Was Dave watching Wrestling from the Olympic in LA when he was growing up? The stuff I've seen from that territory in a Piper comp was a really boring style.

All I have is a few weeks from April-May and then two weeks in October. I'm mostly just skipping to the Buddy stuff although I find myself enjoying heel Fantastics. I guess I've just hated the all Fulton version as faces so much it just feels right that I'm SUPPOSED to feel that way. Would have made interesting opponents for the RNR Express in SMW. Buddy just made it worth my time to watch a JYD + Mike George squash tag match by saying Mike George looks like a 60 year old Buddy Landell while doing guest commentary.

I don't know if he's running it but he's definitely involved. He hasn't been on the TV although he is in the credits as "match-maker"

Anyone familiar with Five Star Wrestling from Louisiana from 1990? I think Buck Robley was booking and they must have had TV at some point because I've been watching some. Pretty thin roster with JYD as the lead babyface, someone in a mask as Black Olympia and a very old looking bleached blonde Mike George as his buddies. On the heel side it's Buddy Landell, Akbar and some guy who seems pretty terrible named The Beast. The most notable thing so far is the Fantastics working as heels which I actually think works really well for the all Fulton version.

I think they should have a big picture group of wrestling people who script out where they want to go and then let another team handle how to get there week to week. I feel like that's what they're trying to do with their "office team" and "road team" but I suspect those two teams are just working against each other.

HITC is his most memorable but definitely not his best. I'll go with vs HHH at No Way Out 2000.

In the sense that he's about the same size as Randy Couture...yeah, you're probably right. Who's the most normal-looking guy who Lesnar worked with during his original run? RVD maybe.

I keep reading people suggest a "CM Punk gets turned on by Heyman & Lesnar" scenario and I just don't know if people realize how small CM Punk would look against Brock. Like "I really can not suspend my disbelief for this match" small.

It can only work if they change everything about him including his dreads, his promos, his ring gear, his music, his horrible offense. Haha yea pretty much that's exactly what I was thinking. There's nothing about him currently that seems like it would work as a heel.

I don't see a heel Kofi Kingston working at all.

There's pretty conflicting reports on how popular it actually was, but it didn't get picked up for a second season so it must not have been a huge hit.

I really miss having a weekly wrestling show that I look forward to. There have been various times where I've been really into Smackdown but I haven't cared to watch it in a long time. I loved WWECW and Ring Ka King and both of those are long gone. TNA has a few bright spots but I can't watch their whole show. Is there anything you guys here EAGERLY watch every week?

Is Puerto Rico getting it's own full set, or is that one of the territories getting a mini-set?

I wish they would have gotten behind him the way they did Sheamus as a babyface. Masters would have done great having long PPV matches for the World Title and I don't think they could have done as many lame things to his character.

Forget the Sportatorium I think they could have put that in the Cotton Bowl if they booked it right.

I don't remember which Almanacs I had but I know at least one of them suffered the fate of a lost cover. I loved that they had all the PPV results and so many title histories. Back before you could just look everything up on the internet the PWI Almanac was the best.

Reading these I find it insane that even as recent as 2003 or for some up to like 2005, that people were saying Ric Flair was "still better than 90% of today's active wrestlers." I agree with the notion that he should have went out at Starrcade 93.

I don't know if it's fair to say those were "10,000 regular fans" though. That 13,000 figure is pretty high compared to the other 1986 numbers. In June they drew 7,200 for a card that on paper looks better than the November show that drew 13,000. The November show is heavily gimmicked with a Two Ring Battle Royal in the semi-main and the main event being the stacked cage, two matches at a time thing. I think it's a deal where people are really interested in the idea, decide to go see the show and then realize the execution can't match the idea. And they get turned off by feeling like the main event that the were really pumped for turns out to be a dud. So they skip the next show. There is no show after that for us to see if the number could rebound or not.

My total shot in the dark guess would be that maybe fans didn't buy Reed as a challenger yet. This would have been very shortly after his heel turn, and during his initial babyface run he wasn't put over that strongly.

Another possibility for the complete collapse of the New Orleans attendance figures as compared to their other key cities: maybe something happened in New Orleans to kill the town? My guess would be that this idea on the previous show that drew 13,000: Barbed Wire Steel Cage: Terry Taylor d. Buddy Roberts Steel Cage: Steve Williams d. Michael Hayes (these matches were at the same time with one cage on top of the other) was a real disaster of a match and really turned off the fans.
