The bell rings several times and the tournament is set to begin.

"Superstar" Bill Dundee and "Exotic" Adrian Street w/Miss Linda

What a match to kick things off. The ring is full of colorful and charismatic characters. Winners of the match- John Tatum and Jack Victory

Lance: Well I can't say it was a clean win but the Texas tag team champions John Tatum and Jack Victory will advance in the tournament. Fans, I think that match has set the tone for this tournament. This next match has a bit of history for our Texas fans. Should be a hard hitting contest.

Opening round match

The Cartel (Ricky Santana and Fidel Sierra) vs. The South Pacific Connection (Siva Afi and Cocoa Samoa)

The feud between Cocoa Samoa and Jose Estrada is still fresh in the Texas fans minds. Thanks to the Cartel, Estrada was able to send Cocoa out of Texas. The tournament odds were with Cocoa as he gets a chance for some payback tonight.

Siva and Cocoa are in the ring pacing back and forth. Boos as the Cartel stroll down the aisle. Fidel actually has a cigar. Santana is laughing and pointing up at Cocoa. Fidel takes his cigar and throws it up at Cocoa. The fans go wild as Siva and Cocoa dive over the top rope and down on the Cartel! Siva hammers away on Santana and Cocoa pummels Fidel. They hurl them back in the ring. The Ref backs them up so he can officially start the match. The Cartel finally stagger up and are furious. They shout at the Ref to start the match. The Ref signals for the bell. The Cartel charge over but The SPC are ready and once again pound away on them. Siva punches Santana to the corner as Cocoa does the same to Fidel in the opposite corner. Siva and Cocoa hop up on the turnbuckles and pound down on Santana and Fidel, then hit stereo monkey flips. The Cartel stagger up in the middle of the ring. Siva and Cocoa dropkick them into each other. The Ref finally gets control.

Cocoa is still reeling on the apron. Santana helps Fidel up. Fidel swings Siva to the corner and follows with a running clothesline. Fidel moves and Santana hits a running clothesline. Fidel drags Siva to the corner and the Cartel unload with punches and kicks. The Ref is warning them but they continue the onslaught. Cocoa is rejuvenated, runs over and unloads. He headbutts Santana through the ropes, then drops Fidel with a headbutt before going back to his corner. Fidel staggers up but Siva rolls under his legs and tags in Cocoa.

Cocoa unloads on Fidel but Fidel gauges his eyes. Fidel swings Cocoa to the corner and follows but Cocoa hops up on the turnbuckles and comes back with a flying press 1..2..3!!! Santana tried to run in but Siva stopped him with a dropkick. Huge Pop!

Winners of the match- The South Pacific Connection

Lance: Now I know that was a very satisfying win for Cocoa, and by that applause, these Texas fans feel the same way. The South Pacific Connection will advance. Fans, we're only two matches in and the action has been non stop. Ok, we're set for our next match.

The Rock n Roll RPMs vs. The Highwaymen

Duncum and Hickerson enter the ring wearing their long trench coats and cowboy hats. They look focused and mean. Cheers as the RPMs hit the ring wearing their trademark spandex attire. The RPMs don't look as confident tonight. Word has it that they really took that TV loss to the Rose Cousins pretty hard.

As the match progresses, it's obvious the RPMs just don't have it together. On the flip side, the Highwaymen are on their A game. The opening moments is all Highwaymen. RPMs make a bit of a comeback and start to build some momentum. That comes to an abrupt halt when Hickerson blasts Lane with a clothesline to the back of the head. Duncum clotheslines Davis over the top rope. Hickerson hoists Lane up as Duncum hops on the middle ropes. They hit the Spike piledriver! 1..2..3!

Winners of the Match- The Highwaymen

Lance: My goodness! The Highwaymen made relatively short work of the RPMs. Very dominating performance as the Highwaymen advance in the tournament. I'll be keeping an eye on those two tough hombres, that's for sure. This next match should be another hard hitting affair. Let's go back to the ring.

Central States Tag Team Champs The Bruise Brothers vs. The Moondogs w/Sir Oliver Humperdink

Lance was right, this one's hard hitting. Even Humperdink keeps his distance. Bruise Brothers are on fire during the opening minutes. Cash swings Spot to the ropes, kicks him in the gut and executes a gut wrench suplex, then swings off the ropes and hits a knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Cash tags in Snowman. Snowman swings Spot to the ropes and clotheslines him down. Rex runs in and gets clotheslined down. Snowman tags in Cash, they swing Spot to the ropes and hit a double back elbow smash. Cash follows with an elbow drop 1..2..Rex breaks it with a stomp.

Spot rolls over and tags in Rex. Rex swings Cash to the corner and follows with a shoulder thrust, then follows with several shoulder thrusts. Rex pulls Cash out and executes a backbreaker. Rex rolls Cash over on his stomach. Rex goes to the middle ropes and comes down with a splash to the back. Rex tags in Spot. Rex hits another backbreaker on Cash and holds him as Spot hits a leg drop from the middle ropes 1..2..Snowman breaks it. The Ref guides Snowman back. Spot hits Cash with several rabbit punches to the back. Spot applies a Boston Crab! Spot wrenches away. Humperdink is yelling at the Ref to ring the bell. Snowman and the fans start to fire Cash up. Cash uses all his strength and grabs the ropes. Spot wrenches until the Ref hits a 4 count. Spot tags in Rex. Rex picks up Cash and slams his head on the turnbuckle. The fans go crazy as Cash hits his own head on the turnbuckle several times, grabs Rex and puts him down with a headbutt, then leaps over and tags in Snowman.

Snowman unloads on Rex, swings him to the ropes and flips him over with a knee to the mid section. Snowman jumps up and hits Rex with a double stomp to the mid section. Spot runs in but Snowman mows him over with a shoulder block. Rex staggers up winded, Snowman grabs him and hits a running powerslam 1..2..3!

The fans cheer as the Bruise Brothers celebrate. After a minute, they wave to the fans and start to exit.

WHAM! The Moondogs nail them with their bones from behind. The fans boo as Humperdink raises the Moondogs arms while they hold up their bones.

Winners of the Match- The Bruise Brothers

Lance: Bruise Brothers advance with a hard fought victory over the Moondogs. However, Humperdink and the Moondogs get the last shot in. I see the Bruise Brothers getting up, so that's a good sign. I'm sure Sir Oliver is real pleased with himself and his Moondogs. What a poor sport. Fans, I see extra security is coming out for this next match and I'm sure I know why. Things could get ugly here in Texas.

Opening Round Match

Continental Tag Team Champs Tommy and Johnny Rich vs. The Tribal Nation (Mark and Chris Youngblood)

THUNDERING BOOOOOOOS! The Rich's arrogantly walk down the aisle with huge smiles on their faces. You wouldn't know there was extra security with all the garbage being thrown at the Rich's. They enter the ring and the boos go to an all time high when the fans notice they're holding yellow roses. Security have to hold several fans back from running into the ring. It's a madhouse! More garbage and beer is thrown at the Rich's. Tommy grabs the mic.

"Now hold on! My cousin Johnny and I came to this dump for some friendly competition. I should of known this would happen. You people should be bowing down to us. You know why? Because we represent family values, unlike the good ol Von Erich boys.

Things are getting really tense.

"We're here to fill that void. You know, the Von Erich void...

Before Tommy can finish, the Tribal Nation hits the ring. The Ref quickly signals for the bell.

The fans are going wild as the Tribal Nation are all over the Rich's. They double dropkick Tommy out of the ring. Mark picks up Johnny and atomic drops him. Johnny staggers into a chop by Chris. Mark slams Johnny, then picks up Chris and drops him as Chris lands with a leg drop on Johnny. The Ref guides Chris to the corner. Mark swings Johnny to the corner and follows with a running elbow to the head then tags in Chris. Mark holds Johnny while Chris crashes down with a tomahawk chop to the head. Chris swings Johnny to the ropes and hits a high back drop. The fans are loving every minute. Johnny bounces over and tags in Tommy.

Tommy runs in but gets chopped down by Chris. Chris picks up Tommy. Mark sticks his boot out and Chris slams Tommy's head on it. Chris tags in Mark. Chris hoists Tommy up in a suplex position and Mark fly's off with a press 1..2..Johnny breaks it. Chris pounds Johnny back to the corner. Mark and Chris swing Tommy to the ropes and put him down with a double chop. Mark picks up Tommy and atomic drops him into the corner, then tags Chris. Chris swings Tommy to the ropes and puts him down with a shoulder block. Chris picks up Tommy but Tommy rakes his eyes. Tommy swings Chris to the ropes and Johnny (from the apron) nails Chris with a forearm blast to the back. Chris staggers forward and Tommy hits him with the Thesz Press. Tommy reaches out and holds Johnny's hands as the Ref counts 1..2..3! Mark is a second to late. Johnny pulls Tommy out of the ring. Mark and the fans are telling the Ref what happened but the Ref didn't see it.

Thundering boos!

Winners of the Match- Tommy and Johnny Rich

Lance: The Rich's advance but I think they're just lucky to get out of here alive. Oh wait a minute, hold on. I think you boys better get out of here while you can.

Johnny: I don't know what's with these people? Like Tommy said, we're your family now. And this family won't abandon you. Things just got better around here.

Place goes into full on riot mode when the Rich's start singing "The Yellow Rose of Texas"

Mass Security escorts the Rich's out.

Lance: I've never seen a place erupt like this. We're going to have to get things calmed down before we get to our final match. (Looking around at the intense scene) Well fans, it's been a night filled with action and chaos. I don't think that's going to change as we get ready for our next match, but first we better take a time out to let things cool down.

Lance: Ok fans, let's go to the ring.

USWA Tag Team Champs The Karachi Vice vs. The Fabulous Ones

Karachi Vice and The Fabs are in the ring when Gama grabs the mic.

"Forget about all the previous hostility. That is not what the Karachi Vice Invitational is all about. It's about true tag team competition and nobody knows more about that than brother Makhan and myself. We've held these titles for 9 months and tonight we get to show the world why we are the best tag team in wresting. I want to extend our deepest condolences to these young men opposing us. I'm sorry your stay in our tournament will be a short one. In the meantime, let's show all these great fans what the Karachi Vice Invitational is all about. Shall we?"

The Ref signals for the bell.

Boos as Gama and Makhan extend their hands for sportsmanship. The Fabs look out to the fans. They shrug and put out their hands. Karachi Vice shakes them. As the Fabs turn around, Karachi Vice attack them from behind. Boos as Karachi Vice pound away. Gama pounds Keirn into the corner as Makhan pounds Lane into the opposite corner. Karachi Vice swings the Fabs into each other but Lane leapfrogs over Keirn and rocks Gama with a punch. Keirn nails Makhan with a running clothesline in the corner. The Fabs swing Karachi Vice into each other as they collide. Makhan staggers against the ropes. The Fabs send him out in the floor with a double clothesline! Gama staggers up and Lane nails him with a superkick! Before Gama falls, Keirn grabs him and hits a German Suplex 1..2..3!!!!!!

The fans are up and cheering!!!!

Winners of the Match- The Fabulous Ones

Lance: (laughing) Well how about that! The Fabulous Ones have advanced with a win over the current USWA tag team champions. I don't think the Karachi Vice were expecting this. Talk about a stunner. Listen to this crowd. Fans, what a tremendous first set of matches. The teams advancing are John Tatum and Jack Victory, The South Pacific Connection. The Highwaymen, The Bruise Brothers, The Rich's and now the Fabulous Ones. And this is only the beginning. Stay tuned as Marc Lowrance and Texas All-Star will bring you the next series of opening round matches. Then tomorrow, Charlie Platt and Ronnie P Gossett will host the second round matches. So far the David Von Erich Memorial Tag team tournament has been nothing short of exciting. I'll see you on Sunday.

Alright folks, that's enough talking from me, let's get to some action as the first round of the tournament continues!

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Nightmares (Ken Wayne/Danny Davis) vs The Kansas Jayhawks (Dutch Mantell/Bobby Jaggers) w/Percival Pringle III-

These four didn't waste any time with fancy lock ups or waiting for the bell to ring, they went right at it! The Jayhawks attempted to Pearl Harbor the Nightmares, but Percy screaming "Get 'Em, Get 'Em" may have given it away and The Nightmares caught them coming and we had a pier six brawl right off the bat. All four men spilled out to the floor and continued throwing punches and were nearly counted of the ring, but Wayne tossed Mantell back into the ring at the count of eighteen and they became the legal men.

The match settled into a standard back and forth affair after that with both teams taking the advantage at different times. The Jayhawks nearly picked up a win just after the five minute mark after scoring with a double suplex on Danny Davis, but Ken Wayne broke up the pin. The Nightmares hit Mantell with a double back body drop around eight minutes in, and Ken Wayne made the cover, but Percy Pringle put the foot of Mantell on the bottom rope to save the match. The end came when Davis attempted to whip Jaggers into the ropes, but Jaggers reversed it and Pringle reached in to grab the leg of Davis but missed. Davis stomped down on the hand of Pringle who cried out in pain, then Jaggers charged in at Davis, who sidestepped him, and then when Jaggers rebounded off the ropes, Davis rolled him up for the One, Two, Three.

Winners, advancing to Round 2: The Nightmares (Ken Wayne/Danny Davis)

Marc Lowrance: One of the top teams from Continental Wrestling, Danny Davis and Ken Wayne, The Nightmares have advanced in the tournament and given Percy Pringle a sore hand in the process! There appears to be some dissension in the ranks of the Pringle Dynasty!

Pringle is in the ring clutching his hand and stomping his feet as Mantell and Jaggers look pissed off at being caught with the roll up victory. Finally Pringle yells out "I told you two buffoons not to let me down!" Then he shoves Bobby Jaggers with his good hand. It only takes about half a second before Dutch Mantell lashes out with a right hand that knocks Pringle on his ample backside, and then Jaggers lands a kick to the face that lays Percy out flat in the center of the ring.

Marc Lowrance: Well, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. The Jayhawk are out of the tournament, but I think they just made a whole lot of new fans. Ladies and Gentleman, we will be right back with more Texas All Star Wrestling!

