The obvious headline out of the TV was Dusty getting the package pinfall on Funk & the classic reaction I can vividly see Funk having as a result. But the nuance winner for me in the show was in the Beauty Shop, when the Bruise Brothers were clearly focused on taking care of business & discussing it, and she chimes in "He's a liar". LMAOOO. We're just one week away from the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament. Three nights of incredible action as thirty two tag teams from the USWA, Texas All-Star and the newly named Continental wrestling compete for 100.000 dollars and the David Von Erich Trophy. All that will be televised right here on the USA network. I'm especially excited about going to the Will Rogers Coliseum on night one. Also at the tournament you will see Dick Slater defend the Mid America title against Tully Blanchard. We'll hear from both men tonight. And of course Terry Funk will pull double duty as he will team with his brother Dory in the tournament and will also be defending the USWA World Title against the man set for action right now, the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Let's go to the ring. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. Trey Steinbach The fans are up and cheering as Dusty hoists Steinbach up and drops him with a delayed vertical suplex. Dusty swings off the ropes and hits a jumping elbow drop for the win! WHAM! Dusty's nailed from behind by Terry Funk! Terry picks up his branding iron. He swings Dusty to the ropes and tries to clothesline him with it but Dusty ducks, swings back and clotheslines Funk down! Dusty swings off the ropes and hits a jumping elbow drop on Funk! The fans go crazy when Dusty picks up Funk's branding iron and holds it up. Dusty pushes the iron down on Funk's chest and leaves a mark! Funk is screaming in pain and rolling around frantically. Dusty throws the branding iron. The fans cheer as Dusty does the title motion around his waist. Dusty heads to the podium. Dusty: Terry Funk! Did you forget who you was mess'n with? Last week you said this was war. Brother, we declared war on each other a long time ago. Many many battles and a lot of blood spilled but the war continues to rage on. I won tonight's battle but the war will be won next week when I put you out to pasture and take that USWA world title away. That will be an American Dream ending. I'll see ya in Texas Funk! Commercial Break Lance: Wow, Dusty Rhodes just sent a message to the world champ Terry Funk. Their saga continues at the David Von Erich Memorial tag team tournament. Tonight, you will see many teams tuning up for the tournament. You will also see Gerry Morrow take on George Wells in a grudge match. Tony St. Clair defends his TV title against Big Man Steel. So let's keep things moving and go to the ring. The Stud Stable (Rob Fuller and Jimmy Golden) vs. Gary Williams and Neil Greenwood Stud Stable toy with and humiliate their opponents before finishing them off with a spiked piledriver. Ron Fuller joins them at the podium. Rob: Well now, everybody is talking about this big high dollar tournament coming up. Yes indeed. And everybody also knows that myself and cousin Jimmy are going to win that grand cash prize. Jimmy: That's right! And we heard those Fabulous Nones shooting off their mouths and saying they hope we cross paths in the tournament. Those boys love getting a good beating don't they. (laughs) Ron: I told you, the Stud Stable is running things around here. Rob and Jimmy are walking away with the trophy. Now, Dusty Rhodes is prancing around like he's king of the mountain. Dusty, don't get to comfortable because like I said, you and I have unfinished business boy. Commercial Break Carlos Colon vs. Peter Crowell Colon is on fire tonight and wins the match with a flying clothesline from the top rope! Colon heads to the podium. Lance: Carlos, tomorrow night at the Rupp Arena, it's you and Kamala one on one. Last week at the Roanne Fieldhouse, Iaukea, Lewin and Kamala attacked their own man TNT and did a number on him. This is one evil group. Are you mentally and physically prepared for Kamala? Colon: Iaukea and his goons have been on a path of destruction. Kamala has hurt me very badly but here I am, standing and ready to fight. Kamala! I bring the fight to you tomorrow night! Commercial Break The Devil's Duo w/Paul Jones vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez Paul Jones is very vocal tonight and makes sure the Duo is focused. Vines executes a backbreaker on Dutro and holds him while Sword comes off the top rope with a stomp to the chest for the win. They head to the podium. Super Destroyer joins them. Jones: (looks at the Duo) I want you two to look at this man (looks at Super Destroyer) This man has a killer instinct and is going to put the Spoiler out of wrestling. I want the two of you to get your killer instinct back. You failed against those clowns the Bruise Brothers and last week you two bungled an opportunity for a TV title match. I will not be embarrassed at the DVE tag team tournament! You boys better only have winning the whole damn thing on your mind. Got it! Jones and Super Destroyer storm off. Vines and Sword look pissed then walk off. Commercial Break "Champagne" Gerry Morrow vs. George Wells The fans boo as Morrow flaunts his Billionaire's title. Huge pop as Wells runs to the ring. He slides in but Morrow blasts him with his title! Morrow heads to the outside, grabs a bottle of cheap Thunderbird, then goes back in the ring. Morrow pours the bottle all over Wells. Morrow laughs and heads to the podium. Lance: Ok, alright, that was just despicable. Morrow: Oh I know why you're upset. You thought I wasted de good champagne on him. HAHAHA don't worry Lance, George is not worth de good stuff. I used the cheapest on him. Enough about George. De big news is I have a true partner and friend I can count on. Of course I'm referring to none other than Mr. Money Carl Fergie. Together we will win de tournament and we will become even richer together. If dat is even possible HAHAHA. Lance, you really should think about investing in our team. Good day. Commercial Break The South Pacific Connection (Siva and Cocoa) vs. Trent Watkins and Carl Kellerman Siva and Cocoa double back drop Watkins. Kellerman runs in and gets a double chop. Siva and Cocoa hop up on opposite turnbuckles and crash down with diving headbutts to get the win. Lance: Fantastic win for the South Pacific Connection as they head into the tournament with some steam. Boos as Greg Gagne comes out. Gagne: Oh yea everybody is happy and pumped up about this tournament. Well I'm not! Last week, those fools the Bruise Brothers beat up my partner Joe so bad he had to be stretchered out of the arena. Not only that but some fat slob fan poured a beer on my head! Joe's a tough kid and he will be at the tournament. But we're not going to take this abuse anymore! I'm serving notice to every team out there. High Fly'n Fever is coming after all of you! Lance: Ok, a very threatening Greg Gagne. We'll be back. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, I have some great news. Curt Hennig is coming back to the USWA. Let's take a special look at Curt Hennig. "The Heat is on" by Glen Frey plays The video shows Curt Hennig swimming in the ocean, running on the beach, playing golf, driving a convertible and working out at the gym. "Curt Hennig is on his way" Lance: We certainly look forward to Curt Hennig's arrival. Let's go back to the ring. "The Real Thing" Rip Morgan vs. Arnie Goldstein Rip just tears his opponent up before finishing him off with a big boot to the head! Rip stomps and huffs around the ring. Commercial Break Lance: We're set for our next match but Rip Morgan is still stomping around the ring. Rip finally exits the ring. The participant for the next match comes out and it's Nord the Barbarian. Rip stomps and huffs then sees Nord stomping and huffing. Both men start stomping and huffing around each other. They start yelling at each other. Officials come out to escort Rip back. Rip finally leaves but continues yelling at Nord. Nord gets in the ring for his match. Nord the Barbarian vs. Todd Rooney Nord is very aggressive and finishes things off quick with a devastating clothesline! Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the 'Beauty Shop' sign then pans down to Brenda Britton Britton: I'm not happy and I have a lot to say. Just listen to this. So, a couple days ago I got this special package in the mail. It was so beautifully wrapped with heart decorations on it. I opened it and it was a tape that said 'watch me'. Needless to say I was excited. I watched it and it was that no good Alvin on his third rate show. You know what he said? He referred to me...(deep breath) he referred to me as a rat!!! A rat! (Fans laugh) Hey! That's not funny! I was so mad. I was in tears. Oh I was so upset. Well I'm not upset anymore because I have a plan. I'll get to that in a minute. Right now I want to bring out tonight's guest, Lance Von Erich. Cheers as Lance comes out. Britton: (smiles and slides her finger down his arm) Hi Lance, oh my you sure have big muscles. Lance: (smiles) Thank you Ms. Britton. Britton: (seductive smile) Oh please, call me Brenda. Now you heard what that Latin Loser Alvin called me right? Lance: Yes, I did. Britton: Well I was thinking. I need a knight in shinning armor to defend me. I need somebody to go down to Texas next weekend and put that Alvin in his place. Well, who better than a Von Erich. The Von Erich's are Texas toughest and a Von Erich should be at the big tournament. You're a true Von Erich right? Lance: Well... Britton: Wait a minute...Lance...Lancelot! Yes! You're my Lancelot! (starts stroking his hair) What do you say Lancelot? Will you defend my honor? Lance: (Smiles) Well I guess it wouldn't hurt if I went down and had a word with him. Brenda gives Lance a huge hug. She finally lets go. Britton: You're my hero Lancelot! Thank you, thank you so much! (looks at the camera) You're in big trouble now Alvin! I'll be back on the Beauty Shop in two weeks and guess what? My guess will be Lancelot, my hero. Until then tooooodles. Brenda gives Lance another hug and kisses him several times on the cheek as the segment ends. Commercial Break Kamala w/Curtis Iaukea vs. Ray Glader Kamala puts Glader down with a thrust shot, picks him up and slams him down. Kamala swings off the ropes and finishes things off with a body splash. As Iaukea leads Kamala to the podium, footage is shown of Kamala, Lewin and Iaukea brutally attacking TNT. Lance: I can't believe you would do that to one of your loyal men. Kamala is walking around slapping his belly while Mark Lewin joins them. Iaukea: TNT was a weak child! You know what you with a weak link? You cut it off! Soon there will be another man joining us. This man is a true assassin. This man is pure evil and this man will join our quest to destroy all who stand in our way. That means you Rocky Johnson! You Billy Jack Strong and most of all you Carlos Colon! You will feel the wrath of Kamala tomorrow night! Be prepared! Commercial Break Bodacious (Sommers and Donovan) w/The Vin Man vs. Sam Smith and William Hillman Vinnie is all smiles as Bodacious wins the match with a double hot shot on the top rope. On the way out, Vinnie looks in the camera and says "You're looking at the tournament winners, no doubt about it...yea!" Lance: Bodacious gets the win and look very confident as they head into the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team tournament. Fans, that all starts next Friday Night as this show will kick things off at the Will Rogers Coliseum. I... George Wells storms out with a bandaged up head. George: Lance, I'm getting real tired of wearing bandages on my head! Morrow! Tomorrow night at the Rupp Arena, it's gonna be me and you in a ghetto street fight! You're not the only one who can get down. Get ready cuz I'm gonna put a thump'n on your head! Lance: Ok, Wells and Morrow in a ghetto street fight tomorrow night at the Rupp Arena. I would hate to be Gerry Morrow right now. Commercial Break Lance: I'm here with the Mid America Champ Dick Slater. Dick, you'll be defending that title against Tully Blanchard at the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament. Slater: Lance, I'm a fighter and I'm a fighting champion. I'll be damned if I'm going to let Tully waltz in here and take this here title. That aint going to happen and if.... Boos as Tully and Baby Doll stroll out. Lance: Wait a minute, just hold on, I don't want any trouble out here. Tully: Relax, we're both civilized men. (looks at Slater and smirks) well at least I am. Just.... Slater decks Tully! Baby Doll screams at Slater while comforting Tully. Slater: (looking down at Tully) Boy, you talk to much. Lance: (Smiling) We'll be right back Commercial Break The Elvis version of Also Sprach Zarathustra plays A man with his back turned is wearing a king's crown and cape. "The real King of professional wrestling will appear on February 19th" Lance: Well it appears the self proclaimed King of wrestling will grace us with an appearance in 2 weeks. Fans, I can tell you Tully Blanchard was in an uproar. I'm not so sure he should of messed with Dick Slater. That match will take place next weekend along with Terry Funk defending the USWA world title against Dusty Rhodes. We all saw earlier as Dusty branded Terry with his own branding iron. Their match next weekend will be like they say, a war. All that, plus 32 teams vying for 100.000 dollars and the David Von Erich trophy. 