Kobashi. He was a bit formulaic at this point, but hell if it not only didn't work, but that he didn't knock it out of the park every time.

Tamura - He took almost 5 years off and walked back into pro-wrestling as the best wrestler on Earth.

Runner Up - Eddie Guerrero this is probably the closest someone gets to matching Tamura during Tamura's run.

What about CM Punk? His year is very good but maybe not as good as Eddie Guerrero's.

Joe and Kobashi are in the middle of all-time great world title reigns, along with Eddie Guerrero at arguably his best. Though I had to mention how incredible Randy Orton is in those Evolution tags and singles work against Foley and Benoit especially. It was like seeing a future GOAT and it sucks that he never fully turned out that way.

I'm only up to May in my 2004 viewing, but Kobashi, Eddie and Meiko are the workers on my radar. Benoit and Styles  round out my top five. The best worker in Mexico is probably Ultimo Guerrero, though Santo and Blue Panther are looming on the horizon.