-Commercial Break-

Marc Lowrance: Welcome back folks! Next up we have two popular tag teams going at it as The Technicians of Bob Roop and Brad Rheingans from the USWA meet Steve and Scott Armstrong from Continental. This should be an exciting match up of four fine athletes. Let's head down to the ring as the tournament continues.

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Technicians (Brad Rheingans/Bob Roop) vs The Armstrongs (Steve Armstrong/Scott Armstrong)-

This one began with all four men shaking hands in the center of the ring, and then turned immediately into a hotly contested tag team contest. Rheingans started off with Scott and appeared to be taking him a little lightly and came away a bit shocked when he was able to keep up with him on the mat. Roop was tagged in, as was Steve and the same thing happened with the Armstrongs proving that there father taught them well and that while the Technicians may be technical wrestling experts, the Armstrongs weren't just two punk kids.

What followed was a fifteen minute master class in professional wrestling, with Roop and Rheingans digging deep into their arsenal of suplexes and amateur skills and submissions, while both Scott and Steve used the speed and athleticism they had over the other two men to their advantage to keep in the game. The end of the match came when Bob Roop being the cagey veteran that he is, changed the pace of everything as Scott Armstrong bent down for a back body drop. Instead of going over for a sunset flip, or around for a roll up as had been the ebb and flow of the rest of the match, Roop grabbed him, hooked him, and piledrove him right in the center of the ring. Roop then quickly covered for the One, Two, Three and the victory.

After the match Scott and Steve looked momentarily angry, but then realized that they had learned a lesson from a veteran. Hand shakes all around again to end this one.

Winners, advancing to Round 2: The Technicians (Brad Rheingans/Bob Roop)

Marc Lowrance: My goodness Ladies and Gentleman! Those four men gave everything they had in there tonight! The Technicians come away with the victory, but Steve and Scott Armstrong have nothing to hang their heads over. That right there is what professional wrestling is all about! The tournament continues when we return!

Marc Lowrance: Welcome back to Texas All Star Wrestling and the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament on KTVT and the USA Network! Up next we have the Continental team of Brad Armstrong and "Wildcat" Wendell Cooley as they take on the cross promotional team of "Champagne" Gerry Morrow and "Mr. Money" Carl Fergie along with the manager of Fergie, Slick. This team of Morrow and Fergie have been causing quite a stir, but Cooley and Armstrong are former champions. This should be quite a battle. Let's head down to the ring.

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-"Wildcat" Wendell Cooley/Brad Armstrong vs "Champagne" Gerry Morrow/"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie w/Slick-

Morrow and Fergie are quite the spectacle during their entrance, coming to the ring in matching suits, each drinking from a glass of champagne, and Morrow of course has the bottle with him. The Slickster is behind them looking like the cat that ate that canary, no doubt dreaming of all the money to be conned from.... I mean made with these two. As Brad and Wendell are ready for a fight, Morrow and Fergie take a significant amount of time disrobing to reveal matching green trunks with dollar signs on one butt cheek, and champagne glasses on the other. They then do the " No, after you" bit deciding who will go to the apron to start the match, and eventually Morrow concedes and Fergie heads into action against Cooley.

For all the bluster at the beginning of the match, Armstrong and Cooley dominate this one from the opening bell! They work like a well oiled tag team machine as they cut off the ring, make quick tags, and just make life for Carl Fergie a living hell. Finally after what must have seemed like an eternity for Fergie, he was able to rake the eyes of Brad Armstrong and make the tag to Gerry Morrow. Unfortunately for Morrow, he didn't fare a whole lot better as Armstrong took him over with an arm drag as he came in and the Armstrong/Cooley team went back to work.

The ending for this one came just past the twelve minute mark as Armstrong and Fergie were in the ring again, and Slick made his way around the ring away from his men and jumped up on the apron. The referee went over and was arguing with Slick to get off the apron, and soon Wendell Cooley made his way around the turnbuckle and was arguing with both Slick and the referee, and the ref was now being forced to keep the two of them apart. Brad didn't let this bother him and continued to grind down on a headlock on Fergie.

Morrow grabbed the bottle of champagne and headed into the ring. He popped the cork and poured the liquid all over the head of Brad Armstrong, who let go of Fergie and stood up looking quite irate. Morrow flashed him a big smile and just tossed the bottle at him. Brad instinctively caught the bottle, as Morrow quickly got out of the ring. Fergie yelled out "NOO" and then threw himself backwards onto the mat where he landed with a loud thud and his arms splayed at his sides and with his eyes closed. Across the ring, Slick began jumping up and down and pointing for the referee to turn around. When he did, he saw Fergie laid out in the center of the ring and Brad Armstrong clutching a bottle in his hands. The referee immediately called for the Disqualification.

Winners by Disqualification, advancing to Round 2: "Champagne" Gerry Morrow and "Mr. Money" Carl Fergie

Marc Lowrance: This is ridiculous! Slick and Morrow are helping Fergie out of the ring and Fergie is acting like he can barely walk. Armstrong is pleading his case to the referee, but it would appear that Champagne and Mr. Money have stolen this one. Wow. I've seen a lot of low down things in my day, but this just might take the cake. Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back.

-Commercial Break-

Marc Lowrance: Okay, we are back with more tournament action as the Sheepherders with Lord Jonathan Boyd all the way from New Zealand will take on the newest sensation here in Texas All Star Wrestling, "The Candyman" Ray Candy and "Sweet Brown Sugar" Skip Young, the team of Good and Plenty!

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Sheepherders (Butch Miller/Luke Williams) w/Lord Jonathan Boyd vs Good & Plenty ("The Candyman" Ray Candy/"Sweet Brown Sugar" Skip Young)-

Much like the opening match of the evening, this was a fight as soon as the bell rang. The Sheepherders jumped the much larger Candy at the bell and looked to be trying to get him out of the ring, but Sweet Brown Sugar started throwing dropkicks and it didn't take long until Miller and Williams were on the floor. The Sportatorium went absolutely bonkers when Candy lifted his own partner over his head and threw Skip Young over the top rope onto the pile of Miller, Williams, and Boyd on the floor sending them all sprawling!!

Young and Candy stayed on the offensive taking it to Williams in the opening minutes using their combination of speed and power to wear him down with frequent tags and several unique double teams. Miller finally grew tired of this and snuck into the ring clobbering Young with a big shot to the back of the head, and then the Sheepherders took control and worked over Sweet Brown Sugar in their corner. The momentum swung back and forth like this several times with Good & Plenty regaining the advantage, and the Sheepherders cheating to take it back.

The end came when Candy and Miller were the legal men, but all of them were brawling inside the ring, and then soon after all of them were brawling outside the ring. The referee was counting everyone out, then Miller and Young came back into the ring. Candy shoved Williams into the ring post and was heading back into the ring, when Lord Jonathan Boyd cracked him over the head with the flagpole. Candy collapsed into the ring apron, and the referee's count reached 20 before he could recover.

Winners by Count Out, advancing to Round 2: The Sheepherders (Butch Miller/Luke Williams)

Marc Lowrance: The Sheepherders will move on in the tournament thanks to outside interference from Lord Boyd, but my goodness that one was an absolute war from the moment it began. You have to wonder just how much The Sheepherders will have left tomorrow night after a fight like that. Okay Ladies and Gentleman, we still have our main event to come, but up next, oh my...it's The Fiesta Garden.

-Commercial Break-

EKyanrZ.jpg

As the show returns from break we are taken to the small stage away from the ring, where we see the four fake cacti, one at each corner of the stage, each of them wearing a sombrero. On the wall behind the stage is the Fiesta Garden banner that is done up in the colors of the Mexican flag and also has streamers and balloons attached to it. The two green director style chairs sit in the middle of the stage, one with Al Madril's name stenciled on it. Al is of course standing at the front of the stage with a huge smile on his face, behind the chairs dressed tonight in a stylish black karate gi, looking ready to kick some ass is Ron Slinker.

Al Madril: Hola Mi Amigos!! This is it! We finally made it. The Fiesta Garden is officially debuting on the USA Network, and in a few short minutes no one is going to remember what old Britney... No. Barbara? No, that's not it. Bernice? Nope... Ron, do you remember?

Al turns to Slinker with a big smile on his face, and Slinker just slightly shakes his head no.

Al Madril: Ahhh. It doesn't matter. Now that The Fiesta Garden is on the USA Network, no one is going to want to listen some fake blonde, air head, bimbo ramble on about whatever. Because now they have the highest rated segment in the USWA, and the number one show in all of professional wrestling! For those of you who don't know, I am your host Alberto Madril, and the killing machine behind me is the twenty seven time karate champion known as Ron Slinker. Say Hello Ron!

Al turns around with another big smile and looks at Slinker who continues to just stare at him. Madril covers the microphone with his hand, but we can still hear him say "I'll give you an extra hundred." Slinker rolls his eyes but leans forward to the microphone.

Ron Slinker: Hello Ron.

Al Madril: HEYYYY! All Right!! So tonight on The Fiesta Garden we...

Before Madril can continue, former Texas All Star and current USWA competitor Lance Von Erich walks onto the stage wearing blue jeans and a polo shirt. He has a look of determination on his face, but Madril of course greets him with a grin. Ron Slinker steps forward to intercept him, but Madril waves him back.

Al Madril: Heh. So you actually showed up. Alright kid, speak your peace.

Lance Von Erich: Madril, every week you come out here and run your mouth, acting like an arrogant jerk and everyone is sick of it. The things that you've said about Brenda Britton are absolutely disgusting.

Al Madril: You mean like when I called her fake, a rat, and insinuated that she was sleeping with someone to get her job? You think those kind of things are disgusting?

Lance Von Erich: Yes, I do. I think most of the things you say on your stupid Fiesta Garden are just mean spirited crap! I think you think you're some kind of comedian, and I think you only say the things you do because you have someone backing you up all the time.

Al Madril: Is that so?

Lance Von Erich: Yeah. That's so.

Al Madril: That's what you think?

Lance Von Erich: That's what I think.

Al Madril: Okay... Lance Von Erich, how about this..... Hey Slinker, take the rest of the night off.

Slinker looks at Madril confused, but Al nods that he is absolutely sure. Slinker shrugs his shoulders and heads for the dressing room.

Al Madril: Okay hotshot, since Brenda's got you all riled up to come out here, now's your chance. Try to score yourself a date!

Lance Von Erich: Madril, I'm not an idiot. I know Brenda Britton is playing me with that Lancelot stuff. I know she doesn't care about me. But there was something she said, something that got me thinking, and it's the thing that made me come out here tonight.

Al Madril: Oh Yeah? What was that?

Lance Von Erich: She said that someone needed to put you in your place. She said that since it was going to be in Texas, it should be a Von Erich. She said that the Von Erich's are the toughest in all of Texas, and she said that there should be a Von Erich at this tournament.

Al Madril: That's probably true! Did you bring one with you?

Lance Von Erich: I.... what?

Al Madril: I asked if you brought a Von Erich with you?

Lance Von Erich: I am a Von Erich!

Madril makes a "who are you kidding" face at Lance and back a few steps away from him.

Al Madril: Really?

Lance Von Erich: What do you mean really?

Al Madril: Really!

Lance Von Erich: What are you getting at Madril!!

Al Madril: Really....

Lance Von Erich: Yes. Really.

Al Madril: Wow. You are really going to play this to the end aren't you.... Okay, have it your way.

Ron Slinker sneaks up from behind and grabs Lance Von Erich. Madril drop the microphone and moves in and the two of them wrestle him into one of the Fiesta Garden chairs. Madril produces a pair of handcuffs out of his jeans and they handcuff the hands of Lance Von Erich behind his back and shove a rag in his mouth to gag him, and then Slinker pretty much holds him down in the chair, as Lance continues to try to escape. Madril seems to have something in his hand as he goes back and gets his microphone.

Al Madril: Okay! Now that you won't be interrupting me, we can continue! You asked what I was getting at? Well let me tell you, stupid gringo. You want to come on my Fiesta Garden and try to be a big hero. You want to try and make yourself look good at my expense. Well, let me tell you something Lance. You can't con a con man. I've been around Texas a long time. I knew David Von Erich, I used to team with Kevin and Kerry. So you want to try to get one over on me? Ain't happening essa.

Cause all you people know, whether you like me or not, that I've been around the Von Erichs for a long time. You know how many times they ever mentioned Cousin Lance... Zero! You want to know why that is? Because there is no Cousin Lance! Never was, never will be.

This guy shows up after Kevin and Kerry leave for New York, and after Mike gets sick and claims to be a Von Erich. All of you people were so desperate for a hero, for another Von Erich to cheer that you bought it hook, line, and sinker. But hey it wasn't just you! Morons like Brian Adias, Marc Lowrance, and Frank Dusek took him at face value too. He thought he had the whole thing right where he wanted it....

You were doing great Lance. But then you made the mistake of crossing Alberto Madril, so now the charade is all over.

We can now see that the thing in the hands of Madril is the wallet of Lance Von Erich that he apparently picked out of his pocket during the scuffle. Madril opens it, pulls out the cash which he stuffs into his pocket, and then pulls out something else before tossing the wallet over his shoulder.

Al Madril: Camera man, do me a favor and pull in here real close on Lance Von Erichs wrestling license.

The camera pans in and we can see that the name on the license reads Richard Vaughan. After several moments, Madril turns toward the man in the chair and flicks the license at him.

Al Madril: So Richard Vaughan, now that the whole world knows you're a dirty liar, do you still want to pretend to be so high and mighty... Lancelot!

Ron Slinker lets "Lance Von Erich" go, after which he struggles to spit out the rag, and turns to looks at the eerily quiet Sportatorium crowd. Madril steps forward with a huge shit eating grin on his face and holds the microphone in front of the face of Vaughan who mutters the words "I'm Sorry" before heading, still handcuffed quickly away from the stage and out of the building. Madril busts out laughing and Slinker stands stone faced.

Al Madril: Well, there you have it Ladies and Gentleman! Ricky Vaughan is sorry that he lied to all of you and pretended to be a Von Erich! I think we're done here! Good Night from The Fiesta Garden!!

-Commercial Break-

Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, welcome back to Texas All Star Wrestling. I'm going to be honest with you in that I don't know what to say about what we just saw. Apparently the man we have known as Lance Von Erich is not really a Von Erich, but seeing that the information came from Al Madril, it's hard to take anything as fact. I'm sure more will come of this in the weeks to follow.

