly to the ring. Bruise Brothers are going to be HUGE! My new favorite team in the game. Wonder where Gene is going to go with the Violent Gentlemen. There was some problems going on before they lost the titles. Dundee is a master at going from good to bad. This could be fun. The match of the night might have been St. Clair vs SBS. Clair is becoming a superstar. Ayala and Colon have gone through some major wars with you. Nice to see them both come out on type. Wildfire is my favorite and I wish I saw some of his heel stuff in Memphis. Enjoying reading your version. HUGE SPIKE PILEDRIVER ON THE CONCRETE. That will bring heat for months to come. Slater and Dream could fight every day and I would still watch. Slater won this one but that cpuld change tomorrow. With that wild brawl, you could go in so many directions. I must question the Vin Man's IQ Funk puts Lawler down in Memphis... very Memphis like of you as Memphis is known for the unexpected. I am sure Lawler will be back to regain his thrown but Funk has so many enemies in wrestling that we might have to wait a bit. AWESOME WAY TO END THE YEAR! GeneJackson95
After a long build up and a lot of anticipation, Wrestlestorm 2 is finally here!! Jerry Jarrett kicks things off with a bang announcing the USWA title is officially a WORLD championship....raising the stakes in the heated Lawler/Funk main event even more! Great 8 man tag with a lot of bad blood involved and what a great way to debut Billy Jack Strong! My man Champagne Morrow get the win and keeps the green....DJ Peterson showed up here with an enemy from the WWF named Kevin Kelly and it looks like Kelly never let that bad blood be forgotten! Morgan gets the win in the highly anticipated chain match and this victory has certainly raised his stock in the USWA! The Bruise Brothers have been on fire since debuting as a tag team and the momentum roles on as they become the Central States tag team champions! I really thought Sweet Brown Sugar was going to take the TV title here but Tony St. Clair's death grip on the belt remains in tact! The tag team tornado street fight was the fans could have hoped for and then some.....happy to see the Richs come out on top! Mike George chose wisely bringing the Technicians to watch his back! He gets the victory over Gagne and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. Thanks once again for hosting a Twin States tag title match (and title change!) on this huge event! You wrote on helluva match and plenty of reasons for fans to want to tune to my next show....to see what's going to happen with the former champs Dundee and Barnes? Also, hopefully we'll get some insight on why Tommy/Johnny Rich attacked Armstrong/Cooley! After a brutal, brutal feud in recent weeks...Carlos Colon seemingly wins the war against Singh.....or so it seems. A great USWA tag team title match between Karachi Vice and the Gunslingers! After thinking the Gunslingers were the new champs and having the titles go back to the Karachi Vice, you can bet the fans are going to be ready see a team surface that can take the gold from the Vice......Bruise Brothers perhaps?? After a great build Dick Slater gets revenge and takes the Central States Championship from Dr. Dream Machine and even stands on his chest with the belt just for a little added insult to injury, great match! The Grapplers send a message to the Road Warriors in the Beauty Shop....at the expense of the Vin Man.....shouldn't have butted in the Grapplers' business I guess. EPIC MAIN EVENT that sends the fans home in shock as the unthinkable happens.....the King loses the big one in Memphis.....I can't wait to hear Funk's promo after this one!! Spaldoni, you've done it again my friend....you are so great at building up these supercards but the great thing is....you ALWAYS deliver! Kudos! Proud to be a part of it! spaldoni
USWA TV @ The Knoxville Civic Center 12-11-85 Highlights of WrestleStorm 2 are shown to John Mellencamp's "Crumblin Down" Lance Russell: Hello Everyone and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA Network. WrestleStorm 2 has come and gone, and what an event it was. We'll be talking about that tremendous event throughout the program. We'll be hearing from the new USWA World Champion, Terry Funk as well as the former champ Jerry Lawler. Both men were recently released from the hospital and will be addressing us from their homes. Big matches set for tonight, Siva Afi will take on Duke Myers and the winner will receive a Central States title shot on our special Christmas Eve TV Program. Billy Jack Strong will meet Timothy Flowers. Two popular wrestlers making their USWA debuts tonight, Lance Von Erich and Joe Savoldi will go one on one. USWA Tag Champs Karachi Vice will be in the ring as well as the new Central States Tag Champs The Bruise Brothers. Right now I want to welcome out Jerry Jarrett with a special presentation. Jarrett: (holding a case) Thank you very much Lance and I want to thank all the great fans for making Wrestlestorm 2 a huge success. All I can say is I can't wait for WrestleStorm 3. Speaking of that great event, I would like to ask that the new Central States Champ Dick Slater come on out here. Cheers as Slater comes out. Jarrett: Dick, congratulations on your title victory. 1986 is going to be an amazing year for the USWA. We already announced that the USWA title has been recognized as a world title. As for the Central States title, that will now be known as the Mid America Title. So Dick Slater, I would like to present to you this here Mid America title belt. Jarrett opens the case, pulls out the championship belt and hands it to Slater. Slater: Thank you Mr. Jarrett. Right now I want to let all my fans know that I'll proudly defend this title against anyone at anytime. Dick Slater loves to fight and Dick Slater will be a fighting champ! (holds up the title and a fist) Alright! Lance: Ok, Dick Slater now the Mid America Champ. Fans, our first match when we come back. Commercial Break Lance Von Erich vs. "Jumping" Joe Savoldi Both of these guys were recent fan favorites in Texas and have now ventured into Tennessee. The bell rings and both men shake hands. Their fast paced styles are very similar and they give the fans a solid back and forth match. Both men use drop kicks, arm drags, hip tosses, sunset flips, back drops, leapfrogs, and headscissors. At the 8 minute mark, Savoldi rolls up Lance off the ropes but Lance carries the momentum over and rolls Savoldi up 1..2..3! Both men get up. Lance offers his hand but the disappointed Savoldi just walks out of the ring. Lance: Congratulations Lance Von Erich and welcome to the USWA. What a way to debut. That match could of went either way but you came out on top. LVE: It's so great to be here Lance and I'm really excited to take on the competition here. I have some pretty big goals for 1986 and I look forward to achieving them right here! Commercial Break USWA Tag Team Champs Karachi Vice vs. Gary Williams and Todd Rooney Total squash. Makhan swings Rooney into the corner and hits a running splash then tags in Gama. Gama hits a backbreaker and clamps on the camel clutch for the victory. Boos as they head to the podium. Lance: At WrestleStorm, the Gunslingers appeared to have the titles won but ended up getting disqualified. Gama: Stop right there! Appeared to have the titles won? They were never close to winning our titles! Makhan: That's right! They cheated and got DQed, Sorry but they broke the rules and we rightfully won the match. Pull your head out of the gutter Lance! Lance: Ok, alright. Well right here on our New Years Eve program, you will be defending those titles against the Nightmares from Twin States. They won a tough battle royal to earn this shot. Gama: I don't care what they won, they will not defeat us! Nobody can! USWA, Texas, Twin States, it doesn't matter who we face, we will defeat them all! Makhan: Because we're the best tag team on the planet! Commercial Break "The Lone Wolf" Jessie Barr vs. Sam Smith Barr is a bit unhinged as he punches Smith down, stomps away then gives him a boot rake. Barr picks up Smith and drops him on the top rope then drops several knees on Smith's leg. Barr finishes Smith off with a spinning toe hold. The bell rings but Barr wont release the hold. The Ref threatens to reverse the decision and Barr finally releases. Commercial Break Jessie Barr is still pacing around the ring and yelling. Lance: Jessie Barr is defiantly off. Right now I want to bring out Mike George. Mike, you have been undefeated since coming back. Your latest being a victory over Greg Gagne at Wrestlestorm. I know you're feeling good about taking care of the Elite. You now have been given a TV title shot on Christmas Eve. How's that sound? Mike: Great news indeed! I've worked hard and... WHAM!!! Jessie Barr clotheslines Mike from behind! Barr stomps on Mike then hurls him in the ring. Barr drags Mike to the corner then rolls out of the ring, grabs Mike's leg and slams it on the steel post! Barr does this a few more times then gets back in the ring and applies the figure four leglock! Officials storm the ring. Lance: What's wrong with Jessie Barr? He's clearly out of his mind! Commercial Break Lance: Mike George was stretchered out of here and Jessie Barr was escorted out of the building. I'll keep you posted on the condition of Mike George. Let's go back to the ring. "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly vs. Carl Kellerman Kelly clamps on the full nelson and it's all over. Kelly swings his opponent around and tosses him. Boos as Kelly does some arrogant posing before heading to the podium. Lance: I've got to ask. Why were you out there at Wrestlestorm during the Morrow/DJ Peterson match? Kelly: (laughs) Two reasons. I was paid and I simply don't like DJ Peterson. Never have, never will. And now I don't have to see his stupid face around here, all thanks to Gerry Morrow. Oh and by the way, my good buddy Vinnie Valentino is doing well after that unprovoked attack by those dirty Grapplers. Thanks for asking Lance. I'm outta here. Lance: (rolls his eyes) we'll be back Commercial Break A music video is shown of the FABULOUS ONES to the Busboys "Boys are back in town" Fabulous