3 nights of incredible action, all here on the USA network. It will be a historic event, one that I'm excited to be a part of. I've spoken to Marc Lowrance in Texas as well as Charlie Platt in Continental and they share the same excitement. Fans, our TV title main event when we come back. Commercial Break TV Title Bout Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair (C) w/Les Thornton vs. Big Man Steel Last week Steel defeated Jeff Sword in the newly announced TV title contender's match to earn tonight's shot. Steel patiently waits as Thornton waves the UK flag in front of him. Tony smiles at Steel as he unstraps the title and holds it up in front of him. The bell rings but Thornton is still waving the flag and insulting Steel. Steel grabs Thornton by his throat, lifts him up and choke slams him down! Tony charges but Steel mows him over with a shoulder block. Thornton slowly rolls out of the ring and falls to the outside. It's all Steel as he works over Tony with power moves. Steel swings Tony to the corner and follows with a running clothesline that takes Tony off his feet. Steel swings him to the opposite corner and hits another running clothesline. Tony staggers forward and drops face first to the canvas. Steel picks up Tony and slams him down then follows with a big elbow drop 1..2..Les pulls Tony's foot under the rope and screams at the Ref. The Ref sees it and tells Steel. Steel gets up and goes to the ropes to give Les a warning. Tony staggers up but Steel turns around and scoop slams him down. Steel picks up Tony and swings him to the corner and charges in with an avalanche but Tony just collapses and Steel hits the turnbuckles hard. Tony rolls out of the ring to regroup. Les goes over to help. The Ref starts the count. Steel rolls out of the ring. Les runs away. Les gets on the apron and starts yelling at the Ref and pointing at Steel. The Ref goes over and starts arguing with Les. Boos as Kevin Kelly runs out, grabs Steel and rams him into the steel post! Kelly runs to the back. Les hops down. Tony picks up Steel and rolls him back in the ring. Tony swings off the ropes and finishes up with a showboating senton 1..2..3! Boooooos as Tony holds his TV title high while Les waves the UK flag behind him. Lance: What a shame. Big Man Steel was on the verge of winning the TV title until Kevin Kelly showed up and ruined everything. Steel comes over obviously still feeling the affects. Steel: Kelly! This place isn't big enough for both of us. Tomorrow night, Rupp arena, if you've got the guts. You and me, loser leaves town! This all ends, got it! Lance: Well I think I would have to agree. The Rupp Arena is shaping up to be a big night of USWA action. Well fans, I'll see you next week from the Will Rogers Coliseum as we kick off the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament. Great promo, I totally read it in Dusty's voice. Very much looking forward to this match. Stud Stable are a great fit here in the USWA. If they expand their ranks they are gong to be a force to be reckoned with. They should be strong contenders in the tournament as well. Uh oh. Dissension in the ranks of Paul Jones Army. Super D making the Devil's Duo look bad. Vines and Sword had better step it up!! Oh Damn, Morrow just disrespected George Wells with some Thunderbird. Probably should have used some Colt 45, it does it every time. I am so looking forward to Morrow and Fergie in the tournament. I like the duo of Cocoa and Sivi a lot. I hope they can move up the card a bit and get a feud going soon. Greg Gagne is mad. Meh Curt Hennig should make a big impact here! Very excited to see what you do with him!! YESSSS!!! Whether it's a Nord and Rip team, or a Nord and Rip feud. I LIKE IT!!! Ha! Ha Ha! Oh Yes..... send Lancelot to the Fiesta Garden. Kamala squashes another one, and now Iaukea is talking about another! "A True Assassin" Yikes, if the guys he already has aren't that, Rocky, Colon and whoever else should probably be real worried!! When Bodacious was first announced, I really wanted to hate them. But this whole stable has totally won me over. Fantastic stuff. Oh Damn, a Ghetto Street Fight between Wells and Morrow? That should be a ton of fun!! Slater knocking Tully on his ass after the civilized man comment was awesome! These two are going to be awesome together! I can't wait to see the "Real" King Steel almost ends the Reign of St. Clair, but Kevin Kelly saves the day!! Now we have ourselves a Loser Leaves Town Match!! Good Times!! Great Show! Tonight, the winners of this match will go on to compete in the Karachi Vice Invitational next weekend in Texas" Karachi Vice destroys their opponents as Mahkan hits a body splash to the back and Gama follows with the camel clutch. Boos as Karachi Vice hold up their titles and hug. The fans can hear them say "We earned this, we really did" "Bulldog" Mike George vs. "The Lone Wolf" Jesse Barr These two continue their feud in another hard hitting encounter. George wins the match with a quick cradle. Afterwards, Barr has another meltdown as he flips over chairs and takes swings at the fans. Loser Leaves Town Match Big Man Steel vs. "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly w/The Vin Man Steel takes total control, slams and throws Kelly from one side of the ring to the other. Steel swings Kelly to the ropes and hits the bearhug slam! Vinnie hops on the apron and yells at Steel. Steel runs over and accidently knocks the Ref over. Steel sends Vinnie flying with a forearm blast. As Steel goes back to Kelly, Bodacious hits the ring in street clothes. They pound away on Steel, pick him up and double hot shot him on the top rope. They set Kelly on top of him and exit. The Ref crawls over and counts 1..2..3! Booooo! Big Man Steel must leave town. The Fabulous Ones vs. Greg Gagne and Duke Myers (sub for Joe Savoldi) Gagne and Myers get in some offense but the Fabs are on fire tonight. They double dropkick Gagne out of the ring. Lane hits Myers with superkick that sends him into a back suplex by Keirn for the win! On the way out, Gagne gets hit by a hot dog while arguing with the fans. Billy Jack Strong vs. "Maniac" Mark Lewin w/Curtis Iaukea Just a brawl as they battle to a double c.o. and keep on fighting up the aisle. Ghetto Street Fight! "Champagne" Gerry Morrow vs. George Wells Wells is in jeans and a football jersey while Morrow is wearing a suit. Wells is all over Morrow! Morrow is a bumping fool as Wells takes it to him. Wells dropkicks Morrow out of the ring. Wells goes out, rips Morrow's shirt off him and chokes him with it. Wells picks up Morrow and swings him into the steel post. Wells grabs a chair. Morrow is on his knees and Wells cracks him on the back with the chair. Wells goes to the timekeeper's table, grabs a can of beer, shakes it and sprays it in Morrow's face. From out of nowhere CARL FERGIE comes from behind and shatters a bottle of champagne over Wells head! Fergie lays Morrow's arm across Wells. The Ref has no choice but to count 1..2..3! Fergie apparently had set another bottle of champagne on the timekeeper's table. He opens it and feeds some to Morrow to revive him. Morrow staggers up. Him and Fergie exchange the bottle and take swigs. Morrow points down at Wells and smiles. Morrow picks up Wells and hits a falling DDT on the concrete while Fergie laughs. To the horror of the fans, Morrow picks up Wells again and hits another floating DDT on the concrete! Officials and Medics run out to attend to Wells. As Wells is stretchered out, Morrow and Fergie hold up the champagne bottle and gesture a toast as the fans are in complete shock. Carlos Colon vs. Kamala w/Curtis Iaukea The rulebook is pretty much thrown out as these guys tear into each other. Iaukea tries to get involved but Colon takes care of him. Kamala takes advantage of the distraction and works over Colon with thrusts, chops, choking, kicks and slams. Kamala tries to finish Colon off with a splash but Colon moves! Colon makes a fiery comeback and has Kamala reeling. Mark Lewin runs down to the ring but Billy Jack Strong is on him as they brawl around the ring. Kamala is wobbling as Colon body slams him. Colon goes to the top rope but Iaukea gets on the apron and pushes Colon off. The Ref calls for the DQ. Strong and Lewin continue to brawl around the ring. Iaukea gets in the ring and stomps on Colon. Kamala gets up and joins in. They pick Colon up but Colon puts Iaukea down with a headbutt. Colon and Kamala have a heated exchange. Wrestlers and officials run in to break it up. Chaos! "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and Mid America Champ "Unpredictable" Dick Slater vs. USWA World Champ Terry Funk and Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll Funk is pissed after getting marked with his own branding iron by Dusty on TV yesterday. Tully is pissed from getting clocked by Slater yesterday. Tempers are already flaring. The Ref shows a lot of leniency at the start and just lets these guys fight. The fight is all over the place and the fans are loving every minute. Eventually we get something resembling a match. The match goes over 30 minutes with a lot of pier six brawls in between. Each man is on their A game and gets his chance to shine. Baby Doll even got a slap in on Slater. At around the 35 minute mark everybody is in the ring fighting. Funk is against the ropes. Dusty charges with a clothesline that sends them both over the top. The Ref is looking out at them. Baby Doll gets on the apron with her shoe in hand. Tully holds Slater and walks him over. Baby Doll swings but Slater ducks and she nails Tully! Tully goes down and Slater follows with an elbow drop, the Ref turns around and jumps down 1..2..3! Big POP! Golden and Fuller destroying the competition in TN seems perfect to me. Colon-Iaukea feud... perfect for the fans of the violent. Could joins be in the market for another team? Devils Duo better step up. The build up by the three of you for the DVE tourny has been great. Every team seems to think the can win. Can't wait to read about it. Tully better be careful... Slater is one tough SOB Who is the King... can't wait to see. Between you with the King and Texas with Luscious... very good and keeping the audience on their toes. Big Man was robbed! AND ON TO RUPP ARENA.... And things went from bad to worse for Big Man Steel The Fan Ones are on the rise! Like how the card appeals to all the different types of fans. Strong vs Lewin and Carlos vs Kamala are great midcard brawls. WHAT A MAIN EVENT. Wonder who will come out on top when they meet in singles competition. We're off with a bang this week with 'the American Dream' in action...then all of a sudden Terry Funk shows up seeking revenge for last week's loss but ends up getting humiliated even worse by getting branded with his own branding iron!! It looks like so far Dusty has really got the Funker's number....that USWA World title might be in jeopardy....especially with Terry splitting his attention between a MAJOR title defense and going for the money in the tag team tournament....Funk could come out a BIG winner....or he might come out a BIG loser....doing double duty may prove to be a huge mistake. The Stud Stable have wasted no time establishing themselves here in the USWA and you have to think with their experience teaming together that Fuller and Golden have a good chance of taking home the cash next weekend....especially if the Tennessee Stud is anywhere in the arena! Paul Jones is pissed! It will be interesting to see if his method of "firing up" the Devil's Duo proves to be effective in the tournament next weekend. Aw man....Gerry gives George Wells a 'Thunderbird bath'....that has to be humiliating to say the least....he may have just managed to motivate Wells for revenge even more than before. OH BOY! LOL, but seriously...it's been fun seeing a heel Greg Gagne here in the USWA the past few months, let's see if he can back up this tough talk! Curt Hennig is going to be a great addition to the USWA roster....can't wait to see what you have in store for him! I agree that Nord/Rip will be fun either way as friends or foes...or perhaps as crazy these guys are.....a mixture of both! The war of words between Ms. Brenda and "Alvin" continues and it was funny watching Britton try to seduce Lance Von Erich into doing her bidding but it appears she was successful and now The Fabulous Lance is going to confront Alvin Madril...which should be incredible. King Curtis and Kamala are fired up and that can't be good for Carlos Colon and friends (which needs to be a cartoon if USWA ever goes the Rock 'N' Wrestling route) Bodacious and the Vin Man is such a fun team! I'm really enjoying their antics each week. Uh oh....Champagne Gerry isn't exactly the kinda guy who is going to want to be in a 'Ghetto Street Fight' this is going to be interesting. Damn....Slater knocks Tully on his ass.....Blanchard