In the meantime, it is now time for what will be our main event this evening here on Texas All Star Wrestling, and oh my it is a doozy. Not only is it a tournament match, but it is also a follow up to what happened at our Seasons Beatings show back in December when The Funk Brothers and The Gunlingers met in singles competition. On that night Terry Funk got himself intentionally disqualified against Johnny Mantell, and then later in the night as Dory Funk challenged Scott Casey for the Texas Heavyweight Title, Terry attacked Casey with a branding iron, then Sunshine attacked Terry Funk. When Dory was trying to stop Sunshine from clawing out Terry's eyes, Mantell hit the ring and clobbered Dory with the branding iron, allowing Casey to pick up the victory.

Needless to say, these four men are chomping at the bit to get their hands back on one another, so let's head down to the ring where this one is already about to boil over!

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Funk Brothers (Terry Funk/Dory Funk Jr) vs The Gunslingers (Scott Casey/Johnny Mantell) w/Sunshine-

This started with Terry Funk trying to goad Sunshine into attacking him, but Casey and Mantell were able to hold her back. She did shoot him the bird, which the camera had to quickly cut away from. Dory and Mantell started the match and things were actually fairly technical while they were in the ring. Dory attempting to work over the leg of Johnny, and Mantell showing that he knew the holds and countering Funk much to his chagrin. Eventually Dory got mad and started throwing European style uppercuts that rocked Mantell, and then snapped him over with a butterfly suplex. Dory tagged in Terry, and then things began the slow descent into chaos.

The Funker went right into blasting Mantell with a series of left handed punches to the face, and then as he wound up for a big right hand, Mantell kicked him in the stomach and started blasting away with his own punches. Johnny rocked Terry backwards with several quick shots, and Funk fell backwards so he was sitting on the middle rope. Mantell blasted him with another right, and Terry began rocking back and forth on the ropes like a see saw with each punch. Eventually he tumbled backwards out of the ring to the floor, and Mantell went over and tagged in Scott Casey.

After stumbling around on the floor for a bit, Terry Funk rolled back in and tagged Dory. Dory and Casey went at it for a bit, and things remained pretty even between them. After several minutes of battling, neither seemed to be able to maintain an advantage, but Casey whipped Dory into the ropes and went for a clothesline. Dory was able to duck it and on the rebound attempted a clothesline of his own. The result was both connecting with a clothesline and going down in the center of the ring. Soon the crawl was on, and both men reached their corners at nearly the same time and made tags!

Terry Funk and Johnny Mantell both came into the ring like wild men, throwing haymakers and in a battle of punches, Terry Funk had the edge. When Mantell was wobbling, Terry grabbed him and turned him around, delivering a devastating hangmans neckbreaker. Terry measured him and dropped an elbow, then got up and dropped another one. Sunshine was banging on the apron urging Mantell to get up, so Terry took a detour to throw a kick at her that missed, and then he called her a Cow. Funk headed back over and pulled Mantell off the canvas by the hair, and took him over with a suplex.

With a smile on his face, Terry walked around the prone Mantell and lifted his leg and began to stomp on the knee joint. Each time he did this, he would turn to Sunshine and scream "MOOO" at her, then stomp down on Mantell. Finally he grabbed hold of the leg and looked like he was going to go for the Spinning Toe Hold, but again he turned to Sunshine and yelled, only this time it was "I'm going to break his leg you Heffer!" Funk then turned back and spun around with the Spinning Toe Hold, however Johnny Mantell popped up and hooked the head of Terry Funk and rolled him down into a cradle, hooking his leg on the way through!! The referee dropped quickly down and counted One, Two, Three!!

Winners: The Gunslingers (Scott Casey/Johnny Mantell)

Terry Funk kicks out a split second after the three, and comes to a sitting position with a look of absolute shock on his face. Johnny Mantell quickly rolls out of the ring and joins Sunshine and Scott Casey on the arena floor as the Sportatorium is going absolutely nuts! Dory Funk Jr is shaking his head in the corner as Terry Funk starts throwing a fit in the ring, and drops the referee with a big left hand. His anger is only compounded when he gets too close to the ropes, and Sunshine takes a pitcher of water that was on the timekeepers table and hurls it at him. The Gunslingers and Sunshine head away from the ringside area as Terry Funk hangs over the top rope, with his feet kicking in the air, trying to get at them.

Marc Lowrance: It is pandemonium in the Sportatorium! The Gunslingers have eliminated the USWA World Heavyweight Champion from the tournament! We are nearly out of time, so be sure to tune in tomorrow morning when our friends from Continental Wrestling will finish out the first round of the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament from right here in the Sportatorium, and then tomorrow night at the Reunion Arena and live on the USA Network for the Second Round. Ladies and Gentleman, that's all for Texas All Star Wrestling this week. We thank you so much for joining us, for those of you who watch us on KTVT, we'll see you in two weeks for our next show. Until then, I'm Marc Lowrance, Good Night Everyone.

Kudos to the USWA... this tournament is awesome.

I was doing great at my predictions for the USWA side of the tourny but I think I got every match wrong on the Texas side of the card.

The USWA has a lot of tough teams left.... I could be completely off base again but I think the USWA has 4 really strong teams left with the Highway Man, Johnny & Wildfire, The Bruise Brothers and The Fab Ones.  I could really see the Texas crowd going after Johnny and Tommy.  They just continue to push the envelop here.

As for Texas All Star Wrestling.... WHAT A FIESTA GARDEN.  Can't wait to see how Lance .... I mean Ricky Vaugh responds.

Texas has some great heel team left but would love to see the Gunslingers do well as they seem to be the heart of the promotion.  BIG BIG WIN here over the Funks.

Okay.... even here in the DVE Memorial Tourny you got to keep on teasing me.  WHO IS LUSCIOUS?

I like the girls in the Yellow Rose jackets showing off the trophy. Great touch!

I am picturing the reaction of Tatum and Victory when Street blew them a kiss and can see it perfectly! Damn, quite the contest between these two teams and it looked like Dundee and Street had the match well in hand until things broke down at the end. Tatum uses the distraction to put Street down, and the Texas Tag Team Champions move on to Round 2!!

Loving Sierra coming out with the cigar to try and get Cocoa off his game, but it seems to have backfired spectacularly as the SPC are on it tonight!! The Cartel does some damage, but in the end, I think Cocoa Samoa saw his chance for some revenge and there was no stopping him in this one!!

YEAH! My boys The Highwaymen make short work of the RPM's! Good riddance to them, and may arguably my best contribution to this game have a wonderful run in the tournament!

Hard hitting war between The Moondogs and my favorite team in the USWA, The Bruise Brothers. This definitely looked like it could go either way until the very end, but Snowman and Porkchop show superior team work and put away Rex to advance to the next round! Moondogs take a cheap shot at the end, and we'll have to see if that effects The Bruise Brothers as the tournament continues.

Aww Shit.... here comes the Rich Cousins.....

and Tommy immediately tries to get the whole tournament shut down by getting murdered by the fans!!

Tommy and Johnny take quite the ass whipping before cheating for the victory and then continuing to instigate things. Oh my... these two are going to cause trouble all weekend!

Well, if anything could potentially placate the anger of the fans after that, The Fabulous Ones absolutely embarrassing Karachi Vice in the last match of the evening would probably do the trick!

Great Start to the tournament Spaldoni! I'm really glad we all decided to do this!!

Texas takes the baton and runs with it!

Opening match gets the fans going as the Nightmares and Jayhawks tear into each other. Pringle's interference backfires and Nightmares keep the momentum going to gain the victory. Big win for the Nightmares and Continental. Pringle's temper gets the best of him as he slaps Jaggers. LOL big mistake! Jayhawks might of walked in as heels but defiantly got over with the fans on the way out. Fun way to start the show.

One thing I like about tournaments is matches like the Technicians vs. Armstrongs. Great fast paced technical match up. Roop's experience comes into play and the Technicians advance. I like the little moment at the end when the Armstrongs took it as a lesson to learn from. Good sportsmanship. In the midst of all these chaotic brawls, this was a refreshing change of pace.

LOL, on the USA network, we knew we would get a Luscious spot. I'm loving the suspense.

Morrow, Fergie and Slick's entrance and ring gear was, well priceless. This didn't seem to faze Cooley and Armstrong as they come out swinging. Fantastic showing by Cooley and Armstrong until we get one of the all time best finishes. The champagne bottle comes into play but this time doesn't actually shatter. LOL what a great finish. Fergie should get an academy award for that selling.

Happy fan favorites Good and Plenty go up against the violent Sheepherders. I was looking forward to this intriguing match up. They put on a very entertaining match. Boyd spoils everything with a flagpole shot on the Candyman. Good and Plenty stay strong while the Sheepherders advance. Other teams better be on the look out for Boyd.

HAHAHA! YES! Here we go, the Fiesta Garden. I'm sure the USA network scored high in this segment. LOL, Al even gets Slinker to say "Hello Ron" Al takes advantage of the wider audience and tears into poor Brenda. That comes to a stop when Lancelot comes out. Lance gives Al a piece of his mind but we all know Al gets the last word. Al and Slinker do a number and handcuff and gag Lance. Al goes off and takes away all of Lance "Von Erich's" credibility. Man, that was a verbal assault. The license topped it all off. I couldn't stop laughing when Lance apologized and rushed out while still handcuffed. LOL nice touch! After this, I'm not sure if Brenda will want anymore of this. Unless she can get somebody like Greg Gagne to fight for her.

Show couldn't of ended on a higher note as the Gunslingers upset the Funks to advance! Terry's antics had me rolling. The Gunslingers were already the top babyfaces but this win catapults them to a whole new level. They have to be considered favorites to win it now. I know Sunshine loved this. Oh man, how will this effect Terry in his upcoming title defense against Dusty????

Awesome first show Bleh.

Can't wait for Gene's shows!

Continental Championship Wrestling Episode #2

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Special

Broadcasting LIVE on the USA Network on Saturday Feb 13, 1986

From: The Sportatorium in Dallas, TX.

Host/Play by Play: Charlie Platt

Co-Host/Color Commentator: Ronnie P. Gossett

Interviewer: Joe Pedicino

Ring Announcer: Rick Stewart

(Show opens with a montage of highlights from the previous first round matches from last night, we then go to the set to our hosts Charlie Platt and Ronnie P. Gossett)

Platt: "Welcome to Continental Championship Wrestling coming from the historic Sportatorium here in Dallas, Texas as bring to you the final matches of the first round of the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament, I'm Charlie Platt alongside Ronnie P. Gossett….and Ronnie, what a great first round it's been so far."

RPG: "It's been amazing and I can only imagine how excited the fans are to have someone as insightful as me here calling the action after sitting through listening to that geriatric Lance Russell and that cure for insomnia Marc Lowrance."

Platt: "The show just started, this is our first impression with the fans watching on USA Network and you have to start the program out speaking ill of our wonderful colleagues from USWA and Texas All Star?"

RPG: "I'm not saying they're bad people….just that Lance Russell is borderline senile and that Marc Lowrance has the enthusiasm and charisma of a funeral director."

Platt: "Anyway, as I was saying….a lot of exciting things have happened so far…we've seen the Fabulous Ones advance by defeating the USWA World Tag Team Champions the Karachi Vice. We've also witnessed John Tatum and Jack Victory the Texas Tag Team Champions advancing, as well as The Bruise Brothers the Central States Tag Team Champions…." (Gossett interupts)

RPG: "Most importantly to me, the Continental Tag Team Champions Johnny and Tommy Rich advanced with an amazing victory over the Indian Express."

Platt: "I believe you mean Tribal Nation."

RPG: "Potato….potatoe."

Platt: "Well perhaps the most exciting result thus far in the first round has been The Gunslingers exciting victory over the USWA World Champion Terry Funk and his brother Dory Funk Jr eliminating them from the tournament."

RPG: "Speak for yourself Platt, I was not at all excited about that….it was quite disgraceful how that harlot Sunshine distracted the champ costing the Funks the victory….and speaking of disgraceful, I was absolutley appalled when those two lowlifes from Kansas assaulted their very own manager, my good close personal friend Percival Pringle the third."

Platt: "Well, clearly we weren't watching the same show……Percy brought that on himself."

RPG: "First of all, you don't know him well enough to call him, Percy…..Second of all, he had every right to do what he did after those two losers embarassed him here in front of these awful Texans…..but none the less, if you want to talk about the most exciting thing we've seen thusfar in this tournament, it has to be the incredible victory of 'Mr. Money' Carl Fergie and Gerry Morrow over Brad Armstrong and Wendell FOOLEY!  I'm going on record right now…those two gentlemen will run the table and win this whole thing!"

Platt: "I found that to be a disgusting display….but that's enough talking from us, let's get to the action and finish out the first round and see who else will advance in the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament."

=====================

MATCH #1:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 1

The Dynamite Duo (Brickhouse Brown/Norvell Austin)

vs.

High Fly'n Fever (Greg Gagne/Joe Savoldi)

The team of Gagne/Savoldi were not well received here in Texas while Brickhouse and Norvel got a very warm reception as they made their way to the ring to the tune of Jermain Jackson's 'Dynamite'.  A fast paced match to start but eventually Gagne/Savoldi took control and slowed things down while taking the heat on Austin for several minutes until he got the "hot tag" on Brickhouse who managed to get the pin on Joe Savoldi with a sunset flip.

Winners:
The Dynamite Duo

========================

A promotional video airs about tomorrow's non-tournament matches featuring Dick Slater vs. Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll for the USWA Central States title as well as Terry Funk defending the USWA World Championship against the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes!

========================

MATCH #2:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 1

The Texas Rangers (Longhorn/Lonestar)

vs.

The Fabulous Blondes (Eric Embry/Steve Regal)

w/Luscious Johnny V.