Ones are coming to the USWA! Central States Tag Team Champs The Bruise Brothers vs. Willie Lopez and Vic Dutro The fans are on their feet as The Bruise Brothers enter the ring wearing sparkling blue vests, blue wrestling pants, blue beanies and of course their newly won titles around their waists. Cash nails Dutro with a crossbody diving headbutt and tags in Snowman. Snowman finishes things off with his running powerslam! Cheers as "We are family" plays and the Bruise Brothers hold up their central states tag titles. Lance: (Smiling) Our central states champions, the Bruise Brothers! I'm expecting big things from that team in 1986. Boos as Gerry Morrow strolls out in a nice white suit, fedora, sunglasses, a bottle of champagne and his Billionaire's Title on his shoulder. Morrow: HAHAHAHA! Today is de day Lance. You will join me in a toast. A toast to my successful Billionaire's Title defense at de Wrestlestorm. Lance: Oh come on, that is not a recognize title in the USWA Morrow: Just for dat comment, I will not waste dis expensive champagne on you. Dis is a recognized championship because I say it is. And as everybody knows de golden rule, he who has de gold, makes de rules. (Laughs) As for de Billionaire's title, I will defend dis title with honor and pride. Now if you will excuse me, I will go find somebody worthy to toast with. Good Day. Lance: Yea, maybe Kevin Kelly is still around. We'll be back. Commercial Break Lance: Before we get to our next match, Duke Myers and Timothy Flowers are with me. Don't you two have matches to prepare for? Flowers: Oh yea, I'm taking on yet another injun. I ran Sunny Whinny Cloud out of town and now I have Billy Jack Weak here to avenge him. What a joke. I'm going to send him home crying and then my main man Duke is going to do the same to Siva Afi. Tell em Duke. Lance: If I may, but how long are you going to wear that sleeve on your arm and use it for foreign objects? Duke: Shut up Lance! This is a legit injury and at the hands of that savage Siva Afi. I'm the victim here and tonight Afi will pay! Flowers: You're looking at Hard Knocks brother! You like that Lance? You can call us that from now on. Got it! Lance: Back to the ring. My goodness. Billy Jack Strong vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers Cheers as The Ref tells Duke Myers to head to the back. The bell rings but Flowers is still throwing a tantrum at the Ref. Strong turns Flowers around and unloads. Strong swings him to the ropes and clotheslines him down. Strong picks up Flowers and sends him flying with an overhead back suplex! Strong picks up Flowers and once again sends him flying with an overhead back suplex! Flowers bounces and rolls under the ropes then staggers around and falls down. Flowers gets back up and staggers to the back which results in a count out. Lance: Maybe Flowers should of been more prepared. Billy Jack Strong, come on over. Welcome to the USWA. Strong: Lance, I'm pumped up and ready brother! Flowers just found out what I'm all about and I hope everyone else took notice. I'm here to face the best and win some gold. This is the place to be and I'm going to turn heads in 1986! Strong gives a double bicep pose as the fans cheer Commercial Break Lance: Fans, I've been told the Beauty Shop returns next week and Brenda promises a big announcement. I'll be conducting a special interview with the Grapplers. TV champ Tony St. Clair and Les Thornton will be here. On that note, I've been told Mike George is at a nearby hospital and I'm not sure if he'll be able to compete for the TV title on Christmas Eve. Well fans, I'm going to take you to the new USWA World Champion Terry Funk, at his home in Amarillo. Funk: (bandage on forehead and over his eye) I told you people what I was going to do and I sure as hell did it! (Holds up the USWA title) I beat your hero Lawler in his home town! How does that feel Lawler? Look at my eye! That pig Lawler tried to permanently blind me but here I am holding the USWA World Title! Now that I'm done with that jackass Lawler, it's time to move on and defend this title. My title! This message is for you Johnny Mantell. In two weeks you're going to get a beating at Season's Beatings. I saw your sit down interview and your 'Golly Gee, I'm just thankful for the opportunity' attitude and I wanted to puke! Listen to me closely boy. You have no chance in hell of taking this here title from me. Terry Funk is a Texas legend and there's no way I'm coming to Texas and losing this title to a wannabe cowboy like you. My brother Dory is going to win the Texas Title and I'm going to retain my title and it's going to be a wonderful Christmas at the Funk's house this year. Commercial Break Winner gets a Mid America Title shot on Christmas Eve "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi vs. "Master of Disaster" Duke Myers The bell rings and these guys have a furious exchange. Myers gets the upper hand with an eye rake and kick to the gut followed by a gut wrench suplex 1..2.Kick Out. Myers stomps away then drops an elbow 1..2..Kick Out. Myers swings Afi to the corner and charges but Afi moves and Myers hits hard. Both men stagger up. Afi nails Myers with a jumping headbutt then swings him to the corner and follows with a running clothesline. Afi hops on the turnbuckles and the fans count along as he punches Myers 10 times then Monkey Flips him over. Afii swings off the ropes and hits a body splash 1..2..Wait a minute! Flowers from out of nowhere pulls Afi's legs. The Ref gets up and threatens Flowers. Flowers denies everything. Cheers as Billy Jack Strong runs out and chases Flowers to the back. While all this is going on. Myers loads up his sleeve. Afi picks Myers up and Myers rakes his eyes and clotheslines him down 1..2..3!! Lance: What a robbery. Siva Afi had the match in total control until Flowers came out. And to top it off, Myers once again loaded that dang sleeve. Just terrible. Well I guess Dick Slater will defend the Mid America Title against Duke Myers on Christmas Eve. Well fans before we go, I want to take you to Jerry Lawler. I'll see you next week. Lawler: (bandaged up forehead) First off, I want to apologize to all my fans especially the ones in attendance in Memphis. That was the most heartbreaking loss of my career. I just can't sit around and feel sorry for myself. I want to get right back in the thick of things. Which is why I've signed to wrestle the Tennessee Stud Ron Fuller on the New Year's Eve program. Ron is one of the best and he's the type of competitor I need to get back in the ring with. The King will come back better than ever. That's a promise! kevinmcfl
And the USWA just continues to roll on. Nice job moving on from the huge success at Wrestlestorm. I like Lance VonErich and Joe Savoldi. It will be interesting if Savoldi goes heel here as he was not happy with his defeat. I think it is a good move changing the title from Central States to Mid-America and Slater is a great first champ. Morrow and the Bruise Brothers are some of my favorites in the game. I hope they have big 86's. Funk is going to make a great traveling champ all across the USWA as he can sell tickets anywhere. Looking forward to seeing what's next. Wonder if we get a Lawler-Funk rematch somewhere down the line or if Lawler feuds with someone else. 86 will be great for the trio that makes up the USWA. Blehschmidt
Man, the USWA Title gets recognized as a World Championship, and all of a sudden they go upgrading the Central States belt they inherited from World Class into a Mid America Championship? I see how it is..... Anyway, you couldn't have a better first champion than Dick Slater. Looking forward to seeing who steps up to fight him for it. Lance Von Erich takes the step into the big time and comes away with the win! Savoldi didn't look happy, but he's had a rough few months. I'm sure he'll be fine.... Karachi Vice gloating about their "big win" over The Gunslingers. Now they have The Nightmares to worry about. They have people coming at them from all directions, but it doesn't seem to be shaking their confidence. Jesse Barr making quite the impact on his first night. He could make quite the impact here, if he doesn't crazy his way out the door! and I wrote that before he attacked Mike George! George is getting himself a TV Title Shot on Christmas Eve, which will be a big match, but that's if he makes it! Kevin Kelly gets a nice win, and then tells it like it is! I hope this is the beginning of a nice singles run for "Mr. Magnificent." I was having fun with him in the WWF, and I think he can do well here in USWA. As if the tag team scene here in the USWA isn't already ri-god damn-diculous, now the Fabulous Ones are coming!! Wow!! Speaking of the tag division, the new Central States Tag Team Champions, and my boys, The Bruise Brothers pick up a nice win as that train keeps rolling! and then we get a Champagne promo! This quarter hour is doing huge numbers!! Billy Jack Strong tosses Flowers around like he's nothing! That's how you make an entrance! Welcome to the USWA indeed!! Thanks to Mr. Funk for putting over Texas All Star's Seasons Beatings on USWA TV. Live from the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday Night 12/18. Tickets available at all major outlets! Myers picks up the cheap win in the main event of Afi, after Flowers gets involved, then Strong chases him off! I think this feud is going to get ugly! Lawler closes the show and announces that he is going to wrestle Ron Fuller on Christmas Eve. Hmmm.. somehow I have a bad feeling about this. USWA has been on a roll, and coming out of WrestleStorm things are changing for sure, but the company is still hot! Loving it Spaldoni! Den Scorpio