and Baby Doll are not going to take getting humilitated on tv lightly! YES....we at least know when to expect to find out who this new King is!! But when the hell is LUSCIOUS going to be revealed?!?! Kevin Kelly, you son of a bitch! You cost us the TV title run we all wanted and needed from Big Man Steel!! Great TV leading into the tournament next week! Onward to Rupp Arena! Karachi Vice continue to get heat leading into next weekend! Oh my God...if it comes down to Karachi Vice or The Richs, the fans may burn the place down! Barr comes out on the short end again and can't handle it....he may just snap soon and end George's career! WOW...I did not see that coming....thanks to Mr Magnificent and Bodacious, Big Man Steel is outta here! The Fabs get the win and poor Gagne gets assaulted with concessions once again! Just when I thought I couldn't love Champagne Gerry anymore.....he shows up to a Ghetto Streetfight....IN A SUIT! Tremendous!! Just when it looks like Wells can't be stopped....Morrow's new pal Carl Fergie returns the favor from the Gulf Coast Clash and shatters a champagne bottle over Wells' head who is now a victim of his own stipulation! Priceless! (which really should be the name of their team) Things continue to heat up between Carlos & Friends against Kamala/Lewin/King Curtis....this will eventually end up in some sort of cage situation it feels like That my friend is a killer main event! If I'm anywhere in driving distance of Rupp Arena, there's no way I'm not buying a ticket and hitting the road to see those four go at, especially with the great build up on television so far! Jesse Barr may want to rethink this feud with Mike George since he keeps losing! Kelly and the Family Vin puts the screw to Big Man Steel and he is out the door and Texas Bound. I really enjoy the Vin/Kelly/Bodacious group. Definitely a sign of how good you are building midcarders into enjoyable characters. Fabulous Ones take out a couple of jobbers. My favorite part was when that fan threw Gagne's pay for the night at him! The Colon Bunch and Iaukea's Army are headed for a huge cage clusterfuck, and I am excited for it. Poor George Wells. If this guy takes too many more bottles upside the head, he is going to be Eugene Wells. Morrow and Fergie are going to be so much fun in the tournament. I love this pairing. Good God, that main event would sell out a building in about ten seconds. 40 minutes of those 4 would have this on Best of tapes for years to come!! Highlights end with the team of Black Bart and Ron Bass holding up the trophy and 100,000 dollar check. Lance: Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling right here on the USA network. You all saw the highlights, the historic David Von Erich tag team tournament is now in the books. It was an event of epic proportions and I was very proud to have been a part of it. Congratulations to the team of Black Bart and Ron Bass. They had a tremendous showing and defeated a lot of top ranked teams to win it all. They defiantly earned every dollar. Unfortunately there is some bad news to report. Not only did Tully Blanchard hit Dick Slater several times with a chair after their match but he attacked Slater in the back while seeking medical treatment. Cameras were able to get some footage towards the end of that vicious attack. Let's take a look. Slater is on the ground as medics are trying to back Tully away. Tully pushes them back, picks up Slater and suplexes him on the floor. Camera view is blocked by Security running in there. Lance: I understand Dick Slater's back was injured and he will not be cleared for at least 30 days. I also understand Jerry Jarrett will have an announcement regarding the Mid America Title, later tonight. Very best wishes to Dick Slater. I do have some good news for you. Our first match tonight will be for the USWA tag team titles. Karachi Vice will defend against the Fabulous Ones. Let's get right to it. USWA Tag Team Title Bout The Karachi Vice (C) vs. The Fabulous Ones The bell rings but before the match gets going, ROB FULLER and JIMMY GOLDEN hit the ring and jump the Fabs! Fabs start fighting back but Karachi Vice jumps in and it's a 4 on 2. Karachi Vice double slam Keirn as the Stud Stable drop Lane with a spiked piledriver! Officials hit the ring. Commercial Break Lance: After what just went down, Jerry Jarrett is on his way out. Jerry briskly walks to the podium. Jarrett: I've had it Lance. We're coming off a tremendous event and tonight should of been a great follow up. The Stud Stable have been kicked out of the building and trust me, they will be severely punished. Speaking of punishments, what Tully Blanchard did to our Mid America champ Dick Slater went completely over the line. Tully was banned tonight because I didn't even want to see his face. However, next week I will be talking with him and I think I have a pretty good idea to share with him. Unfortunately Dick Slater will not be able to defend during the next 30 days. That is a shame because Dick represented what a fighting champion is all about. Lance, you and I know things must go on. I've decided that tomorrow night at the Cook Convention Center, the match signed between Gerry Morrow and Rocky Johnson will be for the Mid America Title. And finally, Karachi Vice is not getting away with their part in all this. They will defend the USWA tag titles tonight! Most of our teams were given the week off but there's a team that's here for an interview and instead of that, they will get a tag team title shot tonight. Boos as Karachi Vice storm out. Makhan: Oh what a surprise. What is your problem Jarrett? Gama: Great question brother Makhan. You talk about fighting champions, well we've been just that for 10 months! What is our reward? Why does all the other inferior teams get the week off and we don't? This is nothing short of injustice! We didn't have anything to do with what just happened. That is not our fight! Jarrett: You were in on the attack and honestly I think you both were still seething from that tournament loss to the Fabulous Ones. They earned that shot tonight and now they can't compete and I bet that's exactly what you wanted. The bottom line is, later tonight you will defend those belts so get ready! Jarrett leaves as Karachi Vice yell at Lance. Commercial Break "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly w/The Vin Man vs. Todd Rooney Vinnie and Kevin hug as the bell rings. Kevin is all business as he pummels Rooney. Kevin hits Rooney with several rabbit punches to the back, then picks Rooney up and clamps on the full nelson. The Ref signals for the bell as Kevin twirls Rooney around and tosses him across the ring. Vinnie gets in the ring, swings off the ropes and drops an elbow on Rooney for the fun of it. Vin and Kevin walk to the podium. Vin: As you can see the entire family isn't here tonight because Bodacious is enjoying some well deserved time off after their awesome tournament showing. BUUUUUT, lucky for you and all these cool wannabes, you still got the Vin Man and Mr. Magnificent. That's more than enough to get by on. Kev just showed why nobody wants to get in the ring with him and hey I don't blame them. Kev's the man and I'm the Vin Man...YEA! Commercial Break Billy Jack Strong vs. Curtis Moore Strong excites the crowd with a variety of power moves before executing an overhead German Suplex. Strong hoists Moore up and drops him with a delayed brainbuster for the win! Strong is joined by Carlos Colon at the podium. Lance: Gentlemen, tomorrow night at the Cook Convention Center, I understand it will be Kamala, Mark Lewin and a mystery partner facing the two of you and a mystery partner. Originally Rocky Johnson was your partner and things have taken a different turn. Colon: That is right. Things have changed. Rocky had a long talk with us and I understand what he's doing. He's fighting for a friend and now for a title. He has our blessing. Rocky being the true friend he is, called up somebody and that somebody will take his place in this fight. Strong: We wish Rocky all the best and believe us Lance when we tell you, he found us a fighter. Colon: Iaukea! Kamala! Lewin! We don't care who your partner is because we have a bigger surprise. Just wait and see! Commercial Break Another video is shown of Curt Hennig. Highlights of him in the ring and in the gym. The video cuts to him driving a convertible. He cruises up, stops, smiles and looks in the camera. "I'll see you next week" Lance: Ok, Curt Hennig returns to the USWA next week. Uh..hello A man wearing a tuxedo approaches and hands Lance a note. The man exits. Lance: (opens the note and reads it) I know how excited the fans were that the real King of wrestling was set to make an appearance tonight. However, because the King is in demand all around the world, I will not be able to attend tonight. Do not worry, the King will be there next week. Just remember, good things come to those that wait. (Lance folds the note) Well fans, I guess we'll have to wait another week for the self proclaimed King of wrestling. Yea, I'll believe it when I see it. Let's get to the ring for this week's TV title contender's match and the two names that were drawn. Winner receives a TV title shot next week "The Electrifying" Ben Bassarab vs. "The Lone Wolf" Jesse Barr The fans cheer as Bassarab waits in the ring waving to them. Boos as Barr comes out but with a different look. He's now wearing a lone ranger mask and carrying a bullrope. Barr walks around the ring threatening fans with his bullrope. Barr finally gets in the ring and swings the bullrope wildly around. The Ref warns him and Barr sets his bullrope on the outside by the steel post. The bell rings. Barr charges but Bassarab hip tosses him over. Barr gets up and Bassarab puts him down with a dropkick. Barr staggers up and Bassarab dropkicks him through the ropes. Barr gets up and stumbles back down. Bassarab goes out on the apron. Barr slowly rises and Bassarab nails him with a flying press! The Ref starts the count. Bassarab hurls Barr into the ring and goes to the top rope. Bassarab goes for his flying leg drop but Barr moves! Both men are lying there. Barr uses the ropes to help himself up. Barr stomps away on Bassarab, then chokes him with his boot. Barr picks up Bassarab, kicks him, snapmares him over and nails him with a knee to his back. Barr picks up Bassarab and executes a delayed vertical suplex. Barr hops on the middle ropes and hits an elbow drop 1..2..Kick Out. Barr raises his fist to the Ref. Barr picks up Bassarab and drops him throat first on the top rope. Barr picks up Bassarab, swings him to the corner and charges in but Bassarab moves and Barr hits hard. The fans fire Bassarab up. He pumps his fists and unloads on Barr, then hoists him up and atomic drops him through the ropes! Barr crawls over to his bullrope. Bassarab goes out after him. Barr grabs his bullrope and blasts Bassarab with it then starts choking him! The Ref signals for the DQ. Barr doesn't care and keeps choking him. The Ref goes out and tries to stop it but Barr pushes him down. The fans cheer as MIKE GEORGE runs out and nails Barr from behind! Barr takes off. George attends to Bassarab while staring down Barr. Lance: Thank goodness Mike George was here. That Jesse Barr is completely unhinged. In the end, Ben Bassarab will challenge Tony St. Clair for the TV title next week. Good for him. Commercial Break Friday...April 2nd...Market Square Arena...The USWA presents...The Happening Lance: Fans, our next closed circuit event will be The Happening. I understand we'll have some matches announced next week. Switching gears, tomorrow night at the Cook Convention Center, Gerry Morrow will take on Rocky Johnson and the winner will be the Mid America Champion. Please welcome out Rocky Johnson. Huge pop as Johnson comes out. Lance: Rocky, first off how's George Wells holding up? Johnson: He's doing a lot better but still has a ways to go. Lance, I can't tell you how mad I am right now. What Gerry Morrow did was sickening! He knew George was kicking his butt all over the place and knew he couldn't beat him on his own. Then after help from his dirt bag friend Carl Fergie, he gets the win. But no, he wasn't satisfied with that. He had to DDT George on the concrete...TWICE!!! George is a good friend of mine and I assure, you I will finish the job on you Morrow. Winning that Mid America title will be icing on the cake brother. Thundering boos as Gerry Morrow arrogantly walks out smiling with his Billionaire's title on his shoulder and a bottle of champagne. Lance: Stand back Morrow. I don't want trouble. Please Rocky, just stay calm. Rocky is visible pissed off. Morrow: Easy, Rock, easy. Look, we are both simply competitors vying for a prestigious title. Hey check dis out, I already have one and would like another. I don't know why you are so upset. Hey, I always liked George. Did he get my bottle of champagne I sent? Rocky walks forward, clenching his fists. Lance: Please Rocky just stay calm. Morrow, you better leave. Morrow: Look, do not worry about George. Here, let's have a toast to him. He has a future with me. I will even give him a choice, he can be my butler or driver. You know what, even better, he can be both, How does that sound? WHAM! Rocky tackles Morrow and unleashes with punches! Security is quick to the scene. Commercial Break "Maniac" Mark Lewin w/Curtis Iaukea vs. Clyde Putnam Lewin just destroys his opponent before putting him out of his misery with the sleeper! The bell rings but Lewin has his eyes rolled back and wrenches away. Iaukea runs in and puts the boots to Putnam. Lewin throws Putnam down and Iaukea leads him to the podium. Iaukea: Carlos Colon! You can't intimidate us! You're friend Rocky Johnson knew he was in a fight that can't be won! I warned you that a true assassin was coming and tomorrow night you will see. You just witnessed what the Maniac will do to you and you have already felt the wrath of Kamala. If Billy Jack Strong had any brains he would waaaaalllllk. Nobody will show up in your corner tomorrow night. Carlos Colon! You will be aaaallll alone and at our mercy! You have yet to sink in the deepest depths. That will happen soon enough. Iaukea and Lewin exit. Lance: Very ominous words. That man really makes me uneasy. We'll be back Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the pink "Beauty Shop" sign then pans down to Brenda Britton. Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to the highest rated show in wrestling the Beauty Shop. Ok, I know what you're all thinking and I'm going to address it. My guest was suppose to be Lancelot Von Erich but by now you all know what happened to poor Lance. Lance was hurt fighting for my honor and I was shocked and sad at what transpired. BOOOOOS! Britton: Hey! I really was! I didn't know he wasn't a Von Erich! I didn't! I went into a deep depression. Not only because of what happened to Lancelot but at all those names Alvin called me. That was uncalled for and down right mean. You know what snapped me out of it? Well, let me show you. Please welcome out tonight's guest Greg Gagne. Gagne comes out with a flat cap and sweater tied around his neck. Behind him is Duke Myers, wearing jeans, a black forearm sleeve and a black T-Shirt. Britton: Hi Greg! So great to see you. I want you to know I've been saying those words of wisdom all week. Gagne: Brenda, I'm so happy to hear that. I can tell it's working because you're glowing. Why don't you say those words right now. Britton: OK! Here goes. Sticks and stones may break my bones but Alvin's names will never hurt me. Gagne applauds and hugs Britton. Britton: You're the best Greg! Thank you! Ok, let's talk about you. I know you have lots on your mind. Gagne: First off, as you know my partner Joe Savoldi suffered injuries a few weeks ago. Being the tough kid he is, he decided to wrestle in the tournament. Well, the injuries caught up and he'll be gone for awhile. So I've decided that the Great Gagne is flying solo and going after some gold. Britton: That's wonderful! And what's Duke doing here? Gagne: Well, after Joe's injuries, me getting a hot dog thrown at me and beers poured on me, I decided to do something about it. Duker here is now my personal bodyguard. You mess with me, you mess with the Duker. Britton: You're so smart. And I heard you had a talk with Lance. Gagne: I did. He's a great kid and after our talk, he's decided to go and find his true self. I told him he didn't have to use the Von Erich name. He's going to be just fine. Look at me. I don't have the pressure of living up to the Gagne name because I've far surpassed anything any other Gagne has ever done. Britton: I agree, you're so successful Gagne: Yes, very successful. So it proves that Lance doesn't need to be a Von Erich to make it in this business. As for me, I am what I am and don't have to prove anything to anybody. And now for the big surprise. You ready Brenda? I want to bring out some old friends, who also don't need to live up to any name. The next Tag team champions of the world, Bruce and Keith Hart, known as Harts Afire! Bruce and Keith come out in shiny red jackets with flaming yellow hearts all over. They all hug. Britton: OH wow! What a happy surprise. Gagne: So glad you guys are back! I can see it now. Harts Afire, USWA tag team champs and the Great Gagne, the USWA World Champ. Brenda, this has been an adventure. Gagne gets in between the Harts and raises their arms as the fans boo. Duke points at the fans with a menacing look. Britton: It certainly has! It all happens on the Beauty Shop. Until next week toooooodles. Commercial Break Super Destroyer w/Paul Jones vs. Gary Williams Super D is all over his opponent. Jones tells him to finish him. Super D hoists Williams up on the turnbuckles and hops up. Super D hits the superplex for the pin! The fans go crazy as the Spoiler comes out, spins Jones around and applies the CLAW!! Super D looks out and sees what's going on, them rushes out. Spoiler throws Jones into Super D and punches away on him. Spoiler and Super D brawl into a commercial. Commercial Break Lance: The situation between Super Destroyer and the Spoiler is really escalating. Those two will meet tomorrow night at the Cook Center. Speaking of that card. Dusty Rhodes will go one on one with Ron Fuller. You all saw footage from the tournament as Fuller blasted Dusty with a cowbell and costed him his world title match with Terry Funk. Let's here prerecorded comments from both men. Fuller: Dusty Rhodes, I sent you a fair warning that we had unfinished business. Did you think I was kidding? (Fuller holds up his cowbell) Did this get your attention? Now I get exactly what I want. You and me are going to settle this tomorrow night at the Cook Center and believe me, this time you wont be getting up. Dusty: (bandage on his forehead) Unfinished business. That's what you call it. Ron Fuller, this business is just getting started, you understand? The business is at hand. Now my business is to take care of you and that I will do come tomorrow night babay. Terry Funk! Don't think this is over because you and I have a little unfinished business. But for right now, my business is all on you Ron Fuller! Commercial Break Lance: Ok fans, it's time for the USWA Tag team title bout. I'm excited to find out who the champs will be facing. Karachi Vice come out and they don't look happy. They enter the ring, hold up their titles and yell at the fans. Things are getting tense. All of the sudden 'Boogie Fever' plays over the speakers and the fans go wild as the Central States tag team champs the Bruise Brothers come out! USWA Tag Team Title Bout Karachi Vice (C) vs. Central States Tag Team Champs The Bruise Brothers Karachi Vice are thrown way off as the Bruise Brothers dominate the early minutes. Cash slams Gama. Makhan runs in and Snowman runs in with a running forearm blast! Makhan staggers around and Snowman body slams him down. Bruise Brothers swing Gama to the ropes and double clothesline him down. Cash works over Gama, swings him to the ropes and hip tosses him over then does a little boogie dance. Gama staggers up and Cash nails him with a knee lift, then tags in Snowman. Snowman presses Gama over his head and slams him down, then follows with an elbow drop 1..2..Makhan breaks it. The Ref guides Makhan back as Snowman tags in Cash. Cash swings off the ropes but Makhan nails him with a forearm blast to the back of the head. Gama hits Cash with a running knee and tags in Makhan. Makhan swings Cash into the corner and follows with a running clothesline. Makhan swings Cash to the opposite corner and follows with another running clothesline. Makhan scoops Cash up and powerslams him over 1..2..Snowman breaks it. The Ref guides Snowman back which allows Gama to run in. Karachi Vice hit a double vertical suplex on Cash. Makhan picks up Cash and pushes him into the corner. Gama chokes Cash while Makhan punches away. Makhan tags in Gama. Gama executes a gut wrench suplex 1..2..Cash gets his shoulder up. Snowman and the fans cheer Cash on. Gama body slams Cash by the ropes. Gama grabs the top rope and drops several knees on Cash. Gama executes a backbreaker, then applies the camel clutch! Gama wrenches away. Cash wont submit. Makhan runs in the ring and kicks Cash's head out of frustration. Snowman runs over and punches Makhan to the corner and unloads with kicks and punches. Snowman turns around and blasts Gama off Cash. The Ref guides Snowman back. The fans are pumping Cash up. Cash crawls over and makes the tag! Gama dives and tags in Makhan. Makhan and Snowman have a furious exchange. Snowman gets the upper hand, swings Makhan to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash, then swings off the ropes and hits a jumping knee drop 1..2..Makhan gets his shoulder up. Snowman reaches down but Makhan rakes the eyes, stumbles over and tags in Gama. Gama charges but Snowman back drops him over. Gama rises as Snowman swings off the ropes and nails him with a flying shoulder block 1..2..Makhan breaks it with a kick. Cash runs in and pounds away on Makhan. We've got a pier six brawl going. Cash swings Makhan to the ropes and hits him with a crossbody/headbutt! Makhan stumbles back and through the ropes. Snowman nails Gama with a jumping headbutt. Gama fly's back against the ropes and stumbles forward. Snowman grabs him, hoists him up on his shoulder and hits a running powerslam 1..2..3!!!!!!! MEGA POP! Lance: Oh my goodness! The Bruise Brothers are the new USWA tag team champions! Incredible! The fans are going wild! The Ref hands them all the titles. Cash and Snowman embrace as the fans keep cheering. The show ends with the Bruise Brothers holding up the Central States titles along with the USWA tag team titles! Winners of the match and new USWA tag team champions- The Bruise Brothers! Love Jerry Jarrett as the authority figure. I need to use someone in this manner. Bad news for Dick Slater. Looking forward to his return. Vin Man is a great mouth pieve for Kelly. I like how everyone on your roster has a role. King Curtis has really developed a team of monsters. Just as you have a role for all your wrestlers, you also have something for every type of fan. Billy Jack Strong is someone I am not familiar with but he sure had a great look. Hennig will be a Perfect addition to your roster. Bassarab vs Barr was a great TV match and either would make a worthy opponent for the TV belt. Well done match with a wild finish! Do we now get George vs Barr next week to? Someone finally has given ROcky Johnson his due! Nice job. Tough for me to decide here as Morrow is one of my favorite characters in the game right now. Iaukea on the mic is magical and eerie. Nice way to introduce the Harts and explain where Savoldi went. The Brenda/Alvin thing is great. You guys have really turned the USWA into what the NWA should have been at this period of cable TV. Total showcase. Keith executes a backbreaker and Bruce finishes things off with the Boston Crab. "Bulldog" Mike George vs. "The Lone Wolf" Jesse Barr Another hard hitting fight between these two current rivals. The fight spills out to the floor and Barr puts George down with a belly to belly suplex on the concrete! Barr rolls George back in the ring and gets the pin. Barr isn't done yet as he gets his bullrope and chokes George. Barr picks up George with the bullrope around his neck and flings him over the top rope and hangs him. The Ref tries to intervene but Barr kicks him down. Very graphic scene as Barr continues choking George until several officials come out. George is stretchered out. The Spoiler vs. Super Destroyer w/Paul Jones These guys fight all over the place. Spoiler takes control and hoists Super D up for a suplex but Paul Jones nails Spoiler at the knees with his cane. Spoiler crumbles down with Super D on top 1..2..3! Jones is very happy with himself. Special Challenge Match The Fabulous Ones vs. The Stud Stable Fabs are pretty beaten up from the Stud Stable but demanded a match with them tonight. Stud Stable take advantage of that and control most of the match. Pier six brawl breaks out. Fabs swing the Stud Stable into each other, Keirn grabs Golden's tights and rolls him over 1..2..3! Fabs roll out as the Stud Stable throw a tantrum in the ring. Carlos Colon/ Billy Jack Strong and ??? vs. Kamala,/"Maniac" Mark Lewin and ??? w/Curtis Iaukea WOW! Coming down the aisle with Kamala, Lewin and Iaukea is none other than Kendo Nagasaki! Kendo gets in the ring and swings his kendo stick around. Iaukea has his monsters ready for battle. The fans cheer as Colon and Strong walk out, stop, turn around and wave their partner out. The place erupts as THE STOMPER comes out! They hit the ring and fists are flying! The match never officially starts but they give the fans a wild and insane 10 minute brawl! It takes awhile for things to settle down. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. "The Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller Some bad blood here. After going at it for 20 minutes, Dusty gets control. The fans are on their feet as Dusty punches away on Fuller and puts him down with a bionic elbow. Dusty hops on the middle ropes. Fuller staggers up. Dusty jumps off with a double axehandle but Fuller pulls the Ref and Dusty nails the Ref. Dusty is trying to help the Ref. Fuller sneaks up but Dusty sees him and punches away. RON FULLER and JIMMY GOLDEN hit the ring and attack Dusty. Ron rolls out of the ring, looks under the ring and pulls out a cowbell. The fans go crazy as the FABULOUS ONES hit the ring and take it to the Stud Stable. They knock them to the outside and chase them to the back. Ron gets back in the ring. Dusty slowly staggers up and WHAM! Ron blasts him with the cowbell. Ron covers as the disoriented Ref slowly crawls over and counts 1..2..3! BOOOOOO! For the Mid-America Title "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson vs. "Champagne" Gerry Morrow Jerry Jarrett stands in the ring and holds up the Mid-America title. Morrow arrogantly walks over and compares it with his Billionaire's title. The bell rings and Rocky is all over Morrow. Morrow tries to run out of the ring but Rocky grabs him by his tights and sends him flying with an overhead German suplex. Morrow staggers up and wildly swings but Rocky ducks and atomic drops him into the turnbuckles. Morrow staggers back and Rocky drop kicks him back into the turnbuckles, then rolls him up 1..2..Morrow barely gets his shoulder up. Morrow rolls out of the ring and stumbles around. The Ref reaches 8 but stops when Rocky goes out after him. Morrow kicks Rocky low and swings him into the steel post, then rolls him back into the ring. Morrow goes to the top rope and crashes down with a forearm drop 1..2..Kick Out. Morrow stomps on Johnson and chokes him with his boot, then rakes it across his head. Morrow swings Rocky to the ropes and clotheslines him down. Morrow picks up Johnson and drops him with a Hangman's neckbreaker 1..2..Johnson gets his shoulder up. Morrow berates the Ref. Morrow executes a gut wrench suplex 1..2..Kick Out! The fans start to chant "Rocky" Rocky" Morrow hoists up Rocky and delivers a delayed hanging suplex. Morrow smiles and yells "Get de champagne ready" Morrow slowly goes to the top ropes. Morrow smiles and holds out his arms as the fans boo. Those boos turn to a cheering roar as Rocky gets up, runs over and slams Morrow off the top rope! Morrow is reeling as the fans fire Rocky up. Rocky shakes his fists. Morrow staggers up, Rocky swings him to the ropes and hits a big back drop. Morrow staggers up and Rocky puts him down with a high dropkick 1..2..Morrow gets his foot on the rope. Rocky reaches down but Morrow rakes his eyes. Morrow rakes his eyes again. Morrow swings Rocky into the corner. Morrow smiles and gestures his hands around his waist. Morrow charges in but Johnson sunset flips over him 1..2..3!!!!! The place goes bonkers! Jarrett goes in and presents Johnson with the Mid-America Title. Morrow is arguing with the Ref and Jarrett but they're not really listening. Morrow heads towards Rocky but thinks twice when Rocky raises the title towards him. Morrow gives Rocky a warning point then exits. The fans cheer as Rocky holds up the title. Right off the bat as The Fabs get a shot at Karachi Vice after taking them out of the DVEMTT last weekend, but then the Stud Stable hit the ring and the brawl is on!! Jerry Jarrett tosses the Stud Stable out of the building. We find out that Blanchard is banned from the building, Dick Slater can't defend his title, and now either Morrow or Rocky Johnson will be the new Mid Americas Champion!! Not only that, but Karachi will still defend the belts TONIGHT!! A six man tag with mystery partners on both sides! That should be fun!! Oh Man! Both Curt Hennig and The King arrive next week!! I wish it was next week!! Jesse Barr is now playing dress up, as he continues to lose it! But him choking out Bassarab make sure no one thinks its a joke! Mike George runs in for the save, and the feud will continue!! Morrow and Johnson is going to be a great feud!! I can't repeat enough how awesome a job you've done with Morrow! Oh....that was a Beauty Shop..... be right back, I need to go write a Fiesta Garden..... The Spoiler/Super D feud is heating up nicely and they haven't even had a match yet! When these two finally collide it should be fun! Fuller/Rhodes is a guaranteed war!! Fuck Yeah!! The Bruise Brothers are double champions!! One hell of a match, and Karachi Vice's death grip on the titles is all over!! Great Ending!!! On to the Cook Convention Center..... Greg's lackeys get a win... Meh! Oh Man, Jesse Barr has lost it! Mike George gets hung and stretchered out in match 2!! Hope that doesn't set a precedent for the evening!!! Super D gets the cheap victory on Spoiler after interference from Jones! Perfect finish for the first meeting!! Fabs pick up a nice win over the Stud Stable, but this is far from over! Nagasaki makes a great addition to Iaukea's army! The Stomper makes for a nice counter!! Wild brawl ensues, and who expected anything less!! Fuller gets the win on Dusty after whacking him with a cowbell, but the real story here is probably going to be the resulting 6 man tags with Dusty teaming with The Fabs! That is gonna draw some Money!! Great Main Event!! Rocky Johnson is definitely the right choice for the winner here. He is going to have a great run here in the USWA. Good stuff as always Spaldoni! Hate to see Slater out of the picture, but I'm excited to see Rocky Johnson vs. Morrow for the Mid America title! As if things weren't bad enough between the Fabs and the Stud Stable, now Fuller and Golden cost Lane/Keirn their big shot at the USWA tag team titles! I can't wait to see what the Fabs do for revenge! What's more exciting than a match with A mystery partner??? A match with 2 mystery partners....can't wait to see who each side brings! Curt Hennig returns next week!! Also, we have to wait one more week to find out who the new King is! So much suspense in the USWA right now! I've enjoyed this slow transformation of Jesse Barr here.....regardless of whether you go all the way with the Jimmy Jack Funk name, I liked that look for Barr and this has been a great way to get there. AWESOME Beauty Shop segment! I've never been a fan of Greg Gagne but I've enjoyed his heel run here in the USWA but this outing in particular may be my favorite thing yet. "The Great Gagne", I love him going so far as to knock his father saying he's done more than any other Gagne....lol. I also love that as soon as his "friends" go by the wayside here he immediately replaces them. This time he's got "The Duker" and the "Harts Afire"....this should be a lot of fun! Super D w/Paul Jones vs. Spoiler has been built up nicely, looking forward to seeing them square off in a match Fuller vs. Dusty! My ticket is purchased! What a way to end the tv show with the Bruise Brothers winning the USWA World tag team titles! They currently have all the tag team gold! These guys are OVER!! Such an awesome job building them up as a tag team! Let's hit the road to Cook Convention Center! The Harts put on a clinic with some locals and show what they're bringing to the table! Looks like the 'Lone Wolf' has taken out Mike George.....hopefully. Super D gets the win over the Spoiler thanks to Paul Jones.....this can't be over The Fabs get a win over the Stable....but much like the previous match, I just don't think we've seen the end of this. Kamala and Lewin bring Kendo Nagasaki as their partner.....but I have to say, I was both shocked and happy to see Colon and Strong bring THE STOMPER as their partner....if you're fighting monsters....that's exactly what you need to is a monster! Awesome stuff! The Tennessee Stud gets a HUGE win over the American Dream thanks to the cowbell (well, plus Rob and Jimmy) After crushing the fans hopes with a Ron Fuller victory over Dusty Rhodes....what better way to send everyone home happy than Rocky Johnson victory for the Mid America title over the Champagne man! That's followed by footage from the Cook Center as Rocky Johnson defeats Gerry Morrow to win the vacated Mid America Title. Lance Russell: Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling right here on the USA network. Well we have new USWA tag team champions and we'll be seeing them next week. Once again congratulations to the Bruise Brothers. And congratulations to Rocky Johnson as he defeated Gerry Morrow at the Cook Center to become the new Mid America Champ. We'll be seeing Rocky next week as well. Also tonight, Tony St. Clair defends the TV title against Ben Bassarab. Fans, last week at the Cook Convention Center, Ron Fuller pinned Dusty Rhodes after once again using a cowbell on him. Well apparently Dusty has had enough and this weekend at the Mid South Coliseum, he will face Ron Fuller in a bullrope match. On that note, listen to this, tonight's main event will be Dusty teaming with the Fabulous Ones to take on the entire Stud Stable. You talk about a main event that would sell out any arena. You great fans get to see it right here tonight. So much going on so let's kick things off with our TV title bout. TV Title Bout Tony "Simply the Best" St. Clair (C) w/Les Thornton vs. "The Electrifying" Ben Bassarab Bassarab remains focused as Thornton takes the UK colored robe off Tony. Tony unstraps his title and holds it up. Thornton grabs it, shows it to Bassarab and shakes his head. The Ref signals for the bell and here we go. They lock up and Tony clamps on a headlock, then gives Bassarab a quick punch to the head. Bassarab backs up as Tony smiles, claps his hands and lets Bassarab know who he's in the ring with. They lock up again and Tony clamps on another headlock. Bassarab hoists him up and executes a back suplex. Tony rolls back into the corner as Bassarab lets him know who he's dealing with. Thornton is throwing a fit and pointing up at Bassarab. They lock up again. Bassarab clamps on a headlock but Tony pushes him to the ropes, Bassarab swings back and puts Tony down with a shoulder block. Tony gets up and Bassarab scoop slams him down. Bassarab swings off the ropes and hits a high jumping knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Bassarab swings off the ropes but Thornton trips him. Bassarab stumbles forward, stops and goes back after Thornton. Bassarab goes to the outside and chases Thornton. Bassarab finally slides back in the ring but Tony meets him with a knee to the head. Tony works over Bassarab with a variety of suplexes but cant put him away. Tony swings Bassarab to the ropes, does a somersault and nails Bassarab with a diving headbutt to the mid section. Tony quickly cradles Bassarab 1..2..Kick Out. Thornton berates the Ref. Tony goes for a vertical suplex but Bassarab blocks it and suplexes Tony back! Both men are reeling. They both stagger up and have an exchange. Tony fires away with European uppercuts as Bassarab fires back with forearm blasts. Bassarab gets the upper hand, swings Tony to the ropes and puts him down with a high dropkick. Thornton gets on the apron and the fans cheer as Bassarab sends him flying with a high dropkick. Bassarab hoists Tony up and atomic drops him. Tony is wobbling and Bassarab puts him down with a clothesline 1..2..Kick Out. Bassarab picks Tony up but Tony rakes the eyes. Tony swings Bassarab to the ropes but misses a clothesline, Bassarab swings back and nails Tony with a Thesz Press but Tony holds on, carry's the momentum and hot shots Bassarab on the top rope. Tony regroups, picks up Bassarab and executes a floating butterfly suplex 1..2..3! Tony St. Clair retains the TV title! Commercial Break Lance: I'm here with the TV champ Tony St. Clair and Les Thornton. My goodness that was an exciting match. I have to say, Mr. St. Clair's TV title reign has been nothing short of spectacular. Thornton: Tell us something we don't know. Lance: Well I know you know about the big plans for our next closed circuit event The Happening on April 2nd but let me inform our fans. Thornton: Yes, very well, you do that. Lance: Ok, at the Happening there will be a special international match. Our reigning TV champ Tony St. Clair will meet the current Universal Wrestling Association champion, from Mexico, El Canek. No titles will be on the line. This should be an all time wrestling classic between two outstanding champions. I understand, next week there will be a special press conference with both participants in attendance. Thornton: Well, to tell you the truth Mr. Russell, I would much rather save my words for next week then to share them with you today. Good day. Lance: Ah..ok. I guess we'll go to the ring. The South Pacific Connection vs. Sam Smith and Gary Williams SPC work their opponents over with chops, slams and headbutts. The end comes when SPC double slam Smith, then hop up on opposite corners and crash down with stereo diving headbutts for the win! Commercial Break Kamala/Kendo Nagasaki/"Maniac" Mark Lewin w/Curtis Iaukea vs. Clinton Stitch/Willie Lopez and Vic Dutro Iaukea's monsters totally destroy their opponents. Kamala finishes the match with a big splash on Dutro. After the match, Lewin grabs Lopez and puts him out with the sleeper. Kendo tortures Stitch with the oriental spike. Lewin lays Lopez down and Kendo lays Stitch on top of Lopez. Kamala swings off the ropes and splashes both men! Iaukea leads his men to the podium. Iaukea: Stomper! You're a very foolish man! You got involved in a fight that was not your concern and now you must pay! Tomorrow night at the Mid South Coliseum you will face the Maniac! (Lewin rolls up his eyes) Stomper! You're going to regret your decision. As for you Carlos Colon, you will face the end when you step into the ring with Kamala! And if Billy Jack Strong wants to get punished, the assassin Kendo Nagasaki is waiting! Iaukea does a manacle laugh before leaving. That's right, it's me and you Terry Funk for the USWA world title baby! The Superstar is fired up and ready to rock daddy! I'm not coming to town to loose brother, I'm coming to take that title! Lance: Ok, on that note please welcome out the USWA world champion Terry Funk. Funk storms out in his usual manner. He stares Lance down the snatches the mic. Funk: Well, well well, little Bill wants the world title. Well little Bill is going to come up short, just like his entire career. It's laughable if anybody thinks he's going to beat me for this here title. Nobody is going to beat me for it. Not Scott Casey! Not Johnny Mantell! Not Bob Armstrong! Not Jerry Lawler, oh wait I already sent him packing. And not that fat pig Dusty Rhodes! I've wrestled them all and I beat them all! And Lance, if you keep staring at me like that, I'm going to beat you to! Funk pushes the mic in Lance's chest and storms off. Lance: (Shaking his head) I think he's losing it. Back to the ring. The Spoiler vs. Rick Linderman Spoiler dismantles his opponent before finishing him off with the claw! Spoiler cuts a promo on his upcoming Mid South Coliseum match where he will team with Rocky Johnson to take on Super Destroyer and Gerry Morrow. Spoiler gives Paul Jones a stern warning if he interferes. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, with me right now is Jerry Jarrett. Jerry, I know you have a few things to talk about. Jarrett: Thank you Lance. First up, I said last week I had some news for Tully Blanchard. Well, I received a message from Baby Doll saying Tully didn't feel like coming in today. Listen up Tully, you will be here next week or I'll make sure you never wrestle in this country again. Now (Jarrett holds up the Central States tag team titles and sets them on the podium) I want to congratulate the Bruise Brothers on winning the USWA tag titles. They relinquished these Central States titles. I want to say that at The Happening, I will determine two teams that will wrestle for these titles. So we'll see new Central States tag champs crowned. Speaking of The Happening, tonight you all will hear some matches signed for that big event. One match I will announce right now is the Bruise Brothers will defend the USWA tag titles against Bodacious. Lance, this is going to be one tremendous event. Lance: Ok, a lot to take in. Well, let's take a look at Bodacious right now. Bodacious w/The Vin Man vs. Neil Jordan and Trent Watkins Vinnie is pumped up as he watches his team Doug Sommers and Chick Donovan put on a tag team clinic. They finish things off with a double hot shot on the top rope! Kevin Kelly joins the crew at the podium. Vin: Lancey Lancey Lancey! We're on cloud nine! My men Bodacious are going to without a doubt become USWA tag champs! Those Clown brothers don't have a prayer. Bodacious has more skills, more class. more talent and defiantly a lot more soul! If you know what I mean. Lance: Not sure I do. I've also been informed that Kevin Kelly will go one on one with Bob Roop at The Happening. Kelly: Bob Roop? Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the pink "Beauty Shop' sign then pans down on Brenda Britton Britton: Hi everybody and welcome again to the number one rated segment in wrestling, the Beauty Shop. And I mean number one, second to none! This week there will be no guest. You want to know why? I'll tell you why. I have such a big announcement that it would overshadow any guest. And I wouldn't want that. It just wouldn't be right. Ok, listen up. The Beauty Shop is where it all happens. So I think it's only fitting that the real King of Professional Wrestling makes his first appearance right here on my show! That's right! I once again did what no suit in the USWA could do. I've officially booked the real King! That's right, I know who the King is but I aint telling. So next week, right here on my show, the real King will grace us with an appearance. The Beasts of Burden vs. Carl Kellerman and Pete Moore Nord and Rip are wearing black boots, black knee pads and black trunks with a face of a white Oxen on back. Total annihilation! They double clothesline Kellerman over the top rope. They swing Moore to the ropes and put him down with a double boot shot to the face for the devastating win! The Beasts hold Moore up as Ox grabs him by his hair and puts him down with the Heart Punch! Poor Moore is stretchered out. Lance: I don't know what to say. That was total destruction. My goodness I hope that poor kid will be ok. We'll be back Commercial Break Bob Roop vs. William Hillman Roop puts on a wrestling display before finishing his opponent off with a running shoulder breaker! Roop heads to the podium. Lance: Look'n pretty good Bob. I understand you have some info on the whereabouts of your partner Brad Rheingans. Roop: Yes I do. Brad is currently on a tour of Japan and will be back in a few weeks. I'm going to stay sharp in the ring by flying solo for awhile. Now I heard Kevin Kelly and his flunkie out here earlier and all I have to say is keep laughing and go ahead and underestimate me. Bob Roop has been around and at The Happening, I'm going to give Mr. Magnificent a wrestling lesson he'll never forget. Commercial Break Lance: I've been excited about this for awhile, Curt Hennig is set for action. Curt Hennig vs. Ray Glader ACDC's Back in Black blasts over the speakers as Hennig makes his way out to a rousing ovation. Hennig gives the fans a show with hip tosses, crisp arm drags and high dropkicks. Hennig finishes things off with a Bridging Fisherman's Suplex for the impressive win. Lance: Curt, come on over. Welcome back. Curt: Thank you Lance, it's a thrill to be back in the USWA! Lance: Well you certainly didn't waste anytime. I heard you wanted a match at The Happening and you got one. You'll be going one on one with Greg Gagne. You two have some connected family history. Your dad Larry the Axe and his dad Verne Gagne at one time had quite a heated rivalry. Curt: They sure did and ...... Boos as Greg Gagne strolls out with his bodyguard Duke Myers. Gagne is wearing a flat cap, golf clothes and has a sweater tied around his neck. Duke is wearing black jeans, has a black forearm sleeve and red jersey with DUKER written across the back. Gagne: Lance, you will address me as The Great Gagne, got it. (looks at Curt) Well, look at you Curt, all grown up and ready for the big time. Well it doesn't get any bigger than the Great Gagne. Friendly word of advice. Don't talk about your dad, just makes you look pathetic. Curt: Hey, I'm proud of what my dad accomplished and you should be proud of yours as well. Gagne: Spoken like a true daddy's boy. Baby boy Curt, loves his daddy so much. You make me sick. Curt steps in but Duke gets in front of Greg. Lance: Easy gentlemen, easy. Curt: Out of respect for you Lance, I'll back off. Get ready Gagne, at The Happening your mine! Curt leaves. Gagne: It's the Great Gagne! Get it right baby boy! Come on Duker, let's go. Lance: (pauses) Our blockbuster main event when we come back. Commercial Break "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and The Fabulous Ones vs. The Stud Stable (Fullers and Golden) Of course right when the bell rings all the fists are flying. The Ref lets it go for a bit. Dusty is all over Ron as he punches him in the corner. The Fabs swing Rob and Golden to the ropes and send them out of the ring with stereo dropkicks. It's Dusty and Ron in the ring as things settle down. Dusty hops on the turnbuckles and the fans count along as Dusty hits Ron 10 times. Dusty hops down, swings Ron into the opposite corner and follows with a running clothesline. Rob and Golden run in but the Fabs are on them. It's another pier six brawl! The Ref tries several times to get some order but not happening. The Ref finally signals for a DOUBLE DQ. The Stud Stable eventually retreats. The fans are up and cheering as Dusty and the Fabs go to the podium. Lane: Stud Stable! That was just a taste. We got you boys again tomorrow night! Keirn: And we're going to have some fun! I watches some videos of him and he is the real deal! Wonder if this could be the end? The South Pacific Connection has made a nice name for themselves here. I could see this team really getting over with the fans. Iaukea's group is so well built and fit perfectly with him. It will be interresting to see how the Stopmer fairs against them. It seems like he fits right in with this group but now he has to defeat them. 9 times out of 10 I would think Terry Funk comes out on top against Dundee but it is the Mid-South Coliseum. Very interesting. The Spoiler & Rocky Johson make an interesting team. Morrow better have two champagne bottles ready for this one. Even Brenda knows who the King is! I can't wait. Ox Baker..... one scary dude! as are the Beasts of Burden. This is going to be wild!!! Curt Hennig ! Finally I think we might soon see the end of Greg Gagne! WHAT A MAIN EVENT! South Pacific Connection get themselves another W! I like this pairing a lot. Iaukea's army is ready for war! What a nasty group. Looking forward to the inevitable nasty gimmick match to end this feud. The Funker vs The Superstar should be a fun one! Good promo's from both guys! Terry starting to feel the pressure I think. Spoiler and Rocky vs Morrow and Super D is an awesome freaking tag match! Looking forward to that one for sure!! Bodacious getting a title shot! Kevin Kelly taking out Bob Bloop! We Are Family!! Great Segment!! You've struck gold again with this group. Ohh... next week is going to be huge! The King and Luscious will both finally be revealed!! Oh Damn.... Ox Baker as a manager for Rip and Nord. Fuuccckkk.... I think we know who the next top heel team in the USWA is going to be. Great pairing. Wow! Roop is a veteran, and will definitely give Kelly everything he can handle. Curt Hennig returns and looks fantastic, and then immediately gets saddled with Gagne. Apparently Jarrett wants to make sure he can carry a feud! Wild main event finishes just as I expected! The bullrope match should be a bloodbath, and the Fabs are obviously dying to get themselves a piece of Rob and Jimmy. Should make for two stellar main events. The Stomper w/Billy Jack Strong vs. "Maniac" Mark Lewin w/Curtis Iaukea After brawling for a few minutes, Lewin misses a charge in the corner and Stomper rolls him up for a quick pin. Kendo Nagasaki runs out and nails Strong from behind. Iaukea and Kendo double team Strong. Stomper heads out and takes Iaukea down. Lewin nails Stomper. Everybody fights for a few more minutes. Winner of the Match- The Stomper Mid America Champ Rocky Johnson and The Spoiler vs. "Champagne" Gerry Morrow and The Super Destroyer w/Paul Jones Tempers flare all throughout the match. Spoiler and Super D end up fighting on the outside. Jones tries to get involved but Spoiler knocks him down. Johnson dropkicks Morrow through the ropes. Morrow crawls over and gets his Billionaire's title. The Ref is distracted by Spoiler and Super D fighting. Johnson gets half way through the ropes to get at Morrow. Morrow blasts Johnson with the Billionaire's title! The Ref turns around and sees Morrow covering Johnson. He runs over and counts 1..2..3! Winners of the Match- Gerry Morrow and The Super Destroyer The Fabulous Ones vs. The Stud Stable (Rob Fuller and Jimmy Golden) It doesn't take long before both teams fight to a DOUBLE C.O. That's just the beginning. Things get crazy when Golden grabs a chair. Rob pushes Keirn into the steel post, then holds Lane. Golden swings the chair down but Lane elbows Rob and ducks. Golden nails Rob with the chair! Keirn clips Golden behind the knee. Lane grabs the chair and hits Golden's knee with it! Keirn applies the figure four as Lane hits Golden's knee with the chair! This continues until several officials run out to stop it. Golden needs to be carried out. Official Ruling- A Double C.O. Carlos Colon vs. Kamala w/Curtis Iaukea These guys give the fans a good 10 minute fight. Kamala has Colon down and goes for a big splash but Colon moves. Both men stagger up and have a furious exchange. Colon gets the upper hand and scoop slams Kamala. Colon goes to the middle ropes and crashes down with an elbow drop 1..2..NO! Iaukea runs in and kicks Colon. The Ref signals for the DQ. Colon gets up in a fit of rage, grabs Iaukea and starts choking him. Nagasaki runs in and nails Colon with his kendo stick! Billy Jack Strong hits the ring and clotheslines Nagasaki down. Lewin hits the ring and puts Strong down with a forearm blast from behind. Stomper runs in and pounds away on Lewin. All 6 men continue to fight. Winner by DQ- Carlos Colon USWA Tag Team Title Bout The Bruise Brothers (C) vs. Karachi Vice Karachi Vice gets their immediate rematch and they looked pissed. Bruise Brothers look focused and ready to go as they proudly hold their titles up. After a good 15 minute back and forth match, Karachi Vice is in control. Gama hits a gut wrench suplex on Cash then tags in Makhan. Makhan swings Cash into the