This seems like a card full of matches that won't help anyone. Taker beating Brock seems insane to me if it happens. He's their last megastar and a loss here would just destroy him. Rollins/Cena seems like a clusterfuck of a match. All of the results seem to lead nowhere good for the future.

Evolve is another company that I wish would price their shows at a more reasonable rate. I wish some of these companies would try the Chikara model where you can buy the whole show or buy individual matches for $1.99 if you want.

I've never taken it for being piped in either. There's some episodes were the crowd can seem dead for certain guys.
-
I think Kevin Kelly has gotten better but most of the guys they try to use for color are just rancid. I really just want Steve Corino to fuck off when he does commentary.

Have you guys heard much about this Jake documentary coming out?

I think the price is a big issue that's going to hurt them. You can get NXT for cheap and have access to the last two years of the product for a nice monthly fee. For RoH, their content comes at a ridiculous premium if you want more than the TV. Their DVDs are too expensive and they want too much for the VOD. They really need to consider cutting prices on that stuff to get more people in. I think Jim Cornette's absolute incompetence as a booker got them started off on the wrong foot with the general public. They made a really bad first impression and that's hard to overcome.

No love for Landell?

It seems WWE felt embarrassed that there was a Kevin Steen figure in ROH's upcoming line before they could market a Keven Owens one. It's not something a billion dollar company should be quite that upset about, but I get the impression it was an ego bruising that someone couldn't handle. My guess is that it's a HHH ego bruising. Vince never seemed to get upset about guys making a buck for themselves like a figure deal.

I tried to do this as a list but I hit the middle and locked up so I'm going to use the same tier system. Tier 1: Buddy Landell Tracy Smothers Dick Slater Chris Candido Now, if I was doing a straight list format Buddy Landell would be my number 1. I admit to being slightly biased because I just watched his JCP run within the last year. He was just tremendous during that time frame. Tier 2: Tommy Rich Dutch Mantell Jeff Jarrett Tom Prichard Brian Pillman Steve Keirn Brad Armstrong Eddie Gilbert Robert Fuller Terry Taylor Lanny Poffo I see all of these guys as extremely strong talents and some of the guys like Gilbert and Prichard are among my favorites. Tier 3: Eric Embry Bill Irwin Billy Joe Travis Buddy Roberts Stan Lane John Tatum Bobby Fulton This is largely a group I'm indifferent towards. They don't offend me in any way but I also don't really go looking for their matches either. Tier 4: Robert Gibson Iceman Parsons My biggest takeaway from the Rock N Roll Express watching the last year is that Ricky Morton is a god of charisma. He made a completely mediocre talent in Robert Gibson part of something special. My 1985 JCP watch really exposed the fact that Gibson is probably one of the luckiest guys ever in wrestling. He couldn't talk and he wasn't anything special in the ring either. I can't think of many cases were one talent was so strong that he carried such an obvious weak link to such heights.

I think they should have been doing some things years ago. Like investing in better production values. Side by side they don't look as good as NXT does. I think they also needed to book the two PPVs they've had better this year. The TV is great but the two big shows were very mediocre. They also need to fix their VOD prices. Streaming should never cost more than $10 and $35 for a six month old show is insanity.

I would choose NXT to see Sasha vs. Bayley.
-
Go alone. I hit events alone all the time.
-
I would buy an NXT ticket. I've never been to RoH and I've had to good experiences with NXT. The only way RoH would get me into the building is by booking AJ Styles on the show and I doubt they would do that for Columbus.
-
I haven't seen HHH/Rock since the original airing but I remember being disappointed by it at the time. I thought it was maybe the 3rd best match on the show. Possibly 4th because I liked Austin/Taker the first time I saw it.
-
I think I remember seeing it on some list a long time ago but never played it. I played Promotion Wars for a really long time until EWR came out.

Indy wrestlers. The companies they produce stuff for is RoH, CZW, Evolve, CWF Hollywood, Inspire, Chikara, AIW and Shimmer.
-
I still dust off Extreme Warfare Revenge every now and then. TNM7 was a lot of fun. I looked it up like a year ago and was surprised by how expensive it was to get everything. I never emailed to see if it was still being supported.

Filsinger also has the sci-fi Champions line. If you want some crazy gimmicks and to book guys that don't have the baggage of real life people you're emulating.
-
I prefer the Filsinger Games Legends of Wrestling. You can do mishmash teams, six man's, etc. It's a much more flexible system for booking. The biggest disadvantage is they only release guys that sign up for it. So some guys have said no. With that said they do have some absolutely huge names in the game. Wrestling's Finest feels more like wrestling. There can be some absolute drama in the matches and guys tend to feel like themselves. Stan Hansen feels like he's just mauling guys in there. It doesn't have the flexibility. Tag teams are pre-made and the system is complicated so you can't bootleg guys or teams you would want. With Filsinger you can bootleg really balanced cards as you learn the system. I'd go Filsinger then Wrestling's Finest. I prefer the flexibility at the expense of the feel of the game. Filsinger's Indy games are amazing. They literally have almost every big indy name out there. If that's your thing it's a good avenue to explore.

I love when they do the $2.99 VOD sales. I don't care what it is, I always end up buying it.

Hogan and Sting had a stunningly watchable match at Bound For Glory one year.
-
And the Yankem match isn't bad either. That was probably the best you were getting out of him at the time.