(Buddy Landel joins Platt and Gossett for commentary on this one…some of his highlights include: "You know I have it on good authority that those Texas Rangers are actually Kevin and Kerry Von Erich with masks on, they're just too ashamed to show their face around here these days."/ "I was originally going to enter in this tournament and compete without a partner but the USWA ruled it wouldn't be fair to the other teams." / "Platt, you must really be excited to be seen on a national cable channel, this is the closest I've seen you to being sober." / "Embry and Regal are the greatest team in wrestling today, Daddy! They should just go ahead and cut them the check for the hundred grand and save these other teams the embarassment of getting beat."/ You know the only way the USA Network would agree to air this tournament on their channel was if 'Nature Boy' Buddy Landel appeared on the show, so I'm out here right now as a favor to everyone else…you're welcome!"/ "Dusty Rhodes bragged in a recent interview that he's the highest paid wrestler in the USWA, I had no idea Jerry Jarrett paid by the pound.")

The Texas Rangers who were heavily the crowd favorite to say the least dominated the first portion of the match until Johnny V tripped Longhorn coming off the ropes….allowing the Blondes to take over for a bit…however eventually later on in the match, it looked like Lonestar had things well in control and was about to put Embry away but when he went to hit the ropes,  Regal pulled down the top rope sending him crashing to the floor and hitting his head on the ring apron on the way down……Longhorn helped him back in the ring but the damage was done, Embry rolled him up and got the pin

Winners:
The Fabulous Blondes

MATCH #3:
David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 1

The Wild Bunch (Black Bart/'Outlaw' Ron Bass)

vs.

The Devil's Duo (Doug Vines/Jeff Sword) w/Paul Jones

There was bad blood between these teams going into this one….the fans were all over the Devil's Duo as soon as they entered the arena, and Paul Jones did not endear himself to anyone as he was screaming at fans as they came down the aisle…..The Wild Bunch however got a rousing ovation as they made their way down to the ring, as soon as Bart/Bass stepped through the ropes…they were attacked by Sword/Vines and the fight was on….surprisingly the referee called for the bell even though all four men were in the ring fighting…..as the referee was putting Jones out of the ring, Sword tossed Bass out of the ring to the floor, then came up behind Bart and hooked his arms behind his back…..Vines went up to the 2nd rope and came down with a double axe handle but Bart moved and Vines took out his partner! Bart clotheslines Vines out of the ring and quickly covered Sword as the referee turned around just in time to count the 1-2-3!!

Platt: "WOW! The Wild Bunch manages to grab a quick victory here and Paul Jones is beside himself!!"

RPG: "As well he should be….that match never should have been started! All four men were in the ring, why did they ring the bell??"

Platt: "Well, it was the Devil's Duo who jumped the Wild Bunch at the bell so it serves them right!"

Winners:
The Wild Bunch

======================

(We go to the interview area where Joe Pedicino is joined by former AWA World Champion Nick Bockwinkel)

Pedicino: "Mr. Bockwinkel, it's a pleasure to have you here in attendance for this great tournament…what has been your thoughts so far?"

Bock: "Needless to say, it's been nothing short of spectacular….collectively the USWA, Texas All Star, and Continental seem to have the greatest collection of tag teams in the world today. Thirty two tag teams and so far not a bad pairing in the bunch, I obviously didn't expect much out of this Carl Fergie and Gerry Morrow team going in…but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed with the way they were able to manipulate that situation and pull victory from what should have been certain defeat."

Pedicino: "I can't say I was happy, but it was impressive….I had no idea Carl Fergie was such a great actor….however, beyond the tournament I would like to ask you if the rumors are true that you will be competing in the upcoming Continental Heavyweight Championship tournament?"

Bock: "I typically like to play my cards close to the vest, however since this is such an important event and we have fans literally watching from all over via the USA Network, I will take this opportunity to confirm those rumors and tell you that I will in fact be competing for the Continental Championship, I intend to use it as a springboard to the USWA World Championship currently held by Terry Funk."

Pedicino: "That's certainly exciting news and we wish you the best of luck in that endeavor, thanks for joining us here in Dallas and enjoy the rest of the tournament."

======================

MATCH #4:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 1

"Bullet" Bob Armstrong/Terry Taylor

vs.

Bodacious (Chic Donovan/Doug Sommers) w/The Vin Man

Bodacious and the Vin Man make their way down with all three wearing ill fitting cowboy hats to a chorus of boos, all the while waving and smiling as if the fans were cheering. They enter the ring and the Vin Man takes the microphone from the ring announcer.

Vin: "Thank you….thank you! I know you are all excited to see us….I know for weeks and weeks there's been a lot of buzz all across Texas about the big arrival of BODACIOUS for this tournament and don't worry, people have smartened me up to the fact that not only do you want to see Chic and Doug wrestle…what you really want is to hear us sing! Now, I guess we could be mean and make you wait until after match to hear us sing….but I'm sure the guys will be tired after the beating they are going to put on these two losers we're about to wrestle, so guys…let's give 'em what they want…..right now!"

All three gather in the center of the ring with the mic between them, "WE ARE FAM…." Before they can continue, the opening chords of 'Bad to the Bone' hit and the crowd goes wild as 'Bullet' Bob and Terry Taylor make their way to the ring and mercifully interupt the singing….as the Vin Man and Bodacious stomp around the ring completely outraged! Things finally settle down and the match gets started, a pretty basic tag match for the first few minutes until the Vin Man gets caught blatently trying to interfere and the referee throws him out….the crowd has a good time taunting him as he's escorted away from ringside.  Donovan and Sommers use the distraction to take over on Armstrong and work him over for a bit while swapping in and out of the ring while the referee tries to put Taylor back out….Donovan goes for a big elbow drop off the 2nd rope and Armstrong manages to avoid and get the tag to Taylor who comes in "like a house of fire" and ends up landing the 'five arm' on Donovan to get the win!

Winners:
"Bullet" Bob Armstrong/Terry Taylor

MATCH #5

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 1

The Glamour Boys (Steve Doll/Steve Simpson)

vs.

The Stud Stable (Robert Fuller/Jimmy Golden)

'All Hells Breakin Loose' by KISS plays as the Stud Stable, Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden make their way down the aisle in their robes looking quite confident. The Glamour Boys, Steve Doll and Steve Simpson come down to a ton of cheers and screams from the female fans.  Fuller asks for the microphone.

Fuller: "I just want to make something very clear…..my cousin Jimmy and I have come here to Texas to wrestle tonight! Now with a name like the Glamour Boys…..I'm not sure if you're here to fight us….or ask us on a date." (Gives a big grin….Steve Doll grabs the mic)

Doll: "Well…here's a clue!"

With that, Doll punches Fuller right in the face and the fight is on! All four men are fighting in the ring when both Doll and Simpson dropkick Fuller and Golden out of the ring! (Fuller calls "time out" and re-enters the ring with the mic, approaching Steve Simpson this time)

Fuller: "Hang on now….I'm sorry….I'm sorry….we misjudged you. Let's start over." (Holds out his hand for a handshake)

Simpson: "Nope…still here to fight!"

Steve Doll clocks Fuller as well who rolls out to the floor….and is embraced by Jimmy Golden.

Doll: "I'm not sure what you guys came here to do….but we came to wrestle! Now, I know you two are from Tennessee….AND you're cousins….but save that hugging for later!"

The fans start chanting things at Fuller and Golden that would not be acceptable by today's standards and they are FURIOUS…Golden rushes the ring and gets a drop toe hold from Doll….and the Glamour Boys are in firm control of the frustrated Stud Stable for the first half of this match. Fuller and Golden eventually get the advantage but not for long as this was a very even back and forth match for the most part that kept the fans on the edge of their seats……it looked like Simpson was about to get the win when he dove off the top rope with a flying crossbody on Golden who managed to roll through and hook the tights to get the pin!

Winners:
The Stud Stable

======================

RPG: "Great win from the Stud Stable! Those two young punks had the nerve to think they stood a chance against these two veterans?? Not a chance!"

Platt: "Well, they came very close and had Golden not pulled the tights, there might have been a very different outcome. What an amazing first round of action it's been across the board! Please join later tonight as we come to you from Reunion Arena to start the second round tournament action, right in Dallas, Texas!"

and RPG starts us off the right way! I'm glad someone has picked up on the fact that Marc Lowrance is dried than plain white toast! Indian Express and the Percy Pringle stuff had me laughing too!

Dynamite Duo gets a nice win over High Flyin' Fever in the opening contest, which had a nice hot start until Gagne bored it down a bit. Fortunately Savoldi came in and did the job, and the right team advances! Spaldoni threatening to send Gagne to the Fiesta Garden!! PLEASE.... but if you do, I am co-writing it with Gene, and Landel is co-hosting!!

Speaking of Buddy, he does some commentary for the following contest and it is fantastic. The Dusty Rhodes comment made me chuckle loud enough to startle my wife. As for the match, the Rangers give it their best, but some good old fashioned cheating gets the job done and the Fabulous Blondes move on!

Wild Bunch picks up a quick one against the Devils Duo, but something tells me Bart was still pissed off at those guys for being aligned with Killer Brooks way back when! Paul Jones isn't going to be a happy man after that one!

Very excited for Nick Bockwinkel in Continental. I enjoyed writing for Nick a ton, and your interviews are second to none, so I know this is going to be a great fit. He should do very well here.

Bob Armstrong just became the biggest heel in the tournament to me, cutting off "We are Family." I hope Terry Taylor turns on him. Good match here, Bodacious held there own for a while, but Armstrong and Taylor work well together, and the dreaded Five Arm spells the end.

Fantastic banter between the Stud Stable and the Glamour Boys! Loved the line about cousins from Tennessee. Well put together match, and Fuller and Golden will definitely have some good heat with the Texas fans now.

Great first round of the tournament comes to an end. Fantastic show as always, and I look forward to seeing the 2nd Round a little later!!

LOL! RPG doesn't waste any time warming up to a wider audience. Poor Lance and Lowrance. They took some verbal shots.

The matches start on a high note as the Dynamite Duo take down the very charismatic duo (especially Gagne) of High Fly'n Fever. Gagne is going to be mad, so watch out! Dynamite Duo could be the sleeper team in the tournament.

I'm so glad Buddy made an appearance. Very smart move showcasing Buddy and Bock on a major network. I think Buddy and Dusty are going to have to cross paths soon. We could make some money on that match.

My boys the Texas Rangers have a nice showing but those sneaky Fabulous Blonds walk away with the win. Vicious bump by Lonestar.

Devil's Duo make a mistake by trying to brawl with the Wild Bunch. Wild Bunch advance with a dominating win. This was a nice throwback match from their feud in Texas and the Wild Bunch put a final stamp on that. I wonder how Paul Jones will react?

Bock looks like a big deal (as he should) and makes his intentions known. He's competing in the tournament and wants a shot at Funk. Funk vs. Bock needs to happen!

HAHAHA! BOOOOO! Bullet and Taylor totally deprived the fans of a solid cover of 'We are family' by Vin Man and Bodacious. Vinnie getting escorted out was hilarious. Some good fun going on. Cool seeing Taylor get the fall. Don't worry, Vinnie's crew will rebound LOL. I have to say, Bullet and Taylor gelled well.

Stud Stable and Glamour Boys gives us another fun match. Loved the interactions on the mic. Glamour Boys once again prove they can fight but the Stud Stable squeak out the win to advance.

Awesome first show Gene! Nice job with the commentary and in between match promos. Good work.

RPG: "Beautiful Dallas, Texas? Talk about killing your credibility right out of the gate!"

MATCH #1:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The South Pacific Connection (Sivi Afi/Cocoa Samoa)

vs.

"Hollywood" John Tatum/"The New Jersey Heartthrob" Jack Victory w/Dark Journey

Texas All-Star Wrestling Tag Team Champions

The Texas Tag Team Champions heard the boos as they made their way down to the ring.  Tatum took the mic and pointed out, "We're the home team, you people should be cheering us!" which only brought more boos…."I know the real wrestling fans in California and New Jersey are cheering us right…who needs you stupid Texans!" The South Pacific Connection came to ring looking ready for business and didn't pay any mind to the shenanigans of Tatum and Victory.  Sivi/Cocoa controlled the majority of this one until the end when Afi planted Tatum with a bodyslam and ascended to the top rope for the big splash, just as he started to climb, Dark Journey jumped up on the apron yelling at the referee who came over to get her down…..allowing Victory to shove Afi off the top rope sending him crashing to the mat away from Tatum who managed to crawl over and make the cover…..Cocoa Samoa went after Victory just as the referee got Dark Journey down in time to see the cover and count 1-2-3!

Winners:
"Hollywood" John Tatum & "The New Jersey Heartthrob" Jack Victory

MATCH #2:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The Bruise Brothers (Porkchop Cash/Snowman)

vs.

The Highwaymen (Bobby Duncum/Phil Hickerson)

Much like in the opening match of this round, the Texas fans know the Highwaymen and reacted accordingly. The Bruise Brothers once again got a great reception and this one got underway quickly. The Bruise Brothers looked great in the opening minutes of the match until The Highwaymen capaitlized on a mistake by Cash and the spend the next several minutes working him over on their half of the ring….until Duncum climbed up on the 2nd rope and went for a splash, Cash managed to move out of the way and got the tag to the Snowman who came in and started cleaning house on both of the Highwaymen….as the referee was trying to get order restored, Hickerson pulled a chain out of his boot and knocked out the Snowman, he tucked it into his armpit and made the cover, referee Ron West counted 1-2-3!  West went to raise the left arm of Hickerson but he refused and insisted West raise the other arm….the fans are screaming that Hickerson "hit him with a chain"….An argument insues between West and Hickerson when Cash runs over and raises Hickerson's left arm causing the chain to fall to the mat, as soon as West sees this he grabs the chain off the mat and runs over to ring announcer Rick Stewart…..Stewart announces that West has reversed his decision…..The winners are the Bruise Brothers by DQ!!  As soon as the announcement is made Bobby Duncum blasts Ron West from behind with a clothesline….Hickerson gives him a couple of stomps before they leave to a chorus of boos.

Winners:

The Bruise Brothers by DQ

MATCH #3

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn/Stan Lane)

vs.