Working to get caught up on things, but I just had to chime in on Wrestlestorm! Talk about making a major organizational announcement right out of the chute! Great to see it happen as the PPV takes the air, as opposed to the tail-end of the go-home TV for example. Gives a real sense of venturing into a new world by having it lead off the big supershow. Like the hard-hitting opener with Basserab & Doring. Both guys came across strong, and neither took the fall -- although I sense neither would have been hurt badly if they had. Way to set the tone. Strong was a cool surprise addition to the match, and ended up the straw that stirred the drinks in the 8-Man. Full action right off, ending with the explosive feel-good finish. Talk about heat - in this Money vs. Leave Town affair. Kelly is a heat magnet here, then walks away like nothing happened. Miscarriage of Justice City here! Morrow continues to roll as 1 of the hotter heels in the industry right now. Gotta feel for DJ! Great sendoff ends this chapter in his career. Chain Match time! I knew this would be brutal. Right off the gun, both Ayala & Morgan are slugging it out with fists wrapped in that chain? Yeah... I'm in. The visual of Ayala flinging Morgan across the ring with the chain around his neck, and essentially whiplashing him down in mid-flight was a for-sure "Oh Snap" moment. Followed by a chain-wrapped fist-drop for a... TWO COUNT! Bruh... I did not see that finish coming. Captured the true sense of a real fight that can end at any moment, despite it following an Oh-Snap moment, just prior. Great job here. Match of the night so far, for its abruptness. Speaking of abrupt! Bruise Brothers take out The Elite in short order! Awesome moment. Liking these Central State Tag Titles on the Bruise Brothers. Loving the dominant way they snag them. Good stuff. Almost seemed like David was being sent packing... somewhere... Great TV Title match with St. Clair & Sugar here, which continued to build as time went along. Great near-falls, highlighting each man's desire to end it whenever they sensed daylight. St. Clair getting the duke, retaining the Title, and the somewhat unexpected show of sportsmanship at the end - all felt right, here. LET'S FIGHT! The Rich's vs. Borne & Oliver. Man I could just see every bit of this. It's that Down Home Cookin'-style fightin' that made southern pro wrestling in the 80's so special. Chaotic match. What a heated finish this was. Spike piledriver on the concrete is elementary! And making Borne watch it! Then adding insult with the drinks in the face afterwards, as Oliver lay broken on the arena floor. Man... that's the down home cookin'. Hell to pay, coming out of this. The PPV Intermission used to be a character unto itself! Many of us are old enough to remember that used to be a thing. George gets the poetic win. To me, that's the right finish for the right moment. Cooley & Armstrong with the great tag fluidity, acing out the Violent Gentlemen to win the Titles. Great attack by the Rich's to pour more chicken grease on an already hated duo on this night. Building blocks underway for this rivalry moving forward. Nothing like ruining a title celebration to make things more personal than they'd have otherwise been. Man, what a brutal fight with Colon & Singh! Again, the simplistic, straightforward nature of the night's most graphic fights is what makes these battles "feel" more visceral to the viewer. An art form, to be sure. The big USWA Tag Title bout! The Gunslingers have themselves one of the damndest tag wars they've had, and outlast Karachi Vice to win gold!!... Or did they!?... Somewhere, Dusty twitched with a smirk. Certainly plays on the rising and falling dynamic of an audience's emotions. Curious to see the fallout from this one. Slater with the dominating finish to win the Central States Title! See what I discussed earlier about the straightforward nature of these battles. That closing flurry from Slater were of a man desperately seeking to win a fight & put his adversary out. And that he did in grand fashion! The Moment of Truth: The war everyone's been waiting for! And man, did it ever not disappoint! The heat was palpable in the air. Both of these greats beat the literally fire out of each other. The physicality just bleeds through the screen here! Exhausted from this war of attrition, an incidental collision puts them both out... except Funk lands second & finds himself Champion 3 seconds later! What a fight! What a finish! Funker is the Champ! As much as I wouldn't have been shocked that Terry might come out on top after all that's happened prior to tonight, my gut had King prevailing. What an historic moment! Can't wait for the fallout from this one, as this rivalry has been pure gold. Wow... the vibe in that building as that show ended, as they file out to the corridor & then to the parking lot... man. Then again, look who's talking! Excellent show! Lived up to the great hype & then some. Lot of new beginnings, and the coming TV's should be top-notch as a result. Looking forward to it. Keep up the great work.
GeneJackson95
I like the switch to the Mid-America Championship and agree that Dick Slater will make a great first Mid-America Champion! Great win for Lance Von Erich in his debut....and looks like Savoldi is a little salty about the loss in his debut....we may see a different side of Mr. Savoldi soon. Karachi Vice dominate their match and seem confident they will dominate the competition after barely escaping with the titles at Wrestlestorm. They've got the Nightmares coming up and they can't be happy to see the Fabs on their way in soon. "Lone Wolf" Jesse Barr makes an impression in his debut both in the ring and out.....I have to admit I just became a bigger fan of Barr after his attack on Mike George...lol The Bruise Brothers are on fire right now after winning the Central States Tag titles and are certainly another team that Karachi Vice need to watch out for...... Come on Lance!! You can't have a toast with the new Billionaires champ?? Great stuff from Morrow as always! Flowers/Meyers as 'Hard Knocks'....I like it! Billy Jack "Weak" lol Speaking of Billy Jack, I think he stands to do much better here as a babyface Billy Jack Strong than he did as "Sadistic" Steve in Twin States, he's off to a great start! Funk delivers the arrogant promo you'd expect after making good on his promise to beat the King in a cage in Memphis! It doesn't get any bigger than that in Memphis! Lawler is keeping his chin up coming off that huge loss as he now looks towards a match with Ron Fuller......looking forward to that one! spaldoni
USWA TV @ The Knoxville Civic Center 12-18-85 Lance Russell: Hello again everybody and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA Network. Right now I want to talk about two big TV specials coming up. First, on Christmas Eve, you will see Dick Slater defend the Mid America Title against Duke Myers. The Bruise Brothers will defend the Central States tag titles against The Devil's Duo. I'll have news regarding the TV title bout a little bit later. Next up, on New Years Eve, you will see Jerry Lawler go up against Ron Fuller. Karachi Vice will defend the USWA tag titles against the Nightmares from Twin States. And listen to this, Terry Funk will defend the USWA World Title against Carlos Colon. Speaking of Colon, I understand he was challenged to a match tonight and has accepted. I'm not sure.... All of a sudden, a man storms out. Lance: Curtis Iaukea! What on earth are you doing here? Curtis: Many years ago I had a vicious rivalry with a vicious enemy! A lot of these scars on my forehead are from him. We spilled a lot of blood in the midst of all our wars in the ring! That enemy's name is Tiger Jeet Singh! After 15 long years Singh contacted me. He told me I was the only one on this planet more evil than him. He said if there was one man who could destroy Carlos Colon it would be me! Singh offered me a lot of money and I accepted! It starts tonight when Colon faces this man...a man who knows Colon, a man who despises Colon and a man who wants to destroy Colon. His name is TNT. TNT comes out and does a martial arts demonstration then folds his arms. Curtis: Colon! If you thought dealing with Singh was dangerous, you are in for the awakening of your life! Curtis and TNT head out. Lance: That was unnerving. I still don't think Colon should get into this until after his upcoming title shot but we all know Colon will never duck a challenge. Colon takes on TNT later tonight. Commercial Break Technicians vs. Willie Lopez and Vic Dutro Technicians just pick their opponents a part. Roop executes a shoulder breaker on Dutro then tags in Rheingans. Roop holds Dutro in an armbar as Rheingans comes off the top rope with a knee to the shoulder for the pin! Technicians cut a promo and say they're back together and on the path to the titles! Commercial Break "The Real Thing" Rip Morgan vs. Sam Smith Rip storms the ring and just destroys his opponent before finishing him off with a big boot to the head! Rip huffs and stomps around the ring then heads to the podium. Lance: (A little nervous) Rip, at Wrestlestorm, Leilani Kai said you were now unleashed. I notice you don't have your chain with you. Rip: I am unchained and unleashed! That means I can inflict as much pain as I want on anybody I want, anytime I want! Hercules Ayala felt my wrath and he's nowhere to be found! Anybody who gets in my way (Slaps his hand) will get hurt very badly! Rip huffs and stomps around before leaving. Lance: I really wish Leilani Kai was around to keep that madman on a chain. We'll be back. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, listen to this. At WrestleStorm, Ben Bassarab and Scott Doring battled it out to a draw. Well tonight they will compete as a team. They've even got a name. Let's check out Powerage. Powerage vs. Carl Kellerman and William Hillman "Flick of the Switch" by ACDC plays as Powerage enters the ring. Bassarab is wearing a RUSH tank top and Doring is wearing a Motley Crue tank top. The fans like what they see as Powerage is in total domination. Doring swings Hillman to the ropes and hits a big powerslam then tags in Bassarab. Bassarab goes to the top and hits a flying leg drop for the pin! Bassarab tells the fans that after the match at Wrestlestorm, him and Doring had a long talk. They discovered they had a lot in common and the same goals, so why not team up and go for it. Powerage is ready to rock in 86! Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the pink 'Beauty Shop' sign then pans to Brenda Britton. Britton: Hi everybody! Did you miss me? Don't worry because the number one segment in wrestling is back. This is a follow up from Wrestlestorm because I still have questions. My guests tonight are the Grapplers. The Grapplers come out. Britton: We've got a lot to talk about boys so let's get right to it. At Mid Atlantic's huge super show Starrcade, you boys made quite the surprise appearance by putting down the Road Warriors and even hurt their manager Paul Ellering with a nasty spike piledriver. Apparently, the Crockett's were so upset that they called Jerry Jarrett and demanded that no footage of that be shown on USWA TV. What do you boys have to say about that? Grappler 1: I say to bad! Hey, they started all of this by destroying the USWA set. Nobody wanted to do anything about it. The wrestlers didn't want to get involved and that spineless so called owner Jarrett wanted to play nice. Well, we did do something about it! Grappler 2: And it felt so good to get payback on their biggest stage! The Road Warriors are done! Grappler 1: But if they're stupid enough to want more. well we would love to finish them off just like we did their pathetic manager! We're done Brenda! Grapplers storm off. Britton: I don't think this is over. The important thing is that the Beauty Shop is back and as you just saw, I get all the hottest scoops. Until next week, toooooodles. Commercial Break Lance: I can tell you right now, the Grapplers and Road Warriors are heading for an explosive showdown. With me right now is Greg Gagne. Greg, I heard that Arnold Skaaland, Bruce Hart and David Sammartino have all left the area. Greg: You're so observant Lance. Yea, thanks to all the corruption around here, Arnold and the Elite are no longer around but Greg Gagne is. Greg Gagne is a winner and Greg Gagne doesn't sit around and cry about things. That's what all these idiot fans would do. Now, Lance I've always considered myself a pretty cool guy. So you know what I did? Lance: I can't imagine. Greg: I went out and found the coolest tag team partner I could find. Please welcome out Jump'n Joe Savoldi. Joe comes out smiling. Lance: Oh come on Joe. What's going on here? Joe: Hey, I want to win. Greg wants to win. So in my book that makes us winners. Greg: That's exactly right. Lance, you and all these idiots remember that I was one half of the legendary High Flyers. You're looking at an upgrade. You can call us High Fly'n Fever and Lance you better catch it! Oh and Technicians, I didn't forget what you did to Arnold at Wrestlestorm. Get ready because we're coming after you first. Now watch us in action and take notes. High Fly'n Fever vs. Todd Rooney and Roy Glader Gagne puts Rooney down with a high dropkick then tags in Savoldi. Gagne picks up Rooney and holds him while Savoldi nails him with a missile dropkick for the win! Commercial Break Lance: With me now is the TV champ Tony St. Clair and his manager Les Thornton. Tony, you were scheduled to defend the TV title against Mike George next week but thanks to Jessie Barr, Mike wont be able to compete. Les: Tremendous shame but it wouldn't of mattered one bit because the result would of been the same. Tony with his hand held up in victory. Lance: I understand there will be... Les: (interrupts) I just want to say I have so much confidence in my champ that as a Christmas present to all our fans, Tony St. Clair will put the TV title on the line next week in an open challenge match to any wrestler in the world. Tony: Hold on Les, I'm not sure that's a good idea. I've been training for Mike George and maybe we should wait until he's healthy. After all, he does deserve his shot. Les: Nonsense. You're the greatest TV champion in USWA history. There's nobody that can beat us. Next week you will defend the title in an open challenge match and will prove once again that you are simply the best. Les walks off. Tony ponders things and doesn't look happy as he walks out. Lance: Ok, an open challenge match for the TV title next week. I don't think the champ was to keen on that idea. Back to the ring. The Devil's Duo w/Goldie Rogers vs. Neil Jones and Peter Moore Duo come out in full biker gear as Goldie escorts them to the ring. Total squash as the Duo just pummels their opponents. Sword hits a backbreaker on Moore and holds him while Vines comes off the top rope with a knee to the mid section for the easy win. Boos as they head to the podium. Goldie: Listen up Jack! The Bruise Brothers reign comes to an abrupt end next week when my Devils Duo beats them up and takes the Central States tag titles! Afterwards they're going to put those titles on their shoulders and ride their Harley's all over town for a Christmas celebration. Commercial Break "The Master of Disaster" Duke Myers w/"Diamond' Timothy Flowers vs. Clinton Stitch Myers is in total control. Just for kicks, Flowers trips Clinton. Clinton stumbles into a loaded clothesline from Myers 1..2..3! Massive boos as they head to the podium. Myers: Dick Slater! That clothesline had your name written all over it. Kiss your title goodbye boy! Lance: Flowers, what was the point of you interfering? Flowers: Duke and I are Hard Knocks baby. You mess with one of us, you mess with both of us. You hear that Dopey Slater? Your title is coming to Hard Knocks. Merry Christmas Lance HAHAHA! Special Challenge Match Carlos Colon vs. TNT w/Curtis Iaukea As soon as Carlos hits the ring, TNT attacks. TNT is all over Colon with martial arts chops. TNT swings Carlos to the ropes and puts him down with a spin kick 1..2..Kick Out. TNT continues to work over Colon. TNT chokes Colon on the bottom rope. The Ref threatens TNT with a DQ. While TNT argues with the Ref, Curtis chokes Colon on the bottom rope. Colon finally staggers up and TNT clamps on the cobra clutch! Colon is fighting as TNT wrenches away. Colon uses all his strength to hop up and push himself back off the turnbuckles. Both men fall backwards with Colon on top 1..2..3! TNT releases the hold thinking he won. The Ref raises Colon's arm as Colon staggers up. Curtis runs in the ring. TNT reapplies the Cobra Clutch. Curtis charges but Colon lifts his knees and nails Curtis with a double kick. Colon runs backwards and slams TNT into the turnbuckles. Both men fall forward. Colon rolls out of the ring and pumps his fist to the cheering fans before exiting. Lance: Smart move by Colon. Hopefully now he can focus on his upcoming USWA world title shot on New Year's Eve. Curtis and TNT storm the podium. Curtis: Colon! This is only the beginning! I will not be satisfied until you are destroyed! The Monster is coming! (maniacal laugh) The monster is coming! YES! The monster is coming! Curtis and TNT exit. Lance: (long pause) I don't know what to say. Curtis Iaukea is one diabolical individual. Fans, next week will be a great night of TV. Three title bouts as a Christmas gift to you. I'll see you next week.
Blehschmidt
SULLLLIIVVVAANNNNNN!!!! Bring Me TNT!! Nice to see someone finally using Curtis in the game! Nice to see the original Technicians back together and picking people apart! I always dug this team, and with two sets of tag straps, hoping to see them picks up some gold. I am excited for Rip Morgan being unleashed. Always enjoyed Rip and I think he can make a big splash here. Looking forward to seeing who he beats up next. Bassarab and Doring make yet another awesome entry into the already stacked tag team division here in USWA. Karachi Vice had better be on the look out. Grapplers still calling out The Road Warriors! They apparently have a death wish. Gagne and Savoldi! Another team enters the fray! The Elite may be dead, but Gagne wasted no time rebounding. Uh Oh. An open challenge for the TV Title. Those usually end up spelling bad news for the champion. I'd hate to see the exceptional reign of St. Clair end that way, but it could certainly lead to some excitement. Wonder who will accept! Bruise Brothers vs Devil's Duo for the Central States belts next week! Nice!! That'll be one heck of a fight!! Myers and Flowers best be careful, Dicky Slater isn't the kind of guy you want coming after you. Colon gets the win, but after that Curtis comes back and lets us know that the Monster is coming!! Now I am excited! Who could King Curtis possibly be bringing in to destroy Colon? (I'm not even going to go look at your roster to find out) Good Stuff as always Spaldoni! Loving the build to the two Eve shows, and then 1986 is going to be a huge year for all of the USWA!!!
kevinmcfl
Can't wait to see the chaos Curtis causes. Curtis vs Colon could go on for ever and I would still watch. Nice job of building up Rip Morgan. I think I dislike Gagne more now then ever. He always bored me but now I dislike him. Great job making the most boring man interesting. Savoldi & Gagne as heels is going to be fun. Bruise Brothers-Devils Duo-Great booking. Never trust Dirty Dick!
GeneJackson95
Awesome! Two big "EVE" specials to look forward to coming up! Count me in as being excited to see King Curtis show up here.....I came very close to picking him up to manage Kamala but I had too many managers already so I didn't do it. He and TNT will make a lot of trouble for Carlos Colon and I'm sure countless others in the USWA. The original Technicians back together.....I like it! An unleashed/unchained Rip Morgan is going to spell trouble for everyone in the USWA....lord forbid he fall under the spell of King Curtis..... Basserab/Doring should make for a formidable tag team....if some sort of tag tournament was to suddenly develop...this would be a team to watch! Greg Gagne is the last man standing in the Elite....and he has quickly rebounded and found a tag team partner in Savoldi, I like the play on the High Flyers name....this team may have legs. The Devil's Duo with Goldie Rogers may just be the ones to shut down all the momentum that the Bruise Brother have going right now, should be a great match Carlos had a rough night with TNT but it looks like he's just getting started because the "MONSTER" is coming....this can't be good news for Carlos or any of the babyfaces in the USWA! Another great show, and the cards are looking good so far for the two big "EVE" specials coming up!
Den Scorpio
"The Monster is coming! (maniacal laugh) The monster is coming! YES! The monster is coming!" I heard Paul Bearer's voice somewhere in there too! I'm intrigued, bring it on!
