MoS Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 This has been one of the best built PPV cards in AEW history. So many matches I am excited for. Dragon has to be winning. Quote
Jmare007 Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 After Dynamite I'm 90% sure Swerve is winning convincingly. Even though I think that is the right call in all honesty , I don't think I can stomach watching it live. Probably gonna watch it with an hour delay on Thriller. Quote
MoS Posted August 25, 2024 Author Report Posted August 25, 2024 Maybe Hangman loses the gauntlet and in his hatred and fury at Swerve, costs him the title in the main event Quote
Blehschmidt Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Brian Cage and Sammy Guevara both dressing like Wolverine while on opposite teams in the same match is pretty funny. Quote
MoS Posted August 25, 2024 Author Report Posted August 25, 2024 Toni receiving far more cheers than I would have thought she would get at Wembley. Both a sign of the changing nature of stadium crowds as well as a testament to the excellent work these two did in the build Quote
WingedEagle Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Loved the opener as it had some fun bumps, minimal dead time/set up spots and they did a good job shifting focus to different folks throughout. But what I love even more is an afternoon PPV! No getting tired for the biggest matches or conflicts about staying up super late ahead of work. As far as I'm concerned all PPVs should be from Europe. WingedEagle Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Until that spot on the steps and ensuing juice this was just a television match and it seemed the moment was much bigger than the match. Let's see what the back half has to offer. Quote
Jmare007 Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Major props to Toni Storm. Found a completely new character, got it over huge AND got to make someone new from scratch in Mariah. That was a very good match and much better than I expected (didn't really like May matches prior to this one). Quote
MoS Posted August 25, 2024 Author Report Posted August 25, 2024 LOL at "We want Big Bill!!" chants Quote

Jmare007 Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Taz should've done that 5 minutes earlier so the match was shorter, lol. Quote

Jmare007 Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Those Sgt. Pepper outfits are the best thing the Bucks have done in like 18 months. Quote

Timbo Slice Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 It sure looks like they didn’t get to 80k based on crowd shots. They keep going back to wide shots and it’s not looking nearly as full in the top levels like last year. Interesting. The show has a meandering pace after the opener. Hoping the tag title match picks things up a bit. Quote

There was a Taylor Swift concert that made it basically impossible for them to change the set up from her shows (either that or they just piggy backed on that set up to cut costs on production crews). After the 1st advance, they just set their goal to 50k and that's what they got (53k according to WrestleTix). Quote
Timbo Slice Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Welp. This means we WILL get Nigel/Bryan at some point. Quote
KingBoggs33 Posted August 25, 2024 Report Posted August 25, 2024 Good for him and I will say he looks pretty crisp. Also I don’t recognize any of these theme songs. lol. Quote