Johnny & Tommy Rich w/Davey Rich

Continental Tag Team Champions

The Rich Cousins come down the aisle to the tune of 'Tom Sawyer' by Rush surrounded by eight security guards as fans are trying their best to get their hands on them while throwing things. Once they get in the ring, Johnny removes his ring jacket to reveal a t-shirt with a picture of Sloth from the Goonies with 'Mike Von Erich' printed under it, meanwhile Tommy removes his jacket to reveal a t-shirt that reads 'I SURVIVED THE ALL JAPAN PRO WRESTLING TOUR 1984', while last but not least Davey takes off his jacket to reveal a t-shirt that that has the classic WCCW Logo except it reads 'No Class Championship Wrestling'…at this point the fans are ready to damn near riot but luckily "Everybody wants you" plays over the PA as the fans prepare for the arrival of the Fabulous Ones…but as the song is nearly over…there is still no sign of the Fabs.

RPG: "This song is awful, I wish they would hurry up and get out here!"

Platt: "Wait a minute, I'm getting word in my headset here that we've got a camera that has just went in the locker room of the Fabulous Ones and there seems to have been an attack on both Stan Lane and Steve Keirn."

(They cut to the locker room of the Fabs where Lane and Keirn are laid out and bloodied)

RPG: "Oh my God, Platt! It appears the Fabulous Ones got into some sort of altercation with each other in the back and have taken themselves out of the tournament!"

Platt: "What? That can't be what happened! I'm willing to bet that either the Karachi Vice or the Stud Stable attacked them….but regardless, it doesn't look like they'll be able to compete."

Les Thatcher comes down and let's the referee know what has happened.  The referee calls for the bell to start the match and then begins the count, after going through the arbitrary ten count, Johnny and Tommy Rich are declared the winners by count out. The fans are beyond livid that the Richs have been able to advance in the tournament without having to wrestle

Winners:
Johnny & Tommy Rich

RPG: "Platt, they better get some security to police out here for the Richs if they're going to make it out of here!"

Platt: "I think you're right, let's go to commercial break!"

==========================

COMMERCIAL BREAK

==========================

Platt: "Unbelivable…the Richs advance, thanks to the actions of another team who attacked the Fabulous Ones, how can they be proud of that?"

RPG: "A wins a win, Chuck. Do you know how great it will be for Continental to have our tag team champions win this tournament!"

Platt: "Trust me, it won't be great for ANYONE, if the Johnny and Tommy Rich win this tournament."

-------------------------------------------

MATCH #4:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The Nightmares (Danny Davis/Ken Wayne)

vs.

The Technicians (Brad Rheinghans/Bob Roop)

Before the match the two teams shook hands and agreed to a fair technical match.

RPG: "Only a couple of idiots like the Nightmares would agree to have a technical match with a team called the 'Technicians'. This should work out well for them."

Platt: "The Nightmares don't have to take a backseat to anybody when it comes to technical wrestling."

The opening moments of the match sees a lot of chain wrestling with the Technicians getting the better of the Nightmares of most exchanges when suddenly from out of nowhere….THE MOONDOGS hit the ring and attack the Nightmares….the referee calls for the Disqualification…..Roop and Rheinghans are PISSED and they go after the Moondogs and end up fighting them all the way up the aisle and out of sight…as the Nightmares are laid out in the ring.

Winners:
The Nightmares by DQ

Highlights are shown of another competitor in the upcoming Continental Heavyweight Championship tournament, Tatsumi Fujinami

MATCH #5:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The Sheepherders (Butch Miller/Luke Williams)

w/Lord Jonathan Boyd

vs.

"Champagne" Gerry Morrow/"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie w/Slick

As the Sheepherders and Lord Jonathan Boyd pace around the ring…..Morrow and Fergie repeat their elaborate entrance from the night before, but before they remove their suits, Slick asks for a microphone.

Slick: "Greetings and salumatations yo' Lordships….I don't think we've been formally introduced…My name is Slick and these here are my business associates, Carl Fergie and Gerry Morrow. (Morrow offers Boyd a glass of champagne, Boyd grabs it and downs it in one gulp….Morrow and Fergie are both visably taken aback) Good stuff, huh? Anyways, we've got a bit of a business preposition if you will.  Now, I can only assume your Sheepherders are only in this tournament to win the money, Amirite?"

Boyd: "The bloody hundred grand and to beat people up!"

Slick: "Exactedely. Now what if….these two gentlemen could pay you the same amount of money you would get if you won this tournament….right now….just to walk away."

Boyd: "That down sound to bad, yank…..but then they get to beat anyone up. Give me moment to speak to the boys. (Boyd/Miller/Williams confer over in the corner for a moment…then Boyd returns)  Alright mate, if give us the hundred grand…..plus another twenty five grand to make up for not getting to beat anyone up….you've got yourself a bloody deal."

Fergie: "Sold!"

Boyd: "Oh and we want whole bottle of champagne too."

Morrow: "No problem my friend, 'ders plenty more where dat came from." (hands over the bottle)

Boyd snatches the bottle away from Morrow as Fergie writes out a check and hands it to Luke Williams who starts to eat it before Boyd snatches it away and they exit the ring

Platt: "I can't believe this….what a ridiculous display going on here."

RPG: "Hey Platt, as Morrow often says….it doesn't get any better than this….and he's not talking about that awful Old Milwaukee you and the Dynamite Duo drink out behind the building during intermission."

Winners:

"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie & "Champagne" Gerry Morrow by forfeit

MATCH #6

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The Gunslingers (Scott Casey/Johnny Mantell) w/Sunshine

vs.

The Dynamite Duo (Brickhouse Brown/Norvell Austin)

While The Dynamite Duo had their fair share of supporters, the crowd was solidly behind the Gunslingers…despite the fact there were a few very tense moments in this match, cooler heads always prevailed and it was a very clean, evenly contested match that ended going to the full 20 minute time limit. Neither team was happy with the result, but they shook hands afterwards and got an ovation from the crowds afterwards and got an ovation from the crowd.

MATCH #7:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

The Wild Bunch (Black Bart/"Outlaw" Ron Bass)

vs.

The Fabulous Blondes (Eric Embry/Steve Regal)

w/Luscious Johnny V.

Once the Wild Bunch made their way to the ring, Black Bart demanded a microphone.

Bart: "Let me tell y'all somethin'! We been back thar' watchin' all these matches and seein' all the dadgum bullcrap that's been happenin'…and if you two are gonna have Lushus Johnny Valium out here then you can bet your butt that we gonna have somebody watchin' our back to make sure don’t no dadgum bullcrap happen to us! So, Wild Bill….get yer tail down here! Johnny, if you even look like you're going to interfere Irwin is going light you up with that bullwhip, boy!"

"Wild" Bill Iwrin comes down the aisle cracking the bullwhip and chases Johnny V around the ring for a moment before the match gets started…..Buddy Landel has once again joined in on commentary…with these being a few of his highlights: "Hey Platt, help us out….you're an idiot hick, what the hell does 'dadgum' mean?"/ Black Bart is the worst wrestler I've ever seen….well, I wrestled a guy named Rick Harris a few times that was worse, but I don't know what happened to him." / "You know I had hoped to be a guest on the Fiesta Garden tonight but I guess Madril couldn't get out of his shift at Panchos." / "You know I'm quite sure my teammates Embry and Regal are going to win this thing, but if something happens and they don't….I'm pulling for the Rich boys, such great guys! I know their Mamas must be so proud of them!" / "These goofs think that bringing Bill Irwin down here is going to worry Luscious Johnny? Johnny V will take that whip away from Irwin and reinact a scene from Roots, 'What's your name boy?' 'Super Destroyer two!' Their chance of winning is slimmer than Kendall Windham!"

Meanwhile in the ring…..the match goes as you would expect with these two teams….at one point, the match breaks down into a four way brawl in the ring….Johnny V jumps up on the apron and is about to throw powder in the face of Ron Bass…but just as he was dumping the powder in his hand, Irwin cracked the whip scaring Valiant causing him to throw the powder in his own face……Bass whipped Regal into Johnny V knocking him off the apron then catching him with a school boy roll up for the 1-2-3!

MATCH #8:

David Von Erich Memorial Tournament Match Round 2

"Bullet" Bob Armstrong/Terry Taylor

vs.

The Stud Stable (Robert Fuller/Jimmy Golden)

Fuller and Golden enter the ring to a ton of boos just like the previous night. As Armstrong and Taylor make their way down to the ring, Fuller demands a microphone.

Fuller: "First off, let me just say it's a damn shame what happened to those Fabulous Ones, I was hoping we'd get a chance to rassle them at some point in this thing, anyway…listen here Bob Armstrong, I know there was a truce between the Armstrong and the Fullers for a while in Twin States, but guess what? Twin States is dead and gone and so is any truce we may have had! Terry Taylor, I suggest you just turn and walk away rigth now because you're about to get caught in the middle of a family feud that you don't want no part of son and there's no reason for you to get involved!" (Armstrong grabs a mic at ringside)

Armstrong: "We can agree on one thing Robert Fuller….that truce is over and I'm more than happy to come in that ring and whip you and your cousin….tournament or not!" (Taylor grabs the mic)

Taylor: "You know Robert, You're exactly right this family feud has nothing to do with me and there's no reason for me to get involved…..oh wait…yes, there is…..I don't like you too…so Bullet let's do it!"

With that said, Armstrong and Taylor slide under the bottom rope and the fight is on! It takes a few moments for the referee to gain control and get the match started but he finally does. The match goes back and forth until Armstrong has Fuller in trouble…..which brings in Golden who gets met by Taylor….Golden shoves Taylor into the referee knocking him down, Taylor turns around and blasts Golden with a right hand which knocks Golden down and he rolls out of the ring and Taylor goes out after him….Armstrong manages to lock Robert Fuller in a sleeperhold in the center of the ring as the referee struggles to get back up off the mat….when from out of nowhere, Ron Fuller slides in, pulls out some knux and blasts Armstrong in the back of the head causing him to fall backwards with Robert landing on top of him, Ron slides out as the referee turns over and sees Fuller on top of Armstrong…and counts 1-2-3!

Winners:

The Stud Stable

=====================

Platt: "Well Ronnie, it's been an incredible evening here at Reunion Arena…"

RPG: "Hey look! It's Mr. Pro!"

----------------------------------

(Suddenly, "Mr. Pro" Kelly Kiniski enters the ring and with a microphone)

Mr. Pro: "Get a referee out here right now! I want all you people in Texas and all you people out there watching this show on the USA Network to see some WRESTLING…not all this fighting and disqualifications and count outs you've seen tonight…I want you people to say you saw the best WRESTLER in the world in an actual WRESTLING match…..so I'm calling out anybody in that dressing room right now who wants to come out here and get a WRESTLING lesson….come on out here and accept my open challenge!"

With that Mr. Pro throws down the mic as referee Ed Brock enters the ring….moments later….'Immigrant Song' by Led Zeplin blasts through the PA and everyone in Reunion Arena rises to their feet…..as BRUISER BRODY comes tearing down the aisle towards the ring!!

--------------------------------

MATCH #9:

Mr. Pro's Open WRESTLING Challenge

"Mr. Pro" Kelly Kiniski

vs.

Bruiser Brody

The fans are chanting "BRO-DEE  BRO-DEE" as Bruiser steps between the ropes….he tosses out his furry vest and chain and stomps towards the middle of the ring and just stands there staring down Kiniski who after a moment shoots behind Brody and attempts a german suplex…..Brody just looks annoyed and nails him with a back elbow and then turns around and blasts him with a big boot to the face!  Brody then tosses him out to the floor and gives him the tour around ringside slamming Mr. Pro into the ringpost, then the apron, then the ringside table, then hurling him back into the ring…he then whips him into the turnbuckle and follows him in with a big clothesline…..as Kiniski staggers out of the corner Brody scoops him up and gives him a running powerslam!  Kiniski looks like he's done but Brody is not….he picks him up and give him a big jumping piledriver in the center of the ring….Kiniski looks like a corspe laying motionless at this point….Brody hits the ropes and comes down with a huge leg drop and covers for the 1--2--3!!  Brody grabs the house mic on the way out and yells, 'Hey boy….thanks for the lesson!" and heads back up the aisle flailing his chain around.

Winner:
Bruiser Brody

================

Platt: "What a wild way to end things here tonight after all the things we've seen here at Reunion Arena, make sure you tune in tomorrow and see what's sure to be a thrilling conclusion to this tournament as well as the two huge title matches that will take place….good night from Dallas, Texas!"

First... the last of the opening round...

Platt/RPG still flies in Texas.  Those two are great together.

I did pretty good in predicting this round and think there are 3 really strong teams left between Armstrong/Taylor, The Wild Bunch and Fuller/Golden but nothing here would surprise me.

I just felt every word of that Bockwinkle interview... Perfect!

As for the second round...

Nice to see Tatum and Victory stay in the tourny.  With it being in Texas, the fans may hate them but they are familiar with them and it could sell a few tickets.

AWESOME Ending to the Bruise Brothers vs The Highway Men.  So creative... Loved it.

Was really looking forward to see who would come out on top between the Rich's and the Fab Ones... nice job hear even though it was not very popular.  You kept both teams looking strong while progressing an angle that we will hear more about in the coming weeks.

I had a feeling the Nightmares would win but the Moondog interference agani sets us up for more drama... Two teams will be searching out the Moondogs and can't wait to see who gets to them first.

More awesome booking with Slick and the Sheepherders... I need to win the lottery!

Landell was priceless... Whatever happened to Rick Harris... AWESOME

Would have been great to see the crowd reaction to the powder in the face of Valiant... Bart & Bass are great together.  Wish I had done better by them when they were on my roster.

Anytime we get an Armstrong vs a Fuller you know two things... First.. you are in for a treat.  Second... there is going to be some chaos in the end.  This one or the Gunslingers vs the Funks has been the Match of the Tourny so far in my eyes as it is here that we lost a team that could have won it all.

BRO-DEE....BRO DEE!

Round 2.... Fight!!

Gossett making more friends in Texas to start the night. Gotta love it!

Tatum and Victory labeling themselves the Home Team is fantastic! Dug this match, and liked Dark Journey playing into the finish like she did. I am ashamed of myself that these guys have fallen by the way side in the build up to the tournament, so I am glad that you and Spaldoni have made them look so good.

Tremendous finish to the Highwaymen/Bruise Brothers match! A classic that only gets pulled out once in a blue moon, and this was the perfect place for it. Duncum clotheslining the referee after the decision just makes it even better. I love the Bruise Brothers, and I am glad they've moved on.

and now The Rich Cousins....