spaldoni
USWA TV @ The Knoxville Civic Center 12-24-85 Special 2 hour Christmas Eve Special Lance Russell: Hello everybody and a very Merry Christmas to each and every one of you. As a gift to you great fans, tonight's special 2 hour program will include 3 title matches. Also Lance Von Erich will go one on one with Jessie Barr. We'll hear from USWA world champ Terry Funk about his upcoming title defense against Carlos Colon right here next week. Jerry Lawler will be in the arena tonight. Should be...oh, well, would you look who we have coming out (laughing) none other than Santa Claus. Santa goes to the podium and hands Lance a gift, then goes around the ring and hands out gifts to the front row fans. Lance: Well it wouldn't be Christmas Eve without Santa. Fans let's get to the ring in what should be a tremendous match up. Lance Von Erich vs. "The Lone Wolf" Jessie Barr The bell rings but Barr is storming around on the outside and yelling at the fans. He even has some harsh words for Santa Claus. Barr gets in the ring and charges Lance but Lance hip tosses him over. Barr gets up but Lance sends him through the ropes with a dropkick. Barr staggers around then flips over a chair. Barr gets up on the apron and starts pointing and yelling at Lance. Lance goes over, Barr takes a swing but Lance ducks, grabs Barr and back suplexes him back in the ring. Lance continues his onslaught until he swings Barr to the corner and rushes in but Barr bumps the Ref and Lance collides with him. Both Lance and the Ref go down. Lance slowly rises but Barr nails him with a lowblow. Barr rolls out of the ring and grabs a chair then starts to get back in the ring, but wait. The fans go wild as Santa Claus nails Barr from behind with his bag of gifts!! Santa starts nailing Barr with forearm blasts then body slams him on the concrete. Santa takes off his beard and hat. It's MIKE GEORGE! The fans are cheering. George picks up Barr, rams him into the steel post then rolls him back in the ring. Lance Von Erich has no idea what just happened. He gets up, then drops an elbow on Barr. The Ref slowly crawls over and counts 1..2..3!! Lance: I knew Mike wasn't cleared to wrestle for the TV title tonight but Santa Mike gets a measure of revenge on Jessie Barr. After what Barr did to Mike George a few weeks ago, it looked like he was on the naughty list. (laughing) we'll be right back with our first title bout. Commercial Break Central States Tag Team Title Bout The Bruise Brothers (C) vs. The Devil's Duo w/Goldie Rogers This one's hard hitting and goes back and forth. After a few minutes chaos ensues as all 4 men are in the ring brawling. Goldie gets on the apron just as the Bruise Brothers hit stereo back drops on the Duo. Bruise Brothers run over and send Goldie flying off the apron with a double punch. Duo gets up and attacks. Everybody keeps fighting and the Ref finally signals for the DOUBLE DQ. The bell's ringing but the fists keep flying. Lance: My goodness, they're fighting all the way to the back. I'm sure those two teams will meet again. Fans, the tag team division here in the USWA is at an all time high as far as competitiveness goes. I'm sure a lot of teams want a shot at the Central States titles. Boos as the USWA Tag Team Champs, Karachi Vice comes out. Gama: Why are you talking about the Central States tag champions when you should be talking about us, the USWA world tag team champions. Makhan: That's right! We've held these titles since June and nobody has come close to beating us. Nobody! Lance: Fair enough but next week right here on TV, you will defend those titles against the Nightmares from Twin States. Gama: Who cares! We told you. It doesn't matter who Jerry Jarrett sends in. The result will always be the same. These belts will be around our waists for a very long time. I promise you that Lance Russell! A highlight package courtesy of Twin States shows the Nightmares in action. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, you're about to see the debut of a phenomenal young athlete. Let's check him out. "The Mega Man" Tom Magee vs. Vic Dutro The fans take a quick liking to this muscle specimen as stands on the top rope then flips himself into the ring! Magee dominates the match with power moves. He presses Dutro over his head then slams him down. He picks up Dutro, swings him hard into the turnbuckles, grabs his waist and hits a German Suplex for the win! Lance: My goodness, Mega Man come on over. Welcome to the USWA. I've heard about all your strongman records and it's quite obvious just looking at you. Magee: Thank you very much Lance. I've set many strongman records and I'm very proud of those accomplishments. And now I want to make the same impact in the wrestling business. I started about a year ago and have worked in Japan and Canada gaining some valuable experience. I'm so pumped up to be in the USWA! I'm excited Lance! Lance: Ok, the Mega Man is here. I'm looking forward to watching this young powerhouse. We'll be back. Another Video of the Fabulous Ones is shown to the Busboys "Boys are back in town" Commercial Break "The Vin Man" Vinnie Valentino vs. Willie Lopez Vinnie is in full Vin Man mode as he brings out his lady entourage. He gives each lady a peck then gets in the ring. Vinnie works at a fast pace before winning the match with an impressive flying body press from the top rope. Of course Vinnie escorts his entourage to the podium and is joined by his friend Kevin Kelly. Lance: You looked good tonight Vinnie. Better than I thought especially after that beating you took from the Grapplers at Wrestlestorm. Kelly: Shut up Lance! Vinnie: Yea, shut up Lance and listen up. First off, the Grapplers are dead men walking because they have the Road Warriors to worry about. Now I told you that 1986 will be the year of the Vin Man and it will be. Because the Vin Man is getting his crew back together. As you see Mr. Magnificent is here. He's the real deal, not like that phony Magee. Kelly smiles and does a double bicep pose. Kelly: This is what a chiseled body looks like. Little man Magee simply doesn't compare. Vinnie: (laughs) You got that right Kev! Now a crew wouldn't be a crew without a tag team. And Lance in a matter of weeks you're going to see the greatest tag team ever. You want to know their name? Lance: I'm sure you're going to tell me either way. Kelly: I thought I told you to shut up! Lance: Alright, just relax. Go ahead and tell me their name. Vinnie: Are you ready? (Dramatic pause and air drum roll) BODACIOUS! Man I love that name! Don't you? Lance: (smirking) One of the best I've heard Vinnie: Kev's right. Just shut up! Commercial Break Footage is shown of Duke Myers defeating Siva Afi (with help of Timothy Flowers and a loaded arm sleeve) to earn a Mid America title shot Mid America Title Bout "Unpredictable" Dick Slater (C) vs. "Master of Disaster" Duke Myers Myers attacks at the bell and takes it to Slater. Myers punches Slater down then stomps away. Myers grabs the top rope and drops several knees on Slater then chokes him on the bottom rope. Myers picks up Slater and slams his head on the turnbuckles, then body slams him and follows with an elbow drop 1..2..Kick Out. Myers picks up Slater and swings him into the corner and charges in but Slater lifts his knees and Myers crashes into them. Slater starts firing himself up then fires away on Myers with punches. Slater hops in the middle ropes and crashes down with a double axehandle. Boos as Timothy Flowers comes out and starts yelling up at Slater. Slater goes over and yells back. Myers staggers up and nails Slater with a forearm blast to the back of then head. Flowers laughs and cheers his partner on. Cheers as Siva Afi runs out and blasts Flowers! Siva hammers away. Myers sees this and heads to the ropes. Slater gets up and nails Myers with a flying knee to the back. Slater grabs Myers and hits a swinging neckbreaker 1..2..3!!! HUGE POP! Slater retains! Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the pink neon 'Beauty Shop' sign then pans down to Brenda Britton. Britton: (wearing an Elf cap) Hi everybody and Merry Christmas. I know I've been a good girl this year just because of the guest I have tonight. Ladies and Gentlemen, it's my privilege to have such an incredible wrestler out here on my show. Please welcome out the Tennessee Stud Ron Fuller! Fuller comes out smiling and kisses Brenda's hand. Britton: Oh my, I sure know why they call you Stud. That you are. Fuller: Thank you Brenda. You know, the only way I was going to come back to the USWA, was if I got to be a guest on your star studded show. I'm a big fan you know. Britton: Such a compliment coming from a Stud like you. Now, your sights are high because next week on TV, you are going to face none other than the King himself, Jerry Lawler. Personally I don't think a King stands a chance against a real Stud like you. Fuller: You say all the right things Brenda. The only thing I have my sights set on is the USWA World Title. I'm not going to waste any time. I'm going to beat Lawler next week and that should be enough for a title shot. Lawler, you're just a stepping stone that's in my way boy. I'm going to beat you on TV in your own backyard. Once that's done, it's on to the world title. Brenda this has been a thrill. Fuller once again kisses her hand before exiting. Brenda: Well that was exciting! He defiantly is world title material. Lawler, you're in big trouble. Until next week, toooooodles. Commercial Break The Rock n Roll RPMs vs. William Hillman and Todd Rooney RPMs are in synch tonight as they take it to their opponents. They finish things off with the Spandex Split! RPMS cut a promo and say they've been near the top of the USWA all year but in 1986 they promise to win some gold. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, I'm here with Carlos Colon. Carlos, you get a much deserved world title shot against Terry Funk next week on our New Year's Eve special. Before we hear from you, let's hear some comments sent in by the champ Terry Funk. Funk is sitting by his fireplace with his world title up on his mantel. Funk takes a swig from his beer bottle. Funk: All I wanted for Christmas was the world title and I got it a little early. So now I'm here in Amarillo celebrating my title win and Christmas with my family. I just got done giving Johnny Mantell a beating he'll never in his life forget. And now I get to end the year by giving that banana eating savage Carlos Colon a beating he'll never forget. If Carlos Colon thinks he has a prayer of taking this title from me then he better think again and pray harder. He better pray that I show him a little holiday mercy. But you know what? I'm not going to show him any damn mercy. He doesn't deserve it. I told you people 1986 will be the year of the Funker and (points up at his title) that title proves it! Now get out of here because I want to enjoy the holiday cheer. Funk finishes his beer and throws it in the fireplace. The bottle shatters. Funk opens another beer and drinks it while the scene fades. Lance: Tough task ahead Carlos. I have to ask, any distractions from what happened last week with Curtis Iaukea and TNT? And something about a monster coming? Not sure what to make of all that but it has to be a bit distracting. Colon: Lance, I've worked hard all year and was involved in some bloody ring wars. My shot is finally here and I can't let Curtis Iaukea be a distraction. I will warn him and say if he gets involved in any way, I will make him pay dearly. As for you Terry Funk, we've met before and you do not intimidate me in any way. I want that title and next week (pumps his fists) I will win it! Lance: Ok, huge world title bout right here next week. Fans, our open challenge TV title bout when we return. Commercial Break Footage from last week is shown as Les Thrornton issues an open challenge on behalf of a less enthused Tony St. Clair. Thornton and St. Clair are in the ring exchanging some words as they await the challenger. Les is telling Tony to just relax. Lance: Ok, the challenger is set to come out. Oh my! Here comes the Texas Ranger from Texas All-Star Wrestling! Fans, you're in for a real treat. This man has impressed a lot of people, myself included. He's an extremely talented and outstanding competitor. Let's get to the ring. TV Title Bout Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair (C) w/Les Thornton vs. The Texas Ranger The bell rings and Tony looks very confused and doesn't know what to make of the Ranger. Les looks a little worried as well. He pats Tony on the back and exits the ring. They lock up and Ranger arm drags him over. Another lock up and another arm drag by Ranger. Tony gets up and charges but Ranger hip tosses him over. Tony gets up and charges again and another hip toss by Ranger. Tony slides out of the ring and shows some rare frustration. Les goes over to calm him down. Tony slowly gets back in the ring. Tony applies a headlock. Ranger pushes him to the ropes and puts him down with a shoulder block. Ranger swings off the ropes. Tony staggers up and Ranger dropkicks him down. Once again Tony rolls out of the ring as the fans boo. Him and Les have words. Tony gets on the apron and yells at Ranger. Ranger nails Tony with a forearm blast then vertical suplexes him back in the ring. Ranger hops on the middle ropes and drops an elbow 1..2..Kick Out. Ranger picks up Tony and atomic drops him. Tony is wobbling on his feet. Ranger swings off the ropes and clotheslines him down 1..2..Tony barley gets his shoulder up. Les is having a panic attack. Ranger picks up Tony but Tony desperately rakes his eyes the swings him towards the corner but Ranger jumps up on the middle ropes and comes back with a flying press 1..2..Les reaches in and pulls Ranger's boots. Both Ranger and the Ref get up and yell down at a denying Thornton. Tony staggers up and charges at Ranger but Ranger turns around and unloads on Tony. He fires away, swings him to the ropes and hits a big back drop. Les gets on the apron and Ranger dropkicks him off. Tony staggers up and Ranger scoop slams him down. The fans are going wild as Ranger hoists Tony up on the turnbuckles. Ranger hops up and is going for the superplex. Ranger has Tony up but Les gets up and holds Ranger's foot. Ranger falls down with Tony on top 1..2..(Les still holding the foot)..3!!! Lance: What a travesty! The Texas Ranger was in total control of that match and was on the verge of winning the TV title. What a shame! Oh great, here they come. Tony, how can you be pleased with that win? Tony: Les, for the past few weeks we have not seen eye to eye on things. I'm a champion and should conduct myself as such. All I have left to say is...Thank You! HAHAHAHA! What? Did you inferior Americans think there was trouble between us? The only thing that matters is this TV title and me retaining it for UK glory! Oh what because I shook Sweet Brown Sugar's hand at Wrestlestorm, you peasants thought I was having a change in attitude? I will admit, Sugar was a true competitor and I love competition but just like all you Americans, he came up short just like that masked baffoon in there. Lance: I really did think you were changing for the better. Boy, was I fooled. Les: Yes you were. We represent the United Kingdom. Nothing else matters. We came here to prove UK's wrestling superiority and we have achieved that. Tony St. Clair defeated the great Rick Martel 7 months ago to win this title and Tony has more than proven why he is in fact simply the best! Good day Lance, and it will be a very happy new year for us indeed. Lance: (disgusted look) We'll be back. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, next week on our New Year's Eve special, Karachi Vice will defend the USWA tag titles against the Nightmares. Terry Funk defends the USWA World title against Carlos Colon. And Ron Fuller will wrestle my guest at this time Jerry The King Lawler. Huge pop as Lawler comes out. Lance: Great to have you back King. You heard Fuller earlier. Your thoughts? Lawler: It's really great to be back here on TV Lance. As you know, my only goal is to win back that USWA world title. Well, it appears Ron Fuller has the same goal. But let me tell you something Fuller. I'm nobody's stepping stone and if you think I am, well you're in for a rude awakening next week. I went through some down time after I lost the title at Wrestlestorm but I want all my fans to know, I'm back on track and I will get through Fuller next week and I will get the World title back and bring it home! Lance: Ok, there you have it. Fans, Merry Christmas and I'll see you on New Year's.
Blehschmidt
Never trust a Santa Claus at a wrestling show...... I like Jesse Barr being a little unhinged here in the USWA. Lance makes the perfect foil as the picture of a babyface. HA! I knew it.... Santa Mike George gets his revenge and costs Barr the match! Bruise Brothers/Devils Duo has the potential to be a long term, blood feud. I am very cool with that! Karachi Vice are getting a little too comfortable. I don't know if it will be The Nightmares, but I see that overconfidence costing them real soon. You've gotten a lot of guys over in a lot of gimmicks Spaldoni. But I just don't know about Tom Magee.... The Fabs are going to be huge in the USWA. Bodacious? I am oddly excited to know who comprises this team!! Sivi counters Flowers, and Dicky Slater takes care of Myers! I hope this reign for Slater last a good long while. Fuller on the Beauty Shop is the good stuff! Fuller vs Lawler should be a good old fashioned Southern brawl. Looking forward to that one. The Funker having a Christmas beer by the fire is truly heartwarming! I will be rooting for him all the way against Colon next week. Great showing by my boy The Texas Ranger, but the duo of St. Clair and Thornton is simply the best! This reign is outstanding, and when he finally does drop the strap, it is going to be big. Another big show next week and Jerry "The King" Lawler closing out the Christmas special gives all the USWA faithful a lovely Christmas gift. Great Show as Always Dude! You ended so many angles at WrestleStorm, but the new ones are slowly falling into place, and 1986 is looking to be another awesome year in the USWA. kevinmcfl
Fun Christmas show. When Santa came out with gifts in the begining, I had a feeling he was going to play a bigger role. I guess Jesse Barr has been naughty this year. Nice Double DQ between the Bruise Brothers and Devil's Duo. Many times I have talked about how great you are with the midcarders. Well, I think this is different. You have changed these teams from midcarders to Main-Eventers. You could put Cash and Snowman as top billing and draw a crowd. It seems like the Vin Man might have some competition with the young ladies as Tom Magee has arrived. Duke Myers may be the Master of Disaster but Slater is the man. Great TV match. Myers is good enough for the fans to sit on the edge of their seats thinking the title could change hands but it just adds to reputation of Slater. Nice booking. The King of Memphis vs the Stud of Tenn..... Sign me up! Funk vs Colon is awesome. If this was in Puerto Rico, it might be one we talk about for generations. Great job here. GeneJackson95
Great way to open the show with Lance Von Erich vs. Jesse Barr! Fun match with "Santa" Mike George getting some revenge and popping the crowd giving Lance Von Erich the win. The Devil's Duo manage to not go down to the Bruise Brothers and I'm excited to see these two teams tie up again real soon. Karachi Vice seem to be underestimating the Nightmares.....that could cost them! I like the Mega Man moniker for Tom Magee, it will be interesting to see if wrestling's most notorious underachiever can make it happen here in the USWA Will 1986 really be the year of the "Vin Man"? Just maybe....depends on if "Bodacious" lives up to the hype! Solid Mid America title defense against Duke Meyers for Slater....I've watched quite a few Duke Meyers' matches recently on Youtube, I hadn't seen a lot of him before so it's made ready about him here even more fun. What better way to reintroduce Ron Fuller to the USWA fans than here on the Beauty Shop with Ms. Brenda! Terry Funk is always a highlight for me each week....another fun promo building up to what should be a great title match against Carlos Colon on New Year's Eve! Super excited for Lawler vs. the Tennessee Stud next week.....it feels like the start of something big!