corner and charges in with an avalanche but Cash moves, dives over and tags in Snowman. Snowman works over Makhan then puts him down with a clothesline and follows with a jumping elbow drop 1..2..Gama drops a knee on Snowman. Cash runs in, punches Gama to the ropes and sends him over the top with a jumping headbutt. Makhan staggers up, the Bruise Brothers grab him and nail him with a double jumping headbutt. Makhan staggers around. In an awesome display of strength, Snowman hoists Makhan up and powerslams him over 1..2..3! Winners and still USWA Tag Team Champs- The Bruise Brothers Bullrope Match! "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. "The Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller As soon as they're hooked up, Fuller runs out of the ring but Dusty pulls the rope and yanks him back in. Dusty does a little dance and wiggles his finger at Fuller. Dusty shakes the rope and that cowbell is ringing. Fuller tries to yank the rope but Dusty runs over and clotheslines him down. The first few minutes is all Dusty. After hitting, stomping and choking, Dusty busts Fuller open with a cowbell shot. Dusty covers 1..2..Fuller barley gets his shoulder up. As Dusty rises, Fuller wraps the rope and pulls it up between Dusty's legs. Dusty is down and Fuller regroups. The next segment is all Fuller. Fuller busts Dusty open with a cowbell shot. Fuller picks up Dusty and executes 3 backbreakers followed by 3 body slams with authority. Fuller stomps on Dusty's legs then wraps the ropes around his legs and applies the Fuller Lock! Dusty is screaming in pain as the fans try and fire him up. Dusty frantically fights then rakes the eyes of Fuller several times which finally breaks the hold. Fuller staggers up and rubs his eyes. Dusty grabs the ropes to help himself up. Fuller turns around and into several punches by Dusty. Dusty puts him down with a cowbell blast. Dusty limps around and is feeding off the crowd's cheers. Dusty hops up on the middle ropes. Fuller slowly rises and Dusty nails him with another cowbell shot! Fuller is down. Dusty follows with a bionic elbow drop 1..2..3! HUGE POP! Winner of the match- Dusty Rhodes USWA World Title Bout Terry Funk (C) vs. "Superstar" Bill Dundee Dundee gets a hero's welcome back from the Memphis fans. He looks determined. The rousing cheers turn to thundering boos as Funk wildly storms down the aisle. Big match feel during introductions. The Ref holds the title up and signals for the bell. Funk immediately charges and pounds away on Dundee. Funk swings Dundee to the ropes but misses a clothesline. Dundee swings back and hits a flying cross body block 1..2..Funk barely kicks out. The fans and Dundee thought it was over. Funk quickly rolls out of the ring and staggers around. Funk is livid and flips over chairs then starts throwing them in the ring. The Ref finally gets some order. Funk gets on the apron and yells at Dundee. Dundee goes over, Funk takes a wild swing but Dundee ducks and back suplexes Funk back in the ring 1..2..Kick Out. Funk rolls out to the apron. Dundee swings off the ropes and baseball slides Funk to the outside. After a few seconds, Funk staggers up and takes a wild swing at a heckling fan. Funk finally gets on the apron. Dundee goes over, Funk takes a swing but Dundee blocks it, fires away and this time vertical suplexes Funk back in the ring 1..2..Kick Out. Dundee swings Funk into the corner and charges in with a high knee but Funk moves. Dundee hits hard and falls back. Funk is just lying there. Both men stagger up. Funk grabs Dundee and executes a swinging neckbreaker 1..2..Dundee gets his foot on the ropes. Funk berates the Ref then chokes away on Dundee. Funk hits Dundee with several delayed stomps. Funk picks up Dundee and pushes him into the corner and follows with several shoulder thrusts. Funk pulls Dundee out by his hair and hits a Russian Leg Sweep 1..2..Dundee gets his shoulder up. An irate Funk starts pounding Dundee with fists. Funk hops on the middle ropes and comes down with a forearm drop 1..2..Kick Out. Now Funk is really mad. He pushes the Ref and gets a stern warning. After arguing with the Ref, Funk finally turns his attention back on Dundee. Dundee slowly rises. Funk grabs him and attempts another Russian Leg Sweep but Dundee grabs the top rope and Funk hits the canvas hard. Dundee shakes the cobwebs. The fans are up and cheering as Dundee pumps his fists. Funk slowly staggers up and Dundee fires away with those Memphis style punches, swings Funk to the ropes and back drops him high up and over. As Funk rises, Dundee hits a Bulldog 1..2..Funk gets his shoulder up. Dundee swings Funk to the ropes and a back elbow smash puts him down. Dundee swings off the ropes and crashes down with a jumping knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Dundee picks up Funk and executes a delayed vertical suplex. Dundee goes to the top ropes. Funk slowly rises and Dundee hits him with a double axe handle 1..2..Funk barely gets his shoulder up. Dundee sits up clearly frustrated. As Dundee reaches down to pick up Funk, Funk gouges his eyes but Dundee quickly responds and clamps the sleeper on Funk. Funk mule kicks Dundee low. Both men topple over. Dundee is in serious pain. He slowly starts to rise but Funk quickly rolls him over with a handful of tights 1..2..3! Funk slowly rolls out of the ring and yanks the title off the table, then holds it up as the fans boo. One big match after another and all we exciting finishes! Love what you are doing with Colon as he is just a warrior ready to fight in all the dirty matches against the monsters on the heel side. Fab Ones-Studd Stable early in the card shows you how great this event was. This would be main event on the house show loop but here, it is just another awesome match. Dundee and the Tn Studd come up short but those last two matches would habe had the crowd on their feet. Loved this event. WOW!! There's no way that 9 year old me in '86 is leaving the tv with that main event coming up! Tony St. Clair continues to be unstoppable as the TV champ....you have to wonder if ANYONE is going to be able to take it away from him! Iaukea's monsters is pretty accurate but if anybody can hang with these guys it's the Stomper! It's great seeing him here in this role! Very cool to see the 'Superstar' coming "home" to where he did the biggest things of his career to challenge Funk for the World Championship! Haha, Funk makes sure he doesn't forget anybody in his promo! Great stuff! On paper, Spoiler/Rocky vs. Super D/Morrow looks like the oddest tag team match ever, but with everything that's been happening it makes perfect sense.....looking forward to it! A tag team title shot upcoming at the big event AND they manage to sing 'We Are Family' on the air....a pretty stellar week for the Vin Man and company! Whoa!! The long awaited debut of the new King is going to happen on the Beauty Shop next week!! Suck on that, Alvin!! Holy crap, Ox Baker has put together Nord/Morgan as the Beasts of Burden with himself as their manager! ALL the tag teams in the USWA better be on high alert with this two running rampant! Curt Hennig is back!! and already has heat with the "Great Gagne".....I have to admit this heel Great Gagne gimmick is a guilty pleasure of mine....I know in reality Greg Gagne is not highly regarded by many fans but this is just fun stuff...then thrown in the "Duker" and it's a highlight for me each week. Much like the Continental main event this week....there's just too much bad blood for this to get settled....let's see what happens in Memphis! Harts Afire once again make short work of some locals....I predict these guys will work their way up the card quite quickly Stomper gets the win in the midst of the chaos but something is going to have to give soon.....I see a cage in their future! My guy 'Champagne' Gerry gets the pin over Johnson in a wild tag match....I think he's still looking to pair that Mid America title with the Billionaires title! The Fabs vs. the Stud Stable seems to be another match that a conventional just can't seem to hold....looking forward to seeing where this leads! To no one's surprise.....the rest of the gang gets involved with Carlos vs. Kamala.....I feel like this will all end in a very bloody conclusion! Thankfully, The Bruise Brothers managed to retain the tag titles.....one has to wonder where the Karachi Vice will go from here after a dominate run as tag champs. Awesome Bullrope Match sees Dusty get the win when he manages to get the Stud one on one! That's followed by Jerry Jarrett standing in front of a USWA banner. Jarrett: Hello wrestling fans. I can't tell you how excited I am for the Happening. That event will take place on April 2nd at the Market Square Arena. Throughout tonight's program Lance and I will be announcing more exciting matches. I just couldn't wait to make this announcement. At the Happening, Terry Funk will defend the USWA world title against The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Both men will be here live next week. But right now we have some pre recorded comments from both men. Dusty: Terry Funk! I told you we had unfinished business. It seems like we always have unfinished business. At the Happening, I'm looking to finally take care of business if you will. It's you and me, one more time but this time I'm walk'n away with that USWA world title baby! Funk: Dusty Rhodes! You're a sickness that wont go away! No matter where I go, you follow me. You're nothing but an egg suck'n dog! You know what I do with an egg suck'n dog? I put it down! That's exactly what I'm going to do at the happening. You're just pathetic! There's no way in hell your taking this here title from me. I will be counting down the days until I finally put that sickness which is you out of my mind forever! Lance: Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of USWA wrestling here on the USA network. Well you heard the big news, Terry Funk will defend the USWA title against Dusty Rhodes at the Happening. Jerry will be out here later for another huge announcement. Big show lined up tonight. Billy Jack Strong will take on Kendo Nagasaki. Steve Keirn takes on Rob Fuller. The Spoiler will go one on one with the Super Destroyer. I've been told they will also meet at the Happening but couldn't wait until then. Also tonight, the real King of wrestling will supposedly make his debut on the Beauty Shop. All that and so much more. Let's go to the ring for the debut of a new tag team. Adrenaline Rush (Ben Bassarab and George Takano) vs. Sam Smith and Trent Watkins Bassarab and Takano come out wearing matching neon green knee length wrestling pants and green high top wrestling shoes. It's all high flying offense. Takano executes a inverted piledriver on Smith, then tags in Bassarab. Bassarab hits a flying leg drop from the top rope for the exciting win. Cheers as they head to the podium. Lance: Congratulations on your win. Boy, the name Adrenaline Rush really suits you. How did you guys connect? Bassarab: Well Lance, my former partner Scott Doring wanted to try some other things and decided to leave the territory. I wanted to continue my quest for some tag team gold. I called up my old friend George Takano and Adrenaline Rush was born. We were told earlier that we'll be facing Harts Afire at the Happening. You can bet we'll be pumped up for that match. Commercial Break Steve Keirn w/Stan Lane vs. Rob Fuller w/Jimmy Golden Before the match, Rob Fuller and Jimmy Golden go to the podium. Jimmy is on crutches. Golden: Look what those animals did to my leg! Both will pay! I guran damn tee it! Rob: Like they say, an eye for an eye Lance Rob gets in the ring. The fans go crazy as Keirn slides into the ring and the fight is on. Fists are flying as they hammer away on each other. Keirn gets the upper hand, swings Rob to the ropes and back drops him. Rob staggers up and Keirn dropkicks him down. Rob rolls out of the ring. Jimmy is yelling over at Lane. Booooos as RON FULLER runs out and blasts Lane from behind with a chair! Keirn goes out but Rob grabs one of Jimmy's crutches and blasts Keirn with it! The bell is ringing but the Fullers continue their assault. Several officials run out. The Fullers get in a few more stomps before leaving. Commercial Break Lance: Well, the Fabulous Ones were pretty battered and had to be helped out. Yea, ok, here they come. Ron Fuller, I hope you, Rob and Jimmy are real proud of yourselves. Ron: Hold on Lance. My brother Rob told you this was going to be an eye for an eye. Look at Jimmy's leg! What just happened was some good old fashion southern justice. Rob: Ha Ha Ha! Southern Fuller justice indeed. The Stud Stable exits. Lance: (shaking his head) Back to the ring. Mid-America Champ "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson vs. Gary Williams Johnson nails Williams with several lighting quick jabs then puts him down with a big punch. Williams slowly rises and Johnson hits a sunset flip for the win! Lance: Rocky, come on over. It's now official. At the Happening, you will be defending the Mid America title against Gerry Morrow. Johnson: Oh Lance, that's ok with me brother! I still have some thumping to do on Morrow's head and I couldn't think of a