Sandow is definitely the current king of favorites that people have soured on. Even his most die hard supporters after the Mizdow thing are talking about how his TNA run sucks and he's not very good without some kind of goofy gimmick which to me is hilarious as all anyone wanted to say about him after Mizdow was "make him a serious character and give him push!"

I don't really think you can be a heel on twitter. Either you get the Kevin Owens type response of 'OH MY GOD YAAAS QUEEN DRAG HIM!!!" when you mock fans if you're a well known star or you get the response that Jinny fella got if you're not which is "How dare you insult my friend, I will not be seeking out your matches!"

Looking into it yesterday on twitter introduced me to a whole different part of wrestling twitter that I did not know existed. Like there are whole groups of fans out there (seemingly with a large portion of them being Bella Stan twitter) who either legitimately think, or just pretend, that what happens on WWE TV is legit.

Not that I know of. I just saw he was following me on twitter and asked if he was voting JYD.

Yea me too. Even on twitter the only real discussion I've seen was same old Sting arguments. Even my spat with Karl Stern was really weak compared with last year's.

I honestly don't blame Foley for his stance because posting the DM conversation was an incredibly shitty thing to do. Especially since the person who he was conversing with thinks he is ACTUALLY in charge of Raw as a real life GM. It was actually silly for him to be discussing WWE's booking with a fan via DM in the first place. EDIT: I feel like if we're going to talk about it on the board then we need to actually show what is being discussed:

The funny thing about people reacting with "Why is Itami wrestling some rookie!?" is that people have been saying for months now that NXT should be having the experienced guys wrestling the green dudes on the Florida loop house shows because it was pointless to have something like Nakamura vs. Samoa Joe in front of 50 people when two younger wrestlers could be getting a learning experience against Nak or Joe.

I think it's completely ruined the brand split and they should have waited a minimum of ten years to have any Raw vs SD matches.

You know, thinking about the whole "star teams with jobber thing" they did all the time and it might have just been as simple as one less jobber to pay. I know a lot of territories didn't pay their regular crew for TV but would pay the jobs guys.

They didn't just do it with the babyfaces though they would have heels team with jobbers too, like Ron Bass in the episode that Matt D mentioned and some I just put on youtube from 84 with Rip Rogers teaming with jobbers against The Rat Patrol.

Geez all wrestling matches are not about someone getting or giving "the rub." They are bringing back Goldberg to try and boost their ratings and get Network subs. They put him against Lesnar because they clearly have no clear plan for Lesnar involving anyone on the actual roster and haven't for a long time.

It really is ridiculous, especially how they make Raw go an hour+ longer than Smackdown EVERY WEEK!

Southeastern had a lot of guys who only worked TV and never won but weren't really JOBBERS in the normal sense of the word. Guys like Roy Lee Welch, Mike Jackson & Ted Allen don't make it onto the arena cards but they are all regulars on TV having competitive matches that they never win. Condrey & Rose are so good on TV that it makes me think if we had arena footage of them they could honestly be in the same conversation as The Midnight Express as best teams of the 80s or at least not very far behind. As for the Ron Bass thing, Southeastern did a whole bunch of "established guy teams with a jobber" matches. I never have figured out why but it's something they did a lot.

The biggest takeaway I had from 1981 Southeastern is that everyone was kind of pushed at an equal level. Everyone would kind of float up and down the card and in and out of title feuds to where there wasn't a real sense of hierarchy of "these are the 3 top guys, these dudes are in the middle and then these guys are at the bottom" and it's pretty cool. Bob might go from a feud for the Southeastern title, to one for the Alabama title, then go to working with Brad teaming up for the tag titles and then go off into a feud with Ron Bass that's the opening match at the arenas but he still feels as important as ever through all of it.
