  1. I believe so, yes. It should work the same way. Sadly, no. It's going to be a bit labor intensive, but I'm editing thread titles. Check the January 1990 folder to see what I've done so far. I've applied hashtags and edited titles there, so you can see where we are going. The good news is that you'll be able to sort those threads in all folders when I'm done by: - Wrestler - Day of the Year - Feud - Promotion - Title on the line - Title Change - City in which it occurred - My star rating (Plan to layer in others eventually, including WON ratings) Good God, really? That sounds amazing. Thank you to you and anyone else who is putting in the time to make all this happen.
  2. The first caller on Austin's latest Unleashed show was the perfect combination of everything annoying about the internet wrestling community.
  3. What's hilarious though, is that Im reading people complaining about it "because it doesn't mean anything". Jesus Christ, if you're that incapable of joy then stop watching wrestling, and seek help before you end up feeding yourself a bullet. If one of the criteria for a match being good or great is that it has to "mean something," how many good or great matches would we have a year? 10? 20? 5? 2? 8? 6? Normally your duckies and bunnies outlook on modern WWE is way off the mark (IMO), Johnny, but you're spot-on here.
  4. I know several. None of them have any idea what HHH does behind the scenes. They just crack jokes bout all the HGH he must eat for breakfast.
  5. Just because more wrestling fans today might check the gossip sites than in the past, it doesn't mean they're all plugged into how much HHH holds people down. Hardy trending on Twitter because of a drunken brawl is totally different than people understanding the inner-workings of HHH being an asshole. If Russell Wilson goes out and gets a DWI tomorrow, it will trend on every form of social media possible and appear on all types of mainstream news outlets. That doesn't mean a high percentage of people will understand how much of a risk Seahawks GM John Schneider took in a) drafting Wilson in the first place or B. waiting until the 3rd round to draft him when it was very plausible that someone could have snatched him up before that and his own coach wanted to pull the trigger in the second round.
  6. No more than 5 percent.

  8. So we're going to have to find Yearbook matches and angles amongst all the other stuff? No more big threads on individual wrestlers in The Microscope section? Just threads on hundreds of individual matches and angles? Or is my sleep-deprived brain not comprehending this correctly?
  9. What is there to breakdown? Breaking down HHH's ringwork is like breaking down a Nickelback record. Sure, you could try it, but...

  11. If someone told me that I'd be working with HHH (or Randy Orton) at Wrestlemania, I wouldn't be able to run out the door fast enough.
  12. This thread has lost its mind. Let's go back to thinking of hippie-themed angles for Daniel Bryan.
  13. The RAW after Elimination Chamber begins not with a match or in-ring segment, but with an infomercial rallying against Monsanto and animal slaughterhouses.
  14. I think doing the whole Punk is resentful of Bryan angle for Wrestlemania might seem rushed. In my fantasy booking universe, I'd have Bryan win the title at EC, beat HHH at Mania to further establish himself, then have a longer title reign until somewhere down the line, Punk returns and they go w/ the whole resentment angle with Punk as the a-hole heel. The old school fantasy booker in me says they should ignite the resent angle this way: Book champion Bryan in a program against Batista after Bryan's big win over HHH at Mania. Once that runs it course, bring Triple-H back into the picture for another attempt to push Bryan back down the card, which would lead to Punk returning to stand up for his friend. Book Bryan/Punk vs. HHH/Batista at Summer Slam (or whenever it's appropriate). After Bryan endures a long FIP segment, when he goes to hot-tag Punk, Punk turns on him and the resentment angle kicks off.
  15. I watched RAW last night just so I could see what all the fuss was about. The arena looked full. Fans were wearing merch. I'm sure ratings will be about what they've typically been over the last few years. Until people stop going to shows, quit buying merch and watch something else besides RAW on Monday night, nothing will change. Most wrestling fans would rather watch bad wrestling and bitch about bad wrestling than not watch wrestling at all. WWE knows that so there's very little incentive to innovate or take risks. Same old, same old. I'm sure this whole process will be repeated again in six months when some other younger guy is showing promise and gets squashed down by 30-minute Triple-H promos, the return of some past superstar, and whatever rehashed feud John Cena is involved with.
  16. After skimming through this thread and reading about the nasty crowd reaction to last night's Rumble, it kind of makes me want to watch RAW tonight to see how bad the crowd shits on whatever WWE does that doesn't elevate Daniel Bryan. Maybe that's WWE's new strategy: Tune in to watch our angry fans take a dump on our lackluster main-eventers.
  17. Are there more than 10 people on this Earth who say to themselves on Monday afternoon, "Gee, I really need to tune into RAW tonight so I can watch Randy Orton." If I died and went to heaven and Jesus allowed me to create my own personal dream wrestling card that I could enjoy while sitting on a nice puffy cloud, but said the card must include one Randy Orton match, I'd tell Jesus no thanks and go down to hell instead.

  20. I can picture the promoter/booker telling these two before the show to not go near the river, and Funk and Hansen immediately looking at each other and deciding that they will not only go near the river, but in the river.
  21. How the dude doesn't throw his back out executing that move is amazing. It might look better if he does it to a smaller guy and could really whip him the other way with more force. But after watching the above video, I just kept thinking, "Um, a regular powerslam would have accomplished the same thing."
  22. The Piper interview was kind of meh. I was annoyed halfway through because once again, Austin just throws out the same general questions and sits there while the guest rambles. But I don't think a better interviewer such as Bob Costas could've conducted an interview w/ Roddy that would've made much sense
  23. When I read through the 1984-86 Observers a couple of years ago, I remember thinking to myself often, "Oh my God! There is no way this would fly even by today's 24-hour-throw-rumors-against-the-wall style of 'reporting.'"
  24. Jim Ross is supposedly close to inking a deal with FOX Sports. http://www.awfulannouncing.com/2014/januar..._medium=twitter