better place than at the Happening. I get to put a beating on Morrow in front of millions of viewers. Gerry Morrow, I'm going to enjoy every bit of that! See ya there chump! Commercial Break "The Great" Gagne w/Bodyguard Duker vs. Todd Rooney Gagne just toys with his opponent. Duker even gets a forearm blast in for the fun of it. Gagne swings Rooney to the ropes and hits a high dropkick for the win. Gagne cuts a promo on his upcoming match with Curt Hennig at the Happening. He says Curt was coddled by his father and is nothing but a little Daddy's boy. Commercial Break Billy Jack Strong vs. Kendo Nagasaki w/Curtis Iaukea Kendo attacks at the bell and works over Strong with several thrusts, chops, kicks and chokeholds. Kendo swings Strong to the ropes and goes for a back drop but Strong kicks him. Strong regroups. Kendo staggers up, Strong grabs him and executes an overhead German Suplex. Strong picks up Kendo and hits a delayed vertical suplex. Strong swings off the ropes but Iaukea nails Strong with a kendo stick shot to the back! The Ref signals for the DQ. Kendo staggers up. Iaukea tosses him the kendo stick. Kendo hits Strong several times with the stick. Kendo hops on the middle ropes. Iaukea runs in, picks up Strong and holds him while Kendo crashes down with a kendo stick shot to the head! They exit and leave behind a bloody Steve Strong. Commercial Break USWA Tag Team Champs The Bruise Brothers vs. Vic Dutro and Willie Lopez "Boogie Fever" blasts over the speakers and the fans know what that means. Mega pop as the champs head down the aisle. Bruise Brothers are on fire tonight. Cash tags in Snowman. Cash hits Lopez with a jumping headbutt. Lopez spins around, Snowman hoists him up and hits a running powerslam for the win! Cheers as they head to the podium. Lance: Alright, you guys will be defending against Bodacious at the Happening. I'm sure you heard Vinnie's comments last week. Cash: We heard them alright. You know Lance, the Bruise Brothers love to have a great time. We have a lot of fun and we like to get down. But make no mistake about it, when that bell rings we're all business. Snowman: Bodacious, we hope you know what you're getting yourselves into. Vinnie talked a big game and says you boys are taking home the gold. Yea, great plan until that bell rings. Then it's all Bruise Brothers! Count on it! Cash and Snowman high five and hold the titles up to the cheering fans. Commercial Break The camera zooms in on the pink "Beauty Shop" sign then pans down to Brenda Britton. Brenda is standing at the end of a long red carpet. Brenda is smiling and wearing an elegant dress. Britton: Hi everybody and welcome to the number one rated segment in wrestling the Beauty Shop. Can you feel the excitement? I sure can. I couldn't sleep at all this week. Look at this dress! Don't I wear it well. I had to look my best because tonight, myself and all of you will be in the presence of a King. Not just any King but the true King of professional wrestling. Just a reminder, I did what nobody in the USWA could do. I booked the King on my show! I know you all are dying to meet him. So...without further adieu, it is my upmost privilege to introduce to you, the true King of professional wrestling, the one and only ROY LEE WELCH! The Elvis version of Also Sprach Zarathustra plays The curtains open and Welch walks out. He's wearing a crown, cape and holding a scepter. He stops and slowly turns around. Did the USWA really think I would make my long awaited debut by talking with Lance Russell? Not a chance. Brenda, you are the one. Now, I want to tell all these ingrates out here that the King deserves respect. From them, the USWA and all the wrestlers. I'm a King and I deserve it. They should all be bowing down to me. They should be thanking me as well. There once was an imposter walking around here claiming to be a King. I'm talking about that phony Jerry Lawler. These idiots cheered that so called King and where is he now? Gone! So I've come here to show the wrestling world what a true King is all about. Britton: Well, I certainly respect you and let me be the first to thank you. Jerry Lawler was nothing but a jester. Welch: (laughs) Well put Brenda. You really are a class act and by the way, you look stunning tonight. Brenda: Oh my thank you! As do you. That crown fits you so well. Now, you being a King and the real deal. Welch: He said King, I want you to do me a favor and win a match for the Gipper. Britton: Wow! He said that? That's unbelievable! Welch: It is, isn't it. So that's exactly what I'm going to do. Morrow puts his Billionaire's title on his shoulder and heads to the podium. Morrow: Lance, right now you would think I would be ecstatic about getting to beat up Poorman Johnson at de Happening. However, I'm sure you heard de bad news. My best friend Carl Fergie is going through most difficult times. He was swindled out of his fortunes, was severely beaten up and is now in de hospital. Carl, do not worry, your medical bills will be taken care of. I have to go visit him. That's what friends do. Something you know nothing about. Lance: Um..ah..ok, we'll be right back. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, I have a surprise for you. Please welcome back to the USWA, Dutch Mantel and Bobby Jaggers, the Kansas Jayhawks. Big cheers as the Jayhawks come out wearing jeans, western style shirts and cowboy hats. Lance: Welcome back. So what brings you to the USWA? Jaggers: Lance, it's all about the gold! Dutch: That's right! It feels so good to be back and you can bet we're coming after the titles! Lance: Well, with your resume, I'm sure you'll get that opportunity very soon. BOOOOS as KARACHI VICE comes out Makhan: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What makes you two so special that you can walk right in and demand a title shot? Gama: Brother Makhan is right! You have done nothing to earn it. Karachi Vice held the titles for 9 months! We are the ones who deserve the shot...not you! Lance: Relax gentlemen. Just take it easy. Dutch: We're not looking for a hand out. We'll earn the shot. What do you say boys? You want a match with us? Gama: What a joke! We don't have to earn anything. We take! Lance jumps back as Karachi Vice attacks the Jayhawks! Fists are flying as the 4 men fight all around the podium! Security runs out to contain things as a commercial hits. Commercial Break Lance: My goodness, that was explosive. I understand Jerry Jarrett will be out here in a moment. While we're waiting for him, I want to show you some footage from the big press conference earlier this week to hype up the huge international match at the Happening between TV Champ Tony St. Clair and the Mexican UWA champ El Canek. Reporters are in the audience taking pictures and asking questions. Up front, behind a long table, sits several officials, promoters and Les Thornton. St. Clair sits with his TV title in front of him. Canek is sitting behind his UWA title. An official is saying this will be a very special international match between 2 dominant champions. Neither title will be on the line. Canek and St. Clair talk about the match, then Les Thornton speaks. Les: Tony and myself have the upmost respect for El Canek. Canek is very well known throughout the wrestling world. With his tremendous credentials and accomplishments, this will no doubt be the greatest victory for Tony St. Clair. Canek is gifted but he's no match for Mr. St. Clair. That draws some boos. Canek even stands up. Which brings St. Clair up. Officials separate them. Les: We came here for a friendly press conference to promote this great match and this man is already resorting to violence. Don't worry, you will get your wish. Just remember one thing, you're stepping into the ring with a man who is simply the best. Not that he has anything left to prove, but Mr. St. Clair will soundly defeat this man. El Canek is truly talented but his skills pale in comparison to Mr. St. Clair. That will be all. Good day. Commercial Break Lance: Ok, I'm with Jerry Jarrett. Jerry go ahead. Jarrett: Lance, I've seen enough. Things have got to be resolved! First up, at the Happening, the Kansas Jayhawks will meet Karachi Vice. They wanted a match, well they got one. Next up, also at the Happening, Carlos Colon, The Stomper and Billy Jack Strong will take on Kamala, Mark Lewin and Kendo Nagasaki in a 6-Man Steel Cage elimination match! That's right, it will be survival of the fittest. Before I announce the next match, I want Tully Blanchard to get out here and now. Boos as Tully and Baby Doll steadily walk to the podium. Tully: Jarrett, let's get one thing straight. Don't ever threaten me again. You got that? It's not my fault Dick Slater is to weak to be in this business. It's not my fault he couldn't hack it and had to vacate his Mid America title. The man should just stay home. He isn't cut out for this. Jarrett: Well, I've spoken to Dick Slater and we came to an agreement. I think you'll want to hear this announcement. At the Happening, there will be another steel cage match. Only this one will be a taped fist, tornado street fight cage match. It's going to be the Fabulous Ones and Dick Slater taking on the Fullers and you Tully Blanchard! The fans go nuts! Tully is throwing a tantrum! Baby Doll is trying to calm him down. Tully: You cant do this! You hear me Jarrett! Jarrett: I can and I did! Jarrett walks out. Lance is watching Tully throw a fit. The Fullers come out and calm Tully down. Rob: Tully, Tully, Tully. Don't worry about a thing Son. The Fullers got your back. Tully calms down and walks out with the Fullers. Lance: Oh my what a blockbuster announcement. Two steel cage matches set for the Happening. Fans, our main event when we come back. Commercial Break The Spoiler vs. Super Destroyer w/Paul Jones The bell rings and the fight is on. Nothing pretty as they just club away at each other. The fight spills to the outside. They fight all around the ring as the Ref reaches the 10 count. Both men are counted out but keep fighting. Spoiler knocks Super D down. Jones sneaks up behind Spoiler but Spoiler turns around and clamps on the claw! Jones is flailing, Super D runs over but Spoiler hurls Jones into him. Commercial Break Lance: Fans, what a show. A lot of major announcements regarding the Happening. Next week both Dusty Rhodes and the USWA world champ Terry Funk will be here. I... Super Destroyer and a disoriented Paul Jones storm the podium. Jones starts to talk with his back turned and Super D turns him around and steadies him. Jones: Spoiler! (holds his head) Spoiler! You've embarrassed me for the last time. Now I'm going to do something that will embarrass you. Something that you'll never be able to live down. At the Happening, you and my Super Destroyer will lock horns but that's not good enough. We challenge you to a mask vs. mask match! Rest assured Spoiler, number one Paul Jones and the Super Destroyer will get the last laugh! Mark my words! The world is going to see your ugly face exposed! Jones wobbles away as the Super D helps him to the back. Lance: Paul Jones upping the stakes at the Happening. My goodness. Quick comments from both men, and you can already tell it's gonna be another good one!! Adrenaline Rush is a great name, and as always you never fail to build a stacked tag division! The Stud Stable outsmart The Fabulous Ones, which probably wasn't that hard... but the Studs are quickly turning themselves into one of the most hated acts in the USWA. When the Fabs do get their revenge, the fans are gonna go wild! Loving the Rocky Johnson push, and the feud with Morrow. Still amazed at what you've done with Morrow. Already looking forward to their match at The Happening!! Fucking Gagne... Damn! Iaukea and Nagasaki put the beatdown on BJS! Glad I sent Nagasaki your way, he fits in perfectly with the Iaukea Army. I'm sure Strong will be looking for revenge real soon! Bruise Brothers! They make short work of some scrubs and then tell Bodacious how it is! Love this team, and them feuding with the Vin Family could be a lot of fun!! The King has arrived!! Man, I can only imagine the heat that the crowd would have given Welch for this. I mean, Lawler could have piledriven Santa Claus in these parts and people would have cheered him, so this guy calling himself the King... Yeah, instant heat! "Win a match for the Gipper" got a big laugh from me. Good Stuff. LOL. People give Morrow such a hard time, but look at this, Heart of Gold on that man! Going to visit his hard luck buddy in the hospital. That is what friends do Lance! The Kansas Jayhwaks arrive in the USWA fresh off of beating up Percy Pringle, and they immediately make friends with the former champions Karachi Vice! This should be a fun little fight when it happens! Thornton is running his mouth against an unknown commodity in Canek. Hopefully St. Clair can back it up. If not, at least "The Reign" isn't at stake. Holy Crap!! Iaukea's Army vs Colon/Stomper/Strong in an elimination cage match!! AND Slater and The Fabs vs Tully and The Stud Stable also in the cage!! Good God Man! You are certainly making The Happening a.... happening! (I see what you did there!!) and if all that isn't enough, Spoiler vs Super D... Mask vs Mask!!