Coming out to Tom Sawyer is a huge dick move, as are the Mike Von Erich and No Class Wrestling shirts. But the "I Survived The All Japan Pro Wrestling Tour 1984" shirt.... Fuck... I mean.... Fuuuckkk. I truly believe someone would have tried to kill Tommy Rich right there in that moment.

Quote

RPG: "Oh my God, Platt! It appears the Fabulous Ones got into some sort of altercation with each other in the back and have taken themselves out of the tournament!"

That line had me rolling. Absolutely tremendous.

Great way to save face for the Fabs, get even more heat on the Rich's, that they absolutely didn't need, and promptly get them out of the building so they didn't get murdered.

Quote

RPG: "Only a couple of idiots like the Nightmares would agree to have a technical match with a team called the 'Technicians'. This should work out well for them."

Though I think this was my favorite line of the night!!

Moondogs make a nuisance of themselves and get the Technicians DQ'ed! Nightmares win, but end the match laid out in the ring. Rough night for the babyfaces.

Morrow and Fergie buying their way to the next round is fantastic. Boyd drinking the champagne like a shot was a great touch. These guys are going to be super fresh for the next round!

Gunslinger and the Dynamite Duo, two of the top babyfaces teams in the game go to a Draw! Oh yeah, Fergie and Morrow are going to be SUPER fresh!!

Glad to see someone else got to have some fun writin' a dadgum Black Bart promo!

Irwin chasing Johnny V around with the whip would have been such a huge pop in Texas!

Quote

"Hey Platt, help us out….you're an idiot hick, what the hell does 'dadgum' mean?"

or maybe this!!

Buddy Landel is always welcome on the Fiesta Garden.

and.... Slimmer than Kendall Windham is actually the line of the night!!

Valiant powdering himself in the face, and then Bart picking up the win is the right kind of chaos that this match needed!!

Speaking of chaos, Fullers and Armstrongs just don't mix and the last match of the second round proves it yet again!!

Bob and Terry seem to have things well in hand, but Ron makes his presence felt and The Stud Stable moves on!

and just when it seems like we are all done.... Bruiser Brody makes his return to Texas!! and learns a lesson!!

Great way to close the night!

Great show all around!!

Very excited to bring this thing home tomorrow!

You the man Gene! Two awesome shows in one day!

Texas Champs Tatum and Victory take down the SPC, well with a little help from Dark Journey. I've got to give them credit, Tatum and Victory are doing pretty well.

Bruise Brothers advance with a DQ win. Not only do the Highwaymen stay strong but they get some good heat by taking out the Ref. After getting hit with the Moondog's bones and a chain from the Highwaymen, I wonder how much of a toll this will have on the Bruise Brothers for tomorrow's matches.

I couldn't wait to see what you had planned for the Rich's. LOL! I can't believe these guys are still alive. From the 'Tom Sawyer' theme to the T-Shirts, these guys go way over the top. I'm sure the fans were looking forward to the Fabs saving the day but not tonight. Who attacked the Fabs???? I couldn't stop laughing when RPG said they did that to each other. LOL that was freakn hilarious. Very creative booking and gives the Rich's even more heat, if that's possible.

RPG with another great line about the Nightmares agreeing to a technical match with a team called the Technicians. RPG was rolling tonight. Moondogs strike again and actually cost the Technicians the match. Nice twist.

Once again you had me cracking up with the Slick/Boyd conversation. Looks like Boyd loves him some champagne. Boyd takes the check before Luke eats it LOL. Great heat for Priceless. Will the pay off be worth it? We'll find out tomorrow. "The old Milwaukee that you and the Dynamite Duo drink" LOL RPG!

Dynamite Duo and Gunslingers battle to a clean draw. Good change of pace with all the craziness going on.

Thanks for plugging the upcoming closed circuit event.

Just when I thought things couldn't get funnier with RPG's comments, along comes Buddy. "Rick Harris was worse, I don't know what happened to him" Super Destroyer Two" The Rich's mama's must be proud"  Buddy is gold!

Wild Bill comes out to counter Johnny V and it works. LOL! Irwin cracking the whip and scaring Johnny with the powder was hilarious. The Wild Bunch are looking dadgum good.

The truce is over and the fight is on! Bullet and Taylor have things going their way until The Tennessee Stud makes an appearance to make sure his family advances. Looks like the family feud is in full throttle.

What a way to end the show! The "Mr. Pro" open challenges have been one of my favorite segments and I knew something big would come out of these. Big indeed as Bruiser Brody answers the challenge and gives "Mr. Pro the lesson. Can't go wrong giving the Texas fans an appearance by Brody.

Damn Gene, this is going to be a hard act to follow. Tremendous job!

From the Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas....

O03vCBn.jpg

bring to you, Night 2 of the:

M9BsIhN.jpg

We open with a panning shot of the huge crowd that has filled the Reunion Arena. They are loud, and they are ready for action! The camera then pans down to Marc Lowrance who is standing by with a microphone.

Marc Lowrance: Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman, and Welcome to the final night of the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament right here on the USA Network! Tonight we will see the final seven teams compete for the Memorial Trophy and the Hundred Thousand Dollars. We will also see Dick Slater defend the Mid-America Title against Tully Blanchard with Baby Dull, and Terry Funk will go one on one with "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes for the USWA World Heavyweight Championship. We have a lot of action for you tonight, so let's get right to it with the first quarter final match in the tournament.

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Bruise Brothers (Porkchop Cash/The Snowman) vs "Hollywood" John Tatum/"New Jersey Heartthrob" Jack Victory w/Dark Journey-

In this battle of the Texas Tag Team Champions and the Central States Tag Team Champions, the fans were one hundred percent behind the Bruise Brothers. Tatum and Victory didn't let that bother them in the least as they strutted and preened before the bell rang. Once it did ring, Tatum immediately continued strutting but added in some stalling and the occasional ducking underneath the ropes to really piss the crowd off!

The match itself saw Tatum and Victory take control early with some Greco Roman Eye Gouges and blatant double teaming on Porkchop Cash. They did as much as they possibly could behind the back of the referee, including choking him with the tag rope, and they very nearly won the match after a Victory diving elbow drop, because Tatum was holding the legs of Cash from the floor! Finally, Porkchop reversed an Irish whip, blasted Victory with a headbutt and was able to crawl over and make a tag.

The Snowman came in fired up and blasted away on both Victory and Tatum with kicks and punches, then took Victory down with a big clothesline. Tatum was near the ropes, and Snowman clotheslined him clear out of the ring to the floor which drew a huge pop from the Reunion crowd. Snowman scooped Victory up onto his shoulders and planted him with a big Running Powerslam, and then tagged Porkchop back into the ring. Snowman then headed to the floor and popped Tatum with another big punch, while Cash dropped another Headbutt on Victory and covered him for the One, Two, Three!

Winners, Advancing to the Semi-Finals: The Bruise Brothers (Porkchop Cash/The Snowman)

Marc Lowrance: Oh Yeah! The Bruise Brothers have defeated John Tatum and Jack Victory! They will move on in the tournament, and the Texas crowd is loving it! Folks, we will be right back with more action!

-Commercial Break-

Marc Lowrance: Welcome back to the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament on the USA Network! We've already seen the Bruise Brothers advance in the tournament, and now it is time to find out who they will face in the Semi-Finals. Up next from Continental Wrestling, we have Ken Wayne and Danny Davis, known as the Nightmares taking on.... Tommy and Johnny Rich. Ladies and Gentleman, you'll forgive me if I don't sound unbiased during this contest, but after the things that the Rich cousins have said about Texas and the Von Erich family, I sincerely hope that the Nightmares beat them and beat them badly. Let's head down to the ring.

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Nightmares (Danny Davis/Ken Wayne) vs "Wildfire" Tommy Rich/Johnny Rich w/Davey Rich-

The negative reaction for the Rich cousins upon their introduction was nearly deafening, and only got louder when Tommy Rich made the hand sign for the Iron Claw then used it to grab his crotch. That heat didn't die down in the least when Tommy and Johnny attacked The Nightmares just as the bell was ringing. They pitched Danny Davis out of the ring and singled out Ken Wayne, delivering quite a quick beatdown on him until the referee pushed Tommy out of the ring. Johnny didn't let up, stomping, choking, and dropping elbows on Wayne until he got tired and tagged Tommy back in.

Tommy Rich continued the beat down on Wayne, but he was also having a good time showboating and yelling at the crowd. It wound up costing him after a bit, as Wayne grabbed the legs of Rich and dropped him with a reverse atomic drop much to the delight of the crowd. As Tommy Rich wobbled around the ring, walking like he'd just been shot in the groin, Wayne quickly made the tag to Danny Davis who came in like a crazy man! Davis blasted Tommy Rich with an uppercut that sent Tommy off of his feet into a huge flat back bump. David then tore across the ring just as Johnny Rich entered the ring, and Davis blasted him with a single punch that sent him sailing backwards over the top to the floor!

After this The Nightmares were in control and looked to have things well in hand as they beat on Tommy Rich and prevented him from making the tag. However, the tide quickly turned and the end came when Davis and Wayne both came into the ring and took Tommy over with a double suplex. Instead of leaving the ring, they looked to hit a second one, but the referee was shoving Wayne out of the ring as he had reached his five count. While he was distracted, Johnny Rich jumped quickly into the ring and kicked Danny Davis in the balls. Davis collapsed to the mat, Tommy Rich fell on top of him, grabbed a hand full of tights, and when the referee turned around, he dropped down and counted One.. Two..... Ken Wayne leapt in, but was too late.... Three!

Winners, Advancing to the Semi-Finals: "Wildfire" Tommy Rich and Johnny Rich

Marc Lowrance: Oh Come On!! The Nightmares had this match won! These Rich cousins are absolutely despicable. Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back.

-Commercial Break-

-"Mr. Money" Carl Fergie and "Champagne" Gerry Morrow receive a Bye into the Semi-Finals-

Since the fans were already so happy after the win by the Rich cousins, you can only imagine how excited they were when it was announced that Morrow and Fergie received a bye. The boo's got even angrier when Morrow and Fergie came out of the entrance way, waved to the crowd, and then toasted them with glasses of champagne before returning to the dressing room.

Marc Lowrance: The hits just keep coming Ladies and Gentleman. Carl Fergie and Gerry Morrow advance without wrestling a match thanks to the Draw between The Gunslingers and the Dynamite Duo in the last round. Talk about the luck of the draw for these two! But, let us move on as we head to the last match of the Quarter Finals. The Texas All Star duo of Black Bart and Ron Bass, The Wild Bunch are set to take on the USWA team of Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden. Let's head down to the action!

1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit

-The Wild Bunch (Black Bart/Ron Bass) vs Robert Fuller/Jimmy Golden-

This one started off on the slow side with Golden and Bass locking up and both men struggled to get an advantage. They circled one another and locked up again, and this time Golden was able to push Bass back toward his corner, where Fuller grabbed Bass by the hair, and Golden sucker punched him to take the advantage. From there Fuller and Golden effectively cut the ring in half, made frequent tags, more frequent double teams, and worked Ron Bass over until he was nearly finished. At around the seven minute mark, Golden dropped an elbow from the second rope onto Bass and covered but Bass still managed to kick out at two.

Golden tagged Fuller back in, and Robert pulled Bass up and gave him a kick to the gut, then took him over with a suplex. Another cover, another count of two. Fuller took a few steps back, then charged forward and dropped a knee across the face of Bass. Another cover, another two. Fuller looked annoyed as he pulled Bass to his feet, and then clamped on a Sleeper Hold! Bass struggled briefly, but soon his arms were hanging down at his sides. The referee came over and lifted his arm, and it fell. On the apron Black Bart, started stomping and hollering, and soon the fans were doing the same. The referee checked the arm of Bass again, and again it fell. From the apron Bart was banging on the turnbuckle and stomping his feet. When the referee grabbed the wrist of Bass, Bart yelled out "DADGUM IT RON, WAKE UP!!"

The referee lifted the arm of Bass into the air for the third time, and it started to drop, but about half way down Bass gave a thumbs up, and the Reunion Arena crowd went crazy! Bass started shaking some feeling back into himself as Fuller looked to be clamping down even harder on the sleeper, but then Bass fired an elbow into his gut, and another, and another! Finally Fuller let go of the sleeper, and Bass nailed him with a big right hand before stumbling over and tagging in Black Bart! When the hot tag was made, another huge cheer went up from the Texas faithful!

Bart came in like a dadgum wildman, throwing haymakers at Fuller, throwing haymakers at Golden who got in the ring, and nearly throwing one at the referee who came to warn him about using closed fists! Bart whipped Fuller into the ropes and nailed him with a clothesline. Bart sent Golden into the ropes and gave him a back body drop. Fuller was back up and Bart gave him another clothesline! Golden was about half way back to his feet, and Bart crashed into him with a knee that sent him through the ropes and to the floor! Bart turned around to find Fuller back on his feet, and he scooped him up and planted him with a big bodyslam! Finally Black Bart scaled the turnbuckles and came off with the Texas Trash Compactor for the One, Two, Three!!

Winners, Advancing to the Semi-Finals: The Wild Bunch (Black Bart/Ron Bass)

Marc Lowrance: Black Bart cleans house, and just like that The Wild Bunch have advanced in the tournament!! The crowd here at the Reunion Arena are loving it, and Bart is going crazy in the ring. Bass looks a little worse for wear, but he will have some time to recover before they compete again. Okay Ladies and Gentleman, I am going to go ahead and turn things over to my colleague Lance Russell. Take it away Lance!

The David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament

lance.jpg.c6fd74431af551f744015e1da8bdc078.jpg

Lance: Thank you very much Marc. This has been one heck of a tournament. It started with thirty two teams and now we're down to the final four. You will see the Continental tag team champs, the Rich's taking on the Central States tag team champs the Bruise Brothers. The Wild Bunch will face the team of "Champagne" Gerry Morrow and "Mr. Money" Carl Fergie. One of those four teams will walk away with one hundred thousand dollars and the David Von Erich Trophy. You will also see Dick Slater defend the Mid America title against Tully Blanchard. And of course, Terry Funk defends the USWA World title against Dusty Rhodes. After all that, I'll turn it back over to Marc for the final match of the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team tournament. Well enough talking, let's go to the ring for the first of two championship matches.

