    WWE 6/12-6/19

What they should do is have Joe choke out Lesnar to win the title, Lesnar goes away for a couple of months and then Lesnar comes back and wins the belt back.
  2. Throughout WWWFE history, I'd say there are more cards where the heels win and faces look like losers and idiots than the other way around. It's just now, instead of getting mad at the heels for cheating, people get mad at the bookers for booking them to cheat. I mean your main faces always won though. It was a face territory for a reason. Most MSG cards I've seen has seemed pretty even minus a few oddball cards here and there.
  3. And this is like the 4th straight PPV with these outcomes which causes people to get pissed off even more.
  4. I wonder if there really were more good finishes ten years ago? I think less in the sense that you weren't getting entire shows of bad finishes.
  5. I think the problem is they aren't asking people to fork over $50 for a PPV anymore so they don't feel the need to so anything close to good finishes on those shows.
  6. I was getting my dates confused. I meant 87.
  7. I don't understand how they are making Lesnar/Joe so awesome yet they literally can do nothing else right. I understand sometimes you misfire and sometimes you go down the wrong path but I don't get how anyone can look at these shows and think a human being would be entertained by it.
  8. I'm sure they'll save that cash in so he can beat someone the fans would actually enjoy as champion.
  9. But is it 2010 - 2012 WWE level yet Well, I kind of took a hiatus after the Benoit murders and didn't get back in until I got into Chikara in 2011. I missed that whole time period minus NXT's start.
  10. I think I might hate 2017 WWE more than I ever hated 2002-2004 WWE.
  11. They should have saved the crowd an hour and murdered a puppy in the ring. It would have achieved the same results as the first two matches did.
  12. I will say he gets the title in 1988 and ends up doing okay but never gets the NWA/WCW over the hump. I think around 1991 he jumps ship due to Jim Herd being Jim Herd and ends up in the WWF at the height of the steroid trial. He ends up being an upper-mid card guy and takes Luger's spot in 1993 and gets a short reign as WWF Champion, winning and losing the belt to Yokozuna. He jumps back to WCW in 1995 but kind of fades out as 1996 starts. He does a short stint in ECW and maybe a quick cup of coffee in the WWF for the NWA angle before calling it quits.
  13. Yeah, it's a novelty. The NBA is the same way. The viewing audience is completely different than the people that go to the games. I think the median age has skewed so hard because only the people that have been watching wrestling for 30+ years can put up with how tedious the TV has become.
  14. I watched an interesting Meltzer video where they were discussing the audience. The median age of the TV viewer for WWE is 54 now. That's worse than any of the major sports leagues.
  15. How many good matches does a person have to have before they can be considered good. I've said it numerous times. Watch any house show from 1984 into 1986 with a Hogan match on it and 9 times out of 10 it will be the best match or the second best match on the show. My opinion on Hogan changed around 2003 or 2004. I found a 4 hour VHS tape that was just loaded with Hogan matches from this era and I was blown away by the quality of the bouts he had in that era.
  16. I think just block them and move on. Being really thin skinned about it just makes it worse. That goes beyond wrestling to other celebrities and athletes as well.
  17. This will probably be the first WWE DVD I buy in maybe 8 years.
  18. Actually his, I show up to work response does bother me a little more than I thought. Poor baby, go be an accountant if it bothers you so much. Plenty of people make a shit ton of sacrifices to earn a living.
  19. I like Dolph more than most around here but it's been obvious he's just been going through the motions the last couple of years.
  20. It is and they put it on Youtube so you can skip everything else that sucks. I wish they weren't wasting this build on a one off title defense.
  21. My only problem with Reigns response, and I'm saying this as someone who manages people, is he essentially gave the "I show up" argument a lot of people make for raises and promotions. Not getting into the quality of his work or hashtag just that the logic of it bothered me since I have to deal with that mentality a lot.
  22. They actually had a more general panel at the one I went to on Japanese wrestling. The wrestlers doing the show that night invaded the panel to hype their show.
  23. On the subject of if this is a Golden Age. I say it absolutely is. I can get on my computer tonight watch a New Japan show, hit up a couple of Stardom matches, watch some lucha on YouTube, watch a Chikara show and then get into some old footage and never get off the couch. As far as having stuff available and the amount of good wrestling out there on a weekly basis is just insane. As far as wrestling being relevant. I just took my niece to a giant anime convention and there were tons of guys cosplaying current roster guys and a local promotion ran a show at the convention.

In fairness to them. At least the women are just suffering from the general incompetence of the company when it comes to booking talent now.
  25. I'm sad that Naito doesn't have the belt to abuse anymore. That was really fun.