spaldoni
USWA @ The Ellis Auditorium 12-27-85 "Mega Man" Tom Magee vs. A Local Talent Magee wins it with a backbreaker rack submission The Technicians (Roop and Rheingans) vs. High Fly'n Fever (Gagne and Savoldi) Back and forth match that ends in a 10 minute draw. As the Technicians were leaving Gagne and Savoldi nailed them from behind with dropkicks, then ran out of there. Billy Jack Strong vs. "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly w/Vin Man The match ends when Vinnie gets on the apron. Kelly swings Strong towards him but Strong reverses it and swings Kelly into Vinnie. Kelly stumbles back, Strong grabs him and hits a bridging back suplex for the win! "The Polynesian Prince" Siva Afi vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers Flowers hurls Afi to the outside and follows. Flowers is going for a piledriver on the concrete but Afi back drops him. Afi hurls Flowers into the ring, then climbs to the top turnbuckles. Flowers staggers up and Afi nails him with a flying press 1..2..3! Powerage (Bassarab and Doring) vs. The Devil's Duo w/Goldie Rogers The fans are stunned when PAUL JONES leads the Duo to the ring. What is this all about? Jones grabs the house mic. "Number 1 Paul Jones has arrived and I have purchased the contracts of the Devil's Duo. These guys are worth every penny and (points his cane at Powerage) you two punks are going to feel their wrath! Duo attacks before the bell and control the early segment. Powerage comes back and takes it to them. Chaos ensues as all 4 men are fighting. Bassarab swings off the ropes but Jones nails him with a cane shot to the back. Vines clotheslines Bassarab and gets the pin! Carlos Colon vs. TNT w/Curtis Iaukea Another wild one. TNT impresses with his martial arts skills but can't put Colon away. Iaukea tries to get involved but Colon grabs both him and TNT and knocks their heads together. Colon quickly goes to the top ropes. Mid-America Title Bout "Unpredictable" Dick Slater (C) vs. "Champagne" Gerry Morrow Before the match, Morrow unstraps his Billionaire's Title and compares it to Slater's title, then says scoffs and says something to Slater. The bell rings and Slater blasts Morrow with several punches to get things going. Slater's brawling has Morrow bumping all over the ring. Morrow comes back and breaks all the rules but gets in some impressive moves such as a falling DDT and several suplex combinations. At the 15 minute mark, Slater is on fire. He smashes Morrow's head on the turnbuckles several times then grabs him and executes a swinging neckbreaker. Slater covers but wait! Morrow rolls out of the ring, looks down at Slater, smiles and nods at what he sees. More boos as Morrow gets his Billionaire's title and raises it high. Even more boos when Morrow opens his bottle of champagne, pours himself a drink, then looks down at Slater and toasts him. Den Scorpio
Oh man... Santa Mike! ...and "banana eating savage"! Now THAT'S good TV! Terry Funk is already a masterful heel Champion in this game. I had that feeling he would be, but man you haven't disappointed. Great character capture. Can't wait to see what happens next. kevinmcfl
Great how each show is so balanced. The fans would enjoy the first few matches but then when Dream Machine attacked Slater, they would be up and screaming all the way until Lawler put down Gama. Lance: Fans, as you know, the Nightmares won a huge tag team battle royal to earn a USWA tag title shot against Karachi Vice. That match happens right now. I think the Nightmares had the champs running scared. What a shame. We'll be back. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, here comes the Dream Machine. Thundering boos. Dream: Yea, yea keep booing. I don't care. I hate all of you and I hope you all have a miserable new year. That goes for you to Dicky Boy! Come on Lance, did you think I was just going to walk away after Wrestlestorm? Dicky Boy is holding my title and I'm going to get it back this weekend at the Cook Convention Center Baybay! I left you lying in a pool of your own blood Dicky Boy and that's just a sample of what I'm going to do to you this weekend boy! You hear me Dicky Boy, you're nothing but... WHAM! Dick Slater (bandaged forehead) tackles Dream Machine! Lance gets out of there as Slater's punches pound away on Dream's head. Prelim wrestlers run out to get Slater off as a commercial hits. Commercial Break A video shows highlights of a huge man taking out opponents. Big Man Steel is coming to the USWA! The Technicians vs. Frank Stevens and Arnold Goldstein Roop hits a shoulder breaker on Stevens then tags in Rheingans. Roop has Stevens in an arm bar while Rheingans comes off the top rope with a knee to the shoulder for the win. Technicians head to the podium. Lance: Great win guys. It seems High Fly'n Fever has gotten under your skin lately. Roop: Well, all summer long we outwrestled the Elite all over the area and it looks like poor little Greg is still bitter. Rheingans: Greg might have found himself a new partner but the results will still be the same. Boos as High Fly'n Fever (Gagne and Savoldi) come out Lance: Just hold on. We already had an altercation out here and I don't want another one. Greg: Who do you think you're talking to Lance? We're gentlemen and we shall act accordingly. I just want these two wannabe wrestlers to know what they're dealing with. I assure you, High Fly'n Fever is levels ahead of the Elite and we're levels above the Technicians. We're a legit tag team. Savoldi: Exactly right Greg. Roop: You know kid, you disappoint me. Why are you listening to Gagne? Savoldi: Because he's a winner, he's my hero and he knows what he's talking about and you two are going to find that out real quick. Rheingans: How about right now? Officials come out and get between the teams to prevent another altercation. Lance: Things are tense tonight. We'll be right back. Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the pink neon sign then pans down to Brenda Britton. Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to another edition of the most watched wrestling segment in 1985 and the same will go in 1986. I'm referring of course to the Beauty Shop. Now tonight I really really really wanted to have a new year's toast with Gerry Morrow but unfortunately Mr. Morrow has a match to prepare for, but he did promise me a toast later on. I can't wait for that. In the meantime, I had to find somebody. This man doesn't have the charisma or skill or charm of Gerry Morrow but never the less the show must go on. Please welcome out Bulldog Mike George. Britton: (deep sigh) I'll make the best of this. First off you pulled quite a stunt last week, dressing up as Santa Claus and attacking Jessie Barr. You're a real class act. And now I've been told that in 2 weeks, you will get your TV title match with Tony St. Clair. Oh yea that seems fair. Jeez, who's running things here? Well I think you don't stand a chance against Tony because he's simply the best. And I hope Jessie Barr gets some much deserved payback on you. Do you have anything to say? Make it quick. George: Thank you Brenda, I feel so welcomed. First off, Barr attacked me weeks prior and took me out of my TV title match. He made the naughty list and I gave him a nice gift. I will be more than happy to get in the ring with him but first I have the chance of a lifetime. I'm going for the TV title and I'm more than ready. I've worked hard to get to this point and I want St. Clair and Thornton to know I'm coming to win that title. Britton: Oh golly gee I know I'm excited. That was sarcasm in case you didn't know. George: You know Brenda, I know you missed out on a toast and I felt bad about that so I brought my own bottle of champagne. What do you say? Britton: Well, I didn't think you had the class. Why not? George points the bottle at Brenda and pops the cork. Champagne sprays all over Brenda as the crowd cheers. George: Oh golly gee, I'm sorry Brenda. Maybe we can try again next year. Britton (flustered and screaming) We're done! Toooodles! Brenda storms out of there as the fans keep cheering. Commercial Break Lance (still laughing) What a way to close out the year on the Beauty Shop (more laughing) Gerry Morrow arrives to the podium with a bottle of champagne. Morrow: Why do you laugh? Not only was that a tasteless act but that idiot wasted a bottle of champagne. Although it was probably a very cheap bottle. Now Lance, I'm going to set dis here bottle down and when I come back, you will have a new year's toast with me! "Champagne" Gerry Morrow vs. Masked Man G The bell rings but Morrow waves his masked opponent back. Morrow takes off his Billionaire's title and flaunts it to the booing fans. Morrow goes to the ropes and yells to Lance "This wont take long so get out the glasses" The fans are up and cheering as Masked G dropkicks Morrow from behind! The title fly's out of Morrow's hands as Morrow bounces off the ropes. Masked G rolls Morrow up 1..2..3! Huge pop! Masked G gets up and takes his mask off. Lance: Oh my goodness it's George Wells! The fans are up and cheering as Wells pumps his fists. An irate Morrow gets up but Wells dropkicks him out of the ring. Morrow staggers around, gets his title and runs out of there. Lance: George! Get over here! Welcome back! Wells: Lance! How are you? Let's go back in time to July. Me and Gerry were partners and we had a title match with Karachi Vice but Morrow no showed and left me to fend for myself. When I heard why he no showed I couldn't wait to get my hands on him. Morrow! Brother, we have unfinished business and I'm here to finish it! Lance: Before you go, why don't you celebrate new year's with this bottle of champagne. I hear it's pretty good. The fans cheer as Lance hands him the bottle. Wells raises it high. Lance (laughing) What a great night. Huge match when we come back. Commercial Break Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. "The Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller Big match feel as two of the best are set to square off. The bell rings and these two have a stare down and exchange some heated words. The first few minutes is back and forth with neither man able to stay in control long. During a break, Fuller sucker punches Lawler and goes to work. Fuller punches away then slams Lawler. Fuller starts working the leg. He drops several elbows and knees on Lawler's leg. Fuller clamps on the figure four. The fans are cheering Lawler on. Lawler reaches and grabs the ropes. A frustrated Fuller releases the hold then grabs the top rope and drops several knees on Lawler's leg. Fuller picks up Lawler and goes for a suplex but Lawler blocks it and suplexes Fuller. Lawler's in pain as he grabs his leg. Lawler uses the ropes to pull himself up and limps around. Fuller staggers up and Lawler puts him down with a big right punch. Lawler continues to limp around. The fans cheer as Lawler starts to pump his fists. Fuller gets up and Lawler punches away, swings him to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Lawler follows with an elbow drop 1..2..Kick Out. Lawler picks up Fuller and swings him to the corner and follows with a running clothesline. Lawler hip tosses Fuller over. Lawler hops on the turnbuckles and punches down on Fuller as the fans count along. Lawler jumps down and swings Fuller to the opposite corner and charges (with a high knee) but Fuller moves and Lawler's knee hits hard. Fuller rolls him up with a hand full of tights 1..2..3!!!!! A hush falls over the crowd. Fuller rolls out of the ring and holds his arms up in victory. Lance: Unbelievable. Ron Fuller has just defeated Jerry Lawler. We'll be right back. Commercial Break Lance is standing with a clearly disappointed Jerry Lawler. Lance: Well King, you can't win them all. Great match. You ok? Lawler: No I'm not ok Lance. I feel I let my fans down at Wrestlestorm and I feel I let them down again tonight. I think the King needs some time to regroup and get things in order. My fans deserve better. Lawler walks away leaving a puzzled Lance. Commercial Break Lance: That was a very disappointed Jerry Lawler. I don't think I've ever seen the King in that frame of mind. Fans, I've been told that along with the Dick Slater, Dream Machine NO DQ Mid America title match at the Cook Convention Center this weekend, you will see the Technicians go up against High Fly'n Fever. Listen to this, Duke Myers and Timothy Flowers known as Hard Knocks will take on Siva Afi and a mystery partner. A lot of bad blood there. And just signed, Gerry Morrow will face George Wells. Also the Bruise Brothers will defend the Central States tag titles against my guests at this time the Devil's Duo and their new manager Paul Jones. Jones: That's enough out of you Lance! Number 1 Paul Jones is here and my number 1 team the Devil's Duo are going to get those Central States titles from those showboating clowns. I'm here to make my presence known and the Devil's Duo is going to help me do that. You know who else is going to help me do that? Lance: I'm afraid to ask. Jones: A man who fears nothing but I can tell you a lot of wrestlers fear him. I'm talking about the Spoiler! That's right! The Spoiler will be here with me, next week! Get ready USWA because the Paul Jones Army has arrived and we're taking no prisoners! Lance: A menacing group indeed. I know the Spoiler is a very intimidating man. Fans, our world title bout when we come back. Commercial Break USWA World Title Bout Terry Funk (C) vs. Carlos Colon The fans give Colon a rousing ovation as he gets in the ring, does a cartwheel and pumps his fists. Cheers turn to thundering boos as Funk heads down the aisle yelling at the fans and threatening them. He gets in the ring, takes his cowboy hat off and swings at Colon. The Ref gets between them. Funk takes his title off and threatens Colon. The Ref grabs the title and holds it up. The bell rings and Funk charges at Colon but Colon fires away. Funk takes a wild swing but Colon ducks, hoists Funk up and atomic drops him. Funk is standing cross-legged and Colon clotheslines him down. Colon hops on the middle ropes and comes down with a forearm drop 1..2..Kick Out. Colon picks Funk up, swings him to the ropes and back drops him. Funk staggers up and Colon drops him with a flying forearm blast. Funk goes through the ropes. On the outside, Funk staggers up and falls back down. The Ref starts counting. Wait a minute! TNT hits the ring but Colon sees him and punches him to the ropes, then sends him over the top with a clothesline! Curtis Iaukea comes out and gets on the apron. The Ref sees this and starts yelling at him. Iaukea continues to argue. All of a sudden KAMALA runs in and nails Colon from behind!! Colon falls down and Kamala follows with a big body splash! Kamala gets out of the ring. Terry Funk gets in the ring as the Ref turns around. Funk picks up Colon and piledrives him down 1..2..3! BOOOOO! Funk rolls out of the ring, grabs his title and holds it up while walking backwards up the aisle. Iaukea, TNT and Kamala get back in the ring. TNT picks up Colon and puts him down with a spin kick! Iaukea is yelling at Kamala and pointing down at Colon. Lance: This is sickening, we need some help out here. Kamala swings off the ropes and hits another big splash! Kamala gets up, swings off the ropes and hits another splash! The fans cheer as BILLY JACK STRONG hits the ring, swinging a chair! Kamala and Iaukea get out of there but TNT takes a shot to the back that sends him through the ropes. Billy Jack stands over Colon as Iaukea goes to the podium. Iaukea: I told you the monster was coming and he has arrived! Kamala is here to destroy Carlos Colon and there's nothing that will stop him! NOTHING! Your demise is coming Colon! And to anybody else who wants to try and help you. Kamala walks around slapping his stomach as the show ends.