Mid-America Title Bout

"Unpredictable" Dick Slater (C) vs. Tully Blanchard w/Baby Doll

Slater and Tully have quite a stare down during introductions. The bell rings. Baby Doll walks up to Slater, slowly looks him up and down and shakes her head. Slater warns Baby Doll. Tully sneaks around and nails Slater with a high knee to the back. Baby Doll gets out of there as Tully stomps away on Slater. Tully drags Slater to the ropes and chokes him. As the Ref backs him off, Baby Doll slaps Slater across the face. Tully grabs the top rope and drops several knees on Slater. Tully pulls Slater up and hits a delayed vertical suplex 1..2..Kick out. Tully picks up Slater and goes for another suplex but Slater blocks it. Tully tries again but Slater blocks it, then hoists Tully up and suplexes him back.

Both men are lying there. Slater regroups. Tully rolls to the apron. Slater swings off the ropes and baseball slides Tully out of the ring. Slater goes to the outside. Baby Doll gets in front of Tully and yells at Slater. Slater grabs Baby Doll by her shoulders and simply lifts her up and out of the way. Slater slams Tully's head on the apron and hurls him back in the ring. Slater climbs to the top ropes. Tully staggers up and Tully crashes down with a double axehandle 1..2..Baby Doll puts Tully's foot on the rope. Slater goes to the ropes and points down at Baby Doll. Tully staggers up, nails Slater from behind and hurls him through the ropes.

Tully distracts the Ref while Baby Doll scratches Slater's eyes. Tully goes to the outside, picks up Slater and swings him into the steel post. Tully hurls Slater back in the ring. Tully goes to the top rope. Slater staggers up. Tully jumps down but Slater nails him with a punch to the gut, flipping Tully over. Both men are reeling. Baby Doll grabs a chair and sets it in the corner. Tully is by the ropes. Baby Doll is telling him where the chair is. Slater staggers up. Tully is crawling to the chair. Slater grabs Tully by his hair and drags him back. Slater clamps on a headlock and unloads with punches. Slater swings Tully into the chair. The Ref finally sees the chair and picks it up. Baby Doll gets on the apron and is yelling at the Ref, telling him Slater put the chair there. Slater walks over. The Ref is questioning him. Slater is pointing at Baby Doll and the fans are agreeing with Slater. The Ref holds up the chair and is now pointing at Baby Doll.

Tully yanks the chair from the Ref's hands and blasts Slater with it! The Ref signals for the DQ. Slater is on his knees. Tully hops on the middle ropes and crashes down with a chair shot! Tully hits Slater multiple times on his back with the chair. Officials storm the ring. Baby Doll gets in the ring and hands Tully the Mid America title. Tully sticks his boot on Slater and holds up the title as the fans boo.

Winner of the match by DQ- Dick Slater. Slater retains the title.

Lance: Well it certainly appears that Baby Doll's plan backfired. However, they really did a number on Slater. Slater is being helped out by officials. After that poor display, Tully Blanchard doesn't deserve another shot at that title. Well fans, it's time for the first of our David Von Erich tag team tournament semi final matches . I hear the boos starting and that can mean only one thing.

Semi-Final Match

Continental Tag Team Champions Tommy and Johnny Rich vs. Central States Tag Team Champions The Bruise Brothers

The boos are defining as security escorts the Rich's to the ring. The boos get louder when Johnny shows off his T-Shirt that says "World Class Championship Rich's" The boos get even louder as Tommy holds up a sign that says " The Von Erich's got run over on Bad Street" Trash hits the ring which prompts an announcement asking fans to please refrain from throwing any kind of debris into the ring. Security even has to escort a few rowdy fans trying to hop the railing.

Thank goodness "Boogie Fever" plays over the speakers and the Bruise Brothers make their way down the aisle. The Bruise Brothers hit the ring as the Rich's flee to the outside. They stay out there during introductions.

The bell rings and the Ref threatens the Rich's with a count out. The Rich's start arguing with front row fans which nearly causes a fight. Bruise Brothers go to the outside and the brawl is on! The fans are going wild as the Bruise Brothers go to town on the Rich's. Cash hurls Tommy into the ring as Snowman body slams Johnny on the concrete.

It's all Bruise Brothers during the opening moments as the fans are up and cheering while the Rich's bump all over the ring. The tide turns when Tommy trips Snowman from the apron. Snowman staggers into a clothesline by Johnny. Johnny tags in Tommy. Johnny holds Snowman as Tommy comes off the top rope with an elbow to the head. Tommy and Johnny work over Snowman as they break all the rules. Tommy tags in Johnny. Tommy slams Snowman as Johnny comes off the top rope with an elbow drop 1..2..Cash breaks it. Tommy runs in but Cash sends him through the ropes with a headbutt. Cash goes back to his corner. Johnny swings Snowman to the ropes but misses a clothesline, Snowman swings back and clotheslines Johnny down, then makes the hot tag to Cash.

Cash relishes the moment. Cash swings Johnny to the ropes and back drops him. Tommy runs in and gets back dropped. Johnny staggers up and gets scooped slammed. Tommy staggers over and gets a scoop slam. Cash picks up the Rich's and knocks their heads together. Cash swings Johnny to the ropes and nails him with a cross body diving headbutt 1..2..Tommy drops an elbow on Cash. Snowman runs in, swings Tommy to the ropes and puts him down with a punch to the face. Tommy rolls to the apron. Tommy reaches in his tights and puts a pair of brass knuckles on his hand.

The Bruise Brothers swing Johnny to the ropes and double clothesline him down. The Ref guides Snowman to his corner as Cash hits a jumping elbow drop on Johnny. Cash is covering as Tommy comes off the middle ropes with a brass knuckles shot to Cash's head. As Tommy rises, Snowman takes himself and Tommy over the top rope with a diving clothesline. Johnny puts his arm over Cash (bleeding from his forehead) as the Ref counts 1..2..3!

BOOOOOS!

Winners of the match- Tommy and Johnny Rich

Lance: My goodness, what a match. It was clear to me the Bruise Brothers had the match won until Tommy brought in a pair of brass knuckles. What a travesty. I can't believe it but the Rich's are now going to the finals. They will face the winners of our next match between the Wild Bunch and Morrow and Fergie. I would say the odds would be in the favor of Morrow and Fergie. They bought off the Sheepherders and then received a bye. Meanwhile the Wild Bunch earlier had a hard fought match with the Stud Stable. Speaking of Morrow and Fergie. Last week at the Rupp Arena, Carl Fergie showed up and helped Gerry Morrow defeat George Wells in a ghetto street fight. After the match, Morrow did one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. After they hit George with a champagne bottle, Morrow dropped George with not one but two falling DDT's on the concrete. I understand George is still in the hospital. His friend Rocky Johnson has been with him and will give us an update on George's condition next week. We wish George a speedy recovery. Ok, let's get down to the ring for another semi final match.

Semi-Final Match

The Wild Bunch (Black Bart and Ron Bass) vs. "Champagne" Gerry Morrow and "Mr. Money" Carl Fergie w/Slick

Morrow, Fergie and Slick are in the ring and the arrogance is at an all time high. The Wild Bunch walk down the aisle. They point to Slick, then look back and wave their arms. Wild Bill Irwin comes out with his whip. The fans cheer as they enter the ring. After introductions are made, Slick grabs the mic.

Slick: Hold on, hold on, just one sec. Now there's no need for him and his whip. I aint gonna cause any trouble. Matter of fact I'm gonna help you boys. As you all saw. we made Boyd and his Sheepherders some very rich men and they didn't have to do a thing but walk away. By look'n at you hillbilly hicks. (Wild Bunch walk forward) Whoa whoa whoa, I didn't mean that. What I'm trying to say, is you boys can certainly use some green, if you know what I mean. We just the men that can provide. Money talks, so why don't you boys take it and walk.

The Wild Bunch converse while Slick pulls out an envelope from his pocket. Slick smiles and holds it out. In the background, Morrow and Fergie smile and hold up champagne bottles as an added bonus.

The fans roar as Wild Bill whips the check out of Slick's hand! Bill grabs Slick and hurls him over the top rope! Bart and Bass attack Morrow and Fergie as the bottles fly out of their hands. The Ref gets the bottles and hands them off to a ring attendant then signals for the bell.

Bart punches Morrow to his corner and follows up with several kicks and stomps. The Ref guides Bart to his corner. Bass swings Morrow to the ropes and puts him down with a back elbow smash. Bass follows with a knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Bart sticks out his boot. Bass runs Morrow over and slams his head on Bart's boot then tags him in. They swing Morrow to the ropes and double clothesline him down. Fergie runs in. Bart and Bass put him down with a double punch. Wild Bunch continue to control the match. Slick is still reeling on the outside as Bill closely watches him while cracking his whip.

A few minutes later, Bass picks up Morrow but Morrow rakes his eyes and pushes him in the corner. Fergie chokes Bass while Morrow puts the boots to him. Bart runs over but the Ref is on him. Morrow chokes Bass on the middle ropes, then holds him out by his legs as Fergie comes off the middle ropes with a knee to the back. Morrow hits a gut wrench suplex on Bass then tags in Fergie. They hoist Bass up and double suplex him back. Fergie drops a knee 1..2..Kick Out. Fergie and Morrow yell at the Ref. After a few minutes of taking turns working over Bass, they swing him to the ropes and go for a double clothesline but Bass ducks, swings back and clotheslines them both down. Bart and the fans fire Bass up. Bass staggers back up and makes the tag to Bart.

Bart just hammers away on Morrow and Fergie. Bart slams Morrow. Bart picks up Fergie and hangs him upside down on the turnbuckles. Bart kicks away until the Ref's count of 4. Bart grabs Fergie's hands and yanks him out of there. Bart hops on the middle ropes and crashes down with a knee drop 1..2..Morrow kicks him on the head. Bass runs in and pounds Morrow in the corner. Slick runs over but Bill grabs Slick by his shirt and pushes him down. The Ref guides Bass back to his corner. Bart picks up Fergie but Morrow nails Bart from behind with a knee to the back. Bass runs over and punches Morrow through the ropes. On the outside Bill is watching Slick. Morrow grabs a champagne bottle. The Ref is tied up with Bass. Fergie picks Bart up. Morrow yells up at Fergie and shows him the bottle. Just as Morrow throws the bottle, Bart lowblows Fergie. Bart catches the bottle. Bass sees this and continues to distract the Ref. Morrow tries to get back in the ring but Bill runs over and holds him by his legs. Bart opens the bottle, takes a swig, then blasts Fergie over the head!!! Bart covers. The Ref turns around and counts 1..2..3!

HUGE POP!!!

Winners of the Match- The Wild Bunch

Lance: (smiling) Well I can't say I condone the actions of the Wild Bunch, it was nice to see Morrow and Fergie get a taste of their own medicine. Unbelievable. Fans, the finals are now set. The Wild Bunch will take on the Rich's. One of those two teams will walk away with one hundred thousand dollars and the David Von Erich trophy. Texas All-Star will have the honor of showcasing that tremendous match. Our next match is for all the marbles, the USWA world title. It happens next.

USWA World Title Bout

Terry Funk (C) vs. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes

Before the match, Terry Funk storms the podium.

Funk: My brother Dory and I were cheated out of the tournament! Those two pukes Casey and Mantell couldn't lace up a Funk's boot. So you tell me Lance, how is it possible they could beat us Funks? (Funk pokes Lance) Tell me Lance! Tell me!

Lance: I don't know Terry, maybe they were the better team.

Funk stares daggers through Lance.

Funk: You're just like all the rest. Everybody is against the Funks. You know who's going to pay? That fat pig Dusty Rhodes! Oh yea, I heard he was back stage patting those pukes on the back and having a good laugh at our expense. Dusty Rhodes! Tonight I'm going to beat that putrid body of yours til it's black and blue with bruises and then I'm going to make you bleed like the pig you are!

Terry races to the ring.

Lance: That man is out of his mind. Never the less, our world title match happens right now.

Funk is running around the ring. He picks up the timekeeper and pushes him over, then grabs a mic.

"Dusty! Get out here you fat pig!"

Funk gets in the ring and pushes the ring announcer.

The place erupts as Dusty Rhodes comes down the aisle!

Dusty gets a mic "The talk'n is ova Terry Funk! It's time for a Texas ass whipp'n!"

The fans cheer as Dusty gets on the apron, grabs the top rope and gives Funk a big point. Funk gets out of the ring as Dusty enters. The introductions are made and the bell rings. Dusty goes out after Funk. Funk slides back in the ring. Dusty slides in but Funk is all over him. Funk swings Dusty in the corner and charges in but Dusty nails Funk with his boot. Funk staggers back and falls down. Dusty walks over and gives Funk's hand a stomp. Dusty picks up Funk, swings him into the corner and follows with a running clothesline. Dusty hops on the turnbuckles. The fans count along as Dusty punches Terry 10 times. Dusty hops down. Funk staggers out, swinging in the air. Dusty picks up Funk and atomic drops him. Dusty mimics Funk as Funk stands there with his legs twisted. Dusty spins his arms and puts Funk down with a bionic elbow 1..2..Funk gets his foot on the ropes. Dusty reaches down but Funk rakes his eyes, grabs him by his trunks and pulls him through the ropes.

Funk regroups and staggers around before going to the apron. Dusty staggers up and Funk puts him down with a double axehandle. Funk picks up Dusty and slams his head on the timekeeper's table. Funk drags Dusty over and slams his head on the apron, then hurls him back in the ring. Dusty is bleeding. Funk picks up Dusty and chokes him on the top rope, then flings him back. Funk picks up Dusty and hits a swinging neckbreaker 1..2..Dusty gets his foot on the rope. Funk pulls the Ref by his shirt. The Ref threatens with a DQ and Funk reluctantly lets him go. Funk picks up Dusty, swings him to the ropes and flips him over with a knee to the gut. Funk picks up Dusty and executes a rib breaker, then picks him up and drops him with a Russian Legweep 1..2..Dusty barley gets his shoulder up. Funk is furious and yells at the Ref, even raising a fist to him. Funk picks up Dusty and hits a shin breaker, then quickly follows with a spinning toehold but Dusty rakes his eyes, grabs him by his trunks and hurls him out of the ring.

