    FloSlam

Pretty much TBD on all of that.
  2. 5* post. I think this board needs to add the ability to give star ratings to individual posts and not just threads.
  3. Clicking manage your account on sidebar menu takes you to the Cleeng site with pretty much 1 click so I'm not really sure what you're talking about with the email receipt stuff. The trial also does not sign you up for the $99 year plan automatically you can change it to a monthly plan before you ever put in credit card info so all of your complaints sound like user errors to me.

    FloSlam

I don't really follow indy wrestling at all but if I were to pick between the two currently it would probably be Powerbomb.tv with them having deals with a few lucha indy groups and Black Terry Jr. to show some of the stuff he shoots. Plus they might not have the financial backing of FloSlam but they seem to be making sure they have all their stuff together before launching which FloSlam definitely did not.
  5. Unfortunately we're stuck with that because there are so many idiots who get off on the idea of Conrad being the great voice of truth (i.e. internet folklore) while Bruce is just a corporate puppet of Vince McMahon towing the company line (even though he has not worked there in years and the last wrestling company he worked for was TNA) so part of the gimmick of the show now is Conrad challenging Bruce on stuff and the easiest way to do that is to ask about money because he already knows Bruce isn't going to go there.

    FloSlam

Beyond has said on twitter that right now they are only scheduled to do 1 event with FloSlam as Beyond already has their own $10 a month service. I suppose it's a test to see if it's easier to let FloSlam do the logistics of a live event.
  7. Pretty much the only time I ever see it come up is when someone tries to discredit John Cena (who probably calls as much or more in the ring than anyone in WWE) by saying all his matches are laid out by Arn Anderson anyway so he's really not all that great.

    Hell in a Cell 2016

Sasha collapsing during her Liger Bomb attempt was essentially what led into the finishing stretch so not sure how you could forget her injured back.

Agreed that the hate of the finish is way overblown. If you'd have had some 5 minute finishing stretch of trading nearfalls then people would have popped at the end when the finish was supposed to suck the air out of the building and make people upset that Sasha lost.

    Hell in a Cell 2016

Very much agree with that. On Goc's point -- if a majority of fans who pay for and watch the programming preferred Owens/Rollins they should absolutely run with it. I'd find that hard to believe, but far be it from me to suggest they cater to anything but the largest possible segment of the audience. If that feud and its developments post-HIAC move ratings and crowds go crazy for it then perhaps they hit something. Haven't seen anything since they crowned Owens or throughout this feud suggesting that's the case though. It's a match that has Seth Rollins & Kevin Owens in it. The denizens of wrestlingforum and the worst of wrestling twitter will rate it highly no matter what they do even if the entire match is a 15 minute extended sequence of that gif. So I don't put a lot of stock into it except to say "there sure are a lot of stupid wrestling fans these days"

The fact that there are people saying the Charlotte/Sasha match wasn't great is ok, but that there are a lot of people saying it was outright BAD is just fucking stupid. Especially when they are saying Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens was WAY better. If only Sasha & Charlotte didn't work a match that conveyed hatred and wanting to legitimately hurt your opponent and did perfectly choreographed no selling sequences like Owens & Rollins maybe it could have gotten a few more snowflakes thrown it's way.

  14. I don't know how you can complain about a match that had this incredible display of FIGHTING SPIRT!

    Hell in a Cell 2016

Well if we are to believe certain people, the build is toward Charlotte vs Dana Brooke. So she has to get the title eventually. Now I would wish that the person to break the PPV streak would be Bayley but it wouldn't surprise if they save it for Dana. The only problem with the finish is that we have been fed for years that some wild table/chair spot has to occur. Now maybe they were hoping that the table would break when Sasha was thrown on it like a rag doll. Personally seeing her land on those tables looking more painful than Rollins finish. Yea, let's believe the ever reliable anonymous reports that went from being "WWE executives don't like Dana's look and her nickname backstage is Miss Piggy" to "Vince is in love with her and sees big money in her" I'm sure no one would make up a story to get clicks, especially not something as easy as "Vince likes person the smarks don't" They are definitely setting up Bayley vs Charlotte which is the smart move. People have been complaining about Bayley's booking since she got called up well what better way to get her over as a babyface than have her go against the most over heel on the roster? It's WAY smarter than have her challenge Sasha Banks and get a split crowd or worse since Sasha has been around the main roster longer and is currently more over than Bayley.

    WWE TV 10/24-10/31

Just get rid of the commentary team, the pre-shows and the website so it's just matches with only crowd noise all problems solved.
  17. Agreed. Fink is a nice garnish on top of everything but if he had never gotten in the wrestling business it would pretty much have 0 ramifications on WWF's success. Would it be fair to compare Fink's case as a non-wrestler to "work" candidates since so much of his case is built on artistic excellence? Does that make sense? I don't know because a "work" candidate still brings a lot more value to a promotion than a ring announcer, even a guy you want to say is the best or 2nd best ring announcer ever. I don't really like the comparison from earlier in the thread about a ring announcer being like a kicker in football either. The difference between a good kicker and a bad kicker can really make a huge difference on the outcome of games. I don't think going from Fink to Lillian Garcia really made a huge impact on overall show quality. Like, if Fink were to get put back on Raw Monday it would be an upgrade over the current ring announcer but not something that's going to hugely upgrade the show quality overall.

  19. If you're gonna post gifs of Ultimo Dragon botches you can't leave this one out:
  20. Then why is Jimmy Lennon in? This is what Dave wrote in the 10/24 issue of the Observer and should put to rest any ideas that he doesn't think Finkel or Okerlund are HOFers
  21. Definitely not the only person I played with my Hasbros a ton as a kid. Doink figure was very easy to break fingers off. Giant Gonzalez was the best Hasbro figure imo. Made a great monster heel that pretty much no one but The Undertaker could really go toe to toe with.
  22. The wrestling podcast genre is really over saturated in my view. You have to come up with something that makes yours totally unique to stand out. Doing reviews of current shows or even just doing a show about current wrestling in general seems like something that would make it very hard to stand out from the very large crowd of people doing the same thing. It's also I thing where I would say if it really doesn't bring you any joy and stresses you out, consider why are you really doing it? If you no longer enjoy it then maybe just take a break and start back at it later once you're feeling refreshed.
  23. That's clearly a standard power bomb as the man lands flat on his back please stop being part of the conspiracy to cover up Jimmy Golden's accomplishments.