Blehschmidt
Announcing Slater/Dream Machine in a No DQ match is a great way to start the show! Billy Jack Strong is certainly off to a dominant start here. I am very excited for the DVE Memorial Tournament. It's going to one hell of an undertaking, but it should be awesome! I really enjoy this version of Rip Morgan. I hope to see his role get bigger sooner than later. Karachi Vice with another cheap victory! These two are doing anything to keep those belts at this point. Whoever takes the belts off of them are going to be over huge! Dream Machine tries to run his mouth, but Slater ain't having it! That'll sell some tickets! Technicians vs Gagne/Savoldi is something of a styles clash, but could certainly make for a fun feud. You've certainly made Gagne far more entertaining here than he was at any point in his entire career. Great Beauty Shop! Brenda being a total bitch, while George plays along before hosing her down with champagne is a great finish to the year for the segment. Will definitely get George more over, but I don't think he is the guy to take out Simply the Best either! George Wells! That is quite the return for revenge right there!! Morrow is run out of the arena, and Wells gets his bottle on top of it! This is going to be a fun feud!! Ron Fuller gets the win over Lawler!! Then Lawler leaves dejected!! Wow! Not sure what is about to happen here, but I am excited to see it! #1 Paul Jones has taken over managing The Devil's Duo and he is bringing The Spoiler with him! The Bruise Brothers might be in a lot of trouble. Great pairings for Jones. When Iaukea called for a monster, they don't come much better than Kamala!! I love seeing Colon get destroyed, so this segment was right up my alley! Then The Funker gives him a piledriver and pins him! 5 Stars!! It looks like Colon and Strong are going to have quite a war on their hands with Iaukea's Army. Should make for some fun brawls! as for Uncle Terry...well, whoever wins that battle royal is going to see him in Texas. It'll be interesting to see who that next challenger is! Great Stuff Dude! Kelly puts more pressure on the full nelson, then face plants Magee into the chair! Magee isn't moving. Boos as Vinnie raises Kelly's arm. Magee is stretchered out. Hard Knocks (Flowers and Meyers) vs. Siva Afi and a mystery partner Myers and Siva have been feuding for awhile and then Flowers got involved. Tonight Siva evens the odds as he walks down the aisle with COCOA SAMOA! The bell rings as Siva and Cocoa charge Hard Knocks. The fans go wild as they pound away on Hard Knocks. Myers and Flowers are way off their game tonight as they take a beating. Siva and Cocoa double headbutt Flowers out of the ring. Cocoa slams Myers and Siva follows with a superfly splash to get the pin! Flowers for some reason runs in and tries to attack Siva but Siva puts him down with a chop, then Cocoa follows with a diving headbutt from the top rope! Duo takes control and the fans think they might win the titles. They work Cash over hard. Vines executes a backbreaker and holds him while Sword comes down with a stomp to the mid section 1..2..Snowman breaks it! Jones is irate and yells up at the Ref. While Jones and the Duo are arguing with the Ref, Cash slowly crawls over and tags in Snowman. Before they leave, Jones grabs the house mic and says "We won that match and you clowns know it! You cheated! This isn't over! Mid America Title Bout NO DQ! "Unpredictable" Dick Slater (C) vs. Dream Machine As expected these guys start the match with fists flying! It's a hell of a brawl. They're all over the ring, all around the ring and even fight into the crowd. Slater is busted open and Dream is bleeding through his mask. Dream grabs a fan's soda and throws it in Slater's face. Dream gets a chair and blasts Slater on his back. Dream grabs Slater and rams his head into the steel post. Dream hurls Slater back in the ring. Dream yells "It's over Dicky Boy!" Dream swings off the ropes, does a shuffle and drops an elbow 1..2..Slater barley gets his shoulder up. Dream can't believe it. The fans are up and cheering. Dream hurls Slater out of the ring. kevinmcfl
Great end to 85 and a perfect start to 86. I'm really enjoying the whole USWA promotion between the three of you and the DVE Memorial Tag tourny will be epic. Rip Morgan is really making bug strides here. Can't wait to see what 86 holds for him. Master G is back.... great way to take down Mr. Money. I bet Morrow will be back for revenge. Fuller over Lawler! This could be huge both ways. Fuller could quickly rise to the top and Lawler could have to step back and re-evaluate things. FIrst Funk and now Fuller... The King needs to think things through. Paul Jones better be careful. The Snowman could crush him. Iaukea after Colon. This is going to be fun. Slater is so underrated. No matter what he does, he is awesome. Dream did a nice job here but Slater needed to go over here. GeneJackson95
The New Year's Eve special starts out STRONG with a big win for Billy Jack, that brainbuster is going to be tough to beat! Very excited about the tag team tournament! It should serve as a great showcase for all three promotions! Rip Morgan is consistently becoming one of the most dangerous men in the game! The Fabs arrive next week! I'm interested to see who they set their sights on or someone already has their sights set on them! The Nightmares are having a tough time lately....between the Moondogs back home and getting blasted by a foreign object in their big title shot......they are going to come to Texas with something to prove for the David Von Erich Memorial tag tournament. Dream Machine telling the crowd he hates them and hopes they have a miserable new year made legit laugh out loud....I love the Dream Machine! Dick Slater however....does NOT love the Dream Machine...he gets a little revenge here but he's looking for more when they step in the ring! Big Bubba Steelmaster is coming! I enjoyed his work in Memphis IRL during '86 with Downtown Bruno and Mighty Goliath so I'm looking forward to his run here in USWA! If Savoldi was able to say that Greg Gagne is his hero with a straight face he deserves an Academy Award...lol.....I do like this tag team though and the Technicians are the perfect team for them to feud with. A fun Beauty Shop segment with Mike George that was entertaining while managing to recap what's gone down with George and Jesse Barr. Great way to bring back George Wells with the mask and getting a quick disputable win over Morrow.....with the backstory these two I have I'm looking forward to seeing this play out. "The Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller returns by getting a win over "the King" on television! WOW! That's making an impact! I love it! I'm huge fan of Fuller and I can't wait to see where this leads! I'm happy to see Paul Jones turn up here in the USWA, I've have fun using him in this game in the past and I think he's a perfect fit with the Devil's Duo and the Spoiler will certainly fit right in as well!! WHAT A MAIN EVENT! Terry Funk retains the title over Carlos Colon in the midst of interference from TNT and KAMALA!! Billy Jack Strong comes to Colon's aid and this is going to be a wild feud I'm sure! NEW YEAR'S DAY! Nice to see the Technicians get the win over Gagne/Savoldi! Looks like Mr. Magnificent and the Vin Man have taken out Tom Magee Billy Jack Strong gets a count out win over TNT but I'm sure this is far from over Sivi Afi finds a very likely partner in Cocoa Samoa fresh off his brutal match with Estrada in Texas......poor Hard Knocks are having that Hard Knock Life Barr gets a little revenge with a handful of tights! Morrow sets things straight with Wells.....you don't cross the Champagne man!! The Devil's Duo are going to be determined to take those titles....Jones will not settle for defeat....the Bruise Brothers may need somebody in their corner soon Slater retains but you know the Dream Machine will still have something to say about it! Great way to end '85 and kick off '86! Awesome shows!!