Dusty uses the ropes to help himself up. The fans are up and cheering as Dusty pumps his fists. Funk gets on the apron. Dusty goes over, Funk takes a swing, Dusty blocks it, punches away on Funk and vertical suplexes him back into the ring. Dusty picks up Funk and slams him down. Dusty hops on the middle ropes. Funk staggers up and Dusty puts him down with a Bionic elbow 1..2..Funk gets his foot on the ropes. Dusty puts Funk's leg on the bottom rope and drops several knees on it while Funk screams in pain. Dusty pulls Funk out, holds his legs apart and drops an elbow on leg. The fans go wild as Dusty applies the figure four! Dusty wrenches away as Funk screams. Funk goes hysterical and finally is able to reach the ropes.

Dusty swings Funk to the ropes and clamps on the sleeper! Funk's arms are flailing and he hits the Ref. The Ref goes down. Dusty wrenches away as Funk goes down. Funk is out.

BOOOS as RON FULLER comes to the ring with a cowbell. Ron slides in the ring and blasts Dusty from behind with the cowbell! Ron goes over to revive the Ref. Ron gives Dusty a stomp before leaving. Funk is just laid out over Dusty. The Ref crawls over and counts 1....2....3!

Massive boos.

The Ref lays the title across Funk, then signals for help. Officials help Funk out of there. Before they can help Dusty, Ron Fuller, Rob Fuller and Jimmy Golden hit the ring. Rob and Jimmy hold the unconscious Dusty as Ron slaps him around. Ron says something to Rob and Jimmy. They smile and set Dusty up for a spike piledriver.

The place goes nuts as the FABULOUS ONES (Bandages on their heads) hit the ring swinging chairs! Stud Stable bails. Fabs attend to Dusty while staring down the Stud Stable,

Winner of the match and still USWA World Champ- Terry Funk

Lance: Well once again we get a tainted victory. I knew Ron Fuller had issues with Dusty Rhodes but that was totally uncalled for. Thank goodness the Fabulous Ones were around, obviously still showing effects from that mysterious assault yesterday. Very volatile situation between those groups. Well fans, I've enjoyed being a part of this historic event. And now I get to enjoy the final match of the David Von Erich Memorial tag team tournament as a fan. Without further adieu, I will turn the time over to you Marc Lowrance. Take it way.

Love this back and forth between the fans. the heel and the ref.  So well done.  This just painted such a vivd picture.

When I was a kid, Wildfire was my favorite babyface.  Now he is clearly my favorite heel.  You guys have really got him so MAJOR HEAT.  Awesome job.  I can't think of anyone as hated at Wildfire is right now.  Heel of the century.... maybe Heel of the Millenium.  He took on all of Texas including the VonErichs and is one win away from the Trophy.

Wow... the Fullers and the Funks  take out Dusty.  The Fab Ones make the save.  I see some big matches down the road!

The finals is MUST SEE TV!  Can't wait.

Tully and Baby Doll try to pull a fast one on Slater, but when the plan backfires Tully just beats Slater senseless with a chair!! Yikes. I think we'll be seeing more of this one, as Mr. Slater comes looking for revenge.

The Rich cousins cheat there way to another victory after endearing themselves to the fans a little bit more! The Bruise Brothers puts up one hell of a fight, and would have won the match if not for the cheating. Great showing for them in the tournament.

The Slickster, Morrow, and Fergie try to spread around a little more money, but The Wild Bunch aren't having it. Irwin whipping the check out of Slick's hand is a great touch! Wild Bunch all working together to use the tactics of Fergie and Morrow against them in the finish was awesome. I particularly liked Bart taking a drink before cracking Fergie with the bottle!

The Funker comes out and graces us with some words of wisdom before taking on the Egg Sucking Dog known as Dusty Rhodes. Uncle Terry always has time for his fans!

One hell of a fight between Funk and the Dream, and Dusty seems poised to bring home the gold, when Terry knocks down the ref, and Ron Fuller arrives on the scene. One cowbell to the head of Rhodes later, and The Funker retains.

Then the whole Stud Stable arrives and the beatdown commences, but here come the Fabs for the save!! Did the Stable attack the Fabs? Interesting....

Great stuff Spaldoni!!

Thanks to you and Gene for doing this!

Now, let's see whose gonna win this sumbitch!!

We cut back to Marc Lowrance who is waiting with a microphone....

Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, it is now time for the finals of the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament. The winners of the match will claim the David Von Erich Memorial Trophy and the One Hundred Thousand Dollars in prize money. Black Bart and Ron Bass have fought tooth and nail to make it here, while Tommy and Johnny Rich have used every low down tactic they could think of to keep winning. It all comes down to this, so let's head to the ring.

Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold" plays and the Texas crowd goes wild remembering the music of Kevin Von Erich, but those cheers turn to deafening boo's when the Rich cousins emerge from the locker room, dressed in matching Tennessee orange trunks. They mock the crowd and make general asses of themselves the whole way to the ring.

Black Bart and Ron Bass come out and stop a few steps from the dressing room and Bart points toward the skies, and all of a sudden "La Grange" by ZZ Top, which was the theme for David Von Erich begins to play. Bart and Bass both nod and then head toward the ring, looking very ready for a fight as the crowd goes crazy for them.

Marc Lowrance: Here We Go...

1 Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit

-The Wild Bunch (Black Bart/Ron Bass) vs "Wildfire" Tommy Rich/Johnny Rich w/Davey Rich- David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament FINAL

Before the bell could even ring the brawl began as all three of the Rich Cousins attacked Bart and Bass. That didn't last long as "Wild" Bill Irwin came charging out of the back to even up the odds, and he chased Davey Rich clear out of the arena so that just the men in the match were left to fight this out amongst themselves. The referee got Black Bart and Tommy Rich out of the ring and the match was set to start with Ron Bass and Johnny Rich as the legal men.

Johnny attempted to open things up with an eye rake, but Ron Bass blocked it, and showed Johnny that he wasn't dealing with a regular fan favorite when he raked his eyes, followed it up with a back rake, and then gave him a bit of a "bag tag" that had the fans roaring in delight, and Johnny high stepping around the ring. Bass scooped Johnny up and gave him an atomic drop that had him doing a little more dancing, and then took him off his feet with a big right hand. Bass tagged in Bart who looked liked a kid in a candy store as he started laying into Johnny Rich.

The Reunion Arena crowd was clearly behind Black Bart as he pounded Rich from pillar to post, and they came out of their seats on a high back body drop that looked like it killed Johnny. Bart went to the buckles for the Texas Trash Compactor, but Tommy Rich came across the apron like a flash and caught Bart with a forearm smash that sent him off the ropes, hard to the apron, and down to the floor. This allowed Johnny time to crawl across the ring and tag Tommy in, who was able to jump on Bart, just as he got back into the ring.

The momentum totally shifted at this point as Tommy Rich went to work breaking down the leg of Black Bart. He was absolutely relentless, dropping elbows, knees, stomps, and even punches into the leg of Bart. He positioned it on the ropes and dropped his full weight on it over and over again. At one point, he allowed Bart to get up, just so he could kick the leg out from underneath him. Then after a solid five minutes of this assault on the leg of Bart, Tommy Rich locked on the Figure Four Leglock. Bart was in agony, but was still swinging punches at Tommy Rich. Rich responded by giving Bart the finger, which only made Bart madder, which only made Rich cinch down harder on the hold.

Bart tried to pull himself toward the ropes, inch after inch, but eventually he stopped moving. The referee dropped down and counted One, Two, Thre... Bart sat up at the last possible second and with a loud yell, again began pulling himself bodily toward the ropes. Both Ron Bass and the Reunion Arena crowd were clapping and stomping, willing Bart toward the ropes and with one final drag, he was able to grab them. Tommy Rich waited until the count of Four to release the hold, and then backed away with a smirk on his face and tagged in Johnny.

Bart started using the ropes to pull himself toward Bass, but Johnny Rich ran over and stomped on Bart to halt his momentum. Johnny grabbed two handfuls of hair and pulled Bart to his feet, and then slapped him across the face. Leg or no leg, Black Bart wasn't having that and he fired a big right hand at Johnny that knocked him over backwards, but also caused Bart to fall back down. At this point, both men were crawling toward their partners! Johnny reached Tommy first and tagged him in, and Tommy was quickly into the ring, trying to reach Bart, but was a second too late!!

The pop was huge when Bart made the tag to Ron Bass! Bass came in with both fist clenched and he went right for Tommy Rich, who pulled the referee between himself and Bass!! Bass collided with the referee who went down to the canvas in a heap, and when Bass was looking down at the ref in stunned confusion, Tommy Rich kicked him square in the nuts. Bass sank to his knees holding his groin, and Tommy fired off another kick to his face. Johnny Rich came back into the ring and the two of them started laying the boots to Bass.

Black Bart stepped back into the ring, and although he could barely walk, attempted to charge at the Rich cousins. They lashed out with a double kick to the gut, and then dropped Bart with a double DDT. As Tommy and Johnny stood over both Bart and Bass, they each raised their hands into the air and gave the sign for the Iron Claw! The boo's from the crowd were deafening, and it certainly looked like the people on the floor were edging closer to the ring...

Just as things reached a fever pitch, the opening strains of "Tom Sawyer" by Rush exploded across the sound system for the arena.....

Inside the ring, Tommy Rich doubled over laughing and gave a big thumbs up, then started stomping around the ring holding up his Iron Claw hand. The boo's almost began to drown out the song, but then the crowd began to rumble and soon exploded into a roar of cheers so loud that the shaking of the building was actually visible on television. The camera that was still on Tommy Rich saw the look on his face go from elation, to confusion, to horror. He and Johnny began to back away from the fallen Bart and Bass, as two men came down the aisle and slid into the ring.....

Marc Lowrance: KEVIN!! KERRY!! THE VON ERICH'S ARE IN THE REUNION ARENA!!!

When Kevin and Kerry Von Erich hit the ring, wearing blue jeans and WWF t-shirts, the roof nearly blew clear off of the Reunion Arena. When Kerry Von Erich hit Johnny Rich with a Discus Punch that sent him cartwheeling over the top rope backwards, the words of Marc Lowrance on commentary were totally drowned out by the roar of the crowd. When Tommy Rich began to beg off, but Kevin blasted him with a huge right hand the roar only intensified. Then Kerry hit him, then Kevin again, then Kerry leveled him with a Discus Punch of his own. Then Kevin Von Erich raised his hand into the air and showed the Reunion Arena the Iron Claw and again the building was shaking. Kevin dropped down, straddled Tommy Rich and locked  in the Iron Claw as Texas roared. Rich kicked and thrashed for several moments, then began to just twitch, then grew totally still, and when Kevin came up, blood was dripping from his fingers.

Kevin and Kerry nodded to one another, and Kevin headed over to wake up the referee, while Kerry got Ron Bass to his feet. Bass and Kerry eyed one another, then Bass staggered over, dropped an elbow on Rich and waited, as the revived referee crawled over and counted One.....Two.....Three!!!

Winners of the David Von Erich Memorial Tag Team Tournament: Black Bart and Ron Bass, The Wild Bunch!!!!

Marc Lowrance: Black Bart and Ron Bass have won the tournament!! Kevin and Kerry are here!! The Rich Cousins have been wiped out!!! All is right in Texas tonight!!

Kevin and Kerry head back into the ring where they present the trophy to a battered Black Bart and Ron Bass who are standing in the center of the ring soaking it all in. They hoist the trophy into the air, and then Kevin and Kerry raise their arms into the air. The crowd is going absolutely nuts as the celebration begins.

Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, it has been an amazing three days here in Texas. We want to Thank You all for tuning in and watching us, we want to thank the USA Network for hosting us. We here at Texas All Star want to thank our friends at Continental Wrestling, and the USWA for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful organization. Mostly we want to thank everyone involved, and all of you for coming together and allowing all of us to celebrate the life of an amazing man and an amazing wrestler who is sorely missed. Congratulations once again to Black Bart and Ron Bass for winning this tournament, and although I know it isn't permanent. Welcome home to Kevin and Kerry Von Erich, and thank you to the World Wrestling Federation for allowing them to be here tonight. For Lance Russell, Charlie Platter, and even Ronnie P. Gossett, I am Marc Lowrance, saying Good Night Everyone.

The show closes with Black Bart, Ron Bass, and Bill Irwin in the ring holding the David Von Erich Memorial Trophy and the 100,000 check for a press picture. While Kevin and Kerry Von Erich are being bombarded at ringside by long time Texas fans who are overjoyed at seeing them home again.

Day 3! Let's get it on!

Bruise Brothers advance to the semi's with a big win over Tatum and Victory. The Texas champs might of been eliminated but can certainly brag about their tournament showing.

The heat is on in Texas as The Rich's are somehow still alive. Nightmares give them a fight but the Rich's dirty tactics give them the win. Rich's vs. Bruise Brothers...YES!

LOL! I loved how Morrow and Fergie graced the fans with a toast when they officially received the bye. Nice touch.

Wild Bunch and Stud Stable put on one hell of a hard hitting match! Wild Bunch advance with a crowd rock'n win.

And now the finals! It all comes down to the Wild Bunch and Texas fan favorites the Rich's LOL. I'll tell you what, the Rich's have some brass balls, coming out to Stranglehold while wearing Tennessee colors. Another nice touch with the Wild Bunch using David's old theme song. The stage is set. The fans go wild as the Wild Bunch totally dominate the early moments. Then comes the long Rich heat segment. This had to be their best performance of the weekend. They really worked Bart over. Bart makes the tag but here comes the Ref bump. More heat for the Rich's and it looks like the money is theirs.

Hold on! It can't be! It is! Kerry and Kevin Von Erich are in the house!!!!!!! I can't imagine the reaction. The fans go absolutely bonkers! The Von Erich's taking out the Rich's was a moment of pure satisfaction Texas fans will never forget. Even more satisfying was making Tommy bleed with the claw. I couldn't think of a more fitting way to end the show. The Wild Bunch take home the money and trophy. They certainly earned it.

I'm glad you came up with this idea Bleh. I had a lot of fun planning this with you and Gene. I'm sure we can all get a bottle of Morrow's champagne and have a toast to another one next year.
